The comment character limit on dreamwidth is 16,000 characters so apps no longer need to be split into multiple comments; however this is at players' discretion.
Please use the form below and post your application in comments rather than linking if you can. If you have any questions, feel free to ask either of the mods. You can reach us through emails, IMs, or PMs.
A reminder for those waiting to hear back, please don't be worried if we skip yours while going through them. It only means we needed a little more time to research!

Jyou Kido | Digimon | Not Reserved 2/3?
At first glance, Jyou is a complainer. A whiner. Always going on about how his pants are riding up, or his shoes not offering the right kind of arch support for five hundred miles of walking, or about how his allergies and hay fever are acting up, especially in reaction to physical labor or things that frighten him. He's just that kind of guy. And that's not the end of it either, he's Number One at nagging on the team, known to scold and rag on the others if he think they are being too reckless. Being a worrywart is his default setting, and something he'll probably never grow out of. But it's not that he's trying to intentionally nag others into the ground, it's his overactive concern and need to protect them that brings out his worrying to such a high point. During the first Arc, the group of seven find several refrigerators with eggs, of which everyone (except Jyou) decides to eat immediately. He doesn't trust the food, and says to himself, "we'd be in real trouble if someone got sick. Why am I the only one to think of these things?" The eggs turn out to be fine and don't make anyone sick in the end, but his concern is in the right place. The same can be said for how suspicious he is of nearly every individual they meet outside of their team. Nearly every time the trust of a foreign Digimon is required, you can count on Jyou to chime in with a "can we trust this guy?" Not that one can blame him, more than half of the Digimon they meet who try to garter trust from the DigiDestined wind up stabbing them in the back.
Despite his tendency to overreact, typically in a loud and panicked manner, Jyou is more likely to be classified as an introvert. He doesn't like adventure, (or at least says he doesn't), he doesn't like fighting, sports are not fun to him, etc, etc. He'd rather sit at home and read a book or do homework, that is his idea of fun. No, really. One of the top things he says he misses when trapped in the digital world is doing homework. He tried to get his parents to send him to summer school instead of summer camp. To say the least, Jyou is a weird kid. But even for his introverted demeanor, he won't let it keep him from throwing himself into the middle of a fight, be it physical or just an argument between friends (most commonly Taichi and Yamato). Often times he (as well as Sora, for that matter) try to mediate between their group in an attempt to keep everyone calm and level. Not that he's exactly successful all the time, but he tries. As for throwing himself into a fight of the physical manner, if his friends are in trouble, particularly Takeru, he will, quite literally, throw himself at the enemy. The first example of this is when Unimon is infected with a black gear, and flying around causing destruction, Jyou's idea of solving the problem… is literally jumping off a cliff to try and land on a flying horse's back and pull out the gear. Which really, is one of the dumbest ideas he's ever had, right next to "jumping off a roof to once again tackle some enemy that could kill him in seconds, only to wind up nearly being choked to death", and then third place goes to "dive into water in an attempt to rescue Takeru. but forget he can't swim." All very brave decisions, yes, but also very stupid.
In contrast to what one would expect of an introverted, anxiety-ridden, overprotective kid, he's also very sarcastic. He's no stranger to making fun of his friends (in a non-malevolent manner, of course), nor name-calling, particularly of strange looking Digimon. It's mostly in defense, in order to try and make the Digital World seem less weird and frightening than it is. He'll admit that the Digiworld scares him more frankly than most. While his crest, the Crest of Reliability (in english) can also translate to meaning Faith or Honesty, Jyou is pretty ace in all three.
He knows very well he's the butt end of most jokes, his clumsiness and overreactions to things make him an easy target. Even with the character development he goes through throughout the series, he still struggles with his place in the team, and in life. He says to himself, "I'm a doormat. Good for a laugh. A joke. Yeah, good old Jyou. You can always rely on him to fall into the mud or off a cliff." Not exactly the confident words of one of the heroic DigiDestined. The problem is, for Jyou, it's easy to have faith in his friends, because they always seem to know what they're doing, they're confident. He still struggles with having faith in himself.
