Ramza Beoulve | Final Fantasy Tactics | Re-App

Current Characters in Route: None!
Character
Name: Ramza Beoulve/Lugria. Currently he is using the name Lugria, but...
Series: Final Fantasy Tactics.
Timeline: After Princess Ovelia was kidnapped from the Orbonne Monastery.
Canon Resource Links: Let's all go to the Final Fantasy Wiki!
As a note, I will be going by the War of the Lions translation/extra events, if that ever comes up due to canon updates or canonmates. He also retains his memories from his last visit to the world of Pokemon.
Personality:
Ramza Beoulve... is a Beoulve. His name is a large part of his identity - so before I get onto the brunt of Ramza, let us discuss the Beoulve family.
House Beoulve is a well-established noble family, in the land of Ivalice. They have a reputation of nobility, serving Duke Larg. Ramza was the youngest male of the family - born to the second marrage of his father. And his mother? A commoner. As such, he was seen as the worst of the three, being not fully noble blood. (He also has a younger sister, Alma.) At the time Ramza begin his journey, Ivalice was also still recoving from the Fifty Years' War - where Ivalice lost quite a bit, due to nobles fighting over trying to claim the land of Zelmonia from Ordallia. Ivalice lost, and the land was still in quite a bit of strife. So, yes, Ivalice is not the nicest place right now.
However, (this is the end of the history section!), Ramza lived as a Beoulve until his canon point. He was treated as a noble - as such, Ramza did not know how terrible Ivalice had grown. He walks as a noble, he talks like one - when you first see the youth, you'll see what looks like a stuck up squire standing there, his glance probably turning to stare at you with his normal expression of... lineface? The slightest of frowns.
If you get to talk to Ramza, though, you'll learn he's not as stuck up as his brothers, or even most other Squires at the Akademy he trained at until recently. He actually knows how to take a joke. However, Ramza is a serious young boy - he's not one to give a yell of cheer, he is one more to see the world with a slight frown, keeping his noble stance. He is also not the sort to suck up praise and smile at it. He works hard to prove he is worthy of being a Beoulve, and he can enjoy being praised without needing to show off. On the other hand, it does make him feel good. Duh. Even his sister, the person Ramza feels closest too in his family, notices this - and is worried for her brother. Oh well.
His interactions with others are actually important - the way he treats people... unlike his brothers, or other nobles, Ramza tries his hardest not to judge people on their class. However, he has trouble with this - he can't see the life of a commoner, no matter how hard he tries. Even though he knows him and Delita are friends, he still has the slightest tinge of seeing himself better then him, and far better then the common thieves and rouges that travel the lands, trying to bring down the noble families. He has a strange sense of confidence - though he knows he is not better then his brothers, he is confident on the battlefield, knowing he's stronger then the common man. This confidence has been shaken a little by his new canon point, but not by much. He'll prove himself without being a Beoulve.
However, Ramza is also the sort of guy to do what's right without stopping and falling back. For example, the whole plot to rescue the marquis, he didn't care he was abandoning his own duties. (Though, to be honest, at this canon point? Ramza idly wonders if doing this was truly the right thing. Because of it, Tietra died... right? But he doesn't blame himself for that, in any way.) Even if he is easily manipulated by the praise of the Duke... if Tietra hadn't died in that battle, if Delita hadn't swayed Ramza from saving Milleuda, Ramza may have ended up doing quite a bit of villain stuff. Though - Ramza is also the sort to not just draw his blade, when there are still words to say. He wants to try to help people, not just run them over.
Ramza, as I mentioned already, is serious about his studies. He is rather book smart, because of that - well, book smart for Ivalice. He knows quite a bit about the history of the land, as well as smaller things, like what the word 'sietch' means in Ivalice. He also has no qualms over killing people to uphold how the world should be - that is, he had none of them... until Tietra died, and he ran from his own past, right now. He is still shaken by this, and still has doubts about his place. Right now, in his canon point, he is simply following the orders of Goffard Gaffgarion - a twisted man, but one Ramza trusts with his whole heart.
So, to finish this personality? Ramza has quite a bit of self-doubt, but he won't let that get in the way of his true goals - whatever he may decide what they are in Johto. His morals, which were guided by his father, aren't just like that. He wishes to... well, have a quote!
'Tolerate no injustice. Stray not from the true path. You will know the path you must walk. A Beoulve can walk no other...'
And that is what Ramza is trying, even now, as he has abandoned the name of Beoulve.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Ramza is trained as a squire, canonly - and, with his canon zodiac sign, he actually has a skill which can carry over without weapons... Stone! :D Wherein he throws stone. As he has been trained as a knight, as well, he can survive long treks - both in Ivalice and in Route.
+ Hokay. So, in Ivalice, certain classes can get monsters to join them. So Ramza does know of raising monsters - plus, he is the leader of a clan, so he does understand how to command groups of creatures before entering Johto. He can also play the grass whistle - taught to him by his father, a connection to Delita as well.
+ Ramza is reliable - he won't allow himself to stray from helping somebody, once he has decided on it. In the future, Ramza does end up saving all of Ivalice to get his sister back, after all.
+ He is a team player - plus, he does have a big helpful streak. Even if he's a sellsword, he can't just leave somebody to die. (Unless it's Argath. Fuck rescuing him, that makes his mission so super hard.)
+ This isn't really much of his personality, but it is important to his world. In Ivalice, religion is a thing. It's not just a thing - it's rather strong in everybody. So, yes, Ramza has faith in the Gods. But everybody does in his world, give or take a few, so it's not unique? I'm just putting it here because I can okay. (No I am not going to talk your ear off about the mechanics of Faith and Bravery, but I do headcanon Ramza having both of those rather high, because of the scene later in the game where he still prays at the church even when he's been branded a heretic...)
Let's just put his morals here - his strong sense of right and wrong, one which does change over the course of his canon - but since Ramza is early-canon, I would put it as both a plus and minus.
- The big one - Ivalice does not have technology. Ramza does not get it. He will be confused in his own over-serious way. The monsters are also more... monster-like.
- He was almost coddled by his siblings - keeping his naive of the world outside the Akademy. He may be disgusted by his brothers, but he does have a certain nativity to his actions. In other words, he may act better then you, but that's just because of his upbringing. Or, in other words, he still speaks in that noble way, even when trying to be a commoner.
- Speaking of, class struggles! Though Ramza doesn't do it intentionally, he does respect people of higher class quite a bit, and does treat people by their position - a position is rather important to him, even as he tries to act the part of a lowblood.
- Ramza is not a liar - except of his last name, of course. Right now, he is going by Lugria - but he will not lie to better himself. For example, he wouldn't let Delita take the fall for leaving their posts to save the Marquis.
- Ramza is serious - and will have trouble accepting this land, and how odd it is. Though he is a quiet boy, change is something which is rough on him - and what is a larger change then being lost in a land like this? Not much, I'd wager.

