Applications will be normally checked during the weekend following the first and third Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated, and we will allow one application per person during one application cycle. Remember, the most characters one player can have at a time is currently set at five.

Applications received after 11:59 PM EST on Saturday of the first and third weekend of each month will be checked the following app weekend unless otherwise stated.

We now ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!

The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.

Name: Donna Noble
Series: Doctor Who
Timeline: Just before the episode 'Midnight'

Personality: When the Doctor and Donna first meet, she immediately assumes that he was kidnapping her, although he has no idea how she got into his TARDIS in the first place. Demanding that the Doctor take her back to her wedding and more focused on that, despite the two of them being in space, also being more focused on material things. As the first meeting showed. The second time the Doctor and Donna meet up, Donna calmed down more, having her eyes open to space and seeing the bigger picture more. She was determined to find him again, hoping that he would take her along, being tired of menial life.

Donna has fairly low self esteem, mainly stemming from her mom nagging her for not having a job, and still living at home, often believing that she was 'nobody special', though there were times to disprove this.

Under her fiery temper hid a deep well of compassion, as she showed when she reached out to Agatha Christie, intending to share her own story of failed marriage, and when talking to a young female prophet in Pompeii, and Donna's insistence that the Doctor acknowledge Jenny, who was taken from his DNA, as his daughter, no matter how she was created or what job she was bred to do. While in Pompeii, she showed her stubborn side when she got the Doctor to save just one family out of the 20, 000 families that died that day.

Donna adopting the conscious role for the Doctor, more forcefully then the previous companions did. Her relationship with the Doctor was purely a friendship style of partnership, Donna often getting angry when other people interpreted their relationship.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths:
+ Compassionate: She finds it fairly easy to sympathize with other people
+ Cleverness: Shown with learning the dewey decimal system for starters in two days flat, though it could be seen as a conditional thing.
+ Stubborn: Will keep trying to get something she knows is right.
+ Bravery: Running around time and space will do that to you.

Weaknesses:
- Low self esteem: From her mom's expectations and nagging on her
- Priorities can be off
- Loud
- Fiery temper: Especially evident when she first joins the Doctor, though she cools down, she can still be easily angered and not afraid to show it.

First Person Sample:[The video fizzes on to reveal a very displeased looking woman, looking for answers and not going to rest until she gets some answers.]

Not funny spaceman. I said 'no' to any sort of adventures while at the spa, and now that I'm here at the so called 'Sapphire Waterfalls' I don't even see any sort of waterfalls anywhere.

[She gave another huff at the screen. Not completely done her little rant.]

If you are hearing this, spaceman, I'm going to tell you this once. Get me the hell out of here. NOW!

Third Person Sample:Donna, in short, was furious. She had every right to be, since she woke up in a strange room in a strange house with a strange woman coming into her room.

”Wake up, sweetheart.” Came a voice from outside the room, along with a light knock.

Donna’s eyes opened as she instantly shot up in the bed looking around the room, panicking. The door opened to reveal a very young looking woman. Glaring, Donna pointed a finger accusingly.

“You…. Who the hell are you and where the hell am I?” She growled

Shock came over the young woman’s face. “Young lady, that’s not proper language.”

“I don’t fucking care!” Donna snarled, getting out of the bed. “You’re sending me home, now!”

“You will change your tone towards your mother, or you’re going to be in big trouble! Now go and see Professor Elm, he’s waiting for you. ” Said the young woman, trying to keep herself from blowing up at an already furious Donna.

“I DON’T CARE! GET ME THE BLOODY HELL HOME!”

“Out you go! Off on your Pokémon journey at last!” Now ignoring Donna’s shouting as she rushed the angry redhead out the door, pushing a bag into her hands and shutting the door.

It only took a few seconds of silence before Donna started pounding on the door screaming more profanities and demanding to be let in, passers-bys staring at her as they passed, most of them hurrying their pace as they did. Giving a huge, overdone huff, Donna gave up hitting the door and stormed off. Didn't the strange lady tell her to go see someone called ‘Professor Elm’ or someone? It sounded like a good place to start more than anything.

An old man passing by with a strange looking red dog the opposite direction, as children ran past, the old man calling to them not to be so fast in a friendly way. It was a sweet small town, in all honesty. Finding a sign saying ‘New Bark Town Lab’, Donna entered. A friendly man in a lab coat greeted her with a big goofy grin and handing over a red and white ball, saying to open it by pressing the button in the middle of it. Once doing so, a small red and brown fox appeared in front of the two of them.

“Vulpix!” It said, shyly looking around.

“Aren’t you a little cutie.” Donna said, bending down so the Vulpix could sniff her.

“Yup! And she’ll be your partner for your journey!” Professor Elm told her, as she stood up carrying the small fox.

“Well, I guess I’ll be off.” Donna replied. “Thanks.”

Unfortunately, we can’t accept your application at this time. The personality is short and relies too heavily on history – using history to further the analysis of the character’s personality is fine, but shouldn’t take up the majority of the section. In addition, while a few traits are touched upon they are never elaborated on, making it difficult to get an all-around understanding of who Donna is. The third person sample, in turn, doesn’t appear to be in-character and should be less descriptive of events and focus more on her internal narration, and the first person sample doesn’t appear to be set in Route’s setting. Feel free to reapply as many times as you’d like.
