More on the Character
*For some reason, I can almost never access the hetalia.wikinet.org website, which is why I included another link about the character just in case the mods can't get into the website either.

Personality:

Yao usually has a cheerful air around him, but when he talks about how much the world has changed he slips into depression. Thinking about his family, or how he used to get along with certain foreign nations, also makes him feel nostalgic. Despite all the modernization China has gone through in recent years, he still can’t get his thoughts out of the past completely, but that’s just the way he is. He still prefers to live out in the country rather than in the city and he is sad to see how the traditional ways are being replaced by new ideals as industrialization continues to expand. Yet despite his longing for the past ways, China knows that he must move on with time if his country and people are to survive, that he must not let his emotions get in the way of his survival. Of course, one can only keep those emotions bottled up for so long, meaning even China has those times where he can’t hold it in anymore and lets his true emotions show, whether those emotions be anger, sadness, or a combination.

On a brighter note, among the things Yao likes are nature, cute things such as Hello Kitty, music, martial arts, good food, and tea. As for his dislikes, he doesn’t enjoy high prices, being called an old man, having people invade his personal space, or being overworked. Yao does not like to spend too much money period, unless he can make a lot of profit from what he's buying or if it's for a special occasion (i.e. birthday, holiday). No matter how many times people call him an old man, Yao will always tell them that they are rude and that he is perfectly young and cool. When people flirt with him, or say a sexual remark, or do something outrageous, he becomes flustered quite easily since he was raised in a strict, conservative environment and it has been ingrained into his brain to always act and speak properly. Then should he believe that he is being overworked, he is likely to revolt and his strength rises significantly to the point where he can easily breakdown a wall with his bear fists, or even his forehead (as seen in Hetalia World Series Episode 28). He’s still not as strong as America, but he’s definitely stronger than an average human. However, as long as he doesn’t lose his temper, Yao can be a good, loyal friend if people let him in. He doesn’t mind playing the older brother figure for others either, in fact, he enjoys it because it makes him feel that he can still be an older brother to some people. Though China talks the talk often, he can usually walk the walk as well. Having grown up around many Chinese philosophers and warriors, China is a well-educated person both as a scholar and as a soldier. Scholar-wise, he knows all there is about his culture and history, but when it comes to other Nations’, that’s when he can get mixed up and vulnerable to misunderstandings. Soldier-wise, he knows many forms of Chinese martial arts and his skills are that of an expert’s; he can use any weapon from the twin hook swords to his own bare fists. He does not always use martial arts for fighting, however, he also uses it to benefit his health and to help him relax (tai chi, for example). Returning to the subject of China’s soldier side, not only is he skilled in his martial arts but with the art of war as well. He’s had over five thousand years of experience and now that he’s open to modernization, he can handle firearms and control an aircraft or a ship better than he could before.

Let it be known, however, that Yao’s cheerful side is only one side of the same coin. Like any other nation, he has his dark side and a look at his history proves so. He is not like Russia, though, for he is able to keep his darker side in check most of the time. On the other hand, he tends to hold grudges. One good example is that he still hasn’t forgiven England for what happened during the Opium Wars and even changes his “aru” to “ahen,” which means opium, when speaking to England. To put it bluntly, receiving his forgiveness and regaining his trust will not be easy if you have wronged him. Also, being the eldest brother as well as the longest-living nation, Yao has much pride, too much pride. It often keeps him from showing his true feelings, or saying what he actually wants to say, especially when it comes to family. It also makes him unwilling to talk about certain problems with friends, for he fears that doing such things is a sign of weakness. He has to be really close with someone before he opens his heart to them, because after being betrayed countless times by people he once believed to be friends, it has made him put barriers around his heart.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

Strengths
Wisdom: Having lived for over five thousand years, China’s seen and learned much. He has studied various subjects since he was very young and has come into contact with pretty much every country and every culture in the world thanks to his trading business. His wisdom ranges from mathematics, to history, to medicine, or even to alchemy. If people ask, he will be willing to give some advice to them.

Fighter: China’s had all the time in the world to perfect his martial arts and he has been a soldier for most of his life, meaning he is good with certain weapons, both traditional and modernized. He can also take a lot of pain before he even thinks about giving up.

Endurance/Survival: Come on… Look at how long China’s been around and it sure wasn’t easy getting this far. As his history has shown, he has seen bloodshed as early as his childhood, he’s been betrayed by friends and family, and he’s fallen countless times only to get back up. Though it took him awhile to stand back up sometimes, he has always accomplished it in the end.

Responsibility: He’s definitely aware of the size of his role as the personification of China, which is why he’s always trying to better and improve himself. Also, having raised all his younger siblings, he knows how to deal with children, making him a caring, big-brother figure. In fact, he's got a soft spot for kids, especially if they are very young.

Cooking: China’s a great chef when it comes to Chinese food! What more is there to say? He makes sure to add plenty of spices to make every bite full of flavor. He can also make beautiful, delicious desserts. He’s sure to delight people and Pokemon alike!

Weaknesses
Backaches: China’s old age makes him prone to sudden backaches, which can be a real problem if they’re bad enough since it’ll seriously hinder his progress in getting things done. It may even immobilize him for a bit.

Pride: As mentioned before, Yao has too much pride for his own good. He will pretend that everything is alright if friends or family ask him what is wrong and he will turn away help if he believes that by doing so he is being weak. His pride can also hinder him in putting certain events in the past, which attributes to his bad habit of holding grudges.

Tendency to Nag: Yao is also known to nag often if he believes someone is not doing their task correctly, or if they are being lazy, and plenty of other trivial reasons. He’s also oblivious to the fact that all his complaining annoys others.

Stubborn: This is both a strength and a weakness. It’s a strength because Yao’s stubborn attitude fuels his desire to keep fighting until the very end. However, Yao’s stubbornness is also a weakness because there are times where he does not know when to quit, which puts him and others in harm’s way more dangerously.

Pokémon Information
Affiliation: Trainer
Starter: Zorua.

China also has many legends of fox spirits called “huli jing,” which literally means “fox spirit.” In Chinese mythology there are good and bad fox spirits, with the most infamous, evil, fox spirit being Daji, whose story can be found here. Yao is described as being very superstitious in canon, so he does believe in these sort of things. He would be both fearful and fascinated by the Zorua, fearful because he will think the Zorua truly is a fox spirit, fascinated because of its powers and the fact he is seeing something similar to the creatures in his mythology. Finally, with a Zorua, China will have many horrible troubling (but hilarious) situations with the Pokemon, especially when it takes his form.

(Also, I want to ask if it would be possible for Yao to have a female Zorua. I know that female Zoruas are rare since I looked it up on Bulbapedia, but the reason I ask that it’s female is because the fox spirits in Chinese mythology are usually female and like to take the form of beautiful, young women.)

Aiyaa… So this place has called me back?

[A familiar face appears on the network, looking rather curious. China rubs at one of his temples.]

How long has it been since I left this place? Also, who is here and what have I missed? Hello?

[As he’s talking, someone who… looks exactly like him walks up behind him and lays his head on his shoulder, causing China to jump and drop the PokeGear.] Wh-Wh-Wha…?!

[Though the gear is on the ground, it’s at an angle where it can still record the two figures. China swiftly faces the intruder, only to go silent for a moment before his shock turns into anger. He puts a hand on his hip.]

