Applications will be normally checked during the weekend following the first and third Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated, and we will allow one application per person during one application cycle. Remember, the most characters one player can have at a time is currently set at five.

Applications received after 11:59 PM EST on Saturday of the first and third weekend of each month will be checked the following app weekend unless otherwise stated.

We now ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!

The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.

Certain pokémon have an orange star next to their names; if you choose one of these starters (Deino, Zorua, Litwick, Pikachu, Scyther, Dratini, Bagon, Gible, Axew, Ralts, Riolu, Beldum, Larvitar, Eevee, or Beldum) you must provide reasoning. You do not need to explain your reasoning for pokémon other than those listed above. <b>Password:</b> This is where you'll put the passwords from the Rules and the F.A.Q. There are two words, to assure you've read both. <b><u>Samples</u></b> <b>First Person Sample:</b> The sample must take place in Route_29's setting. Eight sentences is the minimum. This is a PokéConnect post--one that will be on the character's journal, broadcast to the network. Although it is short, it needs to show how your character would communicate with others, as well as be descriptive enough to express the character's voice without sounding too generic. <b>Third Person Sample:</b> The sample must take place in Route_29's setting. The minimum is 300 words. Please note that what we are looking for is an inner working into the character’s thoughts and actions, and how the character responds to the setting, not something that could be taken as an excerpt fanfic. You may use other characters to bounce your characters actions off of, but everything should still be mostly from their point of view.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Mary isn't in the least bit physically strong, but what Mary lacks in physical strength she makes up in emotional strength. Not only does she have a strong will that can convince others of the good that she sees in them and in the world, but she is not easily shaken. She possesses a sense of self and a calm demeanour that means when she sees terrible things she can process and understand them more easily than most. She would still recognize these events as horrible, but unlike most children she has the strength to keep going during terrifying situations while still having a firm grasp on reason.

Because Mary is usually so strong and able to be there for all the people around her, sometimes she overburdens herself. She forgets that other people are there for her as well, and instead tries to keep it inside and keep a stiff upper lip. She will usually find someone to talk with before she can't take any more since she is smart enough to know that she needs to sometimes let her anxiety out. Mary can also become less sure of herself when she feels alone; not just when she's on her own for a time, but when she doesn't have anyone that she can trust around her. Cain gave her a reason to live by living himself, and Oscar and the family and her belief that Cain survived gave her reason to keep fighting when Cain went missing.

Her ability to reason is sharp, and she well knows the dangers there can be for children in the world, so she is very careful when it comes to who she will listen to and take advice from. She is however sometimes sees the good in people, and will keep associating with potentially dangerous people if she sees a chance that she might be able to sway their thoughts and opinions to seeing the good in the world.

Mary is also intuitive. She can read tarot cards in such a manner that she can accurately predict the future. In addition she has the ability to see spirits. She uses these abilities to help her survive by selling tarot card readings. She cannot, however, see her own fate in this manner, only the fates of others. Even if she does not have these powers in Route 29, she still can give tarot readings that aren’t nearly as accurate, but are somewhat accurate based on what she can subconsciously get hints from the person she is reading for, and the different possibilities that the drawn cards have in meaning.

Besides reading tarot, Mary is also proven to be very smart. She was able to catch up several years worth of lessons in little more than a year. She is shown having a quick wit when it comes to one of her teachers, as she teases the teacher while correcting her. As a part of the standard lessons for a child of her age she would be able to play some piano, which she has abhorred doing, as well as know reading, writing, basic arithmetic, basic needlework, and some French.
