Applications will be normally checked during the weekend following the first and third Sunday of each month unless otherwise stated, and we will allow one application per person during one application cycle. Remember, the most characters one player can have at a time is currently set at five.

Applications received after 11:59 PM EST on Saturday of the first and third weekend of each month will be checked the following app weekend unless otherwise stated.

We now ask that potential applicants post their application in comments rather than linking. If their application contains explicit references to 'hard' spoilers (character death, unforeseen plot twists, big reveals, he was evil all along etc), players should put the application in their own journal or their character's journal and link it, making sure to mention the presence of spoilers within. For further clarification on our spoilers policy and whether or not your application needs to be linked, please check this page. Thank you for your cooperation!

The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.

First Person Sample: The sample must take place in Route_29's setting. Eight sentences is the minimum. This is a PokéConnect post--one that will be on the character's journal, broadcast to the network. Although it is short, it needs to show how your character would communicate with others, as well as be descriptive enough to express the character's voice without sounding too generic.

Third Person Sample: The sample must take place in Route_29's setting. The minimum is 300 words. Please note that what we are looking for is an inner working into the character’s thoughts and actions, and how the character responds to the setting, not something that could be taken as an excerpt fanfic. You may use other characters to bounce your characters actions off of, but everything should still be mostly from their point of view.

Name: Yui Hirasawa

Timeline: End of episode 12 ("Summer Festival!") of the second season.

Personality:
Yui is a childish girl with an overactive imagination. She is partially fearless, in the sense that she does not usually feel anxiety, and never gets stage fright (though she was a bit nervous her first time). This is mainly demonstrated during the Light Music Club's first ever performance, which took place at the new student welcoming concert. There, she shows that she can easily handle emceeing. She's a very touchy-feely type of person, too, making lots of physical contact such as holding hands or hugging. She can also do just about anything if she applies herself, but her attention is wavering, and she tends to concentrate on the wrong things. An example of this was in Episode 3, where she failed Midterms due to focusing on learning guitar chords rather than studying. So, she basically has a short-attention span, forgetting what she was doing if something else catches her interest. And something else almost always catches her interest.

Yui has a great fondness for sweets (sweet things, too) and cute things. Carefree, outgoing, and kind of ditzy or just plain silly, too. She has a lot of energy that she tends not to use, since she's extremely lazy, and when she's alone she tends to...laze around. To add onto this, she can do exercise, but she hates getting tired, which defeats the point of it. However, if there's something she wants to do with all her heart, something she has a passion for, such as music, she'll do it. In that way, she has a great determination and perseverance.

Strengths: She's got perfect pitch, can play guitar, doesn't gain weight despite being very lazy, has an easy time emceeing, bounces back from sadness very quickly, nicknames are her specialty, and she's bit shameless.

Weaknesses: studying, extreme temperatures, air conditioning which she is allegedly "allergic" to, one-track mind, grades that are always on the verge of failing (there are even times when she's the only one in her class who has to retake them!), short attention-span, and dislikes getting tired.

I can't wait to show you to Mio and Ritsu and Mugi and Azunyan- oh, that's right! ( she faces the camera and yes, it has been on the whole time. she'd totally forgotten her original intentions when igglybuff had started singing! and then this all happened, and... back to the point. )

Ui! Mio, Ritsu, Mugi, Azunyan! ( each name, no referring to them as 'the band and her sister', because her friends and family are all equally important. ) If you guys are out there...

Third Person Sample:
"You gotta check this out!" Yui's practically shouting at the camera that's propped up on a windowsill in front of 'her house'. Which, isn't really her house at all. She doesn't know whose house it is, but the person inside it claimed to be her mother. They weren't, but she didn't have enough time to tell her before she was thrown out and into the world. Anyway, she sounds really excited and happy!

Hirasawa holds up the Pokémon, making sure her Igglybuff is real close to the camera. "You heard all that singing, right?! It was SUPER cute! We should make Bubblegum" and yes, that IS the name of her Igglybuff, "an official member of the band!" ...Oh, wait, more important matters. She sets Igglybuff back on her head, steps away, and fiddles her fingers. "...Oh, and, uhm..." She hesitates. How was she supposed to ask this? Where was she? She very well knew that at this point- she was in a region called Johto, and she was a trainer. She had to collect some really cool badges and become the master of Pokémon or something. She also had to collect more Pokémon on the way- so they were like action figures, she supposes? No, they were more like pets. Did this mean she was a poacher?! Her mind wanders (even farther than it already was) to fantasies of her with a gun, firing at cute, innocent animals.

"Oh nonononono, I can't do it!!" She's practically in hysterics, tears running down her face as she shakes her hand back and forth. It's almost comical. "I can't hurt innocent animals- they're too cute!" Not that she could hurt them if they weren't cute, that is. She'd be too scared. "Plus, Bubblegum is my friend! " As she freaks out some more over the situation, no one pays her mind. It takes her some time to notice this, since she has to calm down and all, and she finds it weird. "...Why would people ignore someone crying in the middle of nowhere?" She wonders aloud, looking around. She wasn't even getting any odd looks!

-- Wait, crud. "I forgot to turn the camera off!"

Igglybuff shares the same shocked expression as Yui. Aw.

Scrambling to get a hold of the 'gear, now. "How do I turn this thing off again...?" Clicking some buttons, switching to voice only on accident, cries of 'woops!', and more button clicking until the feed finally cuts off.

Before we make our final decision on your application, we would like a revised personality section and strengths/weaknesses section. The personality reads more like a collection of traits than a coherent personality and seems short and fairly lacking; we would like to see more of a description on what the character’s goals and motivations are as well as how she interacts with other people. As for strengths and weaknesses, we’d like to see them elaborated on in regards to how they might help and hinder her in the setting. You will have one week to complete these requests before the character is available again.