Daji! I told you to never take my form again, aru! [He wags a finger at the China doppelganger, who only smirks in return. Notice the fluffy purple tail it is sporting, which China pulls on.] Enough of this!

[Instantly the doppelganger transforms into a ball of pink light and then a Zorua. China puts both hands on his hips this time as he looms over the fox-like Pokemon.]

No more of this, I mean it!

[But Daji the Zorua only snickers.]

Third Person Sample:

Yao thought it rather funny that he was back in Johto again. How long had it been since he left anyway? Because as he recalled, a year could pass in a different world but only a week would go by in Johto. It was just like the very first time he awoke in this place. One night he was at home going through his daily routine, but then the next morning he awoke to find “Mother” standing over the bed that wasn’t really his, urging him to get up, and then pushing him out of the house with his new belongings. Now, he was walking along the path of Route 29, with his new Pokemon walking beside him. A fox-like Pokemon called Zorua, whom he named Daji, after the woman who was possessed by a malevolent fox spirit.

Yao was saddened by the fact that he no longer had his former team with him now, but this new Pokemon was an interesting one. The way the Pokédex described it made the creature sound like a huli jing. As they continued to walk, Yao turned his head and looked down at the Zorua. Did it really have such power? Though he had not seen it do anything yet, he was already wary of the Pokemon. She was cute and not all the huli jing in Chinese mythology were evil, but most of them were, and he wondered if this Zorua was just another part of the bad apple bunch.

Daji noticed the way Yao was looking at her, so she stopped walking and returned the stare. Seeing her stop, Yao also stopped walking, but took one step away from Daji to keep some distance from her. Daji tilted her head to the side before a mischievous expression made its way onto her face, causing Yao to lift an eyebrow. He gasps when the Zorua jumps into the air, becoming a pink ball of light and before Yao realized, he was staring at his own face. Once he regains his composure, he gets closer to the now-transformed Daji and walks around her. Just when he thought it was a perfect transformation, he spots that she still had her tail, causing a chuckle to escape from his lips.

“Impressive, Daji.” he pats the doppelganger’s shoulder with a smile on his face.

However, the moment was short-lived for Daji soon leaned closer to Yao and licked his cheek. There sure isn’t a more awkward moment then getting your cheek licked by yourself, or rather, a Pokemon who has taken your form. Yao lets out a surprised yelp and his blush could rival one of Spain’s tomatoes. He pulls on Daji’s tail, causing her to return to her own form, and wipes his cheek with the sleeve of his shirt as he glares daggers at the Zorua.

“D-D-Daji, how could you do something like that, aru?!” But the only response he gets is a snicker.

Yao wags a finger at the Pokemon. “From now on, I forbid you to take my form! Do you understand what I am saying, Daji?”

The Zorua pouts before she holds her head up high and begins to walk down the road again. Yao walks behind her mumbling, “I should have expected such a thing from a huli jing…”

Character
Name: Nisei Akame
Series: Loveless
Timeline: Just before battling Moonless
Canon Resource Links: Wikipedia link, Scans online. Extra information can be provided if necessary.

Personality: To the uninvolved or the average person, Nisei presents himself as a fairly friendly and helpful guy. He's very good at acting as the normal observer or just another face in the crowd. But it doesn't take an awful lot to see that he's not normal in the least, because his mean streak is always present to see. When he's being subtle, his words often are meant to backhandedly insult or provoke someone to elicit a negative reaction, which for him is ideally grief. Even when he's working cooperatively with others, he annoys others, picking at their insecurities and being subtly abrasive with them. It only adds insult to injury when he seems so calm and happy with himself, and makes things all the more enjoyable. He's a habitual liar, though he is typically quite subtle about it, and uses misdirection to keep the heat off of himself. Though he shows great concern for protecting his own well-being, he holds little to no empathy for the suffering of another. He cares only for himself, and is extremely preoccupied with his own wants and needs in most if not all situations, even when following orders. He is cowardly, and quick to want to flee from a dangerous or losing situation and to seek out the winning position instead.

When he targets someone, more of his ill behavior shows. He is extremely manipulative, using delusions and trickery to turn family and friends against someone, or coercing them to do as he wants them to do. He relishes in making people suffer, going to great lengths to see any form of misery be it physical or mental. He loves seeing people emotionally crumble especially, and volleys psychological assaults to someone to get them to break down into despair. Of his own volition he is a mere bully. When he follows orders from his Sacrifice, Seimei, he is extremely dangerous. It has been implied and accused that under Seimei's direct orders that Nisei has murdered and even raped some people, all without question. It is shown that he will spy on Seimei's order, wire tapping the home of Seimei's family as well as encouraging Seimei's mother to beat and assault her other son, Ritsuka.

He acts as the perfect pawn, especially to Seimei, following orders without question and even making light of the terrible tasks given to him. He does not have the ability to scheme and plan, the way Seimei does, and goes along for the ride for the fun of it all instead of trying to challenge or contribute to the situation. Nisei told Seimei during the 7th volume as they infiltrated Gora that he had no ability to understand loving or being loved, and it was initially taken at face value as Nisei being a sociopath. But with Nisei's capture and struggling to accept that Seimei abandoned him, as well as Faceless making the observation later on that he is extremely attached to Seimei, perhaps without him being aware of it. This would make his statement about being unable to experience love most likely a statement to impress his distant and mysterious Sacrifice, or simply his lack of awareness of his own feelings towards him. Since he shares the true name "Beloved" with Seimei, it may be a factor into the innate bond he has towards him, and the inevitability of his attraction even as a Fighter. He can be extremely bitter and jealous when it comes to Seimei, targeting Soubi several times simply because Soubi is another Fighter for Seimei.

As of the most recent chapter, Nisei is extremely torn about Seimei, who responded to his call in just the nick of time where he had ignored him for so long, aside from getting him back from Septimal Moon in a prisoner exchange.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

+ Word-Spell: The ability to manipulate others and reality with words. Not present in Route 29.
+ Perceptive. He is very good at pinpointing something that will strike someone at their core, particularly things that elicit powerful emotional reactions.
+ Stealthy. Good at spying, wire tapping, and staying hidden.
+ Tight-lipped. ...Sort of. He is extremely good at not revealing confidential information, even under torture.
+/- Loyal. It's wonderful or miserable depending on which side the loyalty lies.
- Loose-lipped. He's good at keeping the big secrets, but if there's inconsequential information, he'll reveal it. Especially to get the heat off of his back.
- Built small. Not ideal for getting into a fist-fight.
- Easily ordered around. Namely by Seimei, but he is fairly easily bullied into submission.
- Cowardly. Prefers to avoid getting harmed if he can, and risks himself only for Seimei.

Pokémon Information
Affiliation: Team Rocket Grunt
Starter: Level 15 starter is Zorua(♂). All of Nisei's spells in his canon revolve around illusions, showing people what they fear most, and deceit. Nisei even used wordspell to trick Seimei's mother into mistaking him for her deceased son. Zorua is a dark type that reflects most accurately on what Nisei's specialty lies in. It is also a Special Attack user, reflecting again on Nisei's prowess with magic but physical weakness. Level 5 starter is Vulpix(♀).

First Person Sample:
[ Voice ]
[Nisei keeps his tone level and casual, despite the anxiety and frustration he was undoubtedly feeling. He made sure to find a quiet and secluded place to post from, clearing his throat before speaking.]

