Character Name: Kagura Series: Inuyasha Timeline: Middle of the battle at Mt. Hakurei. Canon Resource Links: Up to episode 118. Personality: > Kagura, in battle, can be seen as heartless and cruel, often going the extra mile to beat someone up instead of just giving them a swift death. She takes particular delight in taunting her enemies, often playful and condescending, as she often comments that this fight will be their “last dance”. She depends heavily on the information she knows about her enemy to fight well, but will never let them know that. She can, however, get caught up in something such as 'winning' a battle while it's being fought, often causing her to slip out important details that cause her to lose the fight. She also doesn't take into account that there may be flaws in a plot or plan she concocts to defeat her enemy, often her downfall in many situations. She also seems to believe that all the information she gathers about her enemy must be all they can do, and no more, such as not even thinking that Inuyasha might be stronger than Naraku had mentioned. She does not count on their personality, or their perseverance, to help them win a battle. She seems to only believe that skill or strength is the only thing allowing one to win a fight.
Outside of battle, it can be said that she keeps her taunting ways. She is coy with her words, choosing them carefully in order to invoke the response she wants and sometimes needs. She is not one to divulge in a situation without having some sort of upper hand--while confrontational, she has no need to be caught unprepared for a situation, and hates being caught off guard. Unfortunately, she still has emotions, and they get in the way sometimes, especially with someone like Naraku. With pretty much anyone, she can have a hair-trigger temper, causing her to slip into an emotional thought process of anger and rage instead of thinking things through, which often gets her into deep trouble or gets her to give out information she had no intention of giving out. Often times, this trigger is caused by her need for freedom, or making a connection to her being Naraku's servant, as she has a deep loathing for him. She is the thoughtful type, though, if given enough time to think. One of her pastimes is planning out ways to get out of the situation she is currently in. She likes to analyze others, but she does not analyze them much past what would be useful or pertinent to her, like how she analyzes Inuyasha’s strength in a fight, but not how he talks to Kagome, or fights with Koga. She is rather adept at reading a situation quickly, as it is how she survives, since she lives with her greatest enemy, Naraku, who with one word could kill her. Her thoughtfulness and ability to know what to do and when to do it has helped her survive over the years.
Strengths/Weaknesses:I did a lot of this in her personality section (whoops), but she’s a good sleuth—she’s able to understand one thing leads to another without it being stated or shown. She’s at least half-decent at understanding people—insofar as it applies to her, nothing that doesn’t. She also knows when to do something and when to stay silent, being good at reading situations and all that. Her weaknesses are that she has a hard time playing nice—she can, but with very few amounts of people. She, from her canon point, has a certain lack of empathy, too, unless they are in her shoes. And, finally: she underestimates people often.

Samples First Person Sample: [Kagura’s voice is slightly nasal, almost croaky, and it certainly sounds awfully annoyed at the moment. She’s got no clue where she is, Naraku’s bees are no where to be found, and everything is foreign. The wind demon would’ve thought it was a dream if she hadn’t got pecked in the head by the Hoothoot that was following her around. It wasn’t helpful that she’d lost her ability to fly, either. Something is very wrong here, and someone on the communicator better tell her right now, or else lose their head. As soon as she got her powers back.] What the hell is going on? God damnit, Naraku, what kind of game are you playing? And someone get this bird off of me!
Third Person Sample: The night growing old as a breeze blew through the forest, Kagura sitting in a branch of a tree near town. While the man that escorted her here was in town and staying there for the night. She wasn’t comfortable with all this new technology; she’d only been here a day, and it was a long and boring one at that. Her Hoothoot was up on a taller branch, making noise at the moon high in the sky. She closed her eyes, laying her head against the tree. She didn’t want to trust anything that was suggesting this happening, of course. The fact that this wasn’t some kind of illusion wasn’t setting in just right. How could a world like this truly exist? But, that wasn’t what was keeping her up. It wasn’t like she could take a vacation from those thoughts simply because she was possibly away from Naraku. He’d done things like this before, trick her and make her believe that she was safe, and she was not going to have that happen again. But the question was how he’d caused this to happen. He didn’t have the powers to do this, change a whole world. He could change vast landscapes, though….she would have to keep herself on guard for now, and pretend that she was still loyal to his cause, and that she was at least worried. The sudden rustling had Kagura whipping her head to the side, near the path that had been made to the next town. It seemed strange that weren’t using a form of light, and they weren’t waiting in another town or somewhere farther down. Then again, if they really wanted the comforts of a nice warm bed, they would have to travel to this place, wouldn’t they? Either way, Kagura was not going to let them get the best of her in a world that didn’t make sense. Although her powers were gone, she hopped down from the branch, and her Hoothoot behind her, as she got in a defensive stance. “Show yourself.”
