Applications will be normally checked during the weekend following the first and third Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated, and we will allow one application per person during one application cycle. Remember, the most characters one player can have at a time is currently set at five.

Applications received after 11:59 PM EST on Saturday of the first and third weekend of each month will be checked the following app weekend unless otherwise stated.

We now ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. Personality: Rose Quartz is not the kind of person one would imagine as the leader of a vastly superior alien race. While she has a sort of dignity and grace to her, she also has something that we don’t commonly see in the trope: love.

Rose Quartz is a gem - a semi non-organic alien race that previously had tried to conquer earth and it’s resources. There are plenty of theories as to why Rose Quartz derailed from these ideals, but we’re going to stick to facts for now. And the facts are that Rose Quartz was powerful enough to convince people to follow her, and instill a sense of dedication and admirations amongst friends and foe alike. Through the eyes of others, we’ve heard plenty about Rose as a Leader. In ‘The Return’, Jasper claims to have respected her tactics. The Crystal Gems themselves - Rose’s associated following - have spoken about her strength, her marvelous abilities, her courage, and her love for everything.

Part of Rose’s choosing to stay on Earth comes from the ability to see beauty in everything. Rose didn’t segregate humanity from deserving any less than anyone else. It was seen as strange by other, because sometimes it seemed ill-placed. She was one of the only Gems to consider taming deformed gems - this trait was only shared later by Steven. The both of them saw something in these monsters, and tried to fix it. This wasn’t the only strange thing that Rose put her love and devotion into - she also kept a garden of deadly moss, which she guided up the hill every year so it could blossom. Even stranger to most gems, she fell utterly in love with the human race, her admiration of it’s beauty personifying in her relationship with Steven’s Dad, Greg Universe.

Rose and Greg have a very healthy and loving relationship - Greg is implied to still be very dedicated to her, even after she’s passed. They fell in love very young, at least by Greg’s standards. We can’t entirely sure of Rose’s age, as age is an illusion with Gems, and she was at least a few centuries. At the very least, though, if her appearance on their meeting matched up at all with her physical age, she must have been young by Gem standards. She and Greg do seem to have a fairly adorable case of puppy love. While Rose stood by a hesitance, due to awareness of her longer lifespan from him, she was still smitten in the same way young couples can be. She was also a goofy sort of person, regarding Greg like an adorable kind of spectacle, and getting giddy and literal with some of the things he said, particularly amused at his gimmick of space. In questioning of some of his lyrics as well, her only response is to be sympathetic, wondering why he’d ever want to leave Earth - ‘how would you get back? This is your home!’.

Despite her silliness and loving nature, Rose is acknowledged to be particularly brave, and powerful. A lot of very strong weapons have had an association with her, including the Light Cannons, and the armoury. Rose also single-handedly led the War against invading Gems, to protect mankind. Though she certainly trusted her friends to fight alongside her, she also kept secrets from them as needed, as mentioned by Pearl. It’s likely she had a much larger, individual hand in all that was involved. Along with Jasper’s admirations, considering the facts presented to us about regeneration, there’s an implication as well that Rose Quarts has never regenerated. She’s been strong enough to survive centuries without changing her physical form.

Rose is a well-balanced character, who manages to be strong, but also caring. Her immense love for everything is the reason Steven exists - as well as some reasoning beyond anything she’s professed. She saw some importance in giving up her physical form, despite an impending future war - and she had a great excitement, seeing an all-important reason that he be what he is - human.



Strengths/Weaknesses:

+ - Able to see the beauty in everything - Rose Quartz sees beauty in all living things, deadly, ugly and beautiful. It doesn’t matter to her. She would frequently tame bad gems and try to reform them. As well as bring a deadly moss to bloom and care for it.

+ Positivity - Rose not only sees the beauty in everything but she is sincere and doesn’t resort to negative ideals. She believes in others and brings out the best in those around her. She certainly is honored and respected.

+ Leadership - Rose was a leader and led the gems into battle. She persuaded the crystal gems and others to stand beside her and go against their own kind in order to protect earth and humankind. Even though they knew they could never go home she led them triumphantly into battle and to victory.

+ Resilient - Rose has managed through centuries to never regenerate and stand strong, a formidable opponent.

+ Kindness - Rose is kind hearted and filled with love. She is compassionate and goofy. She loves all living things, was willing to create life and sacrifice her own psychical form for another.

- Clandestine - While Rose is very kind on the outside and puts on a smile around others. She is not without her secrets. Pearl has stated that Rose kept many secrets and trusted them with her, but it is also implied that even Pearl was not told all that Rose knew and Rose kept her secrets for the benefit of others.

-/+ Goofball - Rose is a goof. She finds the gimmick of space from a rockstar admirable and she takes song lyrics literally. To get to the weapons in her armory you much poke yourself and make silly faces. Of course this makes her a fun spirit and a enjoyable person to be around.

(Rose is lacking in negative traits. Not much is known about her negatively.)

[The feed come into view and a rather giant woman, 8 feet tall at least, and with long, long curly cotton candy hair. Her eyes are bright and smile warm. She laughs happily and whole.]

Oh my...this is so much fun! I’ve used a device like these before...but I never thought I would get to use one of them again after Steven was born!

[She positions the screen as steadily as she can.]

There we go much better! This is my new friend I’ve found and taken a warm liking to and I’m sure they like me too. [She moves the camera to focus on an Audino that shyly waves at the feed. Rose laughs.]

Shhh, they’re a little shy. I’d never thought I’d be on earth again, well I think it’s earth. It looks like earth, there are still humans around, but I don’t remember these wonderful creatures. If anyone is listening, please tell me more about this place?

Third Person Sample: She found it odd that she had a mother suddenly. She herself was a mother but she never thought she would find herself in a house with a maternal figure and such a figure wishing her a goodbye on her journey. Apparently the guide book she had buried herself in said that she was a breeder and the equipment she found in the holding bag confirmed it. For the moment she wasn’t quite sure what that meant but if it allowed her to be around these ‘pokemon’ then of course she had no protests.

However the best news she had attained was that she was the most beautiful and wonderful creature in the world, a human. She had took pride in being a gem but to be a human opened up a whole new world that she was curious to be apart of. She could connect with Greg, if she ever saw him again and Steven…. Steven! She was on earth, some part of earth anyway which meant there was a possibility she could see her son! Though...how she could exist at the same time as him...no that wasn’t possible. She knew this and accepted it. She did not know what that meant but it was not something she wished to think on in this moment.

She picked up her bag and placed it across her shoulder. She could not perform magic and that was okay with her. She welcomed the change and decided that with her new found pokemon companion would set out on what ever journey this was. It was going to be fun! Meeting new people, exploring, and making friends with adorable pokemon!

Rose turned and gently placed a hand on the pokemon she had found herself in the presence of, “Hello there. I’m sure we are going to be the best of friends. Do you think you could tell me where I am?” There was a pause. “No?” She frowns but gently pets the creature's head, “It’s okay you can tell me when you want to. Let’s take this journey together!”