Since apparently some things have changed, I need a little bit of old-fashioned hear-say sort of help. Has anyone heard of a guy named Seimei?

But since most of you probably have no clue, I've got some other questions. Namely, who managed to engineer Sugimori's Pokémon? I recognize Vulpix, and this other thing looks pretty similar. Seimei's into those games more than anyone else I know.

Hmm... I guess another general question I can ask is what you all do for fun around here. Always have to look to expand my options, after all. Before I get back to where I'm supposed to be, that is. That's the most important thing.

Third Person Sample: The training was simplistic, and the deeds they wanted done all too easy. What sort of organization was this? A little too complicated to be a typical street gang, and it didn't deal out any illegal substances at all. But not really organized and intelligent enough to be a real gangster organization.

"They're not really all that good at what they're doing, huh?"

Not that anyone in the street would answer such a random question. The people in Goldenrod walked right past him, sparing him a glance and nothing more as they went about their day. Thank goodness for casual clothes, at least. So he had a new duty in hunting down Pokémon to be given to his "superiors", waiting for them to call for him. It wasn't too different from what Seimei wanted him to do. In fact, it was a lot more simple and harmless in comparison. It'd be tedious and boring, right?

But Nisei couldn't quite shake the dread of what would happen if Seimei were to arrive. Especially if Seimei decided to be against Team Rocket, which was really possible. Team Rocket wouldn't take too kind to a grunt abandoning them, certainly, and he really didn't want to go to prison. Or, if Seimei were to get mad at him for serving someone else, the consequences would be undoubtedly terrifying. Then again, Seimei could simply abandon him...

Nisei tensed, frowning severely. "He wouldn't. I'll be ready," he assured himself. 'I'll quit the moment I hear he's arrived!' he thought, but he was only fooling himself. If Seimei really were to arrive, then there was no way that things wouldn't get complicated and horrible. But he didn't want to think about it. He wasn't here, after all, so there was no point at all in thinking about it. No matter how unsettled he was.

"Alright, let's go find something to impress the boss," Nisei said aloud, distracting himself from such a worry for as long as he could.

Character
Name: King Bowser Koopa
Series: Super Mario (specifically Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG)
Timeline: Early Paper Mario, after chatting it up with the Koopa Bros.
Canon Resource Links: Bwa ha ha!

Personality: Bowser's got all of your typical evil villain traits. Boisterous laugh. Longing for power and domination. Tendency to kidnap damsels. But, despite getting his butt kicked again and again, he gets back up and tries the same old thing. It seems like almost every game features him spiriting Princess Peach off to his castle. If there's one thing this shows about Bowser it's that he's either very driven or... just plain stubborn.

He's a very larger than life kind of villain. When Bowser cooks up a scheme, he thinks big. Even in the very first game, he didn't just nab Peach! He transformed his minions into copies of himself and spread them throughout several different castles, transformed the people of the Mushroom Kingdom into bricks... brutal, but effective.

In Paper Mario, he takes this even further by snatching the Star Rod-- an item that granted the wishes of everyone throughout the Mushroom Kingdom! And why? Because the Star Spirits never granted his selfish wishes. Yup.

But it's not just his plans that are massive. Bowser's a very loud kinda guy. He frequently bursts into fits of evil laughter, roars at the top of his lungs, and pummels his foes into the ground. A big, brash bruiser, he's the type to stomp first and ask questions later. This is fully reflected by many of his attacks in Mario RPG. For example, one weapon allows him to hurl Mario at his foes! Not only does this reflect his strength-- it shows that he doesn't have a whole lot of regard for others' safety, as long as it gets the job done.

Ridiculously full of himself, he's completely convinced that each of his schemes will succeed, despite his long history of embarrassing failures, and he always seems to concoct some crazy contraptions just for the occasion.

Evil wind up toys, his trademark clown car, warships that fly through the sky, granting someone invincibility by ripping out their heart, not to mention all the booby traps that plague his fortresses... Despite his lack of foresight, Bowser's definitely got some creativity and some level of smarts. He's not stupid so much as a little bit dense.

One great example of this occurs in Mario RPG regarding Smithy and the shattered star road. The fact that its damage would allow him to catch Peach without a chance of her rescue pleased him despite the repercussions, and it didn't quite hit him that he'd have to choose between that and his Keep. He also shows an immense lack of patience, preferring to cut to the chase rather than worry about finer details in a conversation.

There's no denying Bowser's ruthlessness, either. As I already said, he holds little regard for the safety of others-- even his own minions! He always sets them up in dangerous situations, knowing fully well that Mario will surely pop in to save the day. And when they fail, he often explodes with anger. You'd think that after so many defeats he'd come to expect it, but nope. He'll shout at them, insult them... Very rarely does Bowser so a softer side, even to his closest underlings.

But there are exceptions. Once he lost his Keep and his troop, he become nostalgic and longed for those glory days of fighting Mario without any stinking swords raining on his parade. It got to a point where he was willing to put aside his differences with Mario just long enough to get his castle back. But uh. He totally joined the Koopa Troopa willingly. Really!

He also shows compassion towards his son, Bowser Jr., in Mario sunshine, and in Paper Mario he at least tries to make Peach comfortable in his own, Bowserish way. It seems that after kidnapping her so many times, Bowser's developed a sort of crush on her, though it's hardly a healthy relationship. After all, he knocked the stuffing outta Mario and refused to let her leave his castle once he shot it into space. He even kept her locked up in her room, for crying out loud!

But, if nothing else, it shows that Bowser's not just an evil overlord. There's at least some inkling of good buried under his rough, scaly exterior.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

+ Bowser is strong. Even without powers, he's a wall of muscle, capable of bashing and smashing things with ease. I imagine this'll carry over to Route on some level-- I kinda picture him a lot like Wreck-it Ralph in terms of build. HUGE arm and chest muscles that make him one devastating brawler.

+ He doesn't give up. Knock him down, he climbs back up with another sinister plot just waiting to unfold. He's also extremely driven towards his goals.

+ He might not be the brightest bulb, but Bowser does have bursts of creativity when concocting evil plots. If nothing else, he comes up with some wacky variations on the kidnapping princess routine.

+ Once in a blue moon, he does show a level of kindness quite striking for a big, dragon-turtle thing. If it weren't for the whole evil schtick, he'd probably be a fun guy to hang around just for how over the top he is.

- Dense and completely full of himself. Bowser gloats so much about his strength, his schemes, even his self-proclaimed handsomeness. As a result, he does not take losing well, even after so many failed plots. Complex ideas often fly over his head, and it's not that hard to trick him, either. After all, Peach is able to convince him that Mario's afraid of things like Mushrooms and Thunderbolts-- both items that help him fight enemies.

- He's got a fiery temper and doesn't always think things through. This goes hand in hand with his impatience, as Bowser often prefers a direct approach, smashing his way through obstacles and challenges.

- His lack of regard for others won't make him many friends, and his boisterous personality may irritate those around him.

- Subtlety is not his strong point. He does not hide he's a villain, which may irritate the other Rockets who prefer to keep a strong cover.

First Person Sample: [The feed begins with a shot of the ground and the sound of stomping. Then a large hand sweeps the PokéGear up, revealing the face of one burly man with huge, sharp teeth, bushy eyebrows, and a wild mess of orange hair. He snarls at the screen, holding up another one of his tremendous fists...