First Person Sample:
[Time for some familiar lineface, as Ramza is staring forward. Behind him is a very happy Noctowl.]
...I have been here before - my name is Ramza Lugria. 'Tis no way to leave, but there are many paths to explore. Is it still the case?
[A pause. Perhaps he should have gathered his thoughts first? His mind is racing, as he ponders so many things. Who...]
Who has remained, as I left? I'd not expect everybody to still be here. 'Twould not be my luck.
[Was he. Was he trying to tell a joke? His face hasn't changed as he's spoken, until now. His face now falls, though.]
I've also got my own question, however. If you've... If you've left and return, what happens to your partners? I've got Hildegarde, but I've not seen any other ones waiting for me...
[His voice lowers. If he's lost some of his partners, or ones he'd adopted... Ramza was scared. He wanted them to be happy.]
...That is all. I've no more to say.
[And Ramza turns off his feed, before sitting with his bird. He'll find a ride-able partner soon, and hopefully, a Skarmory. He misses swordbirds. :T]
Third Person Sample:
Darn--
Ramza had snapped awake with a start. Delita lived. Delita lived, and he had taken the princess, and he could have caught up to him and asked him so many questions. But no. Sweat dripping, Ramza wasn't standing in Ivalice, tired and by Lady Agrias. Instead, he was in a familiar bed, even if he'd only felt it once before. This was... Johto, wasn't it? Within a moment, his mind races, his memories returning.
He's been here before. After he seemingly lost Delita, and abandoned his family. How long had it been? That was still fuzzy. This land, though, was full of wonders. A world where machines existed and kept it running, and monsters were common-place pets. If he recalled right, outside was where he'd met Sevrin, and began his quest.
That familiar ball was on his belt. Something felt different, though - did it have to do with the armour he wore? He'd need to get outside to see.
--
Outside, the sun was warm. It felt... nice. That's the term he'd use. Closing his eyes, Ramza let out a slight relaxed sigh. This place felt calm, it felt almost like... home. More like a home then Ivalice, that was. He remembered friends, and he felt his purpose could mean more here. Without the pressure of Ivalice, without anybody knowing of his family name. Except for Princess Cadance, but... it was nice.
Pressing the button on the Pokeball, Ramza was prepared for that familiar flop of Sevrin, his former Stunfisk. But instead, the light inside soared to the skies, and out appeared a familiar Noctowl, letting out happy chirps as she soared, before landing in front of Ramza, spreading her wings.
Ramza let out a slight gasp, before stopping himself. "Hildegarde," he said quietly, "it seems we've been destined to become part of the same party once more. I wonder who else has stayed?"
There's no point delaying it. Ramza grabs out his Pokegear - Hildegarde suddenly nesting around Ramza, so happy to see her trainer once more - as he started to record a post...

If a character is reapplied for by the same player, or if a new player wishes to take off where a first player left off, the character will still awaken in New Bark Town or Goldenrod City. If their starter is not a limited one, then they will be able to regain their starter up to Level 30. They will not have any other pokémon from their party, badges earned, money, or clothing.
Therefore, the only Pokemon Ramza could potentially regain to his party by reapping is his Stunfisk; as we cannot process your application until you have listed a valid starter, please let us know if he will be reclaiming Sevrin or if he will be picking a new starter at level 5, instead!
