Applications will be normally checked during the weekend following the first and third Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated, and we will allow one application per person during one application cycle. Remember, the most characters one player can have at a time is currently set at five.

Applications received after 11:59 PM EST on Saturday of the first and third weekend of each month will be checked the following app weekend unless otherwise stated.

We now ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!

The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.

(For right now, only those three positions are available, whether your character chooses to follow their assigned path or not.)
Starter: What starter pokémon do you want your character to have? Please use the list linked above to choose from. Certain pokémon have an orange star next to their names; if you choose one of these starters (Deino, Zorua, Litwick, Pikachu, Scyther, Dratini, Bagon, Gible, Axew, Ralts, Riolu, Beldum, Larvitar, Eevee, or Beldum) you must provide reasoning. You do not need to explain your reasoning for pokémon other than those listed above.
Password: This is where you'll put the passwords from the Rules and the F.A.Q. There are two words, to assure you've read both.

Samples
First Person Sample: The sample must take place in Route_29's setting. Eight sentences is the minimum. This is a PokéConnect post--one that will be on the character's journal, broadcast to the network. Although it is short, it needs to show how your character would communicate with others, as well as be descriptive enough to express the character's voice without sounding too generic.

Third Person Sample: The sample must take place in Route_29's setting. The minimum is 300 words. Please note that what we are looking for is an inner working into the character’s thoughts and actions, and how the character responds to the setting, not something that could be taken as an excerpt fanfic. You may use other characters to bounce your characters actions off of, but everything should still be mostly from their point of view.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

✧ Itachi is intelligent. Able to make plans years in advance. He's also a fast learner and quick thinking.
✧ Excels at being a double agent.
✧ A great actor and can lie with ease.
✧ Excellent accuracy with throwing weapons.
✧ He's a sneaky SOB. Literally. Itachi can sneak in and out of places with ease. Comes with years of shinobi training.
✧ Can theft things pretty good too.
✧ Itachi is capable of doing household chores such as cleaning, laundry and even cooking. He can also take care of a baby.
✧ Very observant to the things around him. He's very perceptive and picks up on small details that may seem insignificant.
✧ Can keep going with nothing more than determination and strength of will.
✧ Seemingly endless patience.
✧ Doesn't show surprise. In fact, Itachi's got himself a pretty good mask that he wears.

✧✦ Protective older brother complex.
This is honestly both a strength and a weakness for Itachi. He loves his brother to the point where Itachi would kill/massacre to keep him safe. However, if this is known, it can also be used against him by threatening Sasuke's life.
✧✦ Extremely, fiercely loyal.
Again, both a strength and weakness. It's actually really hard to get Itachi's loyalty despite the fact that he seems to defect easily. But once a person has it, they have it for life. This means that he would protect them with everything he's got. Pair that with his self-sacrificing quality and it can quickly turn to a bad thing.

✦ He's sick. As in -- coughing up blood, needs medicine, could die at any minute -- kind of sick. ~~He's also dead, twice over.~~ Luckily, he'll be a bit healthier here.
✦ Has bad eyesight. As in -- things are blurry and it's only getting worse -- but he'd never show someone that weakness.
✦ Secretly a pacifist. Because of it, Itachi tends to lean away from the final blows and leaves people incapacitated. This is a huge weakness in his world.
✦ Not all that good at making friends.
✦ Self-sacrificing. Though Itachi takes this to the extreme and will do anything to protect the one who's most important to him.
✦ Can have a bit of a sharp tongue. Itachi can take details and use them to slice a person.
✦ Not very trusting.
✦ Doesn't work well with others.

First Person Sample:

[The video feature flicks on but it's completely black and is silent for a minute. Perhaps it was done on accident. But wait, no, that's not the case. There's a man's voice, unidentifiable except to those who know him. Either way, he sounds unamused.]

A world where you collect animals and let them do the fighting for you. Seems cruel. Or perhaps you just don't see it that way. Using creatures to collect ridiculous badges. What good will it do you when you leave this place? If you leave this world.

[Itachi pauses, silence fills the moment.]

How many of you still continue your own physical training as you level up your creatures? Would you be capable of taking down your enemy without the aide of your Pokemon? Would you be satisfied if you couldn't? [Yes, Sasuke. Those last two questions were specifically aimed towards you.]

It also appears that the dead walk among us. [Does he know about the other shinobi or simply referring to himself -- hard to tell. Some might not even recognize him by voice alone. So finally he shifts it around to reveal his face. Itachi doesn't have the hitae-ai sitting upon his forehead like usual and his surroundings are hard to pinpoint.]

[He sighs as if this is all a big bother or an annoyance.] I suppose it's only polite to introduce myself. My name is Uchiha Itachi.

[Does he know it's dangerous to introduce himself as an Uchiha? Yes. Does he care? Not really.]

Third Person Sample:

This week could not go by fast enough and it was only nearing the end of the second day. It wasn’t hard to master the skills this Rocket organization wanted him to. Stealth had been something Itachi had been learning since he could walk. All of the tasks set before him to learn -- those were things that were already familiar to him. Even without his chakra Itachi could manage to do it in his sleep, or in his half-blind state. So the only thing this training was giving him was more information on the city, on the organization and the inhabitants of this strange world.

Some aspects of the organization certainly reminded him of the Akatsuki, certainly not nearly as bad though. They were more like a bully who took candy from a kid smaller than them. Of course, it could all run deeper than that. There could be some privately guarded secret that only the most loyal knew about. That was not including the other Rocket members who seemed to be native to this world. Itachi trusted none of the other guest Rocket section, not when they could have come from a world just as violent as his.

He’d also heard something about Sasuke in the last couple of days. If someone had gone out of their way to purposely single out his brother then there was absolutely no way Itachi could duck out. The better idea was to stick around and learn what he could for as long as possible. It was easier to protect Sasuke from within the organization out to get him. Something working with the Akatsuki had taught him. It didn’t matter if he had to do terrible things in order to look after his little brother, he would do them all.

He would don the mask of lies, deception and coldness all over again. Itachi had years of practice of being the unsociable, murdering bastard. The impassive look he had upon his face now was perfected as he strolled about the town. His Growlithe, Gokakyu, padded along loyally a couple of paces behind him as he searched for an unsuspecting victim to pickpocket. It was a bit harder to do when things were blurry shapes but he could pick a couple of people out in the light of day. They would be his target as they were engrossed in their conversation.