And then he roars. Yeah, this guy's something else.]

Grah! When I get my hands on whoever cursed me to look like a fleshy mammal, I'll give 'em a good stomping! Nobody, and I mean nobody, messes with the Koopa King and gets away with it!

[Grrrgh.]

My shell, my horns, my intimidatingly good looks! All gone, and I'm left looking like some over-sized ape! Like one of those pesky Mario Brothers!

[...And like Princess Peach... Hrm. Give him a second, he seems to be pondering something, given the hand near his chin.

...Nah.]

So tell me, just whose harebrained idea was this? I know you people can see this, so talk! Otherwise, you'll be dealing with the fury of the Koopa Troop, and believe me, you don't wanna get on their bad side.

[Okay, so it's a bit of a bluff, but, darn it! This stinks. Bad enough that he has to be part of some lame "Rocket" team.

But with his message outta the way, Bowser shuts off the feed.]

Third Person Sample: This was not the wake up call Bowser asked for.

He'd accomplished so much! Burst into Star Haven, snatched up that Star Rod, finally, after years of embarrassing defeats, defeated Mario! He was on top of the world. All the worlds wishes were in the palm of his hand, and there was nobody out there to stop him.

So how the heck did he end up stuck as a "Grunt" without his castle, his army, or even Kammy Koopa? This was not part of the plan, and upon waking, Bowser proceeded to take out his rage on a conveniently located walls. It would've felt pretty good, too, if he weren't stuck as a hideous human. How was he supposed to keep up his reputation when all he had left were his teeth? Where was the fire? The pizzazz?!

It was like this place had stripped him of everything that made him Bowser. And that alone was worse than all the times he'd been stomped, hurled at bombs, and nailed in the head by his own mechakoopas. It was even worse than that idiot Smithy snatching his castle, and that was saying a lot!

As he stomped through the hallways of the Rocket base, he sneered at his passersby. That tree-turtle thing he got trudged closely behind, nudging him along. From time to time he'd stop and tug at the collar of his new uniform. Really, who even designed the thing? All black with one dingy little R? All it did was make him look like some faceless minion. And he was a king!

Rolling his eyes, Bowser grumbled and continued along. Nothing added up, and he still wanted to pummel whoever threw him into this mess. But, in spite of his irritation, he'd find a way outta this mess somehow. Maybe then he could add this "Johto" place to his Koopa empire.

Vs. Hina (Mountain of Faith, Lunatic)

Personality: Hina is known as a goddess with more taboos surrounding her than you can count before a curse befalls you. To those who see her, they're left with a feeling of dread in their hearts and try to run away from her as fast as they can before they're cursed; they believe she is a malevolent goddess who will do nothing more than to harm them and cause their lives misery.

However, those people who have never truly met Hina couldn't be more wrong.

It's very true that she is a goddess who controls curses, and that she might appear as scary as she sounds. A lot of her time is spent from the sidelines of the Great Youkai Forest, which is at the summit of a large mountain with hoards of far more powerful beings. She certainly wouldn't be one to dissuade any rumors about herself--it makes her job, which is to keep any weak humans out of the mountain for their own safety, about twenty times easier. If she's said to be so cruel, she can use that to her advantage.

To be truthful though, Hina is actually a really nice goddess. She doesn't desire to bring curses upon anyone if she can help it--her special ability, which is 'Stockpiling Misfortune', is a pretty big hint at this. When it all comes down to it, she simply wants to ensure that no more curses befall anyone ever again. She simply uses her dolls to collect people's misfortune before scaring them away, and sending those dolls down the river. She does it all to make people feel better in the end.

Above all, she insists, she is a friend of humans. They may not like her, but she's completely willing to let bygones be bygones and help these people no matter what. If anything, she feels that it's the least she can do--she would never dream of cursing anything but a youkai intentionally, after all.

In a way, she's like a mother in that regard--she's constantly looking out for people whether they know it (or want it sometimes) or not. She does it out of a sense of duty for them; she genuinely believes that she can help people, and it's what she likes to do. She can be a bit smothering with this, though; while she likes to help and has good intentions, she really believes that she's the one who knows best when she really doesn't. For a friend of humans, she has very little faith in them at all.

Hina is also a pretty social presence. She has very little trouble actually speaking to people, and is generally one of the nicest people to ever lay a curse on someone. She likes to talk to other people, but she's just as fine being solitary--she can make due with both scenarios, though she's usually used to the latter. She encourages it as much as she does her fearful presence--she knows herself well enough that if someone stays around long enough, the stockpiled misfortune will leak onto them, and that's the last thing she wants.

When it all comes down to it, Hina is the kindest curse god you may have the misfortune of meeting.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

+ Hina is a very social person, and has no trouble talking to people.
+ Despite her reputation, her demeanor is bright and cheerful, and she's a very nice person.
+ Hina is extremely friendly; she's completely willing to reach out to others and talk them up (at a certain distance, like over video) like they're old friends. She's not hard to make friends with.

+/- Hina is utterly kind to the point where she's willing to stick it out for others--it all depends on the person she's doing so for whether this is good or bad.
+/- She believes that all humans have good inside of them, but she can be mothering to a point that it might be smothering to another person.
+/- Hina can be a bit on the motherly side, and looks out for other's best interest. This can be good or bad because she can go from one extreme (looking out for people) to the other (trying to gently boss people around and decide what's best for them).
+/- Hina really doesn't have a lot of faith in humans, believing them to be...pretty weak, in all honesty. Certainly they have enough strength, but not enough to match her.

- Hina can be rather pushy with people if she believes that she's doing the right thing for them. She's completely stubborn in her ways, and doesn't budge even when she thinks she's wrong.
- She's used to cursing people if they stay around her for too long, so while she is kind, she'll put herself at a distance from people for what she believes to be their own safety.
- She puts just about everyone above herself--she genuinely believes that she'll be fine, but she genuinely wants to make sure harm comes to no one else but herself.
- She's confident to the point of possible false assurance that she'll be okay in any incident. As much as she wouldn't want to curse anyone, she will do it if she feels a need to--and with her powers gone, this'll basically translate into some quaint overconfidence.

First Person Sample: --ome now, turn on you--aha!

[That would be the triumphant sound of someone managing to turn on her gear! She's...rather ornate, to say the least, with ribbons all around her and just popping out like a sore thumb. She waves her hand dismissively at the screen, before speaking to everyone.]

I don't know how many others are here, but hello! This place is certainly interesting, is it not? There seem to be so many more humans than I remember, along with such unusual creatures...

[Hina ponders this for a moment, staring off into space--she's back within a minute though, jerking her head back down and chuckling.]

Ah, well--I suppose it might be a good time to mention this, wouldn't it? [The gear seems to lift up for a moment, with parts of a Sigilyph's wings showing on the screen while Hina spins for a couple of seconds.]

My name is Hina Kagiyama, and I am a gatherer of misfortune. Now, I don't exactly know how much this world is compared to the likes of mine, but it is my job to take the misfortune of humans and pass it to the gods. If any human is in need of their tragedies taken away, I will do what I can to reach you and do just that!

[Hina walks over to take the gear from the odd bird, but then a look of confusion overtakes her face.]

...Er, now...how do you turn this off? Is it right to keep this on all of the time..?

Third Person Sample: With everything considered, Hina could definitely find pros and cons in this whole situation.

