APPLICATIONS!
Currently: Closed!
Route 29 has closed as of May 30th. For the continuation of the game, please visit [community profile] victory_road!

Applications will be normally checked during the weekend following the first and third Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated, and we will allow one application per person during one application cycle. Remember, the most characters one player can have at a time is currently set at five.

Applications received after 11:59 PM EST on Saturday of the first and third weekend of each month will be checked the following app weekend unless otherwise stated.

We now ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!

The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.

Please use the form below and post your application in comments rather than linking if you can. If you have any questions, feel free to ask either of the mods. You can reach us through emails, IMs, or PMs.

A reminder for those waiting to hear back, please don't be worried if we skip yours while going through them. It only means we needed a little more time to research!

Character
Name: Reeve Tuesti
Series: Final Fantasy VII Compilation
Timeline: Post ACC
Canon Resource Links: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Reeve_Tuesti

Personality:
Reeve is a complex puzzle of a man whether people realize it or not. It possibly could even be said the man literally has two faces, one human and the other feline.

The human side is calm, collected and at times can seem to be rather stern in appearance. The man is rather intelligent as shown by his designing the layout of Midgar as well as the Mako reactors; not to mention his creation of Cait Sith, the robotic feline he often seems to treat both as something of an extension of himself; an alter-ego if you will, and at times something of a child of his.

The feline by contrast is rather vibrant, happy-go-lucky and can at times be a bit of a spazz. Having the ability to grant life to the robotic feline, Reeve has used the feline as a stand in for himself when he himself is unable to physically do things himself for any number of various reasons. Of course observing both the man himself and then the cat-like robot would lead one to wonder just how it is possible for the two to be so different without there possibly being an A.I. involved somehow.

Due to his well earned position as head of Urban Development, Reeve was deeply involved in the development of the city. Since he was the person behind almost all of Midgar, he is understandably concerned things that happen to it, though this is not only material as he has a sincere concern for the people who live within the city itself. This is why he was one of the very few who was upset enough to be against the destruction of the Sector 7 plate and the abandonment of those below it.

The company wasn't the only ones which upset him, he also directed his displeasure at the leader of the rebel faction he ended up dealing with. He understood in a sense WHY they did it, but he highly disapproved of their method of operation. Namely the violence they used and that they were willing to destroy people's lives for what they called the 'good of the planet'.

However despite the man's occasional bouts of resistance, Reeve was just as much a puppet for the company to control, as he controlled Cait Sith, at least until he got rather involved with the rebel crew. It's during that stint as a double agent that the man's conscience and thoughts grow troubled and upset enough that he finally decided to do something to help the people and the world, instead of allowing the company to placate him into non-action again.

Turning his attention to repairing the damage inadvertently done to the planet by the company's practices, Reeve created the World Regenesis Organization as a means to help the world heal, rebuild and to protect it from such devastation happening again. What the man has told no one is that the organization is also Reeve's personal atonement and method of redemption. The man has his own share of guilt in what has happened to the planet due to his creating and overseeing the building of the Reactors.

As for the man's alter-ego/child? Cait Sith is both like and almost completely opposite of Reeve at times. Somehow, despite the fact it is Reeve speaking through Cait, the feline's voice sounds nothing like his creator's, taking on various accents. The feline robot often acts rather carefree and laid-back, and has little problems in being loud and occasionally a bit obnoxious. He's as prone to call to attention bad habits as he is good. In a sense he often acts rather similar to a precocious child.

Cait Sith himself is admittedly no fighter, his small body is built more for reconnaissance work, slipping into places no flesh and blood person could go and get back out of alive with the information desired from the location or the people within it.

Unfortunately, despite this seemingly cheerful and friendly attitude displayed; the feline has shown briefly something of a darker side of the man controlling it. To ensure his continued inclusion within the rebel group, the feline reveals that he has had Barrett's daughter kidnapped from where she had been left to be held hostage despite his regrets of committing such a dirty act.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Intelligent
+ Empathic
+ Considerable Engineering Capability, he's designed an entire city, reactors to power it, and built robotic felines and firearms.
+ Knows his way around computers
+ Capable of breathing life into and controlling nonliving objects via his "Inspire" ability (re: Caith Sith) [Will be Inactive]
+ Friendly and sociable

- Not that great a fighter, though he does know how to use firearms for self-defense.
- Fascination with anything mechanical can land him into trouble at times
- Pacifistic until he believes that fighting is the only viable answer to the situation
- Fortune telling
- Cats

First Person Sample:

[When the video feed comes on, there's a older man on the screen, though at first he seems to be a little distracted by something purring nearby. When he speaks, it doesn't actually seem directed at the video feed.]

At least the people here are kind enough to replace these devices, eh Cait? They even let me keep the first one, so perhaps I'll be able to figure out just what I did wrong in trying to put it back together.

[It's at this point that he seems to notice the video feed is on and recording and turns his attention from the violet feline on his lap to the screen of the gear. There's a bit of curiosity in his gaze at first, he's still curious as to how the device works exactly, but for now that curiosity is put on the back burner in favor of getting answers to other questions he has about this place.]

Hello, is there anyone out there who might answer a few questions of mine? I seem to have found myself in a strange situation with a somewhat equally strange companion.

Third Person Sample:
Reeve left a voicemail for Valeria to contact him when she had a free moment, stating that he had a favor to ask her. Shutting the phone down afterward, he considered the content and destination of the package he would be giving Valeria to deliver. The cat looked nothing like his usual Cait Sith's, but perhaps that was to be expected, considering the differences in the technology he was working with and the limitations he was dealing with here. Moving toward the table, Reeve set about making sure that everything was in working order once more. He wouldn't want Valeria to take this prototype to Goldenrod and find out it wouldn't work afterward.

Hopefully, the test run would go without a hitch. It was strange to build these feline robots and not be able to connect with them in the way he had with Cait back on Gaia. It had been a challenge to learn the new technology this place held. Reeve still remembered with some amusement how he'd wrecked the first PokéGear he'd been given upon trying to discover how it worked.

Hearing his phone ring suddenly, Reeve set the tools he had in hand aside and picked his phone up to answer it. "Reeve here."

Listening to Valeria identify herself and ask if she was still needed, Reeve seated himself in a chair across from the one Cait was seated in. "Yes. I'd like to have something taken up to Goldenrod if you wouldn't mind."

At her agreement to that, he considered the time difference between here and the destination he'd specified. He also considered the distance between where he was and the destination as well. "How soon can I expect to see you?"

The answer to that question gained a quiet chuckle out of the man and the next words were tinged with mirth. "I'll let you get started on that then. See you in an hour." Hanging the phone up, he laid it down and moved back over to finish his work on robotic feline.
