Applications will be normally checked during the weekend following the first and third Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated, and we will allow one application per person during one application cycle. Remember, the most characters one player can have at a time is currently set at five.

Applications received after 11:59 PM EST on Saturday of the first and third weekend of each month will be checked the following app weekend unless otherwise stated.

We now ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!

Personality: Sadie is basically a normal girl, in a normal town, where very weird stuff happens. Although, like most of the residents of Beach City, she seems to be pretty used to all the weirdness the gems can cause, and doesn't really let it faze her.

The best word to describe Sadie would probably be 'pleasant.' At least, she's certainly always been so to Steven. As an employee of the Big Donut (and usually the only one who actually works), she seems to be on friendly terms with most of the people in town. In fact, her easygoing and permissive nature can sometimes work to her detriment Even when Lars is being obnoxious, she picks up the slack for him without too much grumbling. Although she does attempt to put up resistance (insisting that Lars clean up a particular mess since she's "cleaned up the last three Stevens") she can usually be swayed with just a little persistence. For example, in Joking Victim she sympathetically allows him to take a whole day off due to a supposed back injury, only to be deeply hurt when it turns out he was lying about the whole thing. Her comments after discovering the truth indicate that this isn't the first time that something similar has happened. Even afterward, she continues to believe he'll come around if only she can properly encourage him. Essentially Sadie is an idealist, always wanting to believe the best about people (Lars in particular) despite evidence to the contrary.

On the other hand, that doesn't mean that Sadie isn't able to stand up for herself. She's very protective of those she cares about and won't hesitate to defend them when she senses that they are in danger. Despite her small stature, she doesn't shy away from physical altercations, and is actually quite strong to boot. From early on in Bubble Buddies when she smashes a stool over Steven's bubble in an attempt to free him and Connie, or later in So Many Birthdays when she uses the same stool to chase a creepy old man (Steven) out of the donut shop. Sadie really gets to shine in Island Adventure, where she takes on not only a giant fish that was trying to take a bite out of her, but she manages to bring down a gem monster entirely on her own; something no other human in the series has managed or even attempted to accomplish. When it comes to supernatural happenings, like any human she can get a little spooked, like when the lighthouse seems to be haunted by an angry ghost in Horror Club, but her primary reaction in a crisis is to stay calm and try her best to get everyone out of the situation unharmed. Ronaldo is so impressed by her levelheadedness (and clearly crushing a little) that he suggests she come back in with him to take on the ghost after they "get the civilians to safety."

Sadie can occasionally go overboard, running on emotion without thinking things through. After finding out that Lars had lied to her in Joking Victim, Steven offers her a chance to "burn him back" with incredibly spicy fire salt. Sadie does initially protest, saying that it would make her no better than him, but as Lars continues to lie to her, she decides to empty the entire container of fire salt onto his donut, causing him to breathe fire, creating a mess in the town and almost choking him in the process. In Island Adventure, Sadie takes it upon herself to "help" Lars by hiding the gem warp pad and effectively stranding them together on an island in an attempt to get closer to him. However, in both cases, she does eventually realize that she has made a big mistake and attempts to make amends.

Strengths/Weaknesses: +Physical Strength: Not just for opening pickle jars. Sadie is so far the only human on the show to have taken down a gem monster on her own (with a stick!)

+Optimism: Sadie always tries to look on the bright side and is a firm believer in second chances

+Social: Sadie gets along well with everyone in Beach City due to her friendly demeanor

+Work Ethic: She takes her job at the Big Donut seriously and is frequently the one doing most of the work

+Humor: She definitely has a sense of humor and appreciates a good joke

-Idealism: She gives Lars many more second chances than he deserves

-Jealousy: She can't stand that Lars seems to have a crush on Jenny Pizza

-Manipulativeness: Purposely strands herself, Steven and Lars on an island because she thinks it will be good for their relationship

-Vindictiveness: She plays a prank on Lars to get back at him for lying to her that could have resulted in serious injury

First Person Sample: [Sadie's cheeks are a bit pink when the camera comes on, but she is smiling, if a bit awkwardly. She clears her throat as she adjusts to make sure her full face is visible on the screen. Once satisfied, she gives a little wave.]

Hey there. I've never really one one of these video blog things... that's really more of Ronaldo's thing. Heh, I bet he'd sure have a lot to say if he were here. But, anyway, I guess this is how you're supposed to talk to people here so I guess I might as well give it a go!

So... my name's Sadie, I just got here, I'm from Beach City in Delmarva and I work at a place called the Big Donut. Uh, my favorite show is Canine Court, I like Hayley Fleet and my favorite donut is Beantown creme. [She pauses for a moment, thinking about what to say next.] Oh! [She picks up the 'gear and turns the camera around to focus on munchlax, who is sitting propped up against her backpack, wearing a green breeder's headband and contentedly munching on an oran berry.] I guess I should introduce my little buddy here, too. I named him Herb, because he reminds me a little bit of my grandpa. He really likes those berries. [She turns the camera to face herself again, a significantly closer shot now that she's holding it.] Anyway, I guess that's about it. Nice to meet everyone! [Click.]

Third Person Sample: Sadie had seen some pretty weird things. Alien hand ships, invisible monsters, vengeful ghosts, the disappearance of the entire ocean... you kind of get used to it. So when she suddenly found herself in a strange bedroom wearing weird clothes, she didn't freak out as much as she could have. "Huh." At least it didn't seem actively malicious.

She walked over to the window to see if she could figure out where she was. Wherever it was, it didn't look like she was anywhere near Beach City. The next best bet was probably to try and find some people. She went down the stairs, treading a bit cautiously in case there really was something nasty lurking around. "Hello? ... Steven?"

Whenever something weird was going on, it was almost certain that Steven's family had something to do with it.

"Down here, sweetie," a voice called up from the room below. Well, that definitely wasn't Steven, or anyone else she knew for that matter. She kept going. She wished she'd brought a stick. Just in case.

When she reached the bottom of the stairs, a small woman sitting at the table in what appeared to be a kitchen smiled at her and stood. "Good morning dear. Today's the big day! I packed your lunch." The woman didn't look anything like her mother, but she sure had the act down. As Sadie came closer, the woman held up a bulging backpack. "Everything all set for your big journey!"

Sadie took the backpack out of pure curiousity, only to be nearly dragged down to the floor with the weight of it. What was in this thing? Rocks?

She set the thing down on the floor and curiously opened up the flap. A small blue face with pointy cat ears looked up from the sack and smiled at her.

"Munch?"

When it opened its mouth, she could see remnants of chewed up food.

Somehow she got the feeling that she wasn't going to get to eat her lunch.