Well, she could talk to humans now couldn't she? She could travel with them, get to know them and protect them as much as she could. She wouldn't have to worry about her misfortunes rubbing off onto those around her, and they could live with their lives as normal as they please. She could live a normal life--something she'd never even considered, much less thought would be for her. She could be one of those she protected, if only for a while. She could get to know them, and maybe even cultivate some close bonds with them if she played found the right people.

...And yet, she couldn't escape that gnawing feeling in the back of her head. She'd lost her purpose--she couldn't take misfortune anymore, and everyone would be a subject to the wheel of fate. She could only do so much, but things still might happen. That thought gnawed away at Hina's mind like no one's business--what if a tragedy were to happen? Or if, gods forbid, someone died? What would anyone think, if she went to her true purpose? What would the Yama think, given that she's already gone down a different path altogether...

In a sense, she was damned if she was; in the sense that she'd be back to the same way she was, maybe with a little more pain in her heart, and damned if she wasn't; in that she couldn't adequately protect people by her definition.

Hina hugged into her Sigilyph, who laid near her--she kept her out of her Poke Ball at all times, and she was her closest friend and confidant of sorts--and sighed. She had plenty of time to think on this, but she knew it wasn't going to go away anytime soon.

Character
Name: 2
Series: 9
Timeline: Post-canon.
Canon Resource Links: Wikipedia, the 9 wiki is basic and really not that stellar but 2's page is relatively good, and while I'm at it, TvTropes. Also with character page.

Personality: The best about 2 is probably summed up by the fact that his character tagline is "To inspire us." In a way inspiration is to 2 as oxygen is to a fish, as goofy an analogy as that is - he filters it out of his surroundings and as good as breathes it. And while he's at it he tries to pass a little of that ability on to the people around them or help them find a little inspiration themselves.

2 often comes off as somewhat jovial. Not exuberantly, but he's noticeably upbeat, especially considering what he's been through/been living like for most of his life. He is optimistic, but in a realistic sense, just as realism can resemble pessimism. He wouldn't have survived as long as he did had he refused to acknowledge problems and not been on his guard and conscious of stakes, but he doesn't let anxieties or negative feelings wear him or his nerve down or convince him to back himself into a corner and hide; instead, he makes note of and finds motivation in whatever positives and spots of hope he identifies in a situation. He approaches many things this way - he's an inventor who back home scavenges the wasteland for his building material and is written in a couple places as being "fascinated with garbage". What might be more accurate is that to him that's for a given value of "garbage" - everything is good for something besides throwing out, he has a tendency to examine for and pick out the more useful or just finer details in things. That extends beyond garbage, 'course. He can just about always find something new and interesting in his surroundings or something to love or at least appreciate about the world, the beauty to things. Even at his mental age, he has a fully-functional sense of wonder.

And seeing what's already there is one thing. He's also incredibly curious in every which way - examples, the scientist remembers the first thing he did when he was brought to life was wander around the workshop and touch and examine every thing he saw, and 1 cites his relentless determination to learn about the cause of and time before the war and the group's purpose as why he sent him on a suicide scouting mission. He's got enough experience and common sense to not be completely reckless about it, but he's certainly bold when it comes to taking risks or holding out in dire situations whether for hopeful later safety or pursuing knowledge. He's also practical but gung-ho about putting his imagination to use, both when it comes to coming up with new questions to set out finding the answer to and getting creative with, say, an idea for a project.

Enough about 2 and things for a paragraph, let's go onto 2 and people. 2's a sweetheart. He's not shy in the slightest, though he's polite (then again, the only one of the nine who could possibly be called crude would be 8). He seems to be wholly comfortable around anyone who is decidedly non-hostile. Unlike 1 and 8 who enforce it or 7 who will rebel against it, he also seems to be unconcerned with heirarchy - he'll go with the flow in a group but use any room for freedom he has, and without any freedom, he might become a little exasperated. Lack of interest in its heirarchy doesn't equal lack of interest in the team. He's generous, willing to lend a hand, enjoys seeing others happy and comfortable, and whenever he can make a choice betwen protecting his own safety and someone else's, he'll choose the latter - he put his ass on the line to save both 5 and 9, on separate occasions, both when he'd still just met each one. He's a gentle dude with a gigantic heart. And he's really... affectionate. Touchy-feely affectionate. The entire cast seems to be - all of them but 1, 8, and to a lesser extent 7 seem like they wouldn't have any reservations about giving someone a pat on the back for havin' done good kid or a brohug of comfort to anyone they know on more than a "Yeah I've seen him a couple times at the supermarket, he seems nice." 2 in particular seems to be pretty uninhibited about it and in fact in general seems second only to the twins in having a lack of sense of personal space. He's open-hearted and strikes me as one to have a lot of faith in others. He wouldn't try to expect anything of anyone else he doubted they could handle, but he would trust them to try as much as he'd try to prove they'd be able to put trust in him.

Onward again, 2 is very brave and surprisingly audacious. In a way that can look downright out of his mind. He's definitely capable of feeling fear - he shakes like a leaf when the Cat Beast has him cornered at the end of his first scene. He just does his damnedest not to let it affect him. If he's decided he's going to get anything done - make a vital discovery, save a life, etcetera, etcetera - he won't be deterred from it. Under ideal conditions, he'll back away from something but try again as hard as he can later once he's prepared. Under terrible ones that only give him one shot at whatever it is he's trying to accomplish, he'll take the risk anyway. He can be said to push his luck, and he has a kind of stubbornness. And he's a very nice, honest person. There are many, many things he wouldn't do to make things easier on himself. He's probably not one to trust with his own already not-at-its-fullest health.

As for a last few notes, I would guess him to have less of a tendency to feel anger than just about anything else. Resentment and maybe frustration, naturally, but I really don't see him having a temper. He's observant but might have a little of a short attention span, and can get caught up in any trains of thought he picks up, turning a bit oblivious to everything outside them - he tries to be sensitive to others but may not always be the best at reading subtle once-given hint-hint messages from others - or just ride them a little too enthusiastically, maybe saying something to himself without any context to anyone nearby or musing out loud ("I DIG UR MOLDED COPPER HANDS"). Word of Canon God himself also describes him as a "salty old sea dog" but with a "softness". He's surprisingly tenacious or at least resistant for his age. He's an apocalypse survivor after all. But, well, it's established by now that he's a good-natured sweetheart, possibly also somewhat sentimental. I'm not sure how to say this but that his personality has a pure and genuine quality that of course doesn't mean naivete. Add everything together and you have one o' them good ol' benevolent eccentric geniuses.

Strengths/Weaknesses: 2's biggest strength is his brain. He is incredibly smart, resourceful, creative, observant, and inquisitive, a lover of knowledge and discovery without ulterior motives, relishing in it itself and the process of finding, interpreting, and applying it. He's especially handy with technology, repairs, and invention - give him a few assorted spare parts and bits of scrap and he can whip you up some kind of rough-but-useful tool, and he's probably also decent with cloth/fabric/sewing, going off the fact that 5 is the team healer but then again was 2's apprentice and after fixing 9's arm remarked that "If 2 were here, he would've done a better job." He's caring, helpful, and a team player - or if he doesn't fall in with a full-sized team, he makes for a supportive partner. He does whatever he can to give those he's friends/working with anything they need. And he's very determined, brave, and mentally very hardy - if he's fixed on anything, his frail little body will run to its absolute physical limits on willpower alone. It would probably also be safe to say that he has a high tolerance for pain and little fear of it to start with - stitchpunks can definitely feel pain, but don't react to it particularly strongly, which makes sense since being made of what they're made of, injuries generally aren't that hard to repair.

