The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.
Please use the form below and post your application in comments rather than linking if you can. If you have any questions, feel free to ask either of the mods. You can reach us through emails, IMs, or PMs.
A reminder for those waiting to hear back, please don't be worried if we skip yours while going through them. It only means we needed a little more time to research!

Dist the Rose | Tales of the Abyss
Affiliation: Team Rocket
Starter: Budew. Although Budews aren't usually open for Rockets to start with, I truly feel that Budew is the perfect fit for Dist's starter. Dist's motif in the game is roses. His preferred title is Dist the Rose, and he constantly refers to himself as a rose. It would be very fitting for him to end up with a Roselia, or even a Roserade down the line.

Samples
First Person Sample:
[The feed begins with a close-up of Dist's face. He's looking extremely smug today. Or maybe that's supposed to be his accomplished expression. A wide grin spreads across his purple lips.]
Denizens of Johto, the elegant Dist the Rose has created his finest piece of work yet! It is so magnificent, I just couldn't go without displaying it for all to see.
[He backs away from the screen, revealing...
A chair. To be specific, it's a large brown Victorian style chair with plush purple cushioning. But that isn't even the most jarring part about it. It's floating. Attached to the bottom of the chair, in the areas between the chair's legs, are several Magnemites. Dist then walks around the chair to reveal the back, where a Magnezone is seemingly melded to the back.]
Isn't it wonderful? I've even tested it myself, and it works like a dream. The Magnemites are programmed to move with a simple program command. It's not as practical as my chair at home in Auldrant, but it sure beats walking everywhere. I just couldn't get used to it again!
[He then hands the 'Gear off to an off-screen Pokemon, and the feed continues as he gets into the chair to show its ability to actually hold weight. He neatly crosses his legs and leans against one of the arm rests.]
Go on, tell me all about how absolutely jealous you are. I eagerly await your responses.
Third Person Sample:
The last thing Dist remembered was nothing but hazy skies, and them boom. He truly thought that was the end, and that he would finally be reunited with Professor Nebilim.
He did not expect to awaken in a dark room with a black uniform, a strange red and white capsule, and a note beside him.
Immediately upon waking up, he frantically looked around the room, and then down to his body. He even felt it to make sure this was real. No injuries, and not even a tear in his suit... How could that be possible? He had exploded with his robot back at the Tower of Rem. And where was he? Even if he had somehow survived that explosion, how did he end up in this room? Did someone find him? So many questions, and no answers...
But wait, that note. He had made note of it when he did an initial scan of the room, but he was more concerned with his lack of injuries at the time. He quickly turned to the table beside his bed and and grabbed for the note.
"Welcome, new Team Rocket member..." He read the note in its entirety out loud. He sneered when he was finished. "Team Rocket? What in the world is Team Rocket? Some upstart organization?" Well he had never heard of them, and that alone didn't generate any positive feelings from him. And that ugly uniform certainly wasn't winning any points either. But at the moment, this "Team Rocket" was the only source of possible answers, so he would just have to play along. He was always good at playing along anyway.
His eyes wandered back to the round capsule. And what was this? He set the note aside and picked the capsule up. To his surprise, when he touched the circle in the center, it expanded. But that wasn't the end of the surprises. After fiddling with it some more, it opened and a white light flashed out in front of him, revealing a cute little bud of a creature. The two stared at each other for a good few moments, before the creature happily chirped at its new master, "Dew! Budew!"
A small smile spread across Dist's lips. "Well I'll be damned, they're monster tamers." And the best part was, out of all the monsters in Auldrant, he had never seen such a creature. At least this "Team Rocket" proved to have an interesting taste in rare creatures.
Little did he know that there would be much more interesting creatures to examine in the near future.
