APPLICATIONS!
Currently: Closed!
Route 29 has closed as of May 30th. For the continuation of the game, please visit [community profile] victory_road!

Applications will be normally checked during the weekend following the first and third Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated, and we will allow one application per person during one application cycle. Remember, the most characters one player can have at a time is currently set at five.

Applications received after 11:59 PM EST on Saturday of the first and third weekend of each month will be checked the following app weekend unless otherwise stated.

We now ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!

The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.

Name: Prussia (Gilbert Weillschmidt)
Series: Axis Powers - Hetalia
Timeline: Modern Era - 2012

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_State_of_Prussia_(1933%E2%80%931947)
http://hetalia.livejournal.com/474207.html

Personality:

Gilbert’s a brash, hot-blooded person with a very blunt outlook on life and who leaps before he thinks. He has squaddie humour, and is a soldier through and through. As he was first born as the avatar of the Teutonic Knights, which was in medieval times a crusading military order, Gilbert’s personality was shaped by this. He responds well to authority, and is very punctual and straight-forward, with very little patience for beating around the bush. He does lie, but he prefers uncomplicated white lies where he doesn’t have to think up convoluted plots to cover himself. He has a widely unappreciated cunning streak and political/diplomatic savvy (Bismarck, anyone?).

Gilbert still retains some of the religious teachings of the Teutonic Order in terms of modesty and being a decent human being. He’s very bashful around scantily clad women, and is a bit chivalrous towards them (unless they’re Hungary). He can be very defensive of his pride, as well, and any needling or teasing or even innocent questions that hit too close to home (such as comments about him being alone), will always garner a blustering, hasty defensive retort, as well as plenty of sulking and glowering depending on the severity of the 'insult'. Despite his militaristic upbringing, he's not quick to violence, and is more likely to get into a verbal argument, or storm away when angered.

Not sure what else to put…um, brash, impulsive, blunt, cunning, bashful, shy…ah! Gilbert also retains some insecurity about his existence. Being dissolved and having most of the world forget or ignore about him has made him fearful of disappearing entirely, so if he feels that not enough attention is being paid to him, he’ll be flashier and louder, drawing mostly annoyance towards his way. But any attention is better than no attention. At least he knows he exists if people look at him. Needless to say he can also be a bit immature, despite his old age.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

His strength lies in his stubbornness and forward-thinking. He rarely allows himself to be crippled with indecisions, and will make snap decisions and go at it one hundred per cent. This is a double-edged sword however, as this means he’ll leap to conclusions before thinking it through, and charge into situations blindly more often than not. He does have a good military sense though, so he usually makes the right choices in situations like those. In social ones…ehhh not so much.

He’s very loyal and compassionate, although his compassion only lies towards small, cute animals. If you’re a person, your misery and unfortunate plight would mostly draw laughter from him. Needless to say this doesn’t get him many friends. He has an Alone-Complex because of this; prone to latching onto anyone who shows him kindness or positive attention. He doesn’t respond well to direct criticisms either, always blustering to the defence of his character or pride.

Um, what else…he’s got an overly aggressive personality, meaning he’ll put more faith into his own opinions and rarely take into account others’ perspective on things, since /he/ is always correct in his mind. So if people try to contradict him or speak over him, he’ll just shout them down into submission and assert himself as the dominant person of the conversation/group/whatever.

First Person Sample:

[When the video flickers to life, the screen shows a rather fluffy, drowsy looking Torchic pressed up close against the screen. A low coo sounds out – but if definitely didn’t come from the Pokémon.]

Look at this! Look at it – it’s Gilbird Phoenix Version! He can breathe fire and everything and he looks so friggin’ cute!

[The screen shakes then moves to show the Torchic – ‘Gilbird Phoenix Version’ - from all angles. The Pokémon follows the Pokégear’s movements with curious chirps, his little clawed feet dancing on the grassy ground]

Aw, he’s even dancing – oh god, I’m not going to survive, people. I can’t even, oh, Gilbird Phoenix Version, my life is now complete. Oh shit- wait [Gilbert realised that this was actually recording, as in, people would see the great and awesome Prussia dissolved into uncontrollable cooing over a small fire breathing bird]

Er, so, yeah anyway- [screen now shows Prussia’s faintly embarrassed face] Anyone know what’s going on? I’m not complaining about the cute lil’ bird, but being kidnapped and then released into a place with annoying background music is kind of creeping me out. Hey, hey, are there any other nations out there? Heey, guuuuys…?

Third Person Sample:

Gilbert was no stranger to sleeping out in the woods with nothing but a tarp and cardboard that could tentatively be called food, but that didn’t mean he liked it. If anything, he viewed it with an intense hatred, a period of time that he had happily left behind to be replaced with nights of sleeping on a memory foam mattress and a thick quilt and comfort. Oh yes. Comfort indeed. So of course, when he had been kidnapped and essentially kicked out into the woods to apparently live there, Gilbert had whined and complained to his apparently upgraded Gilbird and received only sympathetic chirps for his woes.

And, of course, as per Murphy’s Law, it had decided to rain.

He took stock of his supplies, as any good soldier would, and out of everything he had, there was no tarp or anything waterproof to cower under (unless this weird ass apron they gave him could be used as one). He resorted to sitting under a thick canopy of trees, sitting on his backpack in an effort to keep it dry, with Torchic bundled up in the green apron and cuddled up close on his lap. It wasn’t a manly position to be in, but there was no one but him and Gilbird and the woods, so who the hell would remark on it? That shrub there? Hah.

“This is the weirdest situation I’ve ever been in,” Gilbert told Gilbird, and all he got was a sleepy chirp in response. “Okay, so maybe not the weirdest, but…it’s certainly in the top five. Pokemon… I’m starting to wonder if Japan’s hooked me up to a virtual reality machine or something. Wouldn’t put it past him.”

Gilbird gave him a tiny peck then – nothing painful – but the meaning was clear. Shush! It was naptime! Gilbert mumbled an apology and curled up a bit more, thumping his head against the tree trunk. Ever since he got his upgrade to Phoenix form, Gilbird was certainly grumpier… man, he hoped someone told him what the hell was going on soon. He hated not knowing.

Character
Name: Female Protagonist ➠ (Hakuno Kishinami)
Series: Fate/Extra
Timeline: New Game+ (Archer ➠ Saber ➠ Rin Route)
Canon Resource Links: Fate/Extra Protagonist at the T-M Wiki, as well as this walkthrough that includes all of the routes.

Personality:
Hakuno's average status hardly allows her the chance to stand out. In fact, for a while, she's mistaken as one of the NPC's in the world she's from just due to how little she draws attention to herself. This allows her to slip through the system and complete feats that she shouldn't have been capable of in the first place - a true testament to just how determined she can be. While she isn't the most notable person in the school, her actions throughout the next few weeks of her introduction shape her into an individual with a strong and overbearing reputation.

One that she takes lightly in all honesty. Throughout her time in the Moon Cell, her notoriety is minimal at start, as many of her peers believe that she'll fall in the first round when she's up against a bully with a strong Servant. It's the events of the first round that begin to allow the denseness that is Hakuno to take shape: studious towards her opponent, her eagerness to work alongside her Servant to best them, and even the courage she shows in battling Rider in the arena despite it being against the rules. It isn't until the end of the first round does she realize the consequences of her actions though.

And that alone begins to torment her. With her memories lost, Hakuno isn't quite sure what it is that drives her to win. If she can't remember what she feels so strongly for, why should she remain as a participant in this war? Even if this is a glitch in the system, it leaves her with a despair that can't be alleviated easily, even at the urging of her Servant's words. People die when they lose in this war and she already held the blood of one boy on her hands. With the combination of her Servant's counsel, her opposing Servant's Master, as well as some of the others found in the Moon Cell (specifically Rin Tohsaka), she was able to tackle these thoughts. She has her fears though, as does anyone in a pressing situation, and these fears do leave her crippled with the inability to take action. For example, the concept of dying leaves her paralyzed in fear to the point of where even her own Servant has trouble snapping her from it.

Her determination is one of her most valuable traits. While present at the start due to her refusal to accept her death, it becomes a more resounding force as time goes on. It's present even at the very end of her fight, where she chooses to sacrifice herself to save others. While her heroism shows even before that, her firm beliefs in standing for what she believes in, what little that is, are unmistakable. Her selflessness goes hand in hand with her clueless demeanor.

Beyond that though, she's a fairly naive girl not due to ignorance, but due to a number of reasons. While the most pressing is due to innocence, a majority of it is due in part to a lack of memories. Without those, she hasn't any of life's lessons to keep her tied down and so every event in the Moon Cell is one that shapes her. Friendly to a flaw, it can play against her not only due to the fact she shouldn't make allies with potential prospects for opponents, but because she just may as well slip up about her Servant. Sympathetic towards others, she befriends people who might be considered awful (Shinji), emotionless (Rani), and just outright impossible to get along with (Rin). While she's oblivious to sex and the like, she's not without emotion: for example, she finds herself flustered (and so very confused) when she's groped and she understands to some extent that kissing is something that shouldn't be done lightly.

Even though she's friendly, she has a strange way of viewing things and the people around her. While overly critical, most of her thoughts are laced with snark. However, she's smart enough to keep it to herself mostly, often finding herself unable to repeat her thoughts and choosing instead to just go with the flow. This makes her come off as an easy to please individual who can be pushed around, but those who contend with her stubbornness will find that her mental will is unyielding and impossible to break down.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Determination. It's so strong in fact that she refuses to die during the preliminary round.
+ Critical thinker. Even when it comes to abstract things, she can still assess it according.
+ Competent in battle. At least she knows when to stand back and not get into too much trouble.
+ - Average. So much that she's mistaken for a NPC in the Moon Cell. This also means she fails to draw attention to herself.
+ - Snarktagonist. While she's witty, she keeps it to herself for the most part. Additionally, this makes it difficult for her to grasp certain things.
- Dense. Her permanent state of mind.
- Amnesiac. She doesn't remember a thing about her life. She doesn't let it get her down too much, but it's still a frustrating factor in her life.
- Conflicted. A majority of her thoughts are inner struggles about coming to terms with the rules and the consequences for defeat.

[ It took Hakuno approximately ten seconds to figure out that "MOM" was nothing more than a NPC capable of saying the same few lines over and over again. While the background music was a nice and fitting touch for a game, it took whatever will the girl managed to muster during her stay in the Moon Cell to push herself forward. So approximately six hours after her "Pokémon journey" began, this girl who ignored the warnings of other NPC's, sat down in tall grass to fiddle with her PokéGear. ]

Hello. [ A basic greeting in a language she could understand. Was this English or something else? There's only some hope that at least one person out there could understand her. It'd be a droll life ahead of her if she was stuck communicating with NPC's only. ] I'm wondering if there's anyone by the name Saber here.

[ There, it seems chaste enough of a question to ask. Unadorned with anything to make her stand out, this brunette with blank eyes can only stare at the device in front of her. It's not on the same level as the one she had in the Moon Cell, but it's another part of this game that she's stuck with. Maybe she should ask about everyone else she meet in the Moon Cell; there's quite the list and more than half might be unhappy to see her here, so maybe she shouldn't. It's a tough predicament to be in in all honesty and if she could go back, she just might have if only for another chance to fight alongside the one who believed in her.

... The one. It's strange, but now that she thinks about it ...
Wasn't there two people who did? ]

I'm also looking for someone by the name of Archer--!! [ She blurts it out much in the same manner she would expect from the girl in red, not herself. To boldly ask something like this isn't fitting of her characterization and it leaves the girl startled so much that her fingers shakily move over the device, fumbling it as she works desperately to turn it off. ]

Third Person Sample:
While this situation naturally would worry a great deal of others, Hakuno found herself lethargic to the prison she found herself in. After all, it wasn't as though there were things she had to return home to. There was nothing else that she could do except reassure herself that this new game wouldn't be as troubling as the last. First off, there was no condition of death to not only fall victim to, but to force upon others. That was a relief to say the least. Much like it was in the Moon Cell, she was to fight using a familiar while she supported it with potions, elixirs, and ... candies.

That last part didn't seem right to her.
How would giving candy to a creature make it stronger?

Well, she shouldn't really question it too much. Wearing different articles of clothing back in the Moon Cell allowed her to support her Servant, so what difference does giving candy to a pet make? Other than it seems wrong, but it also seemed wrong to let Rin do what she did to her Servant back then.

... That's something she really shouldn't think about too hard.

So she dismissed the thought of that day to replace it with the on-going events of this day. This one, in particular, was the estimated day that an egg she received from the Breeding Center should hatch. While she's never thought herself to be lucky, she took the appropriate amount of steps needed and now she's just watching it glisten under the rays of the sun. It should hatch soon. If it was bold and feisty, she might name it after Saber. The idea seems to humor her enough as she watches it with her knees pulled up under her chin, having little else to do for the day. Saber, the Pokémon. It might do her some good to have a bit of familiarity in this not-entirely-strange new setting.

... But on second thought, it better end up being the strongest Pokémon in her arsenal or else the Heroic Spirit will never allow her to live it down.

Character
Name: Phoenix Wright
Series: Ace Attorney
Timeline: Post Trials & Tribulations, pre Investigations (before he was disbarred)
Canon Resource Links: Here!

Personality:

{Partly copied from my app to TVK}

In the grand scheme of things, Phoenix can be seen as the "straight man" of the series. He's usually surrounded by hyper, eccentric people, and that combined with his very "normal" outlook on just about everything means that he often gets stuck as the butt of every joke and piece of comedy. Really, he's a pretty normal guy with very active reasoning and logical skills, helped along with an unusual mentor. What makes his particular brand of logic special is the fact that he never assumes the obvious to be true; instead, he takes whatever miniscule thing that he can find that "isn't quite right", and turns the whole situation around until the discrepancy can be explained.

Though he's fairly easygoing, he tends to cope with those aforementioned eccentricities through muttered or internal sarcastic, bitter comments. He's generally pretty calm despite this, and takes things as they come, even if he's complaining and sweating about it the entire time. It's usually easiest to see this when looking at his actions in court. When he's being proven wrong, or if the prosecution has one-upped him again, he'll make a face of total discomfort, but quickly recover his wits to regain his footing and continue working towards the acquittal of his client.

Interestingly, though acquittal is always what Phoenix shoots for, he is more interested in seeing justice done right and finding the truth than simply defending the client. His motto is to believe in his client, because if his client is truly innocent, then there has to be a way to prove that. Usually he's right; there has only been one time where he was completely wrong. And that case in question is one where he was forced to defend his client to protect his assistant, Maya Fey, who had been taken hostage by a hired assassin. In this case, he had to cooperate with someone he'd grown very bitter towards to stall for time while they tried to find a way out of their situation. Once Maya was safe, however, Phoenix changed the defense's plea and convinced his very, very guilty client into confessing to his crime. This whole issue of staying loyal to his client stems from his own abandonment problems. He doesn't ever want to let someone be alone against a world that persecutes them; this is why he decided to change his major midway through college from art and became a defense attorney. {/copy}

Sometimes, Phoneix can be seen as nearly naive in how much he trusts other people. He wants to believe that people are inherently good, and will act accordingly, forcing himself to question even the most frightening of people to discover the truth of a situation. Most of the time this works in his favor, but there have been instances where his naive trust has gotten him into big trouble. In his second ever trial, he was accused of murder because he revealed what he knows to the wrong person much too early. Though he still prevailed with a little paranormal help, having to fight for his life on the stand isn't a good consequence of his actions. Another time, he wound up tazered and some of his most important evidence was stolen from him because the mastermind behind two separate murders was also a prosecutor, and Phoenix's belief in trust and justice led him again to play his hand too soon.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Phoenix is...good at getting by. He forces himself to scramble and claw his way through trials the way he claws through life. It helps that his naive trust causes him to have a lot of friends who are willing to at least offer a bit of advice here and there. He's also very good at observing small details and solving complex logic puzzles by taking things one step at a time. He's supposedly also good at art; he was first accepted into his university as an art student, and would have continued with it were it not for the one time he was on trial for a murder he didn't commit. Watching his defense attorney in action inspired him to switch to law midway. He's also really good at reading people. He often knows when they're lying or hiding something, even without his magical magatama in his pocket. This not only shows up in his ability to read the witnesses he questions, but also in his ability to play poker. His people-reading abilities along with his understanding of sacrifice (losing a hand to win the game) leads him later to be an unmatched poker player.

As much as his naive trust helps him, though, later in Apollo Justice we see that it's very much a double edged sword. Because he trusted Kristoph Gavin to give him genuine evidence, Phoenix loses his badge and a large chunk of his credibility. On the other hand, it showcases his endurance, love of justice, and dignity in the events immediately succeeding this, as he continues to try and understand the events around the case he'd just been disbarred for.

...He also sucks at playing the piano. It's a running gag in Apollo Justice.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASTLY.

[The Gear flicks on, but before the spiky-haired man in the camera can respond, his Gastly shoves him out of the way and licks the screen, obviously having a good time.]

Hey! Knock it off! I know you're missing some ghostly company, but I really like living!

[Phoenix shoulders the Pokemon right back out of the way and stares at the Gear, looking outright harried.]

Look uh... This is kinda embarrassing, but we got kinda lost on the way to get lost on the way to Azalea. Anybody on Route 32 willing to help us out? I'm uh...kinda running really low on food here. Not that I make a habit of mooching! I just. Yeah. Any help would be appreciated.

[Request put in, Gastly seems to think it's time for more Fun with Pokegears! So despite Phoenix's protests, the Gear is snatched out of his hands and dangled above the ground while the ghost pokemon flies around, laughing. The feed will time out before he gets it back.]

Third Person Sample:

Looking around him at the wild Pokemon hiding in the grass, Phoenix can't help the bemused thought that if he ever tried to describe this to someone back home, they'd never believe it. If it was Franziska or Edgeworth or...just about anyone he knows, they'd even demand evidence!

There's no way anything he brought back would be able to be able to explain the sheer crazy that is this place. Though he has to admit to himself, he'd love to see Franziska's reaction to a place like this. He's sure it'd be priceless. Absolutely priceless. Hell, to make himself feel better, the takes a moment to picture it.

Yeah. Priceless.

He snickers to himself before...well, apparently it's his pokemon, but he's beginning to think he's the one on a leash here... butts against his leg, making a grumpy, eerie noise.

"Yeah, yeah, we're going. Try not to scare all the birds in the grass this time, I don't like getting my eyes pecked out."

Gastly just grins at him and cackles. Every time that happens, Phoenix just feels a sinking feeling in his stomach... a lot like when something bad's about to happen in court, really. At least life is going to be...very spirited for awhile.