His biggest strengths also double as his weaknesses in many cases. As for the most notable point, 5 puts his boldness as "forget[ting] to be scared" - it should be obvious why it isn't necessarily a great thing. He's not afraid to push his limits or luck or take one for the team, and as a short, delicate older guy with a cane, bad posture, and worse eyesight, in his case that can be very, very bad thing, and in fact it seems mostly accepted in fanon that he wouldn't be quite so worn-and-torn in the first place if he didn't already have a habit of pushing his limits a little too far or ignoring/neglecting them. And he's sort of... unlucky and accident-prone to begin with. In short, he's brilliant but a near-self-destructive fragile weakling. The difference in shape and culture shock upon entering Johto also won't exactly make things easier for him.

Pokémon Information
Affiliation: Trainer - of the kind that has more in common with explorers and professors' aides than wannabe League Champions.
Starter: I'd love for 2 to start from square one with a Litwick - each one of the stitchpunks has a "trademark" item of sorts, 2's being a smashing hat made out of a candle and a glasses lens, and I can't help but like association between 2 and a gently warm and illuminating candle. There'd be a bit of irony to it as a bonus: the Litwick line are soul-snatching Will-o'-the-Wisps, and 2 had his post-mortem role in canon as the strobe-light-eyed lure on the end of the tail of the Seamstress, creation of the also soul-snatching Fabrication Machine. Failing that, a Zigzagoon will do just fine!

Samples
First Person Sample: [An audio recording comes on to a beat, followed by a beat, and then a soft, aged voice.]

Ah - hello... everyone!

[A trace of what may be amusement or confusion rises in the speaker's tone.] If I may... If anyone should recognize it, or my voice, my name is 2. Can anyone tell me how long it's been, since I've last ommunicated from this device?

It feels as if I've woken up from a good, long rest. So long - that it seems this world's decided it was best I start over. I had three Pokemon with me before. I trust they're fending for themselves, wherever they may be now. But it seems I've been given a new one - hang on...

[A transition to video shows the old bespectacled man doing the recording looking indeed somewhat amused, and excited. He turns the camera to a Litwick.]

There. What kind of creature are you?

I did have a look in the Pokedex. He belongs to the Ghost type, is that right? I'm sure traveling with you will be quite a unique experience; I look forward to it greatly!

[The Litwick cooes a response in Pokemon speak.

As for 2, whether his original question is still in his mind or not, ends the feed there.]

Third Person Sample: The atmosphere was fantastically different - in character and in weather. 2 had woken up in Johto first in the middle of a snowstorm, and it had still been winter when he'd slipped back out. It was cold now, but more colorful. The trees were leafier, even if he still wasn't seeing much green. He'd missed at least one spring and summer. He had caught late autumn. Winter was just a few weeks away, and this was still sufficiently new. Even winter would be new, too. Enough had evidently changed in the year he'd been dormant - the darker brown birds with the beady black eyes definitely hadn't been on Route 29 the first time he'd passed through it, and now they were as prevalent as the Pidgeys.

2 hadn't been gone, for the mental difference it made. If he'd been anywhere else, he couldn't tell. But he was still peculiarly thrilled and eager to be back. It was an extreme of the excitement of greeting a new day that he'd first learned here in the first place - he had been resting, and while he'd been doing so, so much had refreshed and rearranged, old tasks to perform swapped out for new ones with new details to catch in the process, and once he'd warmed up this delicately complicated, pre-weathered human body of his, the better it would be for making up for lost time. It was fascinating all over again that the idea of lost time - time passing at all - made such a difference.

He couldn't help but feel lucky. Maybe even blessed. And it left him wondering, also all over again, how much of a right he had to be here. Not 1, nor 5, nor 6, nor 8 had responded to the recording he'd sent out on waking up in New Bark Town again. Then again, he'd apparently somehow come back from slipping off of the face of this world to a peaceful and oblivious limbo. That could be where they were, just outside. And from his recollection or lack thereof of whatever state he'd been in, it wasn't a bad one at all. It was a kind of freedom. Lack of attachment to or concern over anything.

This, however, was something he couldn't help but appreciate more. Maybe it was unfair that he'd run his course back home and was here in an afterlife in a completely alternate and living world, with everything he and the other eight had been created in response to the loss of and more to feel, observe, take in; that's why he was lucky. And Johto had already pulled him in. There ought to be a chance that the same could happen to them. Perhaps even that there were other similar planes that they could wake up on, where they could see and understand firsthand everything that their world hadn't given them the chance to, be happy again.

That last thought was a slightly lonely one. When he'd first met 9, everything had felt as if it had come together, or been completed. But then, they were all very different parts of whatever exactly the whole was that they made up. There would be something appropriate about each of them scattered off to very different new worlds, too. And 2 didn't see the thought of starting fresh among entirely new people as such a bad thing - he and this new Pokemon companion of his already seemed to be getting off to a friendly start.

Character
Name: Rainbow Dash
Series: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Timeline: Early Season 3
Canon Resource Links: http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Rainbow_Dash

Personality: Rainbow Dash is very confident in her abilities as a Pegasus flyer, which others see as laziness; the reason behind that is she can often be found lying down on a cloud, sleeping or putting off her work. When tested on it, Rainbow takes care of her job in 'ten seconds flat.' (Rainbow Dash's job in Ponyville is to clean up the clouds when they gather, especially when it's needed to be sunny and to bring in the rain when it's needed.) Despite Rainbow Dash's apparent laziness, she is a hard-working, contributing pony. She's also well known as a prankster, as she and Pinkie Pie are seen pulling pranks on various ponies with the exception of Fluttershy, and she tries to make Princess Celestia's royal guards laugh. (She finally convinces the Princess' pet phoenix to help out, which works successfully.) Rainbow also does this to Pinkie Pie and various other ponies in the Halloween themed episode 'Luna Eclipsed' while dressed as a Shawdowbolt. She does get pranked herself at the end of the episode by Princess Luna.

Rainbow doesn't hide her annoyance at her friends' behavior, though this is mostly shown with Fluttershy during the first season: in the episode 'Dragonshy,' Rainbow Dash is short-tempered with Fluttershy's shyness and her fears at confronting a dragon the ponies need to convince to move somewhere else so Ponyville won't endure 100 years of smoke-filled air; in the episode 'Suited for Success' she scolds Fluttershy for suggesting they panic when the ponies need to figure out how to help a distressed Rarity, and in the episode 'Sonic Rainboom' she's so frustrated with Fluttershy's meek cheering - 'Yay.' - that she does a pratfall. (Despite her rude nature toward Fluttershy, she doesn't apologize to her later.) Rainbow Dash's shortness with Fluttershy comes back to bite her in the beginning teaser of season two's 'Dragon Quest,' where she tries to force her to go to the Dragon Migration because she went to the Butterfly Migration with her; Fluttershy angrily kicks her in the stomach in retaliation and runs off.

