Applications will be normally checked during the weekend following the first and third Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated, and we will allow one application per person during one application cycle. Remember, the most characters one player can have at a time is currently set at five.
Applications received after 11:59 PM EST on Saturday of the first and third weekend of each month will be checked the following app weekend unless otherwise stated.
The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.
Please use the form below and post your application in comments rather than linking if you can. If you have any questions, feel free to ask either of the mods. You can reach us through emails, IMs, or PMs.
A reminder for those waiting to hear back, please don't be worried if we skip yours while going through them. It only means we needed a little more time to research!
Helpful links!

Please do not app a character from either of these unless you reserved them!
Starter Pokémon!
A compiled list of the starter pokémon to choose from offered in Route 29!
Word Count Tool!
Word count! It has other pointless stats too.

I already mentioned his issues with authority in the previous personality section. Not much of that is going to change in Route unless he picks up any specific CR that makes him question otherwise.
I can, however, talk about the most important aspect of Cecil's character when placing him in another game, and that's his sense of community and civic pride, a quality that clashes with his workaholism and Night Valean insularity.
Cecil is a man who loves community togetherness. That comes up a bucketload of times in canon--he spends the end of every episode reminding his listeners how valuable they are as people--and he derives a great deal of happiness from seeing his community be able to rebuild itself after a tragedy, or bond with each other in times of peace. He's also extremely protective of his community (especially his inner circle of family and his few close friends) and wishes to protect it from outsiders who might harm them. And boy howdy, given his actions against Strex and some of the other stuff sprinkled around canon? He can get downright vicious if anyone in his community is threatened by an outsider. Seriously. He threatened to murder the people who endangered his niece and his cat.
So far, however, this pretty much just extends to Night Vale. It's going to take some time after the initial "freakout" for him to properly adjust to his new setting, and he might attach himself more to his Pokemon than other characters for the first few weeks. He still has lingering doubts about the outside world after Strex has come and gone, so while he wouldn't be openly hostile to anyone in Route, he'd have quite a bit of suspicion lingering inside of him for a long time.
This insularity is also made even more difficult with the fact that, in the absence of Carlos, he's prone to becoming a huge workaholic, which makes it difficult to find time even for the people he cares about.
From the canon point I picked him from, he's in the middle of the realization that he needs to get out and interact more with the community he says he loves so much, and this can also apply to the people he meets in Route once he gets settled in. His position as an obvious outsider means it won't be quite so easy as it was in Night Vale, however, and in canon, he doesn't seem to get attached to others easily: he has a very small circle of friends, his boyfriend, and his immediate family, and that's about it. So expect him in Route to have only a paltry handful of people he'd consider friends even after a long time, despite being fairly gregarious in general. It's entirely likely that at the start, even after he lets his guard down, he'd spend lots of time with his Pokemon and give eggs away pretty freely, but not do much traveling with other trainers or face-to-face interaction outside of events. This can change with CR, though.
The one exception to this rule is that he loves animals, so, once again, he's going to attach himself to his Pokemon much earlier than other people. He's also shown himself to be more trusting and supportive around teenagers or children than he is around adults, so I expect more of his positive CR in the early days of Route to be with younger trainers.