Current Characters in Route: Shinn Asuka

Character
Name: Berserker (Lancelot of the Lake)
Series: Fate/Zero
Timeline: Post-Death
Canon Resource Links:Spoilers for Fate/Zero

Personality:
Lancelot, first and foremost is a knight. Therefore, there is a compulsion for him to adhere to the concept of honor and justice, in addition of being chivalrous and polite to others he meets. And it is of no surprise that he'll charge into situations headfirst if given enough incentives to do so (ie. damsels in distress and others of the sort), which could be problematic for those he is traveling with. Though, this does have its own merit if you're really needing a loyal guy, since a knight is an embodiment of loyalty, be it to their king or their friends.

Beneath the knightly exterior, however, lies a knight who had been through a lot in his life, and desired death for the greatest treason he had believed he had done: breaking the Knights of the Round Table, courting Guinevere and taking the lives of his kind. To Lancelot, his salvation is death by his king's hand, and yet, she never gave him that luxury, and forgave him for it. This was inexcusable to him, which is the impetus for him to enforce Mad Enhancement upon himself when summoned as a Berserker during the 4th Grail War.

As enforced above, while Lancelot is above things such as mild teasing and bullying, Lancelot cannot truly condone breaches in promises as well as disloyalty, which angers him a lot since trust is something that he could never get in the end, and thus, hopes that other knights after him knows its true value as opposed to just discarding it on a whim. While he will not show any emotions apart from concern usually, events had made him into a knight that will be enraged with considerable amount of offense made, be it to himself by insulting his queen or king, or to others that don't deserve it.

The extent of his will to save those he cares about are also worth mentioning, as he was completely willing to risk his honor and life in order to save his beloved, which caused his own downfall in the legends. Therefore it is not a stretch that he will do all it takes to save his friends from despair or pain, even if it meant sacrificing everything that was important to him. After all, time and time again, loyalty and selflessness marks a true knight from the others during his age, even if his acts were hated by his own kin, especially Gawain.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+Loyalty: Should the person he is interacting with prove their worth to him, he will go to the ends of earth with him/her, and be a comrade for life.
+Politeness: He is exceedingly polite due to his upbringing, therefore he's easy to be around with.
+Swordmanship: He's one of the top knights in his era, being able to command such skills from his own weapons and wield any other thing effectively as a weapon. Not like that'll be much use here.
+/-Determination: He is definitely determined in doing something to the fullest, which would always help him when he's in trouble, or cause a problem should a retreat is more viable.
-Rage: There are times where Lancelot might fall into a berserk rage, which has a possibility of him harming his friend/loved ones
-Broken: Events had left him a broken existence, and while he hides it, it's obvious that to some, his words are merely empty, even though he will do what he promised to do.

Is it normal for two radically different creatures to be compatible in such a way?

[Truly, this world certainly keeps surprising him with all that happens in his current life with these critters.]

Third Person Sample:
It has been a month ever since he had been stuck in this very strange place upon his role's end in the Holy Grail War. While he has indeed grown used to an idle life with the absence of all semblance of knights, kingdoms and what not, the way these... Pokémon work still baffles him more than half of the time. Breeding is something he was... a bit familiar with considering the amount of calves he had seen in Joyous Gard during mating season, but the fact that a dark creature such as a Zorua could even copulate with a... Digglet remains to be one of the weirdest... mating couples he has ever seen in his life.

Though, all of those events could not compare with the fact that his king truly forgave and condones his action to the throne of Britain during that time. He had always believed that as a 'knight', a piece that is required for the kingdom to function with its king, his act of treason would've been unforgivable to all other and yet... Arturia forgave him, for she felt that both these 'pieces' deserved to love each other due to their circumstances. And yet still...

Lancelot of the Lake feels pain in his heart when he sees his strange couple being very close to each other, a searing pain that reminds him that the other side of him still exists. His restricted shadow, a beast unbound by honor and the values of a knight, a beast that wanted his own death as a way to truly atone for both their sins.

He realized that his right fist is clenched, and that both his Pokémon are looking at him with concern in their eyes, probably at the pained face he was making while having those thoughts to himself. Deciding that the time for self-pity is over for the time being, he rose and began folding back his tent in preparation to continue their arduous journey to the next town.

"...Come, we still have much to do."

Character
Name: Luke fon Fabre
Series: Tales of the Abyss
Timeline: Right before waking up in Tataroo Valley with Tear.
Canon Resource Links: Luke @ the Tales wiki!

Personality:
Luke fon Fabre is a needy, entitled manchild.

We'll go backwards from the end, starting with the manchild bit. I only wish this was less literal than it is, if only because it'd be more funny and less tragic: though he appears seventeen, Luke's only been around for seven years, as he's the clone of the original Luke fon Fabre (now calling himself Asch the Bloody).

He doesn't know this, however. As far as he is (and his family/servants are) concerned, he 'lost his memory' seven years ago and had to start from scratch: re-learning to walk, to talk, to write...and even more basic things, like his parents' faces, or how to use the bathroom properly. Not only has Luke in all this time never been allowed to leave his manor, on the pretext that he might be kidnapped again, all of this re-learning was left in the hands of unqualified servants (with the expectation that he would 'get better' eventually). This has left Luke stunted on multiple levels, namely socially and emotionally. For example, he lacks knowledge about geography, politics and history that his compatriots, even those (physically) younger than himself, find utterly basic.

On being 'entitled': as stated above, Luke has never left the manor in all his short life. Even though he is certainly capable of processing experiences and emotions like a normal seventeen-year-old, he lacks the life experience and maturity to do so properly. He's gotten used to having servants wipe his ass (figuratively) for him, and expects everyone else to treat him similarly. His sheltered upbringing is so extreme that, once faced with the outside world, he honestly wonders why people react negatively to his spoiled behaviour. He's used to having servants (and not friends), so he's extremely demanding of others, but takes their sacrifices for granted and offers little in return. He's used to getting away with skipping his tutoring, so he's lazy in almost everything except what interests him, or what advantages him. He's used to having all of his feelings validated, so he can't handle criticism. He has no impulse control and weak moral fibre. In fact, he's used to pretty much getting away with everything, so he's got confidence in spades and little to no self-doubt to compensate.

His arrogance is probably his biggest flaw. He's rude, he's downright mean, and hardly ever feels sorry for his behaviour. (Excuses, though, there's plenty of those to be had.) By the time he's come to realize that he's made a mistake or (god forbid) he's in the wrong, his pride stops him from apologizing or trying to fix things: instead, he pins the blame on others and refuses to acknowledge his own responsibility. And goodness knows he makes mistakes: his lack of social education causes him to get into trouble frequently, such as when he accidentally shoplifts because he presumes that, just like at the manor, paying isn't required.

He just goes on his way, either unaware or uncaring of the bridges he's burning. He's never had true friends (besides Guy, but Guy's his manservant, he doesn't have much of a choice), so he's never met anyone willing to level with him and teach him how to act properly as equals. He's so easily frustrated and impatient that his capacity to form attachments is limited, since he isn't willing to put in the work of maintaining a bond. Most of his relationships (pre-Defining Character Moment, that is) are caused either by necessity or by the other character going out of their way to be nice to him; it's doubtful he even realizes it. He's a bit like one of those high-end chihuahuas who've never seen the ground: when people do start to reach out to him, he snaps and bites.

As for being needy, well, that goes beyond just being dependant on others, which Luke definitely is. It's another trait that links Luke to his upbringing: because people who are willing to treat him like a functioning adult aren't a dime a dozen, when they do show up (especially when they pander to his aggrandized self-importance) he tends to latch onto them like a barnacle. He refers to his (backstabbing) swordmaster as the "only one who ever takes [him] seriously" and presumes the man can do no wrong, up until he falls into the man's trap and gets the crap manipulated out of him. With those he trusts—and while Luke doesn't like indiscriminately, Luke trusts very easily—Luke can be extremely malleable and eager to please, as he is naturally inclined to seek what he sees as 'real' praise and 'real' merit.

This isn't to say that he's entirely lacking in good points: if the latter two-thirds of the game tell us anything, it's that Luke has it in him to be an exceptional human being, should circumstances force him to change. The bases are there: he can be a hard worker (when he wants to), he can be extremely loyal (albeit often to the wrong people...and only when he wants to), and he learns and adapts at a blistering speed (you get it by now). While his moral values aren't anything to write home about, they are there. He legitimately wants to help, even if at first it's only because he's concerned about image. He does legitimately want to make something out of himself, even if he isn't sure how to go about it and tends to rush ahead without asking for advice. Ultimately, Luke is the world's oldest seven-year-old, and pretty much acts like it.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
☒ Bratty: would you like some cheese with your whine?
☒ Immature: it's also never his fault.
☒ Socially inept: tact?? Who needs it! Not Luke.
☒ Socially uneducated: how do I shot buying things???
☒ Spoiled: he's been raised by maids and servants. The whole 'living on his own' thing is new.
☒ Lazy: effort is haaaard.
☒ Temperamental: Luke has almost no impulse control, and this especially shows itself when he's angry.

☐ Malleable: his lack of socialization makes Luke particularly open-minded, but also very easy to manipulate.

☑ Physically fit: surprise surprise, the six-pack isn't a lie. Luke can handle himself.
☑ Quick learner: when Luke bothers to actually put any effort into anything, that is.

Luke's a clone, so the Zorua's a play on that. I chose Zorua instead of Ditto both to emphasize the magical (or at least, incredibly...unscientific) nature of Luke's cloning and the fact that his only resemblance to his original, Asch, is a surface one. Yes, they are ~perfect isofons~ (Sunny will know what I'm talking about), but they couldn't be more different in both skills and demeanour, so I chose Zorua knowing that its transformation, unlike Ditto's, broke under pressure.

[The feed opens to...an Abra. A sleeping Abra. Pretty normal Abra, actually. The camera follows the rise and fall of its little chest with an assiduity that almost seems alarming.]

I am gonna get this little sucker.

[That whisper would be Luke, who pointedly sets the camera down, presumably so that Johto can see how awesome his capture of his Abra will be. Somewhere close by, Zorua makes a long-suffering sound.

--and there Luke rushes forward, going in for the grab, only for the Abra to make its escape and leave him faceplanting against the ground.]

[A moment of silence, please. Zorua giggles.]

[Luke glowers at his pokemon, red-faced and expression flinty.]

This stupid thing's been running from me all morning! Why won't it stay in one place like a normal pokemon?!

[Someone might wanna mention that...that isn't the same Abra.]

Third Person Sample:
It had taken a while to get the hang of it, and a lot of near-misses. He hadn't wanted to at all, at first. He'd been insulted, in fact, to be asked to stoop so low, but the first time he'd returned to base with his spoils and seen his supervisor's eyes alight with...something, something that could have been pleasant surprise, I underestimated you, his pride had swelled and his ego had taken care of the rest.

Now, they had this down.

Luke waited by the pokemart, watching people go by, ticking them off as he went. This one too hurried, that one too slow, this one too flashy, that one too old... He wished they could just get this over with so he could get back to base. It was hot, and his long sleeves were doing nothing to help, the cheap shirt itchy against skin that had only ever felt the caress of the highest-quality fabric. With his hair swept up under a baseball cap, he was far less noticeable, but no less sweaty for his trouble—

—Ah, there. She was middle-aged, casually dressed, but still young and pretty enough for his purposes. She was a few steps past him when she went down, tripping over her own heels. Her cry of pain almost immediately brought a few good samaritans running: oh, please, ma'am, let me help you, the pokemon center's just down the road. She whimpered.

He didn't waste much time. He moved quickly, fingers nimble: he knew the different clasps, how to unlock them, tiny spheres disappearing into his sleeve. And then he knelt.

"C'mon, auntie, watch where you're going for once," he huffed, sliding his hand on her arm. The woman looked at him, and nodded fretfully, letting him help her up. He did his best to look apologetic to the two men. "Sorry, she's pretty clumsy. We were supposed to meet here, but I guess I'll take her to the center. Thanks for your help."

As far as he was concerned, he deserved some kind of award. That had gone pretty smoothly, and now he was already two over quota, which was totally gonna net him a bonus.

"You totally overdid it," he accused under his breath. Zorua huffed in protest, making a show of 'limping'. He had a bad feeling about this.

They got twenty, thirty steps away--

"Hey, my pokeballs! Stop, thief!"

Okay, so they didn't quite have it down pat, yet.

"Run!" He hissed. They bolted. There was the acrid scent of smoke, and then Zorua shifted and there were two of them, going in opposite directions. Sure, they still had the act to fix, but their exits were flawless.

milquetoasthero: (53. i used to be your biggest fan)

[personal profile] milquetoasthero 2012-06-12 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Personality: Ryoji sees opportunity in everything, be it in situations or in people. One might call him opportunistic, and maybe he is; he asks every girl he sees out when he first meets them, and manages to still smile if they reject him, since they could still be friends. It's why he's so flirtatious as well - along with the fact that, you know, MC's such a lady killler himself and Ryoji inherits the humanity the MC reflected on to Pharos once the twelve shadows have returned to him. He doesn't think back on the past (until all his memories come back to him -- and even then, he wouldn't worry over it for long here, since he's a full human without any nasty doomsday curse) and prefers to look at the future. Every day is something new and exciting to him, and he definitely tries to live each day to its fullest -- although, in all honesty, he'd be the first to give up his own "life" - in quotations because, as the anthromorphic personification of Death that he now knows he is, he can't actually die. You can't kill Death; you can only delay it, and his "death" would be the delay of the Fall, when Nyx comes to the world and despairs all of humanity into dying out.

And - maybe because he sees opportunity in everything - he's incredibly honest and forthright. If he doesn't know how to read a map for beans, he'll say it -- even somewhat happily. He's definitely not the kind of guy you should tell about your super secret crush on your best friend or whatever, since he'll end up spilling it to him without a second thought -- not with ill intentions, mind, but with only the best for both you and your best friend. He'll lovingly try to hook you two up and act as if you liking your best friend was the most common knowledge in the world. He's a bit of a blabbermouth, too; don't tell him anything you don't want spread around, unless you stress to him the importance of whatever secret it is you're telling him. He's also pretty gullible, despite the fact he has an air about him that says he knows what he's doing. (Spoilers: He doesn't.)

Especially with girls - although, maybe that's the one topic he does know what he's doing. He uses corny lines and genuine smiles to nail his seemingly insincere way of flirting with every girl and they never flop - although, if he were any other person, they would. When he finds a girl he's drawn to - incredibly drawn to, almost as if by fate - he becomes more serious and outright refuses dates with other girls. When he falls in love, he turns a little melancholic and wonders about himself more and - in the end, being the Appriser - feels heartbroken when things go awry because of himself. He doesn't want to hurt the girl he falls for (he's happy just being her friend, too, if she doesn't want to pursue anything romantic with him). Teasing, though, is on the table - in the form of gratuitous noticing of "couples" in the area.

Despite the fact he adores life and all it brings - friendships and love and things like that - he still gets incredibly depressed of being the cause of so much suffering in the days to come-- of why SEES had to fight, why everything's going to end-- he feels incredibly guilty over it, and while he has a great respect for life he doesn't have much respect for his own (considering he wants the easy way out for all of them involved -- that is, giving them an offer he's sure they can't refuse - killing him - in exchange for a peaceful death, unaware of the fact that Nyx is going to apathy them to death). He believes death to be inevitable and that one should just accept it; it happens to all living things, so why fight it? It's an incredibly melancholic look on it, even though he's incredibly upbeat, and surprises even his closest of friends.

And when he gets depressed - he gets depressed. He doesn't see any reason to fight, or any reason to hope, since death comes to all; his existing just brings pain and suffering. He falls down a (figurative) mountain of happiness and slams into a seemingly bottomless pit of despair surrounded by despairing spikes and despairs until he finishes his transformation into the Nyx Avatar by January 31st -- and the only reason he isn't despairing then is because Nyx is a neutral entity; it doesn't feel anything. He only gains the littlest of his humanity when - in battle - he switched to his true arcana, Death, and even then it's not a whole lot; he stays relatively monotone.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Charm. He's very charming, charismatic -- what have you. When coupled with his good looks, upbeat outlook on life, and flirtatious attitude, is it any wonder he tends to be popular wherever he goes?
+ Optimism. He's incredibly cheerful; not even rejection gets him down. The only thing that does is remembering he's the Appriser, a being that signals when the end is nigh. He's torn over it, because...
+ Humanity. He loves it. He loves life and all it holds-- despite basically being the anthromorphication of Death.
+ - Honesty. He doesn't like to lie and figures that everything should be known -- after all, we're all friends here, right?
- Hope. When worst comes to worst, he doesn't have it; it's replaced by a bottomless despair. - Coward. He'd rather take the easy way out - having the MC kill him so they forget everything and don't know they're going to be destroyed by Nyx - than try and fight.
- Gullible. Since he doesn't lie (as he has no reason to), he tends to think the same of others.

Along with something that's good to note but not exactly a strength or weakness -- he knows a lot about the tarot (being the personification of the thirteenth arcana, of course).

The Detentionaire wiki

Personality: Lee is your usual Korean-Canadian teenager in high school, and he doesn't really belong to any clique and doesn't want to be a part of any crowd. Lee if a loyal person to his friends, and a decent student and all around person, despite having a tattoo and dying his hair partially red. He is also confident in his abillities while he goes around the school during detention to get clues to clear his name from a prank on the first day of school and getting him one full year of detention and a full year of grounding, and is willing to put himself at risk in order to do so, especially if there was some sort of rewards for said risk.

During his time in detintion, he started becoming more in a bad mood, as noted by his friends and family, due to the stress of his attemps to clear his name. Lee is also has a snarky side to him, and did't care too much about popularity, especially after the prank that happened, do there is quite of lot of unwanted feeings towards his new-found popularity and wouldn't mind if he were to be a regular student again. During the course of the series, Lee was more lazy, if smart, about academics, especially not caring too much about gym. Which he got a 'C' in, much to the dismay of his mom, wanting him to get 'A's in everything. When he gets framed for the biggest prank of the year, and then gets detention and grounded for the year, his investigative side shows, with the help of a bully/friend in detention, called Biffy, who acts as his tech-savvy support.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths
+ Good at investigations
+ Good at using a skateboared
+ Loyal to his friends
+ Seemingly immune to hypnosis to a degree

Weaknesses
- Doesn't know much about surviving the outdoors
- Not the greatest motivated person, unless it's something that's really important to him.
- Snarky, so it may get him into some trouble.