In 'Hurricane Fluttershy,' Rainbow Dash has matured somewhat and now shows a great amount of patience and concern for her friends. When all of Ponyville's Pegasi ponies are needed to lift rainwater up to Cloudsdale, which is Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy's hometown, she supports Fluttershy and encourages her to help. At the end, when Fluttershy has overcome her fears of being humiliated when they were younger for her lack of wing power while helping funnel the water to Cloudsdale, Rainbow Dash expresses her gratitude with an excited and joyful hug, calling Fluttershy a champion flyer.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

+ She's Athletic. Both Fluttershy and Princess Celestia call her the fastest pony in all of Equestria which she proved by winning the Best Young Flyers' competition held in Cloudsdale.

+ She's Confident. If there's ever any kind of trouble in Ponyville, Rainbow Dash is usually the first to volunteer and jump into action. She's learned how to show grace and humility when it comes to being a hero, and not rub it in other pony's faces.

+She's Loyal. She proved her loyalty to her friends when Nightmare Moon took on a form of the Shadowbolts and tried to coerce Rainbow Dash into following them. Despite wanting to meet them so badly, she couldn't abandon her friends on their quest and her decision earned her the Element of Loyalty.

- She's Boastful. She literally toots her own horn and says she's the best, whether it's at the Running of the Leaves or being Ponyville's resident hero. When her pride was broken thanks to the mysterious Mare Do Well outshining her, she was very jealous and insisted that she was better than the masked hero.

+/- She's Competitive. Since she was a young filly Rainbow Dash has a passion for winning. She hates losing and reacts poorly to failure, or even the possibility of failing. She has resorted to doing whatever it takes to win, though she was humbled about it afterward. She has been terrified at the thought of making a fool of herself.

- She's Rude. She will be direct, or get 'in your face' if anypony challenges her or tries to insult her friends. She won't hold back, but she does get short with her friends on occasion and does likewise with them. Unless prompted to do so, she won't apologize.

Samples
First Person Sample:

(The Pokegear clicks on to show Rainbow Dash close up, but her eyes are closed and her mouth's slightly open. Her Charmander, who she's nicknamed Blaze, is holding up the device to show that Dash has fallen asleep on her journey. The Pokegear moves around a few times as Rainbow Dash wakes up abruptly on the bench, pulling the device out of Blaze's hands while smiling sheepishly.)

Eheh...sorry about that! Guess I won't make that mistake again...it's your Friendly Neighborhood Rainbow Dash here, still making my way to the next town while looking for my friends but also some more Pokemon to catch. Having Blaze with me is awesome, but he can't handle everything by himself! I could if trainers were allowed to compete themselves but...

Char!

Ha, sorry Blaze. I don't mean it like that. You could definitely handle anyone we face, but we need some more friends if we're gonna make sure that we win! I think the forest is a good place to start looking, and after that we'll get something to eat before getting to the next town. Like that idea, Blaze?

Charmander, char!

That's the spirit! Twilight, Fluttershy-don't leave the city 'cause I'll be there really soon. As Celestia as my witness, we'll see you girls and meet your Pokemon in one day!

Third Person Sample: The soothing silence of the house was broken by a scream. Specifically, Rainbow Dash's scream as she bolts out of bed, getting to her feet while looking around in disbelief before staring down at herself, trying not to panic. Her eyes widened as she saw hands where her front hooves usually were. She glanced down past her legs and saw feet. Feet that weren't the familiar-looking hooves she'd expected to see.)

"What's going on here? Where's Ponyville? Did Twilight cause another mishap with her magic that changed me? WHERE'S TANK?!!!"

Char!

"...Tank?" (Rainbow Dash sighed in relief as she looks beneath the bed, expecting to see her pet tortoise but instead sees a small, orange-like Pokemon with a flame at the end of it's tail!)

"You're not Tank! Applejack pulled this, didn't she?"

Char?

(Rainbow sighs while crouching down and allowing the Charmander to come out. It was time to be direct.) "Look, I'm sure you'd make an excellent pet but the thing is, I don't know what you are, much less what happened to me! Fluttershy didn't sing about you, 'cause if she had I'm sure I'd remember it. And besides, I already have a pet turtle! So...I'll take you back to Applejack now."

(She offers a big, sheepish smile while Charmander blinked a few times.) "Or was it Pinkie Pie?"

CHAAAAAAAAAR! (Rainbow Dash coughed and blinked upon being enveloped by a small, but pretty effective Smokescreen attack. She wiped away any soot that got on her face and gave Charmander a grin while her hands moved up her changed body slowly, excitement and curiosity visible in her eyes.)

"Okay. THAT was awesome! Maybe I'll let you stick around after all. There's no rule that says ponies need just one pet. Or whatever I am now...what are these?!"

Character

Name: Asakura Hao

Series: Shaman King

Timeline:Before the Second Round begins

Canon Resource Links: Loads of info here

Personality: Hao generally has the default emotion of 'amused', and rarely does he ever show any other emotion, even if he might be feeling it. You see whatever emotion Hao wants you to see, and he's had 1000 years of practice to get this perfect.

His amusement, however, is generally derived from others, thinking of most of them as weak, insignificant ants that should get out of his way or be crushed. He only cares about those who are strong, or have pure hearts. If you don't fall into either of those categories, tread lightly, for Hao has no problems killing anyone who crosses him. Actually, Hao has no problems killing anyone to further his own goals. Adults, children, it doesn't matter to him, and this is proven when he kills Redseb and Seyrem and absorbs the two kids souls to increase his own power.

Of course, he wasn't always like this. During his first incarnation as Asaha Douji, as a boy, he was constantly surrounded by not only the horrors of war, but death, as well as having seen his mother burn to death because she could see and talk to spirits. The monk had called her a demon, and Asaha was lucky to escape with his own life. Along the way, the lonely boy met a demon that called himself 'Ohachiyo', and the demon convinced the small boy to forget about taking revenge, and to live each day to its fullest. Which Asaha did. Ohachiyo taught Asaha many things: the sweetness of candy, the names of different birds, how to write, and even how to count and bath properly.

Unfortunately, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end eventually. A villager caught Asaha talking to himself in the middle of the night, and told the local priest. As it turned out, it was the same priest who murdered his mother, and was about to murder the small boy too. Except, Asaha beat him too it. It was Hao's first murder, and he lost his friend Ohachiyo in the process, leaving him alone once more, as well as cursed with the ability to read people’s hearts and minds from absorbing the demon. Cursed, because he has no control over this, and is unable to turn it off. This was the cause for his decent into madness, and obsession with ridding the world of humans.

Hao is, for a lack of a better word, insatiably stubborn. At his weakest (first incarnation), while alive, he fought and won against the 75 lords of Hell, allowing him to have the ability to choose whenever he wants to reincarnate himself. A feat that even ghosts themselves cannot usually accomplish and they have a far easier time entering the spirit realm.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

Strengths
Hao really doesn't have many weaknesses. He's been alive long enough to improve on pretty much all of them. It probably also helps he can read people's hearts and minds, allowing him to get the upper hand in all of his fights. Being alive for 1000 years really has its advantages. Even without a spirit to fight with, Hao is an excellent fighter, and has mastered many styles of fighting, and has quite a fair bit of stamina.

He is rarely seen angry or even irritated really, as his power of reishii allows him to constantly be one up on everyone else, and prepared for anything anyone might decide to throw at him. He is incredibly persistent in getting whatever he wants, and doing whatever he wants. This is proof by the fact that he's tried three times to become the Shaman King, even though he was defeated twice in his previous lives, it doesn't seem to hinder his ambitions to create a shaman only kingdom.

