Applications will be normally checked during the weekend following the first and third Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated, and we will allow one application per person during one application cycle. Remember, the most characters one player can have at a time is currently set at five.

Applications received after 11:59 PM EST on Saturday of the first and third weekend of each month will be checked the following app weekend unless otherwise stated.

We now ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!

The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.

(For right now, only those three positions are available, whether your character chooses to follow their assigned path or not.)
Starter: What starter pokémon do you want your character to have? Please use the list linked above to choose from. Certain pokémon have an orange star next to their names; if you choose one of these starters (Deino, Zorua, Litwick, Pikachu, Scyther, Dratini, Bagon, Gible, Axew, Ralts, Riolu, Beldum, Larvitar, Eevee, or Beldum) you must provide reasoning. You do not need to explain your reasoning for pokémon other than those listed above.
Password: This is where you'll put the passwords from the Rules and the F.A.Q. There are two words, to assure you've read both.

Samples
First Person Sample: The sample must take place in Route_29's setting. Eight sentences is the minimum. This is a PokéConnect post--one that will be on the character's journal, broadcast to the network. Although it is short, it needs to show how your character would communicate with others, as well as be descriptive enough to express the character's voice without sounding too generic.

Third Person Sample: The sample must take place in Route_29's setting. The minimum is 300 words. Please note that what we are looking for is an inner working into the character’s thoughts and actions, and how the character responds to the setting, not something that could be taken as an excerpt fanfic. You may use other characters to bounce your characters actions off of, but everything should still be mostly from their point of view.

First Person Sample:
[The video opens up to show one very angry girl in New Bark Town. Some of you might recognize her, but she sure won't know any of you.

She huffs.]

What is this?! [The girl gestures toward her surroundings, the whole town, most likely.] This sure isn't Republic City, South Pole or -- or any other place in my world, probably, I've never even heard of these creatures!

Where's my polar bear dog?! What did you do her!? [She's yelling those words, sorry for your ears. Hiding Naga is a really serious business.] She's supposed to come to me with one whistle, but I've tried so many times, and she's not running to me.

[And while she looks furious about it, she's actually worried and helpless and scared. Her best friend is missing, she's always been everywhere with her.]

And just what did you chiblockers do to my bending?! I can't get anything out, even that little chick there is doing better than me and -- and fire hurts! This is just temporary, right? If I wait for a while, it will come back to me, right? [See those small burns from Ember attack on her arm? Yeah, uh, she's not getting along with her starter.] Fire's not supposed to hurt me! [Sigh. The fact that fire hurts is actually pretty sad in her opinion, but she's keeping her cool here.

Oh okay, she needs to change the topic, because that topic is too difficult to handle right now. She moves a little and points at professor's house.]

Is that professor, or whatever he is, the one who brought us here? [Frown.] He sure sounded like it, what with giving me the things and saying I should start a journey and fill something for him.... Let me tell you, I'm not interested! Yeah, I'm about to tell the same to him too.

[Torchic's voice can be heard. Korra looks down.] What are you looking at? Go find someone else to travel with, I'm not going anywhere. Trainer Korra, yeah right...

[The little fire bird sounds sad. Korra feels bad, but what can she do about that?

She looks back at the screen again, glaring this time. Another huff.] How do I get home? I have things to do, Avatar training to finish, probendig matches to go with our team and I really need to beat someone, who thinks he can do whatever he wants without being man enough to face me.

[She really just said that, huh? The girl looks like she's thinking about something for a moment. You don't need to know that she's not as ready to face him as she says she is.]

So, I really need to get back home as soon as possible, okay? Name's Korra, as you might have heard above.

[She's about to end the feed right there, but suddenly she looks quite curious.]

What happens if a girl kicks the man's door in, demanding to get back to her own world? [She's seriously considering about it.] I don't see the police anywhere, but... Wouldn't be the first time for them to surprise me. [Sheepish grin and she ends the feed here.

-- as soon as she can figure out how to actually switch this damn device off. Enjoy the view of her whole body while she's fighting with the stupid device.]

Third Person Sample:
So, a three versus three battle and she is down to one Pokémon by now? That's what you get when you battle everyday and train the tiniest babies in this area full of different NPCs. Korra glares at their Normal-type opponent. Why couldn't she just have something that's strong against it? Instead she's down to one tired Torchic, who is trying its best to win this battle for Korra.

"Furret, quick attack!"

Oh no, you don't! The Avatar keeps her sharp looking eyes on their opponent and grinds her teeth. Better come up with a plan soon, huh? Good thing she's got personal experience from battles. "Dodge it, Torchic!" The little fire bird runs as fast as it can. "Then use --"

Is that glowing supposed to be some kind of a thing when it runs? It sure hasn't been a thing before. What? Korra looks up as the glow grows higher and once the glow goes away, there's no Torchic but a Combusken standing on the little birds place. Korra looks -- impressed would be an understatement -- amazed. "Wow. What is that?" Korra ask as soon as she can speak from all the amazement and points her pokedex at her new friend.

COMBUSKEN, the young fowl Pokémon! During a battle, the hot flame in its body increases. Its kicks have outstanding destructive power.

"Torchic, you evolved!" Korra looks excited and all too happy about this new turn of events. She could scream of joy, almost, but she's just looking ecstatic right now. "You're a Fire/Fighting type now? That's great!" She really doesn't need more reasons to get all excited, but aren't normal types weak against fighting types? Well, judging by the worried look on their opponent's faces? Yes, they are, and looks like her Combusken knows a fighting type move now too. This just couldn't get any better, could this? A moment ago Korra was worried, now the shit-eating-extremely-arrogant-grin is back on the girl's face.

"Let's do this!" Of course Korra is all fired up now and she looks challenging. "Combusken, double kick, let's go!"

Maybe she should feel bad for the opponent when the Furret is getting its butt kicked so much, but no, Korra doesn't feel bad at all. She's a girl, who fights all the time and attacking her training opponents is very familiar to her. Those two would survive, there were hospitals for these creatures everywhere in this world! No, in fact Korra is just watching there in excitement, proud of her new Pokémon and almost literally kicking the air herself too. "That's the way to go, bird!"

The battle ends quickly when the Furret passes out from the kicks. This time Korra really makes a jump or two from all the excitement. "Yes! Wohoo! We did it!" By using its weakness against it, but hey, that's okay.

"You beat me? That's impossible! How --?!"

What are you on, girl? Korra frowns and looks confused. "Uh, didn't you pay attention at all? My Torchic evolved and became a Combusken and gained a new attack because of its level too and then..." Oh right, these NPCs, they always say the same stuff. She should be used to them by now. Korra shakes her head with an amused smile on her face. "I mean - thanks for the match." She's already walking towards Combusken, almost ready to ignore the girl completely. "See you around, maybe we can take a rematch one day." And that's that.

She'll let the NPC do what they normally do, wait for the next opponent probably, and runs to hug her so called new bird. "You were amazing! Let's go find more opponents, so we can test your new powers even more. ...I think I have a potion somewhere if you need it." She shouldn' let the bird fool herself, too much, it looks strong. But as a Torchic it was so close to fainting against that stronger opponent.

"Hey, do you think we can train together? Just don't hit me too hard, okay?" Korra starts looking displeased, as the memory hits her again. "I'd be fine with anything, if this place hadn't taken my bending away and cut everything else to about half..." She'll never get used to that fact. Nope. She refuses to get used to it, but giving up is not an option. "But I'm sure we can train your hitting and kicking skills! Let's make you even stronger. One evolution down, one to go! I can't wait to see more."