[The video at first, is pointed at the ground, at some rocks and a dirt path. But it doesn't stay that way for long as it focuses onto a very pissed off looking Korean kid. He also seems to have red dyed bangs while everything else is it's natural black.]

Not funny Radcircles. If you're watching this right now, you better give me a good reason for why you put me here, and you better give it soon. I want answers. And I need them now.

[And with that, the video fizzes off.]

Third Person Sample: After turning off his Poketech, Lee hopes that he came across somewhat threatening, remembering what Biffy said and did the last time he called out RadCircles. He put the phone in his pocket, with a bit of a sigh.

"Chim?" Asked the small red monkey, pulling on Lee's pant leg. A curious look on his face.

Oh, sorry about that.” Lee said, bending down to pet him. “I was just sending a message to an old friend of mine.”

"Chimchar..." The monkey replied, still curious on what made his new trainer and partner angry like that.

The two continued down the path towards the next town, the Chimchar jumping on Lee's shoulder. Wondering how in the world he was going to set up camp later on, for the night, since he didn't really go camping in tents when he was younger, giving a frown at this. He'll probably just have to deal with the worse weather when it hits later on. Nobody would blame him for thinking that Pokemon was just a game that some of its fans grew out of when they hit high school, but here he was.

Waking up in strange room, talking to a lady who claimed to be his mom, and being given a bag and a Chimchar as a Pokemon partner and told he was on his way to becoming a Pokemon master. It was a lot to take in one morning, ‘Mom’ giving him a lot of grief before he was kicked out of the house to start his adventure. She sort of reminded Lee of his own mom back home, it somewhat made him homesick. Granted, it was no cakewalk with being framed for something he didn’t do, but it was a familiar place, so it didn’t suck so much.

Maybe beating the Elite Four would send him home, or maybe he would get some clues on how he get home quicker. This would probably take his mind off of things for the mean time.

Timeline:Post-Season 2 Finale.
Canon Resource Links:
Pinkie's MLP:FiM Wiki

Personality:
For the mostpart, Pinkie Pie is fairly straightforward. Her goal in life is to have fun and to make her friends as happy as they can be--and even happier! While she was growing up, she didn't really have any concept of the word 'fun', having to work with her family on a rock farm. One day, she saw a Sonic Rainboom and wanted to share the joy that experience gave her with others. That was the day she got her Cutie Mark--a symbol of three balloons to show her special talent of planning, setting up, and participating in parties.

Because of her excitable and relatively carefree attitude, there are some times where understanding Pinkie Pie can be difficult. She often spouts random phrases that are completely off the topic, or bursts out into song, which is odd even in their happy, fun, for-children world. Even her regular speech pattern differs from those around her, more speedy and sometimes seeming to never end. Her preferred method of transportation is to go around skipping on her hooves, and she is somehow able to "break" the reality. Pinkie can keep up with a speeding Rainbow Dash when the other attempts to escape her, even though she is going at a leisurely pace with her bounces. She even can pop into the frame or out of places she couldn't have possibly fit in. Initially, others are surprised or confused by such things, but they are generally accepted as part of her oddity. There are times, however, that there is a method to her madness. In all situations, Pinkie Pie is trying to change things for the better and brighter. Even when her friends don't quite understand her strange ways, she continues to march to the beat of her own drum--in the instance of ridding Ponyville from a swarm of parasprites, quite literally!

There are those times that she can't always stick to her upbeat nature, though. Like all people (and ponies!), Pinkie Pie does have insecurities. While her gift to the magic of friendship is the quality of laughter, she discovers that she doesn't enjoy it when others are laughing at her expense or when she is left out. In both situations she becomes the opposite of herself, instead being bitter, paranoid, and a little selfish. During 'Party of One', the pony is very clearly deranged when she thinks she is no longer part of the Mane Six. She throws her own party, having inanimate objects as her guests and talking with them as if they were real. Her hair even deflates to the straight hair she had as a filly, before she discovered how much fun life could be, but returns to its chaotic curly ways when she discovers the true reason her friends were trying to avoid her.

She may not be the type to be easily insulted, but Pinkie Pie does take offense to a few key things. Her main button is promises--when they are kept, everything is fine and dandy, but she takes them very seriously when they are broken. Pinkie even chases down her good friend Applejack when the other pony avoids going through with her vow to tell the truth, and in 'Green Isn't Your Color', she goes out of her way to make sure Twilight Sparkle spills no beans. Another point is how her friends view her. Even when she is overwhelmed by taking care of two newborns, the pink pony refuses to accept help from her friends because they admitted that they didn't think she could handle it all by herself. When the so-called Gabby Gums calls her out of control, Pinkie Pie is reduced to tears because of her "problem".

One thing for certain is that Pinkie is persistent, as shown in her interactions with Cranky Doodle Donkey and her musing about her edible creation of cherries and chimichangas combined, which both could have caused the committing to mental clinics had she not been called off or exposed to an alternative idea. Though it's not always her intention, she's actually also quite manipulative. She can trick shopkeepers into a lower prize, unintentionally cause others to consume sweets with her descriptions, and cause an enemy to imitate her on request.

Pinkie Pie has quite the sweet tooth, and has taken residency above a confectionery, which is also her place of work. She is a talented baker, but is more often seen stuffing sweets into her mouth. This habit of hers appears to cause trouble for several residents of Ponyville, but mostly her housemates and employers, Mr. and Mrs. Cake. Pinkie even "taste tests" every little thing prepared for an esteemed, expected guest, and in a later episode eats said guest's desserts when she thinks that Princess Celestia won't eat them herself. In 'Cutie Pox' she becomes stressed and nervous when she feels she must tell the truth, and fibs a few times before admitting to just how many corn cakes she devoured. Even so, her love of her friends will always conquer her love for sweets.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Upbeat.
+ Full of laughter.
+ Sense of humor.
+ Good-natured prankster.
+ Outgoing.
+ Trustworthy.
+ Great party planner.
+ Good at baking.

+/- Full of energy.

- Random.
- Doesn't always explain self.
- Glutton.
- When she's upset, she's UPSET.
- Oblivious.

Chalcedony, you have to put me down, silly! Gotta let everypony know I'm back!

[With a soft rumble, the Onix obliges, and Pinkie skips over to pick her gear up.]

Awh, it's on! Now it can't be a surprise... Would have been a really super surprise, too!

[For those who knew her before, the shock of bright pink, curly hair would be the final confirmation--Pinkie Pie was back in the pokemon world.]

Hey, guys! Has anypony seen Boink around? Where's that silly pig gone off to, now...

[With a final grin as a goodbye, the feed is clicked off. Later, the ex-pony can be found on top of her giant rock snake, calling to those below.]

ALL ABOARD THE CHALCEDONY EXPRESS! We head for Cherrygrove City within the hour!

[Anyone who wants a free ride is welcome to join her!]

Third Person Sample:
Two legs were so much easier the second time around, though it still took the young woman a bit before she was walking like a pro again. Or...as pro as she'd ever gotten, the last time she'd arrived in Johto. It helped that this time, the creature that had popped out of her pokeball was large enough to help Pinkie keep her balance.

She had decided to name him Chalcedony. There were very few things Pinkie Pie knew the ins and outs of--baked goods were one of these things, and the one that everyone knew about. Rocks and gems were the other, and even if she wasn't quite as skilled in that area as her friend Rarity, the pony still felt pretty confident. Growing up on a rock farm had taught her something other than the opposite of fun. Not only was chalcedony associated with harmony, but certain colors of it were called 'onyx'--and Pinkie had jumped on the connection.

As it were, this was quite literally the case. The excitement at finding the one perfect name had just been too much to not show with some bouncing about.

Once she had calmed enough to be at her general baseline of 'happiest mare around', the girl decided it was time to check on Johto life. "I wonder if everypony's still here," Pinkie mused, starting to dig through her bag for the pokegear. "Last time I came here was just after Hearth's Warming Eve. It's much warmer, now! The seasons here change all on their own, Chalcedony, isn't that crazy?"

Though she supposed it wouldn't exactly be crazy for him, being a pokemon and thus from this world, and all. The Onix rumbled a reply anyway, leaning down to nudge his trainer with his nose, which caused another soft pang of sadness in the pony-turned-human's gut. Her last starter, Boink, had been able to communicate with her, being a psychic type. It seemed like Chalcedony got no such luck.

"Guess we'll just have to get to know each other the Fluttershy way, huh...?"

Character
Name: Jade Curtiss
Series: Tales of the Abyss
Timeline: shortly after encountering Professor Nebilim
Canon Resource Links: Tales of Wikia

Personality: The Necromancer, a colonel, a skilled scientist and spellcaster, Jade Curtiss is a man of many hidden talents. Known mostly as Colonel for the Third Division of the Malkuth army, he holds himself with a quiet, passive pride and hidden strength. Although he's not a particularly noisy person, he can easily raise his voice and give commands when necessary, but this is often reserved for the battlefield. He can convince almost anyone to do something, answer a question, or step forward based on the tone of his voice, from gentle persuasion to sharp demands or something near a threat. But even so, Jade finds his own amusement in confusing people on his tone. When it comes to the little gang he travels with, they've often found him a tad alarming because the tone used in a situation would be so convincing.

The fascinating thing about Jade is he purposefully shrouds himself in mystery and can manipulate situations on will. Not just as a Colonel, Jade is quite a scary individual as a whole, whether one knows him or not. But, if anything, not knowing his secrets makes him a little less scary, since one is less likely to know or believe the rumors. Just his way with words is enough to get him to change situations to work in his favor, even if it has him resulting in blackmailing a royal (which he did, after planning quite far ahead) or lying to Luke's mother without batting an eye just so they could sneak away without worrying her.

But besides the wordplay, Jade's actually quite the comedian (depending on your humor, naturally). He's quite sarcastic, sometimes downright harsh, and because he can keep his tone so level, he tends to confuse people into believing he's being truly honest when he's really just entertaining himself. Because he's the oldest and tends to 'take charge' above Luke, he sometimes gets a little bossy with the children just to play around with them, like ordering Guy to explain something he easily knew the answer to himself, or telling Luke to do something unnecessary when in reality he's only trolling the young man. Sometimes his jokes fall flat with his serious tone--he's a master liar, which plays into his kidding remarks quite well. When it came to the Ant Lion Man in Chesedonia, Jade was quick to tell the group that the odd person had a family underneath the sand to which he threw their offerings, but with a shrug, he replied that it would have been a nice story were it true. Sometimes, one really has to wonder about this man.

However, he is definitely one scary being when he is mad. Although he controls his emotions with ease, he's not quite the most pleasant when he's unhappy. When he first faced Legretta and was quick to draw his weapon, he actually alarmed the group. During Luke's mishap at Akzeriuth, he actually had to leave the area to refrain from making any harsh, snarky remarks, and he held his tongue to keep from saying anything too mean. He's rarely mad enough to lash out, but when he does, it's definitely scary. But on the few instances when he's able to let loose--like when he went up against Dist, behind closed doors, he had the heather-haired God General screaming and begging forgiveness. (But this is normally when someone hits Jade in one of his few sore spots, like in the dealings of fomicry.) In a way, sometimes Jade feels satisfaction from getting revenge in small ways and having things work in his favor.

Thankfully, he's not just a troll. Jade's a very skilled wielder of the fonic artes, having taken, used, and mastered different aspects from a very young age. Currently, he can control the first six fonons, which is rare in and of itself, and he was even a powerful opponent when they had been sealed at the beginning. He can open nearly every fon slot in his body to make himself more powerful without the natural limitations of the body. When he was eight, he managed to manipulate his eyesight in order to give himself the ability of fonic sight, opening the fon slots in his eyes in order to amplify his own abilities. His glasses aren't used to correct his eyesight, but rather to maintain this ability and keep them from going out of control. He also helped invent fomicry, the science used to create replicas, both on living and non-living beings. From his experiments as the age of nine he had begun to hypothesize and write theories, of which Saphir (or Dist) aided with inventing the machinery to make this happen. He's known as the Father of Fomicry, but he's tried to keep this downplayed because he outlawed this science due to ethical and moral reasons. (Somewhere in there, he has a heart.)

Then, on the battlefield, Jade is nothing but a ruthless attacker. He's good in hand-to-hand combat, but he prefers using his spells in a fight. Due to his overpowered ability in the fonic artes, he's controlled and powerful when casting spells. But he's also quick on his toes, and very fit. This doesn't keep him from sneaky, teasing remarks on his own age, such as being too old or too slow for mere children's play despite having the physical prowess to keep up with them.

But even with all of these skills, Jade does his best to fit that role model status as many of the younger ones see him. He does his best to help them, and even though he doesn't like the concept of teaching he finds himself explaining things or helping them learn by his example or by telling them a correct way to do something through careful 'suggestion' (even if it comes out descending sometimes). He's not a complete nightmare to be around; under some circumstances. his company is preferred, even if he scares them from time to time. Overall, he's really not so bad... most of the time.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Physical Ability: Even without his fonic artes, Jade is quick on his feet and quite fit for a thirty-five-year-old man. He can hold his own in a fight, even if his abilities are stronger in the artes. Being a colonel of an army means he's got ability in there somewhere.
+ Mental Ability:
- Quick Thinking: He's good with coming up with lies or plans on the spot. This has gotten the little group out of many situations more times than they can count.
- Plans Ahead: He tends to think ahead in many situations, coming up with schemes and plans to aid their agenda into working flawlessly. Because he's more experienced, he tends to know when certain additional actions are needed, so he acts upon them and gets help when or if necessary.
- Level-Headed: He can control his emotions quite well and think through situations in a neutral mindset or think of a plan through to the fullest.
+ Kindness: despite how he acts, Jade is actually a rather caring person who tries to take care of those left in his charge. Many of his decisions are made so they're not hurt, or at least not as hurt as they could be. This isn't just for the little company he traveled with, but also with his soldiers and family, and even Dist.

x Hard to get along with: Even though much of his snark is just for fun, he has a habit of making others uncomfortable or just being colder than ice. Sad thing is he doesn't even care.
x Not Quite as Forgiving: When one's broken his trust, Jade becomes almost nothing but cold and harsh towards that person until they can manage to earn it back, but even then it's difficult to get him to trust them again. He doesn't attack them outright, but he doesn't go out of his way to be particularly kind to them either.
x Guilt Complex: This is usually what triggers his emotions. Due to both Fomicry and stopping people in the midst of the war, Jade tends to feel very guilty for what he and his actions have caused, especially when it's caused harm or brought death to another. He doesn't speak out on it, but seeing the fact that his science has harmed so many individuals and broken or changed so many lives really tears him up inside.
x Negative Reactions: When it comes to people like Peony who can easily get under Jade's skin, Jade tends to react more negatively or with more irritation in his nearly emotionless facade than planned, which makes him rather pissy or snippier than usual. He does not like when people crack his façade, and he either fights back with snide remarks or does his best to ignore it.

[There's the most subtle sound of Jade clearing his breath before he holds the gear up to eye level, staring quite evenly into it.]

Johto, was it? That's the name of this region, according to the map. I had a few inquiries, if you would be so kind as to humor me with a few answers. Judging by the land and the creatures encountered thus far, I'm fairly certain this is not on a land mass known as 'Auldrant', is it? On the off chance that it is, can anyone direct me towards Malkuth, more notably Grand Chokmah or Keterburg? If not, could anyone, if possible at all, explain how I may have come in contact with a hyperresonance that could have summoned me here?

[But then he pauses. Too many discrepancies concern him into thinking that perhaps the people of this land may not understand what he's speaking of. So he decides to dumb it down a bit and focus on one of the few necessities.]

If all of that strikes you as gibberish, then could anyone please tell me where I may find lodgings for the night?

Third Person Sample:
This was nothing short of peculiar. The woman who had called herself his mother was hardly his age, but she didn't seem to understand--or rather, she seemed too confused to understand--when he tried to explain. The most he could do was accept her lunch and the small set of items given, and he allowed her to shoo him out of the door.

...It was mildly disturbing that the lights had turned off as the door locked behind him, but no matter, he would just start this odd journey an try to find the others in the process. He doubted this was a kidnapping, not unless it was perfectly arranged and manipulated into the direct world structure of Auldrant as a whole--so he could only assume it was an unfamiliar, time-space destructive force of a fonic arte. An unexplained effect of a seventh fonon? Not necessarily a hyperresonance, not unless it was a powerful one they hadn't yet faced. But even Luke and Tear didn't seem this strong when teamed together... Nor Van Grants, even. He doubted Nebilim even had the ability to do something of this calibur, even if he awoke here after their cataclysmic battle against her. No, this was not normal, not normal at all. He'd definitely need to look into this when he returned to Malkuth, that was certain. Until then, he could explore a little.

But first, he needed to check his inventory. Sliding the backpack from his shoulders, he tugged the zipper open and peered inside. A sleeping bag attached to the bottom, a set of clothing, a package of travel snacks most likely meant for a child, a small, thin rope, and a ball. The ball was, by far, the most intriguing of the items due to the matching emblem on the backpack. It had a small, round button in the middle...

Shifting his thumb over it, he clicked it--

And it glowed. A light, dancing from the ball and splashing onto the ground, formed and morphed into a little sphere. A cell of sorts. Two large, molecular blobs not quite separated, surrounded in some sort of green liquid. What confused him the most was the face on the little creature. Two dark eyes, a little, pointed mouth, and... an odd cone on the side of its head. It seemed relatively harmless, if not peculiar. And, if he could be troubled to think so, it seemed a tad happy. Jade's red eyes couldn't help but focus on the creature, eyes studying it quite intensely. This was no ordinary science experiment, that was for sure. Nothing currently seen in the artes at all, nothing normal. It hovered, could move...

"So-lo!" it squeaked out to him.

"...so you can talk as well."

Jade wondered if this little monster was his. If so, he wanted to study it.

Character
Name: Sister Mimi
Series: Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch
Timeline: mid-episode 27, season 2
Canon Resource Links: Black Beauty Sisters (Mermaid Melody wiki)

Further information: Mimi and her older "sister" Sheshe together make up the Black Beauty Sisters, a pair of anglerfish granted humanoid form by the respective antagonists of both seasons in the Mermaid Melody franchise. Though loyal first and foremost to each other, the sisters serve whoever's resurrected them from the bottom of the ocean, as they don't want to return to the isolation of their natural habitat.

