Personality:
Because he was constantly sensing the presence of the Corrupted, Rick grew up a shy and rather introverted young man. He never had many friends, though, he preferred to be on his own. Though he was rather quiet, he did do well in school and is a rather smart individual, good at recognizing problems or puzzles and solving them. Both he and his girlfriend are into heavy metal music, and they both often wear band t-shirts and wristbands.
Rick didn’t meet his girlfriend, Jennifer, until he went to college. But, when he did, it was love at first sight. Over the next few years, she brought him out of his shell, and he became more social and opinionated. Though many people remarked that she was too good for him, he didn’t care. Jen is Rick’s entire world. He would do anything for her or to protect her, even sell his soul to a demonic mask. He wants to propose and spend the rest of his life with her.
Rick is determined. When Jennifer is kidnapped by Dr. West, he pursues the insane man through a mansion of horrors, and several alternate realities, never giving up, even though he suffers potentially fatal damage. Thanks to the Terror Mask, he is able to recover, though that process hurts as well. Despite all the pain, and all of the things he has to kill, Rick’s mind never leaves the thought of saving Jenny.
The Terror Mask gave Rick incredible power. At first, he was disgusted, and even frightened by what his beefed up body was capable of. However, because he had to keep killing the monsters, lest both Jennifer and himself would die, he grew used to it quickly, and, at the end even began to enjoy the carnage he was causing. Without a constant stream of kill or be killed situations, one could expect he would mostly return to his normal state of mind, though, part of him would yearn for that destruction.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Without the Terror Mask, Rick is a normal human being. He’s rather scrawny, and can’t put up much of any kind of fight, though he’d try. He is rather smart though, and could probably figure out most puzzles or form a strategy with relative ease.
He has great focus, but, it’s rather tunnel vision like, as, he will block out things going on around him. Only his goal will matter. In the case of the canon it would be how easily he got used to tearing things apart, all he was focused on was getting to and saving Jennifer.
He doesn’t have the best alcohol tolerance, nor the best control of himself while drunk, as he had a one night stand with someone other than Jennifer at a party where there was heavy drinking. He also has a bit of a guilt complex, and blames himself for bad occurrences, such as Jennifer getting kidnapped, or the affair. Rick also has a bit of a temper, and, if teased enough, will snap and go off on a tangent on whomever was teasing him.

First Person Sample:
All right, the fuck is it this time? I mean, I knew it was over....Jen was safe!
[He begins to shout:] Hey! Jen! Jennifer!!!! Where the hell are you!!!
Don’t tell me...we got separated again?! What the fuck! I’ve been through enough of those fucking portals, there wasn’t anything like that! The mask is gone...I’m back to normal, so where the hell am I, and where the fuck is Jennifer!?
Look, I appreciate that there isn’t a bunch of mutated corpses trying to kill me right now, and that mask isn’t bitching in my head. But all I really want is to get my girl, and go the fuck home. I’ve had enough bullshit for one night!
Third Person Sample:
The air was pretty cold, no doubt about that. But, after running around God knows where all night with barely enough pants to cover himself, Rick didn’t mind it that much. The sun was popping out between some gray clouds, and a brisk breeze was blowing. The place where he’d woken up definitely had nothing to do with West Mansion or any of the portal dimensions he’d been to. There weren’t any kind of monsters running at him to tear into his body, nor was the Terror Mask cackling some taunt at him. In fact, the mask was just plain gone.
The first thing that crossed Rick’s mind wasn’t his body being back to normal, the strange woman who’d just shoved him out the door of the house to his back, or even the little town he was now in.
“JEEEEN!!! JENNIFERRRRRRRRR!!!!!” he shouted at the top of his lungs. If it truly was over, then she’d be with him. He’d saved her, hadn’t he? He’d incapacitated West, killed the Corrupted, and sent the whole mess back to the underworld where it belonged. There was no answer. A few people opened windows and peered out, to see the source of the shouting, and quickly closed them again.
Rick was beginning to panic. Where was Jennifer? Surely she wasn’t back at the altar, where he had last remembered being. There was no way. The eclipse had ended, there was nothing more that could have taken or hurt her in any way, could there? Endless “what ifs?” ran through Rick’s head. He had to find Jen. She’d be nearby, definitely. They were just hugging! He’d find her, Rick vowed to himself. He would find her, and, once he was sure she was safe and all right, then, and only then, they would go home, and he would ask her to be with him for the rest of their days.
