APPLICATIONS!
Currently: Closed!
Route 29 has closed as of May 30th. For the continuation of the game, please visit [community profile] victory_road!

Applications will be normally checked during the weekend following the first and third Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated, and we will allow one application per person during one application cycle. Remember, the most characters one player can have at a time is currently set at five.

Applications received after 11:59 PM EST on Saturday of the first and third weekend of each month will be checked the following app weekend unless otherwise stated.

We now ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!

The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.

Please use the form below and post your application in comments rather than linking if you can. If you have any questions, feel free to ask either of the mods. You can reach us through emails, IMs, or PMs.

A reminder for those waiting to hear back, please don't be worried if we skip yours while going through them. It only means we needed a little more time to research!

Helpful links!

Strengths and Weaknesses:
For Otoya's strengths, he would tell you that his talents are his strengths. His dogma is to make people happy and help them in any way he can. Because his singing, dancing, and entertaining bring people happiness, he uses them as strengths in order to fulfill his personal goal in bringing people joy. He was also accepted at an elite performing arts academy in the top .05%. His talents are definitely something to be viewed as strengths with that amount of skill, even if it's mostly raw potential.

His athleticism will assist him more tasking trials such as long stints of travel, climbing, swimming, and having to keep up with any of the general requirements of energy and physical need of journeying.

His strong personality and ability to get along with people will allow him to build long-lasting and positive bonds that could help him in the future. He may get an egg to raise as a new companion from a new friend, a tip on how to train a certain type of pokemon, or learning some kind of shortcut through towns from a person he was able to charm with his genuine smile. In any situation in which information is vital to succeeding in a goal such as trying to catch pokemon and gain badges, having a good personality is definitely a good strength to have.

As for weaknesses that hinder him, well, when it comes to doing the right thing or helping someone in need, he wouldn't allow his weaknesses to hinder him. Or try to not let them at least.

Being inexperienced in survival situations can allow him to get lost, be hungry, get him hurt, sick, or perhaps worse. If one doesn't have the right now how for certain situations, the outcome can be less than stellar. In this case, he will need a lot of help from people with more knowledge in the world of adventure than others may.

Acting first and thinking later can lead him into horrible situations. He may find himself up a creek without a paddle. He is the type to get so wrapped up in the excitement of something that he doesn't stop to think of the consequences that may arise from those actions. For example, he may think that since his fire-type pokemon is strong against grass type that it would be a piece of cake to beat an opponent that has one, but he doesn't stop to think that maybe the other opponent has another pokemon up their sleeve or that maybe that grass type is as a level far, far higher than his own. That could get his own pokemon hurt in the process which would leave him in a bad situation.

Which directly leads into getting flustered easily. Say his pokemon was unexpectedly hurt. His inexperience in basic survival skills as well as his racing mind would lead him into a short burst of panic where every second counts and he needs to cool down, think, then act. Each weakness leads into the other and in situations where a cool, calm, thoughtful head is in order, this could be troublesome when a crisis arises and he would need someone to be there for him and help him out some.

But again, he isn't the type to let his weaknesses hinder him and he would do his best to overcome them especially if someone were in danger. He'd have to get by with a little help from his friends.