Villains therefore by both choice and nature, they serve as first a genuine threat and then comic relief, concocting scheme after scheme to capture the "mermaid princess" heroines of the series and failing each time. As the "fighting" in Mermaid Melody is done primarily through song, the songs they sing cause pain to the mermaids and vice versa; in true cartoon villain fashion, they usually almost have the mermaids within their grasp only for some deus ex machina to intrude. Despite this, they persist, buoyed both by their (considerable) egos, their desire to remain in their current forms - and, at this point, a pretty considerable grudge.

At Mimi's canon point, she and her sister Sheshe have recently squabbled: due to Mimi's recklessness and a clumsy misstep, the mermaids escaped yet again. After hurting each other's feelings Mimi left her sister behind, determined to capture the Mermaid Princesses by herself and therefore prove she doesn't need Sheshe's assistance. The only thing she's managed to do, however, is get herself hopelessly lost.

Personality:

Despite her abysmal track record, Mimi makes a very smug first impression. Both she and her sister have a bad habit of lording themselves over villains and promising their "employers" more than they can deliver, always with a cocky smile for outsiders and then a fond one for each other. Canon never states whether Mimi and Sheshe are biologically related, but it's absolutely certain that they treasure each other more than anything else. Not a scene goes by without them complimenting each other, conspiring together, or demonstrating physical fondness; Mimi's accustomed to hanging all over Sheshe's arm, and seems to particularly like getting tickled under the chin.

The only person with a higher opinion of Mimi than Sheshe is Mimi herself. Cheeky, insolent, and very much someone who lives in the present, Mimi's schemes tend to be concocted in the heat of the moment, and she's absolutely relentless in her cruel teasing of anybody she considers beneath her - which, frankly, is most people. Mimi's so convinced she's all that, she'll yawn while dodging attacks from irate co-villains; childish and occasionally flirty, she's also the more excitable of the two sisters. Overall, once off her high horse Mimi comes across as immature: cutely so, in some cases - she'll kick her legs back and forth if bored, and in one episode vents her stress by playing with bubble wrap - but in most others she's a bit of a quick-tempered brat.

Brattishness goes hand in hand with villainy. More than anything, Mimi gets excited by the thought of causing destruction, nearly squealing in glee every time she and her sister are ready to unleash another water twister/destroy a building/melt an iceberg/insert plan of the day. Water-related chaos meets with her special appeal, and anything with an aura of darkness or evil will feel soothing. (She also can't stand human cooking.)

Mimi's speech tends to be rather elegant, cocky, and drawling all at once; in addition to the usual villain habit of speaking about one's plans at length out loud, she's got not one but two catchphrases. As Sheshe's #1 fan and partner in crime, Mimi has a habit of saying "It's soo true!" whenever Sheshe makes an observation, eager to twin her opinions to her sister's conspiratorially. She's also likely to describe any potential act of destruction as "thrilling", often accompanied by a blush, a sigh, or a girlish pose. Mimi may not be very good at her job, but she definitely enjoys it.

Enjoyment hasn't led to improvement, however. Though neither of the Black Beauty Sisters seems capable of planning for the unexpected - hence their constant defeats - Mimi is especially guilty, and tends to create problems for herself. Because she's more likely to act in the present, heedless of her surroundings or the potential consequences of her actions, she pushes other people too far with her taunting and takes too many risks in "battle". Give her something to prove, however, and she's relentless - with no thought to her own safety, she'll stick around for the long haul. (Otherwise, she's more likely to run in fear and regroup.)

Mimi actually can be rather selfless, when it comes to people she cares about - she lets her heart rule her head. (She even has difficulty later fighting the Mermaid Princesses, for example, once she learns they're actually people she befriended while in disguise.) First and foremost, she'd do anything for Sheshe, and is more than willing to admit her mistakes if it means sparing her sister any hardship. Though not without her pride, Mimi does her best to protect her sister, putting her own safety aside to ensure Sheshe remains unharmed.

Arriving alone in Johto (and in the middle of a rare fight with Sheshe), she'll nonetheless do the best to prove herself capable of going solo. She just might get lonely along the way. :(

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Loyal once she cares...if a bit of a suck-up
+ Persistent and resilient (as only Saturday morning cartoon villains can be)
+ More a power than a strength: will retain ability to communicate with sea animals
+/- Unbelievable self-confidence/arrogance; difficult to ruffle, as a result
+/- If you manage to phase her, bit of a spitfire
- Reliant on her (here absent) sister
- Unlucky and often just plain clueless
- Reckless - pushes people, situations, etc too far
- Uses people; loyal to herself first and foremost
- Stock evil; can't stand happy or heartfelt music (it actually causes her pain)

[The feed turns on to an impressive sight! How Mimi's managed to commandeer a crane is anybody's guess, but there's definitely construction equipment standing next to this lake, with Mimi at the helm (in a hard hat, no less). Laughing triumphantly, she pats the controls, crosses her legs, and addresses the feed.]

Everyone~! Isn't it boring here? Guess then it's time to put on a little show!

Look over here~

[She pushes a button and cranks some levers; the crane activates, lifting a net slowly out of the water.]

Who needs "Surf" or a fishing rod? Everything in this lake now belongs to me! So sorry, poor little trainers in the - huh?

[The net is a writhing mass of orange bodies and yellow flippers. "Karp, karp," the contents say in confusion. "Karp, karp." There don't appear to be any other species.]

Oh........only that.

N-no one go anywhere!! I'll show you all! Prepare yourselves!

[A squeal, a "karp", and the feed cuts out.]

Third Person Sample:

The rain beat down on the windows of the Pokémon Center, droplets splattering against the glass like bugs on a windshield. Most trainers, breeders, or even Rockets would seek cover during such conditions - but Mimi comprised one half of the elegant, invincible Black Beauty Sisters. She hardly counted as "most".

Wriggling in place as she stared up at the sky, Mimi jumped for joy and spun around in the rain. Maybe a tree would fall over onto someone's house! All the little woodland animals were almost certainly ducking for cover. Maybe they'd all get soaked through - it'd serve them right, particularly all those rats that bit at her cute little fishes while she was traveling, and all those birds whose nest she'd stepped in that'd had the gall to chase and peck her mercilessly! Oohh, how they'd be sorry now!

"It's so thrilling," Mimi gushed into the wind, turning to stare up expectantly behind her. "Right, Sister Sheshe?"

But Sheshe wasn't there. Sheshe hadn't been there for weeks now. And still, Mimi kept making that mistake.

Oh, well! Why had her shoulders gone all slumped? This was an occasion to celebrate, the first in a long, long time. If only there were some way to control it herself...some way to take advantage of it....if Sheshe were here, she'd know what to do....

Letting out all of her Pokémon (water types, the lot of them), Mimi held her hands up to catch the rain. "Now, everyone!" she crowed. "Make it rain, harder and harder and hard - oopf!"

Who'd put that puddle there? Over she went onto her behind, lying in the mud as the rain beat down on her head. And while her Pokémon gathered around, asking in their ridiculous little voices whether she was all right, Mimi couldn't help but hug her knees. The storm was here. The followers were here. Everything was here but the most important thing.

"You'll be all right," her Chinchou said, resting a fin aganst her chin - but it just wasn't the same. "You're a strong girl, Mimi."

"It's - so true," Mimi agreed, hugging herself harder. For Sheshe's sake, and her own as well, she'd keep trying. She'd succeed, even if she was alone.

But for now, she was just one girl, outside in a puddle. And on top of all that, she'd just sneezed.

Character
Name: Iori Minase
Series: THE iDOLM@STER
Timeline: Post-Episode 13
Canon Resource Links: (character wiki) ; (general wiki)

Personality:

Basically, she's a tsundere.

Iori is an idol from 765 Productions, and leader of Ryuuguu Komachi. She is overly sweet and overly polite towards strangers and fans, though it's just an act she puts on. In reality, Iori is rude, condescending, spoiled, and prone to snapping at people if she doesn't get her way. She'll "punish" those who rub her the wrong way. She even disrespects people who are older than her, using terms like "anta" (a rude way of saying "you") for everyone she talks to.

Iori is very bossy. Whether it's in her idol group or with her friends, she always tries to be the boss and guide them around. She also tries to boss the Producer into getting things for her. Why? Because she's a "perfect princess-type" idol AND she's rich she can get what she wants! She definitely believes that the Producer should feel so grateful for getting to treat a famous star like herself! She can be extremely stubborn and tends to complain, as she is used to getting her way due to her family's rich background. She has an inflated sense of herself, in that she pretty much thinks she's Better than everyone (as she always refers to herself as a "Super Idol" or "Everyone's Idol"). She usually calls people "commoners" to add emphasis to her status.

However, Iori isn't very honest with her feelings, which isn't a surprise for her archetype. Though she's rude and straightforward, she isn't evil or mean-spirited. She can be nice, but it's tough for her to express her true feelings. Why? Because it's embarrassing for her. She doesn't like to show people her soft and vulnerable side and she has trouble thanking people. She doesn't like to rely on others unless she has to, since it also embarrasses her to ask for help. Her compliments tend to be indirect because she can't outright say it. And when she is complimented or praised by someone she likes (such as the Producer), she's happy but quickly flustered. She will stick up for her friends as well. For example, she took it upon herself to straighten out a rival idol group's producer when he was trying to play dirty and cheat. Despite complaining most of the time, she finally got serious in a competition when Makoto got injured because of her. Another example is when she gets mad about President Kuroi, knowing Chihaya was uncomfortable in his presence but wouldn't say anything about it. She acted up for Chihaya's sake anyway. Iori's actions speak much louder than her words, usually revealing her intentions. It's her indirect way of being nice to her friends.

Due to her family being extremely wealthy, Iori was alone most of the time when growing up. She had butlers and maids, but they weren't real friends to her, only flattering her or lecturing her. She had no one to talk to about her problems, which is the true source of her communication trouble. Iori is actually very lonely inside. She doesn't know how to act around real people, despite all her wealth and connections. Her only friend growing up is the stuffed rabbit doll she always carries around. He's been with her since she was a child. But even though she always carries it around, she never tells anyone his real name because it's Top Secret! Therefore she usually tries to trick people into thinking it's a very elaborate name, showing a sly, teasing side of herself. She can be a little mischievous when she wants.

In truth, Iori has kind of a complex. Her two older brothers are both very intelligent and successful in the world. She's always being compared to them by her family and their friends, criticized for being lazy and spoiled. Thus she wanted to prove to them that she could do her own work. To her, that was becoming an Idol. Being an Idol was like becoming a Princess in her eyes. But her family, specifically her father, thinks being an Idol is silly. They don't believe she could actually do it. Their disbelief in her ability and Iori's pride motivates her to work hard. Becoming Top Idol (the highest award for an Idol in canon) means getting their respect.

Despite her difficult attitude, she likes people who are honest and genuine, which is probably why Yayoi is her closest friend. People who are fake and underhanded earn her disdain, such as President Kuroi. Over the course of the anime series, Iori learns to cooperate with her friends and work together as a group, even with Miki, who she isn't that fond of for the nickname Miki gives her all the time. In the end, Iori takes her job seriously, despite whatever excuse she says. When she puts her mind to it, she can accomplish anything.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

can sing and dance well, since she's an professional idol
her visual appeal is pretty good
has a high rate of achieving, if she puts the effort in
SHE FIGHTS FOR HER FRIENDSSSSS (discreetly)
in the end, she means well (despite her attitude)

difficult personality
dishonest with herself
overinflated ego
bossy as hell
has a serious chip on her shoulder because of her brothers

Ah, um, hello everybody ♥! [The video begins, Iori staring bashfully into the camera. Weird. Somehow it feels bad, like an expression you can't really trust...] I realize this is an entirely different place from Japan, so you may not recognize me like people normally would back home. In that case, I can forgive you this time ♪

Well Johto, it's none other than the world's most beautiful Super Idol, Minase Iori-chan, leader of Super Idol unit Ryuuguu Komachi! Nihihi~♪ It's okay to get excited. After all, you're looking at the face of perfection here!

Now, where do I find a cab to the next town? The faster I can win all the badges, the faster I can go back to my illustrious career!

[Please don't tell her she has to actually walk...]

Third Person Sample:

"What do you mean I have to walk?!"

Well.

Everything was even worse than she expected.

To start it off, she was suddenly kidnapped in the middle of night, abducted and apparently put in a complete stranger's house. When she woke up, there was a woman who claimed she was her mother, giving her a bunch of things before booting her out of her house and locking the door.

(Haah, but even if she was her mom, she'd have a much better house than that!)

Judgments aside, Iori barely had a moment to ask a question or utter a protest before she was thrown in with the rest of the crowd, left alone in a town she didn't know. She didn't have any of her personal belongings, except the clothes she was wearing yesterday and Usa-chan clinging tightly to her arm.

New Bark Town, this place was called. Well, that was what the sign said. It was small. Painfully small. There was nothing particularly special about it, as far as she could tell. Only that there seemed to be a lot of other people in her situation, confused and wondering where they are. She pieced it together eventually, checking her so-called Pokédex (which was mysteriously in her pocket. The mere thought that kidnappers touched her-), but that didn't mean she was happy about it. If they just kidnapped her to send her on some dumb journey, why did they go this far?

She couldn't understand the motive behind this. It was too elaborate for a prank. And what was she supposed to do about her career back home? Ryuuguu Komachi couldn't function without their leader! She tried to call Ritsuko, or even that unreliable Producer, but her phone couldn't get a signal.

It was frustrating.

But through all the information she was given, Iori honed in on the most important part- the way to get back home. Just earn all the badges, right? How hard could that be? There was nothing perfect idol Iori-chan couldn't do!

There was only one thing.

She actually... had to walk all the way?! To each city?!

"You've got to be kidding me--...!!!"

And on top of that...

She was given a Pokémon that wasn't even cute and pretty like her!

"Mawile" the Pokédex told her. A steel type pokémon, a deceiver of appearances, although to Iori that didn't mean anything. What bothered her most was how completely creepy it looked. Even though it said they were horns, aren't they secretly huge jaws in disguise?! They looked like they could crush her body in two. How could they give such a frightening creature to an idol as glamorous as herself?!

"Kgh... Why is this happening?" She groaned, holding her bunny doll close to her chest.

...

"And who keeps playing that music?!"

Her parents argued non-stop, and she shut herself off from the world, even going so far as living alone in an apartment. Thanks to all of the fighting, she stopped socializing, stopped interacting with others. For the longest time, she had a bitter view of people, and it still shows from time to time. She joined choir to improve her voice, but made no friends, and focused only on getting better. Now, she’s often seen as “cool and silent,” though some people consider her to be “heartless” instead. She lives a lonely, modest life where most of her kitchen utensils aren’t even unwrapped, despite living in her apartment for more than a year. Even some of her boxes haven’t been unpacked--only the things she uses are out, including a picture of her brother.

Joining 765 Pro idol studios changed her, however, even if she didn't intend it to. She decided her best chance to become a successful singer was to become an idol, but doing so required her to interact with others. Slowly, she’s been able to show compassion again, and she’s beginning to grow used to socializing again. It’s a slow process, though. She still doesn’t smile often, and she gripes when there’s non-singing work to be done...but when she’s told to, she pulls through with the support of her new friends. In fact, when three idols (Haruka, Yukiho, and Makoto) get to sing at a festival, Chihaya is stuck working the sound equipment and stares on with envy.

Thanks to working as an idol, she’s also becoming more forceful and helpful. Already seen by some as heartless and cold for how she rarely speaks and how harsh she can be, she now speaks her mind more often, and encourages others to work hard with her. She’s not the kind of person to say “Everything will be fine!”, but she is the kind who will say “Let’s keep practicing until the situation changes so that we’re ready.” While initially only friendly with two other idols (Haruka and Azusa, who is more like an older sister figure), she begins to take charge more often, her experience and patience also helping to hold the group together. The group listens to her instead of seeing her as a loner type, and while she was always included, Chihaya has been able to make her voice stand out with everyone else’s instead of shutting others out and sitting in the background.

After one performance where Miki did two heavy dance routines in a row, Chihaya also shows that she has a strong camaraderie with her fellow idols after all this time. Though brief, an encouraging show of support takes place. Though prideful, for the first time, Chihaya is shown truly supporting someone and being proud of someone.

Chihaya: You were amazing, Miki. Now it’s my turn.

The singer then proceeds to walk past a breathless, tired Miki and keep the crowd going.

Despite her heavy love for singing and her slowly opening up to others again, Chihaya Kisaragi has her own fair share of character quirks. Though no one else knows it, she is extremely fond of Kabuki and Greek Architecture. She is also a huge fan of vanilla ice cream, ignoring her no-sweets rule for it. She has a complex about her bust size as well, being flat-chested. Being the kind of person who rarely complains, though, these rarely come up unless you read her facial expressions. One of her biggest weaknesses is puns. She rarely smiles or laughs, but lame jokes make her crack up. In that aspect, she’s still very childish. She also has a strong fondness for dogs. As she lives alone, she is very self-reliant, relying on herself only to take care of the chores. Surprisingly, though, she can’t cook. After appearing on a cooking show, though, she has started trying to improve in that area. She also is terrible with computers. In the first episode, she thinks a bigger iPod has more memory and doesn’t understand that memory isn’t always about size.

All-in-all, though, Chihaya is that girl who won’t talk or open up to people. It takes a lot of work to get to know her. She always sits by herself. She speaks calmly, quietly, and coldly, and she rarely refers to someone by their first name. She is often lost in thought, choosing to internalize things rather than sharing them with others, still. She wants to keep everyone at a distance, it seems. However, talking to her can be very difficult. If you greet her the wrong way or get in her way, her tension can rise and she will lose her focus or snap or just not do her best job. She doesn’t show it, but she still does care for others in her own way. If she cares for someone, she will help them however she can. Whether it’s walking home with someone or helping them with their training, she’s not completely heartless. She's so used to closing herself off and pushing others away, but she's on the verge of change. Only time will tell how much Chihaya Kisaragi will open up.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+Excellent singer. Really, one of the best. There's nothing she wants more than to sing, and her voice is amazing from years of practice.
+Devoted to her goals. Nothing will get in her way of singing. From her diet to her jobs, she has her goal in mind at all times.
+Independent. Chihaya is used to living alone, and can take care of herself quite well (except when it comes to cooking, which she's trying to improve on).
+Physically strong. Being an idol requires stamina, coordination, and the ability to move quickly. Chihaya is no slouch of a dancer, even if she'd rather sing.
+Learns quickly. Lyrics and dance choreography aren't as easy as they look, especially if you're going on stage.
-Socially Distant. Well not as closed off as she used to be, she still has a long way to go. She doesn't talk much to people she doesn't know well.
-Easily flustered. Whether it's puns or something not going her way, it's not too difficult to rile her up and embarrass her.
-Can come across as uncaring. Due to years of not having friends/pushing others away, she can come across as blunt or cold. Her friends know her better than that, though.
-Bad with electronics. How do I iPod?
-Stubborn. If she doesn't want to do something, she'll say so. She'll usually come around in the end, but there are times when she puts her foot down.

