The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.
Please use the form below and post your application in comments rather than linking if you can. If you have any questions, feel free to ask either of the mods. You can reach us through emails, IMs, or PMs.
A reminder for those waiting to hear back, please don't be worried if we skip yours while going through them. It only means we needed a little more time to research!

Impmon’s Entry on the Digimon Wiki
Personality:
Impmon suffers from a deep-seated inferiority complex tied to his strength or lack thereof. The world he was born in, the Digital World, was a literally dog-eat-dog environment. The strong preyed on the weak and the only sure method of survival was to kill those weaker than you, absorb their data, and become stronger yourself. Even after making it to the relative safety of the real world, Impmon retained a desire to grow stronger and evolve. This desire slowly grew into a dangerous obsession, with each failed attempt at battling and absorbing data serving only to fuel Impmon's conviction that gaining power would earn him the respect he felt he deserved (or any respect at all). This was only exacerbated by the apparent ease with which the other Digimon in the Shinjuku area leapt up the evolutionary ladder with the help of their human partners. Impmon compensates for his inferiorities -perceived or real- by talking himself up a great deal. When his attempted partnership with a pair of young children fell apart, for example, he began telling anyone who would listen that partnering with humans wasn't necessary and something only suckers with no pride did anyway. When it became clear he couldn't evolve? Well obviously he was so strong anyway he didn't NEED to. In both cases, his bluster was more about convincing himself than others; a way to bolster his ego and give himself a sense of power when he was sure he didn't have any that mattered.
A prankster by nature, Impmon easily slips into bullying behavior; he's so outclassed most of the time that he jumps on the opportunity to prove he's more powerful than ANYONE. This manifested in the past as anything ranging from the malicious but mostly harmless, like scaring couples in the park and literally stealing sweets from a toddler, to the potentially deadly, like attacking another Digimon he believed wouldn't fight back or trying to fight human police. At his absolute lowest Impmon's feelings of inadequacy and rejection pushed him into betraying his friends for power; killing Leomon, partner of Juri Katou, before being defeated. Impmon later came to deeply regret his actions, his obsession with gaining strength becoming a need to make amends as best he could. In both cases Impmon poured everything he had into his chosen cause, pushing himself until he was near death before quitting.
Impmon is fairly lonely, but he tends to bring it on himself. After his partnership with the human children Ai and Mako failed, Impmon convinced himself that he was better off alone anyway. Combined with his need to build himself up, this means that his initial overtures of friendship of friendship often deteriorate into boasting or outright insults. Essentially, he wants to join in whatever fun is going on but needs to be invited rather than just asking. This was made explicitly clear on at least one occasion when he followed two of the tamer children -Takato and Li, with their partner Digimon Guilmon and Terriermon- on a class trip, loudly jeering at their relaxation and complaining that they hadn't thought to invite him. Impmon later learns from his mistakes (or at least from being near death and getting rescued by the people he had betrayed) and began approaching others less abrasively. When he later appears to help the tamers fight a powerful enemy he still falls into his blustering macho persona, but makes it clear that he's aware of how badly he's hurt them in the past and that this is his way of trying to make good. Impmon also approaches Ai and Makoto again, trying to restore their broken partnership.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+Determined: Once Impmon sets a goal for himself he doesn't give up until he's near dead.
+Survivor: Impmon has managed to survive living alone in the real and digital worlds, as well as losing fights with enemies well above his own level of power. He's proven pretty hard to kill.
+Athletic Ability: As a Digimon, Impmon's physical capabilities were beyond those of a normal human's; he routinely moved around rooftops and telephone poles with ease, and was more physically durable than a human. As a human, these abilities will of course be drastically reduced, but he's still in pretty good shape.
+/-Brave/Reckless: On the upside, Impmon isn't afraid of attacking an enemy several orders of magnitude stronger than himself. On the downside, Impmon isn't afraid of attacking an enemy several orders of magnitude stronger than himself.
-Arrogance/Insecurity: Impmon has very little faith in himself and his abilities. He tends to compensate by talking himself up, or talking down to others.
