Applications will be normally checked during the weekend following the first and third Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated, and we will allow one application per person during one application cycle. Remember, the most characters one player can have at a time is currently set at five.
Applications received after 11:59 PM EST on Saturday of the first and third weekend of each month will be checked the following app weekend unless otherwise stated.
The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.
Please use the form below and post your application in comments rather than linking if you can. If you have any questions, feel free to ask either of the mods. You can reach us through emails, IMs, or PMs.
A reminder for those waiting to hear back, please don't be worried if we skip yours while going through them. It only means we needed a little more time to research!

Re: PENDING
Kagura generally thinks before she speaks, thus, her interactions with others are semi-limited. While this can change (depending upon if she's provoked, surprised or otherwise compromised), her interactions generally follow two routes: either she feels that the person she is talking to would be a worthy ally or they can give her information that she needs, or that they are entertaining enough to torment. Either way, when she talks, she is generally short with whomever she is talking to, sticking to internal processing rather than thinking out loud. Simply put, she is not one for short talk and finds no need for it.
When talking to others, she speaks to people differently based on how she views them. Someone not worth her time will get little more than a dismissal, enemies get taunted, and someone who annoys her will get snide comments made to their face. Speaking on the issue of respect, Kagura seems to have very little for anyone, at least when she speaks to them. She doesn't really hold her tongue often in anger, and when talking to someone she respects, it's barely better than someone she doesn't: her tone is still casual, even semi-disregarding. No matter who you are, Kagura seems off-putting and rude.
Really, how close you are to Kagura is shown by what kind of information she gives you. The more information she gives you, the more she likes you. But that doesn't mean she'll be direct, either. She's prone to being a hint dropper, and those hints are vague, but not vague to the point that no one will get them. After all, since all of her motions are being watched, it makes the most sense to be as careful as she can.
As for how she analyzes others, it's a lot of connecting the dots that aren't so obvious. As an example, I'll use Kagura finding out that Naraku is a half demon. Kagura notices that Naraku's usually strong barrier is growing weak during one night of the month when Koga can actually smell Naraku (which is normally prevented by the barrier), where he retreats to the cellar and refuses to let her go out. During this night, she realizes that half-demons have a night of weakness one night of the month when she fights Inuyasha. When she gets back to the castle that Naraku is staying at, she goes to the cellar, and realizes that he's not simply rearranging himself--that was his night of weakness, and that's why he won't let her go out or come out of the cellar. She understands this before anyone in the main cast does, and plans to use it to her advantage.
When analyzing a person, she goes off of what she understands about them from the information given. If someone is being secretive, like Naraku was, not only does she try to figure out what it is, she uses the information that she has--his barrier is weak, he won't let anyone leave-- to try and understand what they are hiding. Also, she remembers past actions and can infer things based on what exactly was done. Naraku had given Kagura Hakudoshi to take care of, and Kanna the other half, known as the Infant. Knowing that Naraku saw his humanity as a weakness and that he would have cast it off allowed her to understand that this pair probably was it, and she also knew that she was not trusted by Naraku. So, thus, she inferred, the part that Kanna was given was Naraku's heart, and that would allow him to be killed. She analyzes people based on actions, abilities, and their past.
First Person Sample:
"Che. Just get it over with." Kagura handed over the pokeball that held her fainted Hoothoot, not bothering to make eye contact with the petite nurse who had asked for them a few seconds earlier. The slightly frightened nurse took it and started to heal it using the machine that Kagura understood as using a spell or charm of some sort to help the animal who had been injured. The woman handed it over a minute later, and Kagura snatched it up without so much as a "thank you" as she headed towards the door.
As far as she was concerned, however, none of this stuff mattered. Not the bird inside the ball she was now holding, not this completely insane world where people trapped dumb animals in balls to fight with each other because they were too weak to fight themselves. While it did interest her to figure out how she'd ended up here and why, it was not really on her mind. What was, though, was the fact that Naraku was not here with her. She couldn't think that she was free, not just yet. He was not the type to let someone go without making them suffer, she knew. The memory of being locked up for six months inside that dungeon creeped up in her memory, and it only served to steel her mind even more that this was a trap, and a dangerous one at that.
"Are you done?" the raven asked in a low tone as she stepped outside. She was lucky enough to run into this fellow, who reminded her of Sesshomaru in a heartbeat. From what she could tell, he was just as strong, and just as secretive. He would be a powerful ally to have, she knew. His strength and seriousness would go to his animals as well, and they would be strong. Having him beside her in a fight of these animals made her confident that she would win, and if it was anything to go by, winning was the way out of this place.
And she would use him to her greatest advantage. "Let's go." she said, heading towards the tall grass. "Lets get this over with."