Character
Name: Archer
Series: Fate/Extra
Timeline: Post!Seventh Round; Female Protagonist (Rin Route)
Canon Resource Links: Type-Moon Wikia Entry || Type-Moon Wikia Entry (Main Series) || Walkthrough that includes all routes.

Despite the fact this Archer’s past is heavily kept a secret by comparison to what’s discovered about his counterpart of the main series, it’s heavily hinted at that these two are either one in the same or much of their history is the same in that he was once this person. Archer makes vague references to other characters of the main series in Fate/Extra, as well his estranged connection to Tohsaka Rin.

For simplicity sake, this Archer will be treated as a separate entity from the Archer of the main Fate/Stay Night series. Any relation to characters of the main series will be played by ear, but ultimately his connections lie with his current Master and those met throughout the Moon Cell’s Holy Grail War.

Personality: One does not gain the title of “No Name” by having much of his past being discovered. To that end, he can be considered quite the secretive person. Not much is known about his life before becoming a Heroic Spirit, but he is generally seen as something of a cynical individual, many of his conversations with his Master throughout the Holy Grail War ending in mostly harmless verbal abuse. At times this nature of his can make him come off as a grumpy old man as he reminisces about pieces of his past and about other topics not to do with himself, such as discussing vampires. Though he’s sarcastic at times, it’s also how he tends to give advice. He is not much of a liar but he keeps many secrets. Despite these tendencies, however, Archer is one who is all too familiar with the battlefield and when to be straightforward and to the point. To that end his devotion to his allies (particularly his Master) is unprecedented. As a Servant his life is dedicated to the one that commands him, ready to protect his Master with his life if needed be. That being said, in the Holy Grail War, losing one’s Servant is equal to losing your own life as a Master; with a strong fighting spirit and great wisdom and skill in his class, he always carries forward to the best of his abilities to obtain victory. Over time his overall attitude around his Master shifts to a more kind and protective role. Though there is an edge to his words from time to time, this shows that he is a soft-hearted hero deep down that can open up to the people he trusts and cares about. Along with opening up comes an easier time in actually teasing or getting Archer flustered. Though still difficult to do at times, his Master had learned to “bark back” so to speak and even nearly caused him to fall off his chair at one point (to which he tried to play off like it was nothing). To his enemies, however, he can be downright insulting and has a tendency to goad them on and taunt them.

It can be speculated, however, that his softer side is a shadow of his previous life. As a Heroic Spirit, Archer can be considered almost fictional in a sense. As Heroic Spirits are considered legendary in history, he is a rather unorthodox case as he is not a natural born hero. His name was long since forgotten by time, hence his identity is considered “No Name”, but he willingly sold over "his self after death" to the Moon Cell as a compensation for a miracle. This miracle was to save the lives of many people that he otherwise could not have done with his own power. To that end, Archer is considered the personification of an ideal. The “Ally of Justice”, a superhero that would save everyone even at the cost of his own life. Employed as a concept after his death, though Archer is shaped as the “Ally of Justice” people desired, he is considered a Servant instead of a hero.

The source of his ideal was once a young man who walked the path of a superhero. Though it isn’t concretely stated in Fate/Extra, it is speculated that the life that Archer lead as a Servant is similar to the one he lived in the main series, Fate/Stay Night. Betrayed by his own ideal after being forced to kill to save many more people, it could be one of the many reasons why Archer is the aged, cynical man that he is in the Moon Cell’s Holy Grail War. Ultimately, he remains devoted to his Master despite what is speculated of his past life, summoned to win the Holy Grail.

A hero with no name.
A fictional Heroic Spirit.
Faker.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

Strengths
If his past self is any indication, his housekeeping skills are absolutely exceptional, along with being a decent cook (Japanese cuisine being his forte). Strong and determined both in body and mind, Archer has a great tactical mind and can formulate strategies rather quickly. This comes from facing enemies that should be stronger than he is and single-mindedly focusing on the one thing that he is good at and perfecting it. With his powers, that comes down to Projection (or Tracing), a magecraft that involves analyzing the structure of a weapon (typically a sword) right down to the history and its user’s techniques and replicating the weapon for his own use. As far as Pokémon battles are concerned, this can easily transfer over into taking the strengths and weaknesses of his Pokémon and his opponent’s and assessing the best way to victory (or a tactical retreat if needed be).

Weaknesses

Though not exactly weak by any means, by comparison to most of the enemies he’d faced in the past, they were considerately stronger than he was. Relying on his cunning can only get him so far before he’s outright overwhelmed. Seeing as Archer has placed up so many walls around himself it’s difficult to see weaknesses in him. Vague as it may be, being reminded of his past (especially bringing up Tohsaka Rin of who brings up a suspiciously dodgy side of Archer) can cause him to effectively clam up. Though that is more of a typical case-by-case basis as he has discussed his past before with the likes of his Master, particularly his exploits as a hero.

First Person Sample:

[one would think that someone in Archer’s position would be more alarmed and worried, but if anything he almost seems…disappointed? no, that wasn’t the proper term. uninterested? close enough. he’s leaning against the back of one of the houses in New Bark Town where he’d just arrived, not thinking to leave down the designated Route 29 just yet. the PokéGear is in his grip and the video feed is on as his stern expression can be seen. thoughtful was the best way to describe his expression now…]

“A world of dreams and adventure with Pokémon awaits." [the dark-skinned man can’t help but close his eyes at that, smirking before shifting the focus of the device away from him and down to the little pink blob blinking up at its master with beady black eyes] Ditto?

This is going to be quite the adventure if this is supposed to be my partner. Seeing as my regular partner seems to be missing in action, I’ll have to make do with… ……. [he pauses, the camera still on the little Pokémon looking up at Archer expectedly before gleefully crying,] Ditto~!

I’ll call you Ditto. [somebody’s still getting used to the way naming a Pokémon works. but that’s the way it is. Ditto is Ditto, and the little blob seems perfectly content with that as it lays there beside its Trainer]

So then, [and now the focus is back on Archer, whose expression turns to something a little more serious] I’ve read this little “trainer’s guide” already. Guess my only choice is to head down Route 29. [his gaze shifts away from the camera for a moment, looking off in the direction of said Route 29 leaving New Bark Town]

That is, I would…if I was completely convinced. [he’ll get straight to the point, since he doesn’t know if someone will answer him or not when he speaks out] Where am I really?

Third Person Sample: “You can either follow me or get back in your ball. Your call either way.” Having spent enough time lingering around the edges of New Bark Town and getting accustomed to the way this world worked, Archer slipped his backpack on, the weight feeling foreign on his back. He was so used to not having to carry much of anything to begin with, or even having his weapons manifest in his grasp from thin-air. It had admittedly been an awkward moment for the red knight when he threatened his ‘Mom’ with a pair of swords that never appeared. Shouting ”Trace on!” when nothing happened? Thinking back on it even now caused him to frown, though any traces of a blush were hard to find on such a tanned complexion. Everything felt so bizarre and out of place. He could no longer feel the presence of his Master. No longer was there an influx of magic coursing through him as a powerful Heroic Spirit. Just the blood that made him…human.

(Human…)

That was exactly right. Archer was a human now. Though it initially caused him to panic (though his version of panicking would look very calm to anybody else), he realized that there was nothing to concern himself with. Even if he was still a Servant, his Independent Action ability granted to him as an Archer would allow him to last for a couple of days even without a source of prana. Despite the fact that it seemed he now had ample time to get his bearings straight, his priority now became that of either finding his Master or finding a way back to finishing the Holy Grail War. Strong as she had become, she was hopeless without him. Or maybe…just maybe, Archer was hopeless without her. Had their bond become that strong? Had they truly come so far together? Apparently so if it meant he doubted his existence in this world and believed it to be a Reality Marble at first. Though he’d come to accept his fate here in the sense that he had to play by the rules. No swords, just him and his new companion of a Ditto that fumbled behind Archer as he made his way out from New Bark Town. From a bystander’s viewpoint it would have looked as though the Servant didn’t care for his Pokémon, but his pace was much slower than usual. Enough so that the Ditto didn’t miss a single beat and stayed right behind its trainer, working desperately to keep up.

As he reflected on his predicament, it became all too perfectly clear that as a human, he may as well have been no different from his Master now. If anything…he was the Master and this Pokémon was the Servant whose purpose was to fight for him and protect him. Meaning that whatever was out there in this vast and wide world, Archer wouldn’t be able to take it on alone. And though his back had remained turned to the obedient Pokémon, it was for the sake that he had no choice but to lay his trust within Ditto to be the eyes in the back of his head. Archer would be the one to trek beyond the horizon and take on everything in front of him while Ditto would be the one to have his back. When he thought about it that way, it was almost comforting…

“… I don’t know what counts as exercise for you,” he suddenly stopped as he turned around to look down at the blob of a monster that looked up to Archer, seemingly confused as to why they stopped in the middle of the road as well. Seriously, he had no idea given its body type…or lack thereof. “But I’m gonna put you back in the ball for now.” Reaching for the little ball attached to the Servant’s waist, he clicked the button on the front of it to cause it to morph in size, pointing it down in the direction of Ditto. Just as he was about to return it, however… “…?” Ditto looked disappointed for some reason. Don’t ask how Archer was able to tell, but it wasn’t for the fact that it was being put back in the Pokéball. Was Ditto too slow? It didn’t want to disappoint its trainer since it wasn’t like most Pokémon. Before it could dwell on what it did wrong, however, Ditto was met with a small yet confident smile from the towering Servant.

“I’m the slow one here. If you want, I’ll teach you to keep up with me better when I’m ready. If I can run faster, I’ll figure out what I have to do sooner.”

If this really was all supposed to be real and he was away from the Holy Grail War, then Ditto was more familiar to this than Archer was. Archer was the one who had much to learn now. After a brief yet mutual staredown between Archer and Ditto, he couldn’t help but lightly huff and shake his head. “I’m cheering up a walking pile of goop…”

Despite his words, it seemed that Ditto understood what Archer had meant, perking up almost immediately with a smile as it waited for its master’s command.

“Return.”

Space Police
Abalon Demar
Gil Mudflap, Abalon's brother
As you can see, there isn't a ton of information about Abalon. He's a minor boss character in a relatively unknown game. If this information isn't enough, I can certainly provide more!

Personality: Were you looking for the most self-centered, stuck-up guy in the Space Police? No? Well you've got him now. Abalon Demar is known on Puffon (the Wind Planet and home of the Space Police Headquarters) for being one of the coldest Space Police officers. His personality can easily be summed up by saying that he's very narcisisstic. He truthfully adores himself more than anyone else - including his "brother" Gil Mudflap (whether or not they're actually related is never stated). Abalon follows the orders he is given by the Space Police, but his loyalty ultimately belongs to himself. His position in the Space Police is only a job, after all. It's a job he clearly has fun with though, as he proves when he annihilates the natives of the Holy Water Pyramid when he tries to obtain the Water Millennium Gummy.

Abalon can be quite the charmer when the need arises. How else would he have gotten so high through the ranks? He quite literally uses abilities to charm the party in-game, so it's likely he utilized these skills to gain his current ranking. He might have gained his rank through dishonesty, but Abalon is a skilled fighter. He's often assumed to be weak due to his effeminate appearance, but he certainly isn't. He will use this to his advantage though; you underestimate him, you get stabbed in the face. He is very good at stabbing people in the face. He destroyed everyone in the Holy Water Pyramid on his own; the Space Police were stationed outside. Abalon fights the party on his own as well, unlike his brother who has two Space Police officers with him. Abalon's fighting skills aren't limited just to charming and stabbing people with swords, however; he's also a skilled magician. The majority of the characters in Magical Starsign use magic, and Abalon is no exception; he's a Water-aligned character and uses ice magic that he fires from his hair. His charming abilities are also based in magic, though it helps that he's very pretty.

When it comes to people, Abalon places them in two categories: important and useless. Those in the former category will be buttered-up and charmed indefinitely, or at least until Abalon has gotten what he wants from them. Those in the latter category will be ignored and possibly tormented if Abalon has nothing better to do with his spare time. It's very rare that anyone actually makes it into the important category without Abalon needing to use them in some way. He's not very fond of relying on others - though like all the Space Police Officers, he'll send his subordinates to do his dirty work for him. He does know his limits and he acknowledges them - Abalon decides to release Magnus Muzzleflash from prison because he believes Magnus will be useful when it comes to obtaining the Millennium Gummies. He can't do it himself, so he'll rely on others, but that's only if he really can't accomplish something on his own. He fights the party by himself because he's certain he can defeat them. While he does acknowledge his own limits, he horribly underestimates almost everyone, which ends with him getting beaten up by a group of children.

Abalon is ruthless; he pursues his goals with carefully calculated plans that prove he really is worthy of his position in the Space Police. He attacks the Holy Water Pyramid with a group of Space Police troops and a spacecraft that has a barrier, meaning that no one can interfere while he wipes out the temple's inhabitants and takes the Water Millennium Gummy. Of course, the party manages to get in there and defeat Abalon before he can leave with the Gummy, but he gets very close to actually accomplishing his goal there. He has no issues killing an entire race of people just to get at the Gummy, and he has no issues letting an entire planet die all to ensure that the party won't be able to follow Master Kale to Nova (which is why they're collecting the Millennium Gummies). Abalon's final appearance on Gren makes that plain enough; he didn't set the fire that was destroying the forested planet, but he wasn't using his water magic to put out the fires either.

So we have a cold, ruthless Space Police officer who charms his opponents and underestimates them, all while planning things out and destroying others to ensure the party won't be able to obtain the Millennium Gummies. It's overkill, yes, but Abalon doesn't have any issues with that. The ends justify the means, after all.

Strengths/Weaknesses: ✔ Abalon is both a skilled swordsman and a magician. While he doesn't actually use a sword in the boss battle, Abalon is shown wielding a sword quickly enough to terrify his brother, Mudflap. His magic centers mostly around charming others, but he's capable of shooting ice from his hair. Yes, his hair is magical too.
✔ He's very charming and he knows how to read people quite well. If he wants something from someone, he'll be an amazing friend and companion, doing everything he can to help. The second he has what he wants, he'll lose all interest, however.
✔ He's also very charismatic and he's a born leader. Abalon bosses around all the other Space Police officers (with the exception of Brie, though they're never shown interacting). He's left in charge while the head of the Space Police, Fowler, is out. His charisma has helped him rise through the ranks quickly and is part of what keeps him near the top. The other part is his ability to command and fight, of course.
✔ When it comes to planning, Abalon really can't be beat. Once he's given an assignment, he'll ruthlessly pursue it. He had a barrier created around a spacecraft to ensure that no one would interfere when he was attacking the Holy Water Pyramid to retrieve the Water Millennium Gummy. His plan would have worked too, if it weren't for those meddling kids.
✘ Abalon is from a world that relies on magic. He's not used to doing anything without magic, including maintaining his stupidly long hair. That's going to be a challenge.
✘ Pride is one of Abalon's biggest issues - he's aware of just how beautiful he is and he enjoys the power that comes with using his good looks to his advantage. He knows he's a skilled fighter and one of the toughest members of the Space Police. He tends to underestimate everyone else because he is so skilled.
✘ Appearances mean more to Abalon than anything else. He couldn't care less about his own brother because he's... well, he's kind of a giant Muk, to be perfectly honest. Abalon still calls him "brother," but it's obvious that he doesn't care.
✘ To be honest, Abalon doesn't care about anyone but himself. He spends the majority of the time he's on screen talking about himself and what he's capable of. He tends to take everything as a personal insult even when it's not meant to be.
✘ He has no issues wiping out an entire race of people to get at the Water Millennium Gummy. "The ends justify the means" and all that. So yeah, he's a bit crazy.
✘ He comes from a series that involves Pirate Otters in Space. It's kind of hard to take him seriously.

Pokémon Information
Affiliation: Team Rocket
Starter: Clamperl ♂ - Though Clamperl isn't allowed for a Team Rocket starter, I believe it would be the best fit for Abalon. Not only is it an accurate representation of what Abalon wears, but Clamperl's evolutions are perfect matches for Abalon as well. Gorebyss is an effeminate-looking Pokémon that is skilled in Special Attack, while Huntail appears more threatening and balances Attack and Defense. Either evolution would be suitable for Abalon, but I plan to go with Gorebyss.

First Person Sample: Gil! Get back here this instant, you slimy little--!

[Is it really any surprise to see Abalon shrieking at the escaping Grimer? It shouldn't be. This has become a routine for them.]

I swear, one of these days, Gil...!

[And look, Abalon's even finished putting on his makeup today! The red eyeliner's a little thick, but obviously he was in a hurry to rush out the door and capture his escaping Grimer!]

You're a pathetic, worthless waste of space, you horrific little slimeball! I'll return you to the wild if this keeps up!

[Abalon stops shaking his fist at the retreating Grimer to turn toward the Gear. His expression is openly horrified once he realizes that he's being filmed.]

Wha--? Ugh! Turn that thing off! How dare you! This is not funny!

[From the giggling behind the camera, it seems his Pokémon disagree.]

Third Person Sample: Abalon Demar had made one terrible mistake when he wandered out toward Cherrygrove to explore. He had fought all the trainers along the route, mostly due to boredom, and he had waved them off as soon as he was done beating their Pokémon up. He must have said something to one of them that caught their interest, however, because there was this one trainer who would not stop calling him.

"It's like my Rattata is in the top percentage of Rattata! Know what I'm saying?"

Abalon's right eye twitched violently. He loosened his grip on the Gear so as not to crush it in his hand and smiled and nodded pleasantly. "Yes, of course, I understand." I'm going to throttle you the next time I see you, brat.

The boy continued on about how he had nearly caught a Pidgey, but it escaped at the last minute, and Abalon considered taking the time to go all the way back to that Route so he could teach the boy a lesson in manners (not that they were something Abalon cared about for the most part, but still). He was sick and tired of listening to this kid prattle on about his damn rat.

"Listen, Joey, or whatever your name is. Stop calling me. I don't care about your Rattata. I don't care about your adventures trying to catch a Pidgey. I. Don't. Care."

The boy looked more confused than anything else and Abalon sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "You're a pathetic little trainer who hasn't improved in the three weeks I've known you. You haven't managed to catch anything, and yet you feel the need to inform me of your "progress" every day without fail. As much as I appreciate the effort - that is, I don't appreciate it at all - do stop calling me. It will keep me from finding an excuse to go all the way out there and strangle you. Because really, at this point that seems to be the best option."