-Abrasive: Related to the above, Impmon is socially awkward at best. He's loud and rude, and his general approach to making new friends seems to be "maybe if I insult them enough they'll like me."
-Temper: Related to the above two items, Impmon has some anger issues.
-Illiterate: Impmon cannot read, or at least not much.

First Person Sample:
These freakin' things are EVERYWHERE!
[A late night video broadcast from an extremely angry child: just what everyone wanted, right?]
[Wherever Impmon is, it's dark. He's in some kind of makeshift tent, illuminated only by the glow of a Charmander's tail. A constant, telltale fluttering of wings outside gives a pretty good indication of exactly what 'things' have him so riled.]
I can't take two steps in this place without catching a goddamn bat with my face. I was out of that 'Repel' crap two hours into the cave!
[He is definitely not pouting. That would be undignified.]
You think they’d learn after we toasted two or three of ‘em, but no. They just keep coming!
[Impmon turns from the camera for a moment, looking intently at fabric wall of his tent. A few more Zubat can be heard shooting by, at least one of them physically hitting the tent before flapping off into the darkness.]
It’s almost like they WANT to get destroyed. Absolutely pathetic.
[He shudders a bit, almost imperceptibly.]
We don’t have the time to pander to every one of these stupid things’ death wishes. Barely been here a day and I’m already sick of this place.
Third Person Sample:
Impmon hunched over the PC's keyboard, trying to look like he knew what he was doing. Or at least trying to be inconspicuous in his trial-and-error use of the machine. A task currently being made more difficult than usual by the Zubat clinging to the back of Impmon's head, absent-mindedly chewing on his hair. Impmon gave an irritated swat in the bat's general direction, but it didn't come close enough to do much besides stir the air a little.
"Knock it off."
"Skreek!"
"And shut up!"
Casting a furtive glance around the Pokémon Center to see if the minor outburst had drawn any attention, Impmon turned back to the computer. If anyone HAD noticed, they were too wrapped up in their own business to give more than a passing look to the shrimpy kid with the clingy Zubat.
The PC had a short set of printed instructions posted beside the monitor; Impmon ran a gloved finger slowly down the list, hoping that the characters might spontaneously decipher themselves in his brain. A few letters and words leapt out as recognizable, but the whole thing was largely a mess of unreadable hieroglyphics.
“...can’t be that hard, right?”
“Skeek.”
“I said shush.”
After staring at the patiently glowing screen for another moment, trying to glean meaning from it through sheer willpower, Impmon cautiously moved the mouse over the most likely-seeming option and clicked. There was a moment of tense waiting as the computer processed, and then a colorful display of Impmon's stored Pokémon appeared. Impmon let out a short breath, leaning back a little in the computer station's small chair and smirking.
"See? No problem."
"Skreek-eek."
"Don't gimme that," Impmon said, leaning forward to grab the mouse again. "You're just jealous you don't have thumbs."
"Skeek."
Impmon carefully moved the cursor along the rows of stored Pokémon, examining each one carefully until he found the one he wanted.
"...so now we just take it, right? "
A hesitant click pulled up a small drop-down menu; Impmon again went down the options carefully, seeing if anything looked familiar. Seeing nothing, Impmon inhaled and clicked again.
The PC gave a short chirp and threw up an angry red box that Impmon didn't need to read to tell him it was an error or warning. He swore under his breath, earning a squeak of disapproval from his Zubat as he closed the error window a little more forcefully than necessary.
"Shut up, I can do this."
"Skeek?"
"Just gimme a freakin' minute!"
Impmon attacked the pop-up menu again, clicking every option in turn just a bit too aggressively to be called 'methodically'. Each attempt brought a fresh error to the screen and a slow crescendo of muttered profanity from Impmon. Impmon tried the first option again after a few seconds of frantic clicking, once again bringing up the unreadable warning.
"GodDAMMIT!"
Impmon smacked the keyboard in frustration, which at the very least resulted in something besides a warning dialogue; the entire screen flickered for a moment before turning to a vivid blue background covered in white text. Impmon froze, staring at the screen for a moment before trying to look around without actually moving.
"...this thing's a defective piece of junk."
"Skreek."
"Shut up."