Youngster Joey stared for another minute before happily repeating that his Rattata was in the top percentage of Rattata! He then ended the feed.

"I'm going to kill him. I swear, I am going to kill him."

Personality:
Ami lives for fun! It's a creed that she and her twin sister, Mami, share, ever since they were little, and one of their only goals in life. Whatever they do, they do it because it will be entertaining. From imitating their fellow idols to video games to harmless pranks, they always do it for the purpose of comedy and entertainment value. In fact, they cite the reason for wanting to become idols in the first place is because of how fun it'd be! Surely, once they become top idols, every day will be fun and laidback. At least, that's how it works in their minds.

It may seem, due to their fun-loving nature, that they'd be lazy and unwilling to work, but the opposite is actually true. The twins find fun in diligence and hard work. They love being idols, and they love the work and training that has to be put into becoming a top one!

Of course, they aren't without their flaws. Ami can get very restless and whiny when things aren't fun and don't go her way, such as when Ritsuko forces her to do work with Ryuuguu Komachi as opposed to playing video games with Mami. They can be irritable and uncooperative when they feel like something isn't fun, but with a little direction, both of them are able to pull through and buckle down.

While generally, you get the Futamis as a set, they do have their differences. To begin with, Ami is directly called more immature than her younger sister, Mami. Mami usually acts as the voice of reason among the twins. When things are beginning to go too far, Mami is the one that calls that out. Ami, of course, is obedient to her sister, though this doesn't stop them from being little terrors at times. Usually, Ami and Mami are an unstoppable force, but they do answer to two people: The Producer, and Ritsuko. The producer because they are quite fond of him and have a great respect for him, calling him 'nii-chan' (big brother), and Ritsuko because they are absolutely terrified of her and her martinet ways.

An important thing to note about the twins is that their fun is always intended to be harmless to everyone else. They never want to hurt anyone, physically or emotionally. This is shown with Yukiho, a cripplingly shy and anxious girl. They make sure to be extra sensitive around her, and whenever anyone does anything cruel (looking at you, Iori), they are two of the ones to step up immediately and call that person out. While they are quite the little tricksters, they have quite a sense of justice.

Ami is also a ball of confidence, which can get in the way at times, as it comes across more as cockiness than anything else. In fact, in singing lessons, the teacher chides her and Mami occasionally for it. She says even though they sing confidently, it doesn't mean they're singing good or correctly. This confidence melds into her everyday behavior, as well; they aren't shy kids at all. In fact, Ami is quite a brazen child, unafraid to speak her mind and thoughts on everything, even if it doesn't concern her or it's a 'grown up issue', such as the monetary status of the production company.

At the end of the day, despite being an annoying brat, Ami is an essential part of 765 Pro. She brings a lot of energy and motivation to the group, as well as her natural positivity and hilarious antics. She cherishes her fellow idols, just as much as she cherishes her sister, and is willing to do anything to remain an idol.. even homework.

Being near each other their whole lives, the twins have become pretty dependent on one another. So it definitely sent a tremor through their relationship when Ami, and Ami alone, was picked to be in Ryuuguu Komachi, a separate group of idols produced by Ritsuko as opposed to Producer-san. Mami remarks that since this happened, they've had to resort to doing their daily activities separately, since Ami never has enough time to spend as much as they both would like with each other. However, they are both positive about this change, and resolve to both become the best idols they can be - separately, instead of together, as they had originally intended. Their willpower to be together and grow is truly great for kids so young, and when they are together, they cherish the time they have. After all, they can't depend on each other forever, and they both know that.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Positive
+ Playful and imaginative
+ Hideously genre savvy
+ Clever and sly

- Mischievous with a penchant for havoc
- Can be seen as dependent on her sister
- Immature
- Can be dense

[ Huh? What was that? A strange sound emitting from your Pokegear? You'd probably just attribute it to a glitch, if it hadn't resounded a couple of times. After a moment, the video feed switches on, revealing a brown haired girl with a sidepony in a rather dramatic stance, as well as a Mime Jr. in a very similar stance. ]

Pi-Puri-Pi Style Shojo, Futami Ami-chan, here to save the day with her trustily beastilly sidekick-ily, Kou-kun! [ He makes a very determined "Mime!" and nods. ] Today's mission consists of finding a missing person, one Futami Mami-chan! Surely she must be hiding away in a castle, being hid by a scary fire-breathing dragon! Uwahhh! Won't a kind frog ribbit me where the castle is? If you do, there's snacks here waiting for you!

Ah, and bonus points for anyone who finds any other idols! Ami's sure you can find 'em, they're pretty hard to miss! You might even get unlockable content if you find one! Oh my!

[ the girl wiggles around excitedly, and, in an instant, the feed is off. Well that was.. interesting, wasn't it? ]
Third Person Sample:

Life was lonely when you were Mami-less. It was already difficult enough, back home, doing work with Ryuuguu Komachi and being separated from her, but here in Johto it felt like she was missing an arm without Mami present. She moped about this a little, alone and away from the other idols. After boohooing for a while, though, she was always able to perk back up and be her usual self. That was one of her strengths; her unending energy. It was something she shared with Mami, and being separated wouldn't change that.

Ever still, those boohoo times were difficult, especially when she truly was alone, like now in an inn in Cherrygrove. After lying down for bed after playing around with her Pokegear for a while, it had occurred to her that she would be here for a long time, and when Mami would show up was questionable. That was a little hard to think about. And Ami had a habit of pushing those difficult feelings under the carpet.

So, what does she do? Bring out surrogate Mami. That is to say, she releases Kou-kun from his ball. "Ah!~ A wild Kou-kun's appeared, is it?" She giggles mischievously and rolls off the bed, onto the floor with Kouhai, who does a little dance and jumps onto her back. She sits up and places him on her shoulders, holding him down firmly and begins to run about the room. "The wild Kou-kun seems to be vicious, unstoppable, even! He's rampaging the city, pillaging the villages, kidnapping all the maidens! Oh, no! Who will save the Cherrygrove now?!" And, she falls to the ground, face first, rolling over as Kouhai hops off and prods at her face. A smile appears on her face.

For now, Kouhai would have to do.

Essentially, IDOLM@STER is a multi-series franchise following the lives of prospective idols in Japan. In most of the games your job is to produce the idols to become top stars. It has an animated adaptation (THE IDOLM@STER) where it follows the same formula of following a bunch of girls rising to become mega popstars.

The histories aren't very well mentioned and there’s not much else to elaborate on from this, sorry!

Personality:
Haruka is your ordinary high school girl with very big aspirations. She aims to be one of the best idols in her country, and while there are a number of things that could be considered as limiting factors to her success, she surpasses those limitations. Haruka’s merits don’t come from a voice that can bring the house down or with dazzling and overwhelming dance moves. In fact, most of her attributes just fall short compared to her peers. Yet what does Haruka have?

What she lacks in surplus talent, she fills up to the brim and more with her positive, cheerful attitude. It’s her can-do spirit and energy that continues to propel and motivate herself to improve and do better. Though she may be normal on all fronts, she’s positive-minded with the desire and willingness to see to her ambitions recognized, to always look on the bright side, to look at something in a new perspective to keep moving forward, and that alone gives her the ability to shine like a top idol. She’s rarely discouraged and incredibly motivated to make sure everyone is having fun and achieving all that they can.

Haruka is very close to her family. They instilled into her the importance of kinship, spending time with one another and looking on the bright side, and she is very willing to invest these values into her friends and family alike. Haruka finds her deeply cherished friends of 765 PRO as an extended family. She is the one that always encourages the other idols to spend more time together, to do fun things and to find and do work together. Her friends are always on her mind, offering suggestions or doing small simple favors to help them out. If she sees someone struggling with a problem, she will try to get it resolved.

“In a positive sense, Haruka-kun’s easy-going attitude might be what pushes them higher.”

Arguably Haruka’s greatest strength in her positivity is its lasting effect on everyone she surrounds herself with. She deigns herself as a sort of mood-maker to lift spirits, to remain undeterred, even despite crushing rejection or troubles that come her way. Everyone stumbles here and there, and while idols are no exception, Haruka’s saving grace is that she always picks herself up after the tumble. Haruka is often the one who peps her friends up. And if they don’t respond to that? Haruka will present a different aspect and a new novel way to approach a tough scenario, to get them reinvigorated. And if they don’t respond to even that? She will not stop. She will continue to voice her opinions and if she feels strongly for this (which is 99% of the time) she will tell the other party their digressions and her faith in them to not stop.

When her friends are upset it is Haruka who tempers the situation and guides it to a positive, productive scenario. It’s not that Haruka is the sole catalyst to the group’s success. She recognizes that togetherness and unity is one of the most fundamental foundations for success, and as such she is the first one to always boost and embolden the spirits of others around her. Eventually her upbeat demeanor rubs off onto everyone and she with the help of her friends inadvertently creates an incredibly strong, supportive group of talented idols and support staff that can only move forward.

When you strip away Haruka’s endless energy, as expected there’s a quieter Haruka, easier-afflicted with self-doubt and a lack of confidence. She’s so familiar with cheering herself on though that this rarely happens when she’s with her friends and even when she’s alone it’s a dark path of thinking, so she would much rather dwell on pleasant things. Before big events or stressful moments often she can be found pepping herself up and talking to herself. While her self-confidence might not be as reflective as her optimism, her cheers makes her more confident to dream big and in much aspect to achieve big. She can talk herself into high motivation and confidence, and because of this she claims boldly and with ease nigh-impossible goals, like everyone of her friends becoming the number one idols and again because of her motivation and positive energy, she really can strive for those lofty ambitions with great success.

Of course, just being happy-go-lucky 24/7 won’t make anyone a top idol. Haruka is a very hardworking girl. She approaches everything with a positive mind but with serious intent, balancing school and her duties as an idol, from her studies to keeping up with friends and especially her work as an idol. She often sacrifices sleep for the sake of trying to accomplish as much as possible, a price to pay when things are getting very hectic and paid with heaping amounts of strain and stress.

She has her worries too; she’s not blindly optimistic. She is human, and of course there are times when she gets disappointed or angered. She’s also so kind-hearted that she has difficulties communicating negative comments or speaking seriously without breaking her happy image. She would prefer to avoid conflict and dodge questions that can damper spirits, another reason why she only looks forward and with such gusto. Haruka tends to keep concerning thoughts to herself and she will let it eat at her so much that it affects her physical and mental health. In one instance when the group is doing extremely well, she is incredibly conflicted in how to reach out to her friends. Individually they are all succeeding in leaps and bounds but they are drifting apart in the process. Haruka sees this increasing void and tries her best with her energy to regroup everyone, but she gets pushed around and her requests get rejected repeatedly. Eventually the stress of watching her friends drift apart and having failed multiple times to communicate her concerns just gets to her and she has a mental breakdown. She finds balance eventually in between keeping a happy status quo with everyone together and with helping others with their goals to become more talented and popular idols.

Haruka is also fairly clumsy, often a niche personality quirk of hers that usually helps break the ice around her. In fact, Haruka is very easy to make friends with. She is easy-going and her empathy for others makes her quite often a welcomed friend or a friendly face among strangers. Though she doesn’t advertise herself in this manner, she’s very supportive.
Chihaya is a very cherished friend. Haruka recognizes immediately the lonesome qualities that Chihaya is burdened with in her life and Haruka sticks to her because of it. It’s partially out of sympathy but moreso out of a strong desire to see her friend quite simply happy. Because of Haruka’s persistently positive nature, she is able to gently encourage Chihaya to move past difficult life circumstances and to develop further in her idol career. Haruka opens herself up to Chihaya as much as possible, and as such Chihaya is very apt to read Haruka’s emotions behind her brimming positive energy. At first in their relationship it is Haruka playing the confidant, but as they grow closer Chihaya picks up on Haruka’s wishes and helps her in return.

Miki’s relations with Haruka are that of friendly interoffice rivalry. These two idols are both competitive and they both aspire to be great idols, but Miki unlike Haruka has a wealth of abilities and talents that screams idol material. Miki has innate idol talent, be it looks, dancing, singing--charisma and incredible luck—as her idol career just seems to fall in place for her. Haruka on the other hand has to work hard for the recognition that seems to come very easily for Miki, and at one point in the show these two are directly pitted against each other in a friendly rivalry. Their differing views on how to become a top idol conflict, but through this Haruka respects Miki’s merit and raw talent, but Miki respects Haruka’s clarity of her goals to keep the group united and her dreams aligned with it. Because of Haruka, Miki is able to focus on and find what she truly loves about being an idol.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Without question Haruka’s greatest strength is her positive attitude. Her happy mentality is an incredibly strong motivator not just to herself but to literally everyone around her. She can diffuse high-tension moments with her easy-going nature. She’s the cheerleader troop, the motivational speaker and the dedicated coach, all rolled into one! Her positivity allows her to be very confident, and even when she makes mistakes here and there, it’s her gusto, her can-do demeanor and her zeal to see not only herself but everyone around her succeed that lets her pick herself back up and propel forward. Haruka is a people-person, as she can be friends with just about anyone, making her an apt unsung leader in a group. And of course being an idol has its perks. Haruka is a great singer and dancer, and she has a strong hand in acting as well. Her charisma is very powerful too!

Haruka’s weaknesses are on the flipside of her being so easy-going. She can become overburdened and overwhelmed with other people’s problems, and when her positive attitude and message doesn’t reach the recipient the way Haruka intended, she has troubles expressing thoughts otherwise. She prefers to avoid conflict and when she gets mad at someone, she will ignore the person until she cools down, usually taking the whole day. Haruka’s aspirations can be labeled as naïve and childish too.

[ The feed blips on to a young girl with dark chestnut-colored hair, adorned with two small ribbons above her temples. She stares at the screen and she smiles prominently. ]

Hello everyone, Haruka Amami here! I’m an idol from 765 Production, and it’s nice to meet you all! [ The manner in which she speaks and moves certainly makes it seem like she’s excited about something. ] Umm, first things first, but, cell phones from home don’t work here, right? I mean, I tried calling family and some friends, but it wouldn’t connect…

[ The smile wanes for a brief moment but she shakes her head. Hey, it’s not like there’s anything that can be done right now! And besides, aren’t there more pressing matters at hand?

She goads herself on and makes a surprised expression. ]

So this is Johto, right? I’ve never heard of this place! The name’s a little… strange, I think, but blue skies, green grass, and a world ripe for exploration just makes this place super interesting! Fun lies before us all! [ Well. She’s certainly taking this well. She holds up her pokeball. ] And we have a companion too!

Okay everyone! Since we’re here, let’s all work hard and aim to become top Pokemon Masters! It’s a promise! We’ll be the best of the best together!!

[ Haruka winks. Then, with jubilance, she jumps in place for an expressive cheer!! ]

Here we go, 765 PRO!! Ohhh–Wo-Woooah?!?! —

[ –and when she hits the ground she slips right off one of the short ledges, falling spectacularly on her butt and bringing the camera tumbling down with her. Haruka yelps from the accident, more surprised than hurt. Realizing quickly that the camera is still rolling, she just rubs the back of her head, offering the feed a sheepish grin and a friendly wave before turning it off. ]

Third Person Sample:
“Ouch ouch ouch… What a tumble… I’ve been doing a whole lot of this recently, haven’t I?” Haruka mumbles to herself. Falling. Tripping. Stumbling. How many obstacles has she encountered in the last half year since their Producer came on board? And much to Haruka’s chagrin, she has tripped over almost every single one of them. Her friends too, stumbled right beside Haruka. There were times so discouraging that she could almost feel everyone’s discomfort and displeasure. She could see their hesitation and even hear their doubts. Am I really cut out to be an idol?

Haruka gets up.

“I’ve been doing a whole lot of this recently, too!” She giggles again, hopping onto her feet. Surely Haruka has fallen a countless number of times. And yet each time Haruka has stumbled, she picked herself up. And she kept moving forward. And when her friends took a spill as well? Haruka helped them stand up onto their own, too. How far have they come since then? How far forward have they gone, despite their repeated slip ups? Haruka grins, just thinking about all the progress they’ve made collectively as a group! Finally! They’ve done their first major successful live performance! And at a packed concert hall, too! Things were only looking up from here!

—Ah, but her friends weren’t here. At least they didn’t wake up in this strange house with her. Her cheeky grin wanes to a gentle expression. She was alone here, wasn’t she? In this strange place, without the ability to call her family or friends, right? How were they doing? She wished she could communicate with them and let them know that she was all right, in the very least…

“Come on, Haruka. No more falling today.” Haruka forces herself out of those thoughts with a shake of her head. She thought waking up in someone’s bed earlier this morning, with someone very obviously not her Mom rushing her out the door was just a teensy bit strange. But at least she was nice! In a hurry, but nice! Haruka wished that there was time to make some breakfast with her. And when she stepped outside, well, it was brand new world laid out before her. Was it time to dwell on the past, on sad thoughts? No! The sun was shining! There’s this really chipper music in the air and it’s a fantastic day outside! What is there to be sad about? That, and some really important-looking guy telling her that she’s going on an adventure? To start a new journey? And she gets a pet?! How could she not get excited?

Of course this is trying to ignore the elephant in the room. What about her now blossoming career as an idol? What about getting home? Haruka pauses for a moment to ponder that. After a few more moments of fruitless efforts, she just shakes her head and chuckles a little. What could be done, anyway? Waking up in some weird place that definitely wasn’t home? Her country? No, Haruka ruled that out immediately. Everything about this place just screamed at her that she was no where near home.

So, what else was there to do?

To move forward, of course.

“Here we go, Johto! Haruka Amami makes her grand debut!”

Full Moon wo Sagashite

Personality:

Takuto appears mostly as a serious type, but while appearing to be so it's good to remember that he is capable of letting go and having fun. He's really honest and outspoken... sometimes a little too outspoken. He has the habit of saying things out loud before thinking and that way hurting other people without really meaning it to happen. Though if he does that he will apologize to the person he hurt... once he realizes he did.

While he appears to be quite cool and collected he gets quite hot-headed fast. He especially gets jealous rather quickly and acts like a small child when he's annoyed. This goes also for when his pride is hurt or when he's teased mercilessly. He does try his best to act cool and tease back, but usually he ends up being too worked up for that to work. He also likes to be alone if he's too pissed off to be around others and might punch something (or sometimes someone if they annoy him).

You could call Takuto a really tough guy. He's the loyal person of a group of friends who will look out for others and protect them with everything he has. However whenever he's around Mitsuki he quickly melts into a softer person. He has said that he's "weak against Mitsuki" and wouldn't be able to resist him. Mitsuki brings out the sweet guy he actually is. He wants to make his friends happy and make sure everything will be alright. Takuto's also good at encouraging people and helping them get through their problems. He's helped Mitsuki get her spirit up many times.

In his "past life" he used to be a musician, but due to a tumor in his throat he was forced to do an operation that made him lose his voice. This resulted him to take his own life and become a shinigami. This resulted him to have a passion towards music even if he didn't have memories of his past life. After he met Mitsuki he began to remember and had all sorts of regrets with his past decision so he swore to protect Mitsuki and not let her die... but he also realized he was falling in love with her. This was a problem because Mitsuki was then in love with someone else (enough to give her life away) but he never gave up on her. Takuto gets pretty stubborn whenever he's into something. He waited for Mitsuki, often telling her how he felt and eventually they were able get past their problems (like Takuto's impatience with her feelings which was also one of the problems in the beginning).

Now that he's been given another chance at life he's more cheerful and has smiles on his face more often. He's not about to let this chance he got go to waste. He forgot everything (as he was in a come during the whole time) but remembers everything in three months time and returns to Mitsuki three years later to start a new story.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

+ Honest
+ Passionate about music
+ Good at enduring pain
+ Loyal to his friends
+ Really protective of the ones he loves
- ... maybe a little too protective
- Gets jealous rather easily
- Gets hurt pretty easily as well
- Also quite hot-headed
- Sometimes says things before thinking first
+/- Mitsuki (self-claimed weakness, but she also makes him stronger)

[The feed opens to show a very frustrated young man. Clearly he's been interrupted from something important upon being dragged here.]

Okay. Whoever's responsible for this they better let me back. I was just able to return to someone and-- Izumi, get down.

[Just a second... There seems to be a Lillipup on the screen. Takuto shoves it off.]

What's the big idea of dragging people into a strange place anyway? It's not really-- Izumi.

[Wow there seems to be a lot of Lillipup difficulties today.]

And why did I get a dog? I'm more of a cat person and this-- HEY!

[And Takuto falls over with a Lillipup on his face. You can hear "Stop that! Don't lick my face you stupid-" before the feed cuts off.]

Third Person Sample:

Takuto was certainly not a happy person. Three years he had spent apart from Mitsuki and when he had finally gotten back to her what happens? He gets sent to a strange world with odd creatures. You would think something (like fate) wanted to keep them apart... or then someone just had a really bad sense of humour. Whatever it was he wasn't happy and he wanted to punch the person responsible for all of it.

Another thing that made him annoyed was that he was followed by a really excited dog (a Lillipup). He had woken up to it licking his face and being all happy and excited to see Takuto... and even if he had tried to get it off it had just kept coming back. It wasn't like he hated dogs, no, but he was certain that this was another bad joke thrown at him. He was more of a cat person and dogs only reminded him of someone really annoying (but who was also a quite good guy, in the end). Thankfully the puppy calmed down rather quickly (after half an hour) and things had started to look a little better with the two of them. Since his friend (or rival) was still in his mind, the Lillipup was named Izumi on the spot.

After finally calming down from most of his frustration he made a decision. There was no way he would sit around and do nothing about this. He would find a way out and return to the one he loved. Some strange world wasn't going to keep him away from her too long. He'd just need to do the impossible and find a way out no matter how long it took.

"Route 29", Takuto said out loud as he looked at the scenery beyond New Bark Town. "This is it. Let's go, Izumi." Lillipup barked happily and started following his trainer.

Personality: The first thing that will likely strike you about Albert Wesker is that there's something decidedly...wrong with him.

It's a bit difficult to say what the tip-off might be, as he seems normal enough on first glance. You can tell that he's definitely an authority figure of some sort by the way he carries himself, the confidence in his mannerisms and stance, and the firmness in his tone when he speaks; at the same time, his voice is soft and pleasant to listen to, and the authority he presents is almost calming in its completeness - no matter what's going on, he definitely gives off the impression that he knows what he's doing. And perhaps this is to be expected - finding out a bit more about him will yield the fact that he's the chairman of the Umbrella Corporation, a group that...uh, that...

W-Well, they do a lot of high-tech scientific things, anyway! It's a bit hard to get any information about exactly what they do (outside of some vague dealings that may or may not have anything to do with medicine), but the point is that it's impressive and full of science, and clearly they need a firm hand at the helm lest everything go asunder. We can't have scientists running amok while they're trying to cure cancer, after all, or they'll dissolve into things like human experimentation.

...Oh. So they've already - ...well, surely it can't get worse than that! For example, it's not like they're pitting their creations against relatively unarmed citizens or -

...Really? C'mon, guys, there's gotta be some saving grace here; I mean, it's not like they've caused the end of the world or someth-

...

Ladies and gentlemen, the Umbrella Corporation: the group that accidentally the entire world.

It's not to say that Wesker himself is incompetent on an obvious level; again, he certainly seems to know what he's doing. In fact, at first glance, he's the epitome of what a good commander should be: calm under fire, authoritative, capable of giving orders, and generally good enough at what he does to actually make you pause before questioning what sort of scientific organization hires, as its chairman, a guy who willingly wears leather pants and keeps his sunglasses on indoors like a douchebag. And then you find out what the Umbrella Corporation does, and what it's responsible for, and a hell of a lot is suddenly explained about Wesker as a whole.

The calmness under pressure, you see, is due to a little thing called "a complete lack of human empathy." It's not that he doesn't see a reason to be flustered or scared when his employees are under attack; it's that he quite simply doesn't care enough to be flustered or scared. He's difficult to effect, emotionally, and this is obvious in his outward displays toward others; his expressions are often tight and somewhat unpleasant, but there's a sense of distance between himself and whatever's causing that negative affect display that's almost tangible. The few times that distance closes...well. It tends to end nastily for whomever caused the snap - Wesker's impulse control is very poor when he's agitated, and he often solves his problems by shooting the cause of said problem in the face; if that fails, he resorts to the tried-and-true "just nuke everyone" method. Regardless of whatever way he chooses to solve the issue, however, his expression doesn't shift; he's still going to have that cold, calm expression, no matter how many people he's just killed.

Of course, if he's feeling good, whether he's just being cocky or feeling confident that he's won some sort of battle against you, that's about the only time that he'll show any glimpse of true emotion; he'll often smirk and make broad, gloating statements, and the level of self-congratulating that goes on will really just make you want to help him come down with a mild case of kneed-in-the-groin. Pleasure certainly exists for him, though it's incredibly short-lived, and it's never really any sort of true happiness - rather, it's smug, smirking pleasure, usually at someone else's expense. Basically, he's a good representation of the online collective that likes to call itself Anon - he makes it very plain that he disapproves and he will sit here and judge everyone's lifestyle all he wants, but he doesn't exactly give enough of a damn to sign in and have a good row with them properly; he kind of embodies the statement "LOOK AT ALL THE FUCKS I GIVE", but as soon as things stop going his way he's throwing a destructive hissyfit for the ages.

And then you realize that the bad vibe you were getting off of him earlier - that feeling that something is completely, inexplicably wrong with him - has nothing to do with anything he's doing outwardly. It has nothing to do with the strange sense of coldness radiating off of him if you talk to him long enough - not physical coldness, but rather something twisted and deep, sapping the warmth from his words and his expressions. It has nothing to do with the utter disdain he seems to have for anyone who may disagree with what he's doing, or the willingness to kill people in cold blood for little more than posing a disagreeing opinion to something he may have said. It's the fact that once you get to know him, Wesker is pretty much the physical embodiment of a goddamn troll on the internet.

...of course, it might also be the fact that he's kind of a zombie. Have I mentioned that part yet? This actually does require some background, so bear with me -

The T-virus developed by the Umbrella Corporation was designed for the purpose of creating bio-organic weapons - that is, living creatures intentionally infected with mutagens that would give them enhanced powers and capabilities; these creatures will be hereafter referred to as B.O.W.s. Said B.O.W.s were pretty much the pride and joy of the Umbrella Corporation, as they were seen as the next step to creating the perfect life form. This was not an entirely illogical line of thinking, mind you, as the mutagens generally enhanced the regenerative properties, speed, strength and agility of those infected with the viruses that carried them - it was only a mostly illogical line of thinking, because those who succumbed entirely to the virus became uncontrollable zombies that were highly infectious. Given that only one person out of every ten million could control the reaction to said virus, this could eventually lead to the destruction of most of the goddamn world.

Of course, with a track record like that, it was only a matter of time before the T-virus was released out into the world - and it was, in a huge, population-shattering way. In response to this global pandemic (which may or may not have done all sorts of bizarre things like temporarily drying out the oceans, one's interpretation depending on whether or not we're supposed to do anything but headtilt at all the retcons while our brains try to make sense of this movie series), Umbrella literally went underground, taking up residence in large facilities deep within the earth, where they then proceeded to continue on with their science thing.

No, not trying to cure the outbreak, because that would imply both logic and a sense of responsibility. They were making more weapons. Because, you know, that had gone so well the first time.

And overseeing all of this chaos is Wesker, chairman of Umbrella and terrible decision-maker extraordinaire. Upon realizing what in the good hell his corporation hath wrought, seeing the destruction caused by the T-virus and exactly what he had created in the B.O.W.s, he not only ordered the Umbrella employees to just plow right on ahead with creating more B.O.W.s - he declared it time to go all aboard the hot mess express and create a special strand of the T-virus for his own personal use.

Allow me to reiterate: he saw something that created a global pandemic of zombies, decided he wanted in on that particular action, played around with it and made something that stood a good chance of zombifying the living crap out of him (if not killing him outright), skipped the testing phase of this new concoction entirely, and then proceeded to inject himself with it.

Logic, I am so sorry.

It's unclear whether the gods smiled upon Wesker that day, or if they simply decided that no afterlife could possibly want him; either way, his body was able to withstand the virus and keep it at bay. He got to retain his humanity, and yet receive all the perks of being a B.O.W. himself; the only noticeable physical change that he seems to have acquired is in his eyes, which had been rendered incredibly catlike for the most part, amber in color with vertically-slit pupils. They change again when he's threatened or particularly alert, with the irises turning a deep red color that seems to glow from the inside. This physical change would be the reason behind the sunglasses, and why he continues to wear them indoors; the exact timeframe at which he decided that stabbing himself with a syringe full of sweet, sweet zombie creation is left unstated, but it was presumably sometime before his appearance in Extinction.

Regardless of when he did it, as it stands now, Wesker rather enjoys his new T-virus powers; he flaunts them often, and he doesn't hesitate to flat-out describe and explain them to anyone who asks (and a bunch of people who don't). And he really can't be blamed - as a result of his infection, Wesker's physical attributes have been augmented to terrifying extents. He's capable of throwing people around like ragdolls - literally people, as he's seen doing it to two at once; one was a rather muscular female with several heavy weapons on her, and the other was a male soldier that was physically larger than Wesker himself, also carrying several weapons, and Wesker quite simply grabbed them each one-handed and flung them forward over his shoulders like they weighed nothing. He's also capable of backflips that peak out well over his height from a standing position (ie, no running leadup), spiking people down into the ground so hard that it causes injuries to their backs (also from a standing position, with no added height between himself and the ground), and he has enhanced reflexes and speed that enable him to dodge bullets and do some incredibly wicked flash-step. His physical regeneration is also enhanced, allowing him to recover quickly from almost any injury that can be thrown at him short of straight-up decapitation. This isn't a conscious ability, however, and it seems to be more based around the preservation of his body as a host of the T-virus - first- and second-degree burns and minor lacerations don't immediately heal themselves and are shown to linger; however, being knifed in the throat, then having the top and right side of his skull blown out by Alice's guns and several rounds of bullets fired into his chest (all in rapid succession, mind you, these weren't separate events) all heals up in a matter of minutes, and he manages to survive massive explosions going off within inches of his face on two separate occasions.

He's incredibly proud of what he is and what he can do (and of course, much to his linefacing chagrin, he won't be capable of doing any of that in Route, due to Johto curing the T-virus infecting his system); in canon, this lasted approximately until he was involved in a plane crash, in which he used his face to catch the massive fireball caused by the fuselage exploding. The accelerated healing granted by the T-virus healed his body, but it also kicked the virus itself into overdrive (...don't ask), causing it to overtake Wesker's system. Wesker responded to this with all the common sense that can really be expected of him after the amazing displays we've had so far: he embraced his inner zombie and retained whatever was left of his humanity by eating people (don't ask), believing that consuming their flesh will allow his system to absorb their DNA (don't ask) and satiate the virus for the time being (DON'T ASK). Surprisingly, these tactics actually worked (no one here has taken a biology class), keeping the virus more or less calmed down and allowing him to retain his physical body in more or less decent, non-zombified condition, as well as allowing him to not degenerate into a drooling, mindless mess (no one here has even seen the inside of a biology classroom); however, this led to a bit of a shift in focus when it came to his goals, rendering the first new order of business into consuming the protagonist of the series, Alice, whose body had been shown to bond completely with the T-virus - rendering her mostly human after infection, but with cool psychic powers on top of the usual B.O.W. skillset (this series has given up on anything resembling biology, this is just pure Rule of Cool now. also cannibalism).

So! Basically, what we are looking at is a violation of logic, common sense, biology, physics, basic human empathy, common decency and any rules dictating how not to be a huge douche. All contained in the body of a man who murders in cold blood, has no regard for anyone but himself, eats people and, perhaps most egregiously, is willing to wear sunglasses inside. If you're thinking that you wouldn't entrust your life, your future, and the future of the world to this man, then guess what?

You're officially smarter than everyone who still works for the Umbrella Corporation. And there are a lot of them.

Character
Name: Geddoe
Series: Suikoden III
Timeline: post-game, Hugo as Flame Champion path
Canon Resource Links: Wikipedia and a brief fansite bio.

Personality: Geddoe generally comes as taciturn, distant, and generally disinterested in most anything other than a mug of beer and occasionally carrying out a mission. He dislikes talking about himself, let alone being the center of attention, and while he's dedicated and resourceful in carrying out a mission, you might not guess it from his blunt, gruff demeanor. He tends to both look and act the career mercenary he is, picking and choosing his missions as he's able, but almost never getting particularly fired up or deeply interested in much of anything.

Of course, that's just what you see at first glance. If you look a bit more close, it's clear Geddoe does possess a sense of humor, albeit a typically subtle one, and for all his appearance of not particularly caring what those around him are up to, he'd never let a friend or his team down. He can be incredibly patient and tolerant of the quirks of other people around him, and is even downright diplomatic when he wants to be or the situation demands it, but heaven help anyone who succeeds in earning his ire: Geddoe once held a grudge for decades, with it even ultimately outliving the man it was held against. And that's just a case of a severe difference of opinion with someone he respected and considered a friend; he gives no quarter to anyone who somehow manages to make themselves his enemy.

Geddoe is shown to be quite intelligent- all of his team looks to him and respects his insight in difficult situations, even when he keeps them totally in the dark as to why he's making the decisions he is, acting as a strategist for the group as well as being its leader. He's rather private about his personal life and is good at keeping secrets, which combined with his intelligence and experience means it's not unusual for him to do covert operations, even though he probably looks more the part of a brute force sword for hire. Given that he cares little about what other people think, he doesn't mind getting his hands a bit dirty, though much as he'd happily ignore any rule he doesn't feel ought to apply to him, he definitely has a certain sense of justice. He's also definitely got a streak of what might charitably be called tenacity, but it may be more realistic to just say he's a stubborn old man.

When all is said and done, however, deep down Geddoe is truly an idealist. He chooses to have faith that the world can change for the better, and wants to believe in the best of people. He's deeply hurt when he feels this faith is betrayed by a friend, and is pained by both the loss of so many old friends and the prospect of ultimately losing even more--the unfortunate but inevitable fate of any of the immortal bearers of a True Rune such as his. As such, much of his distant demeanor is more to shield himself from the risk of that loss, and while he's beginning to come to accept the rune's presence, a certain sullen bitterness at being "trapped" by its power still lingers. Nonetheless, he's never lost his idealism, which shows in his continued efforts to find a purpose in his life while steadfastly refusing to flee the "destiny" imposed upon him.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Some of Geddoe's strengths include his intelligence and also simply just his sheer experience, all 100+ years of it. He's well-traveled and quite knowledgeable about many things, and is capable of being incredibly patient and dedicated to those he cares about. He's also actually quite good at matters requiring diplomacy or negotiations of some sort. On a purely physical level, he's quite strong and is a power and experienced swordsman, as well as being a reasonably skilled mage.

In terms of weaknesses, Geddoe can be extremely stubborn, and has a temper that, once ignited, is very slow to let go of a grudge. Because of his negative experiences with the immortality his rune grants him, he has difficulty opening up to people, and can be prone to being deeply offended and judgmental when someone fails to live up to his expectations of them. Physically speaking, his missing eye means that he has quite the blind spot, which can be a severe handicap, especially for a mercenary who sees a lot of fighting.

First Person Sample: *The post begins with a video that is very obviously being handled by someone who has absolutely no idea whatsoever how to work the device. The image is blurred, then a face starts to come into focus. It's at an angle and a bit shaky, but it's possible to make out an eye and black hair that seems to shadow one side of the face. Then it shifts a little more, zooming out a bit as the 'gear tries to auto-focus, and the face can be made out more clearly- a middle-aged, rough-looking man, with shaggy black hair, and a large eyepatch covering his right eye. He continues to stare at the screen for a bit with a slight frown, blinking as he considers it. The image jumps a bit more as he turns the 'gear at an angle, giving a brief glimpse at the heavy leather armor he's wearing like some sort of medieval mercenary, before coming back to focus (mostly) on his face again. Finally, after another moment of consideration, he speaks*

Where can I buy a sword?

*There's a glimpse of a hand wearing a leather glove fumbling with the 'gear again before he manages to switch it off.

....yep, definitely the mercenary type.*

Third Person Sample: When Geddoe opened his eye to unfamiliar surroundings, his first instinct was to reach for his sword. The fact that his hand grasped nothing but air did not bode well at all, but even disarmed he still had his strength and the runes to rely on, if this were indeed a hostile situation.

And that was when he realized he could no longer sense the True Lightning Rune's presence.

He glanced around quickly, both taking better stock of his situation, and confirming that there was no one else immediately present. Other than having been disarmed, however, there was no indication that he was being held captive in any manner, and for the moment, at least, he was alone. Still, he kept his senses alert as he tugged the thick glove from his right hand, already knowing what he would probably see, or more accurately, not see...

Geddoe frowned. The tattoo-like mark on the back of his right hand was still plainly visible, though he could feel nothing of its power or its will. He stared for a moment, blinking in disbelief, then shook his head with a sigh and tugged the glove back on. It appeared that, whatever had happened, it was going to be no simple matter to unravel. He stood, then went to go have a look around this place he had suddenly wound up in, to see if he could find a better clue as to what was going on.

Several minutes and a few puzzling conversations later, he returned to pick up the pack that had been laying near where he'd woken up in the first place, then he went to resume his investigations once more.

Shortly after, Geddoe sat down under a tree in the woods just outside the small town. There hadn't been enough information for his liking, but some of the few points agreed upon by most everyone were that no one knew how he'd gotten there--and thus no one knew how to return him--and that there was an animal of some sort stored in a ball in the bag he'd found which apparently somehow belonged to him. As did the bag itself and the rest of its contents, which while strange, did at least naturally follow if one believed the previous assumption.

"Some sort of summoning magic...?" he wondered as he gave a cursory examination to the bag's contents, and shook his head. That didn't quite make sense, either, but it sounded as though he'd have more than time enough to find out. In any case, he finally found the peculiar red and white ball in question, and turned it over in his hands for a moment as he considered how it was meant to be opened. Finally, he gave a small shrug and simply went with the obvious choice of pressing the button centered on the rim, and was rewarded with the two halves popping open on a hinge and emitting a flash of light... which soon resolved itself into a small, vaguely dog-like green and yellow creature of some sort standing in the grass before him.

There was a beep, and Geddoe glanced down to see a light blinking on a device that was one of the items that had fallen out of the bag as he'd searched it, followed by an oddly mechanical-sounding voice.

≪Electrike, the Lightning Pokémon. It stores electricity in its fur. It gives off sparks from all over its body in seasons when the air is dry.≫

Geddoe blinked, then glanced at the creature again.

"Really, now..."

The electrike merely happily barked its name--which Geddoe might have found more odd if not for the fact that frankly by this point what was yet another oddity?--and trotted over, rearing onto its hind feet to place its front paws on Geddoe's leg and stare eagerly up at him. Geddoe shook his head, muttering that he supposed it'd have to do, then reached down to begin packing up the contents of the bag, giving the pokémon a rough pat on the head as he did so.

Character
Name: Ryo Akizuki
Series: THE iDOLM@STER
Timeline: Post-Chapter 12 of the Neue Green Manga
Canon Resource Links: Game Series Wiki & Character Wiki

Personality: Ryo is the direct opposite of his cousin, Ritsuko. He is very gentle and soft-spoken, and can be considered the most calm idol of the 876 Pro trio and a Yamato Nadeshiko-type. He keeps most of his thoughts to himself, especially the disagreeable ones. However, this makes him a bit of a wimp and pushover, and he's quite prone to tears. He gets startled and scared easily and has the tendency to panic, letting out his trademark scream of "GYAOOOON!" This happened quite often when he initially started to pretend being a girl, since he was high uncomfortable and was paranoid about being found out.

Due to his behavior coupled with his looks, the poor guy is constantly mistaken for a girl and is asked out often by other guys at his school. He becomes even more disturbed when they don't care that he's a guy and still want to date him. He really hates how he looks and acts feminine, so he decided to try and become a male idol in order to learn how to be cooler and more appealing to girls. This makes it clear that Ryo is straight as an arrow, despite ending up stuffed into a dress.

At his current canon point, Ryo has become more used to acting as a girl and doesn't complain about it much. He used to be highly uncomfortable and nervous around girls, even his own colleagues. He manages to get over this, and doesn't mind friendly physical contact anymore. He can even participate in slumber parties without any major problems. However, at times he finds it scary that that he can slip into his girl persona with ease. However, Ryo still freaks out whenever he suspects that he might have a risk of his true gender being found out and will everything he can to prevent that discovery. Once, he even went so far as to jump off a bridge and into the river below it when Ai encountered him dressed as a guy.

It's also worth noting that despite how comfortable he is hanging out with girls, there's still problems he has regarding them. For example, he had a very hard time hanging out with Ai and Eri at the beach in swimsuits, especially when Ai kept clinging onto him. This causes him to retreat into the nearby bath house because something besides his temperature was rising. He also doesn't take it well when it turns out Ai and Eri followed him and are sharing the same bath with him. When pushed to his very limits, he can end up collapsing from a severe nosebleed, like when he accidentally gets his face smushed between Azusa’s breasts. He can’t help it, he’s a healthy boy! Despite these reactions and how comfortable he is being around girls, Ryo is quite the gentleman and never actively acts perverted towards his fellow idols. He dutifully covers his eyes whenever he ends up seeing Ai and Eri changing (much to their confusion), and one time he immediately tries covering Azusa up when her shirt straps suddenly snap. He always sees his fellow idols as role models and good friends.

Ryo actually takes his idoling job very seriously, and always tries to find ways to improve himself. Despite how weak he seems, he actually has a huge sense of determination and refusal to give up. This tenacity just keep getting stronger as his career continues. He is surprisingly competitive, quite evident when he is aggressive during his training alongside Yumeko, shouting that he won't lose. Despite usually being weak in physical activities, Ryo is able to break his own limits when he is focused on accomplishing a goal. He will not take giving up as an option, even when the odds are against him. He doesn't care if his opponents are his co-workers or a veteran, Ryo will always have the desire to win. Despite his competitiveness, Ryo also has a sense of good sportsmanship. He always treats his fellow idols with respect, and always remains friends with them even if they have to compete. He also doesn't approve of resorting to cheating and hurting others to attain his goals, which is why he and Yumeko fight so much. Even if he becomes intimidated, like when the wire suspending him during a musical snapped and he nearly fell to the stage, he tries not to let that stop him. He tries to find a way to get through his fear, even if it means asking someone to hit him.

Though he’s easily bullied by people like 876’s President and his cousin, Ryo knows when to stop taking crap from others. There’s a hint of this during the beginning of his story, where he flat out refuses to join Ritsuko at 765 Pro, because that would spell out his doom to be a female idol for all eternity. He only chooses to debut as a girl under 876 Pro because the President offered to let him debut as a male if he can prove his success as a girl idol. This gets stronger as his days as an idol goes by. When a pushy tabloid writer tries to pull out some information from him to create a huge scandal, Ryo treats him coldly and does his best to ignore him, knowing that what the writer is doing is terrible. When he knows that there is something wrong being committed, Ryo will not have any of it.

Ryo is also very friendly, and genuinely cares about his peers. He is very supportive of Ai and Eri, and is almost like a big sister to them. When one of them has problems, he tries his best to comfort them and give them the support they need. He even tries to be friendly to his rival, Yumeko, and talks to her a lot. Ryo usually has nothing bad to say about any of the other idols he meets, and always describes every one of them as "an amazing person". Despite how much he respects people to the point of it being a tad excessive, he doesn't like it when aggression is taken too far, and will call someone out on it. This is usually why he always gets into arguments and wrestling matches with Yumeko. It's also noted that his speech patterns become more violent on the rare occasion he gets really angry.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Ryo’s greatest strength is his tenacity. He will never give up on his goals, and if the odds are against him, he’ll still go down fighting. This surprising amount of inner strength helps him gain success and respect from others. He will even try to conquer his own fears and limits if it means helping him attain a goal. As an idol, he is very talented in singing and dancing. Since he’s pretending to be a girl, he also does well in manipulating his usually low voice into a natural-sounding high-pitched female voice. He’s also skilled in cooking and cleaning.

As for weaknesses, Ryo is usually pretty much a wimp. He’s easily intimidated by the aggressive women in his workplace, like his cousin and the President, and is thus constantly bullied. He has really bad luck, and it’s not wrong to say that being Ryo is suffering. He’s also physically weak, and is the slowest runner in his class (though he apparently can get speed boosts if he’s angry and/or determined enough). He also has a fear of heights, and will try to avoid them when possible.

Starter: I’d really like for Ryo to have a Ralts (M). I think it would be really amusing for him to be overjoyed with getting a Pokemon that’s “really cool” instead of the overly cutesy ones his fellow idols would get, only to be completely appalled when it evolves into the very ballerina-like Kirlia. Double appalling if he’s aware that his Ralts was a male! And then he’ll be relieved when he manages to evolve it into an ultra-cool and manly Gallade… Or perhaps his suffering would increase if it ends up being a Gardevoir. All in all, I think a Ralts would be a good choice for Ryo because it reflects him so well.

If not, I’ll go with Turtwig(M) as an alternative.

[‘sup, network? The “girl” on the feed may be familiar to some people. Some may recognize “her” from their world, or probably remember “her” as the “that panicking girl with the weird scream from the other day”. Unlike when he first arrived, Ryo has a really big smile on his face. He’s incredibly happy, despite still being stuck in a dress during an arduous journey.]

I was actually a bit shocked at first since I ended up here so suddenly [and because his only sets of clothes were dresses]… but, now that I’ve finally calmed down, I find all this very fun in a way!

[He lets out a soft laugh.]

The Pokémon I was given is really cool too! [To emphasize it, he gives the Pokémon resting in his arms a light squeeze… A very affectionate hug! He couldn’t help it! It was like having a really awesome pet!] And I think the little guy really likes me… I’m glad! I’ll make sure to take good care of him!

[Speaking of taking good care of him…] You know, I think it might be fun to challenge the Gym Leaders one day! At first, I was a bit concerned about battling, but… My Pokémon doesn’t seem to mind! In fact, it looks like he’s having fun with it too.

[Plus, this might make him more cooler, and then maybe revealing himself as a boy wouldn’t be risky here anymore! After all, he’s following the same formula the President set for him as an idol, so in theory it should have the same result… right? Ryo nods to himself in affirmation, as if to confirm his ambition.]

All right, I’ll give it my all! I’ll try and become the very best like no one ever was! I guess that means I better catch more Pokémon, huh? If there’s one thing I’ve learned from being an idol, it’s that strength comes in numbers! Let’s see… Th-They’re supposed to hide in tall grass, right?

[He finds a nearby patch of said tall grass and starts shuffling through it, when suddenly BATTLE MUSIC! The change makes Ryo jump in surprise.]

GYAOOOOOOOOOOON!

Third Person Sample:
Well, it's raining.

Talk about great timing when the weather was fine a while ago and Ryo decided to set out for Violet City. Well, to be fair, it was already a bit cloudy, but he made sure to purchase an umbrella at the PokéMart! It should be fine as long as he has that, right...? Gulping, he opens the umbrella and holds it above his head as he begins to brave the storm. Sure, the loud thunder is a bit foreboding, but surely it won't be so bad. Plus, his Pokémon were safely keeping dry within their Pokéballs, so he didn’t need to worry about them!

... He really should have just waited until tomorrow to do this. Halfway into his trek along the route’s trail, the rain started to get heavier and lightning began to show up. He whimpers a bit at the intensity of the storm, but tries to shake off his fear and keeps going. Even if the weather was getting worse, his trusty umbrella will get him through this! However, as soon as he reassured himself of that, the wind began to pick up.

"GYAOOOOOON!" Ryo shrieks as he holds down his skirt with both hands to prevent it from flying up. After the wind subsides, he realizes that he ended up letting go of his umbrella, which got tossed into unknown lands by the wind. All he's left with is his shoulder bag filled with the rest of his trainer needs, which hardly was an adequate substitute for a shield against the rain. He really wants to get to Violet City and challenge the gym leader, so he can't afford to get sick from being soaked in the rain... He'll need to find a place to take shelter in until the storm subsides... whenever that will be.

He spots a small tent up ahead. Maybe someone got too excited and left without it? It seems pretty shady, but... It should be all right to hide in it until the storm's over, right? Ryo approaches it... and promptly lets out a startled scream when it collapses once he was only a mere inches away from it. Well, guess that's not an option, luckily... Better keep looking then. He jogs further down the road, hoping to find a place to stay.

Ryo manages to see a cave up ahead, which is a vast upgrade from a beat-up tent. Sure, there could be wild Pokémon inside, but he should be fine if he stays near the entrance! Plus, he could catch and train Pokémon to make time pass by until the storm subsides. With his mind made up, he goes in---Oh god it’s so dark. He can’t help but let out a small whimper at the visual lack of surroundings. Okay, everything’s going to be okay. He has his Pokémon with him, so he should be okay. Being stuck in a creepy dark cave is leagues better than being out during a violent storm. Just keep calm and carry on---

SWEET MERCY ZUBATS EVERYWHERE.

The Idolm@ster | Eri's page at the wiki

Personality:
The internet is a cruel cruel place, but for those wanting some fame it might be the perfect breeding ground. Eri was a shut in, but she was also an internet idol under the name Ellie. She spent hours dressing up editing and trying to look good on video which in turn got her a fanbase and enough hits to make anyone go “wow” at the numbers alone. Even with some amount of fame online she wasn't happy. She wasn't able to sing during her videos out of fear which dragged her down. That is in till she joined 876 Productions hoping to become a real idol and ditch her former life style or at least try and ditch her formal life style.

Due to how cut off Eri was she has trouble with people in a face to face in real life conversation. When she first met the producer for 876 Productions she couldn't even say her real name at first due to being so shy and in a state of panic. Along with freezing up during simple photo-shoots because there was just too many people around. She was able to get by with the help of Ai and Ryo even then she had trouble talking to them at first. Along with meeting Miki who shows that you can have a lot of confidence. Even after all that she panics a lot if she's around one of them it helps calms her down a little but it's still a work in progress. But due to the push she got from them along with her producer Ozaki she was able to finally sing instead of being afraid of her own voice.

She's shy and very reserved, in fact it wasn't in till she was told to help Ai that she really spoke for more than a little bit with either her or Ryo. Even though Ai was a handful Eri wanted to make sure she could move up and reach her goal. So she helped by showing her how to sing and control her voice to some degree. Due to the fact Ai is slightly younger she does care about her in one of those they're still learning give them a chance type ways. Though she still treats her as a good friend and someone she can talk to or at least try to talk to. The same could be said about Ryo, since Eri considers “her” to be very cool and in control even during stressful and scary events. Which has given her the motivation to try and keep going even if it's a little scary. Like when they had to film for a t.v program and the building they had to walk-through was “haunted” even if she got scared Ryo was cool and in control which gave her a sense of calmness, which allowed her to keep going even if she panicked a little at the start of filming.

Even though she panics a lot she tries to hid it, even though it doesn't work. Most of the time you can tell if she's in a state of panic because she'll freeze up. After working with Ai and Ryo for a little while she lightens up even if it's just a tiny bit. Like when they slept over at her house she was able to see that what she was saying might be hurtful and quickly tried to correct everything. Instead of just panicking and not doing anything to fix what had happened.

One problem is Eri still has times were she wants to go back to her room and her old life style. Such as on her early days off she would just go back to her room and go back on the computer like nothing happened. But over all she wanted to become a real idol in order to prove that she could shed her old self, but her old self still gets in the way. In the form of her friend Cineria an internet idol that wants Eri to stop being a real life idol and return to the online world as the idol Ellie. After a series of showdowns Eri wins and Cineria backs down. Which shows how much Eri rather be involved in the real world instead of the internet.

Even if it's just little but little Eri is breaking out of her shell, step by step getting in to the real world more. It's about understanding others as well as your self. Which is something she wants to be able to do. As shown when Ai and Ryo visit her room in the drama cd track. Even though she doesn't really understand why she starts crying after Ai breaks her kitty jigsaw puzzle and starts crying / saying sorry. But she figures out that you have to share sadness and pain together and work through it with your friends. That working together is the key to moving forward and that being alone won't solve anything anymore.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths
- She's quite good at video editing, her videos are mistaken for a high level budget production most of the time.
- Great with computers and other tech items since she used to live on the internet pretty much
- Has a very good singing voice, even though she's afraid of singing at first
- Is very good at explaining how to use volume control in a simple and easy to use way. Though it takes a bit of complaining from Ai for her to dumb it down.
- Has a knack for picking up internet slag and other useless info you'd find on imageboards such as 2ch and 4chan.
- Can figure out the best position on stage to dance and show off based on lighting. Due to how much time she's spent video editing and making things look good.

Weaknesses
- Eri is extremely shy and has a problem with being around a lot of people due to being in her room for a very long time
- Even though she has a great singing voice it takes a little extra push to get her to sing.
- Tends to panic a lot over simple things that other people might not have a problem with. (mostly talking to her and doing activities like shopping and what not.)
- Along with saying nuko to her self a lot and tends to speak as if saying a question.
- She was a complete shut in for awhile so any real physical activities are a bit out of her range / she'll go running back to a bedroom if need be.
- Eri buys a lot of items online but never opens the boxes, because she's afraid they'll be out of stock by the time she wants to order them.

Samples
First Person Sample:
[ If you're just tuning in now you might notice that Eri is panicking and waving her arms trying to get something off her clothes. That something just so happens to be a Shellder]

A-ah I don't know what to do, please calm down and stop clamping on to my clothes ! Someone help... Ryo, Ai, Ozaki ? Please this isn't that type of game...

[ She's not calming down at all and the waving is just getting worse and her eyes are starting to tear up a little.]

nuko nuko... Clams can be caught in nets, I just need a net... did the starter pack come with a net? Nets are normally starter items it so it'll be here.

Third Person Sample:

After traveling for a few days Eri was finally able to get to the next town and find a room for the night. A nice safe place inside to stay, something she thought she would never see again. Even if it wasn't her personal neet cave back home it was at least a small way to get away from everything. But the only problem was her Shellder refused to come off her arm, thankfully she had long sleeves on so it didn't hurt her but it was quite annoying. So after making her way to the room she quickly started to run slightly warm water in the sink thinking if there was a pool of water it would come off.

“ Please go in to the pool of water ? Fish like water, it's nice and warm to.”

Eri tried slowing her arm in to the water hoping the Shellder would come loose after feeling the heat from the sink. Even if her clothes got wet it was a small price to pay for getting her arm back after days of not being able to get the pokemon off. After a few seconds of hovering over the sink she finally just dunked her arm in.

“I can keep my arm here all night if need be”

That was a really empty threat but she needed to be slightly brave and show Shellder who's the trainer around here. Panicking now would only show weakness, this had to be like training a dog so following the same steps would work hopefully. A few minutes after Eri dunked her arm in the sink the Shellder finally loosened it's grip and fell to the bottom of the sink.

“Tomorrow I can ask the person in the lobby if there's a bucket I can have. J-just don't clamp on to my arm again please? “