Weaknesses
His own ability of reishii. It drove him mad, and because the game will take this ability away from him (for the most part), it will possibly cause quite a bit of paranoia to crop up from Hao. He's grown used to being able to know exactly what others are thinking, and not being able to will have him wondering what’s going on, and probably far easier to provoke.

Another one of the weaknesses he has is his stubbornness, which while yes, is also a strength, is also one of his weaknesses. He's so concentrated on the big picture, that when one of the smaller plans doesn’t succeed, he brushes it off.

Also, while yes, Hao is incredibly hard to provoke, when it does happen (which is more likely without his reishii ability), he's more prone to making mistakes, and ending up only enraged further and further. Especially when things turn out not in the way he had planned.

He also has a bad habit of toying with people instead of finishing them off. You know, standard villain fair.

Well, it seems I have been gone for a rather long time, haven’t I?

[There's very little amusement in his tone. He's back in New Bark town after having traveled rather far his first time here.] As well, it seems that all of my previous pokemon are missing, and I’m not left with....

Deeeeer!

This thing. [He motions to and shows everyone his rather jolly looking deerling, prancing around him in energetic circles. You can practically feel the :DDDD face it's giving off, happy at her new fandangled trainer.]

Yes, well. If anyone has any reasons for the fact my team previously seems to have up and disappeared... Or rather, perhaps if anyone knows where they vanished too, please let me know.

[He pauses, being shuffled to the side slightly by his energetic deerling head butting him lovingly.]

My name is Asakura Hao, and I'm sure it is a pleasure to meet you all.

Third Person Sample: It's not that he was sad by the fact his team seemed to have up and disappeared, and in their place was a scrawny looking fawn type pokemon. Asakura Hao did not get sad by such things. Annoyed, yes, but never sad.

Or maybe he was mostly annoyed by the fact that his prized fire-type pokemon seemed to have disappeared. How long had he been gone anyways? It hadn't exactly felt that long to him. Surely he would have recalled such a thing.

Plus, it was annoying that he'd have to walk all the way back to where he was before, instead of going about it from where he had been before.

On the plus, he didn't have the psychotic Gastly or Drifloon attempting to wreak havoc upon him once more. It was also annoying that he'd have to go through that woman claiming to be his mother once more. As if. The mere ludicrous of that was immeasurable.

"Deerling-lin-ling!"

"Ah. I suppose you're my new companion, then, aren't you?" Said without an ounce of his regular amusement. No, he wasn't going to sulk over having his previously prized pokemon taken from him. He was above that, as the future Shaman King.

It didn't mean he had to enjoy it, however. Especially since it seemed that his badges were gone.

This meant he would receive the pleasure of fighting that flying-type gym leader all over again. With a type that was weak against flying type moves. What an insufferable headache this was going to be—

And if his Deerling didn't stop prancing around he was positive that his incoming headache was going to end up all that much more worse.

"Deer? Deerling?"

"Yes, we'll leave right now. There's nowhere else to go, it seems, and I know better than to stick around in this dead-end of a town."

The only bright side to this was that he wouldn't have to worry about his deadbeat brother, his friends, or his fiancé. Maybe, if he was extra lucky, they wouldn't show up until he was miles away. Even better if they didn't show up at all, for that matter.

Character
Name: Fa Mulan
Series: Disney's Mulan
Timeline: After she defeats Shan Yu and returns home.
Canon Resource Links: Mulan's Wiki page!

Personality:
Fa Mulan has a number of personality traits that make her much more unique than other women her age. However, although she grows increasingly stronger and braver throughout her life she does not lose those traits she portrayed from a younger age.

Mulan has always been an extremely clumsy person which is probably indicated most clearly during her meeting with the Matchmaker. However, in most cases she is usually able to counteract this clumsiness with her resourcefulness. When bringing tea for her father she drops the cup but immediately produces another one saying that she always carries a spare. When it comes to situations under pressure such as facing Shan Yu in the mountains she thinks and acts quickly and although she didn’t think of the full consequences of her actions it definitely produced the outcome that she had been hoping for. Back to her meeting with the Matchmaker, it’s not something that Mulan was keen to do however; she does not want to disappoint her family so she goes ahead with it. That is all she wants to do, to bring honour to her family. She is extremely insecure and believes that everything that she does is not good enough for her family.

Her family and her father in particular mean absolutely everything to her which is why she decided to risk everything and take her father’s place in the army. She does it without a moment’s hesitation, highlighting this love that she has for him and showing her selflessness. As soon as she enters the camp she feels extremely uncomfortable and a little out of her depth. Pretending to be a man definitely doesn’t come easy to her but she is determined not to give up and eventually she gets it right. Not without a few mishaps on the way, of course. She is a little too trusting of Mushu at the beginning, taking everything that her guardian says as wise and accurate advice. This got her into trouble more than once especially when Mushu told her to slap Yao on the butt “they like that” which resulted in a fight. It’s clear that she feels awkward around the camp even though she does grow more comfortable once she gets to know them a little better.

Her determination is shown again in camp when she refuses to give up on training even when Shang tells her to pack up and go home, she will definitely not give up without a fight. Her bravery and courage is clearly displayed more than once but especially when she manages to save the Emperor from Shan Yu and earns the title of Saviour of China. She returns home, bringing honour to her family but she learns that honour is not the most important thing to her or to her family. It is being together as a family and being there for one another.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Nothing out of the ordinary with Mulan here such as magical abilities! However, she possesses various martial arts skills at an extremely high and impressive level and ability for someone her age, she has good skills with a sword which was taught to her in the army, she has also great strength and intelligence which helps her in any fight.
Her main fears and weaknesses are fears of failure and bringing dishonour to her family and those who know her. When she is not in the frame of mind of battle she can be extremely clumsy and lazy, often getting other people or her dog Little Brother to do her chores for her.

Hello, everyone.

[A slightly wary voice comes through the PokéConnect. There is a flickering of a screen before Mulan appears, her Piplup beside her. They both have food before them and Piplup is eating away merrily.]
I'm addressing you all today because I have a few questions. I'm just starting out on my quest to become a Pokémon Master but...I'm not one hundred percent sure how to do that exactly. I know I have to fight gym leaders...
And do I really have to travel all this way without my horse? [There's a pause before she speaks again] Not that I can't do it, I can, I was just...wondering.
And there's no chance I can return back home? It's just that I've left my family behind and I don't want to let the Emperor down either. He sent for me just before I arrived here and I am afraid China could be in grave danger. [Again.]

Third Person Sample:

"That's enough, Piplup. Return!"
Mulan holds out a Pokéball and Piplup disappears inside of it. She places the Pokéball back into her belt while immediately reaching for an empty on beside it. For a moment she looks at the Pokémon, a rat like creature that the Pokédex had told her was called Rattata. She felt sorry for it as it stumbles a little and falls to the ground, completely worn out from its face to face with Piplup.
The feeling fades eventually once she remembers one of the many things she's been told. As soon as she manages to capture it she can head to a Pokémon Centre and heal it up to full health again. That is if she manages to catch it. With one more deep breath she throws the Pokéball in Rattata's direction.

"Pokéball, go!" Mulan's lips press together and she's even scared to breathe as the Pokéball shakes, the Pokémon trying to escape the confines of the ball. "Come on...come on..." After what seems like forever the ball stops shaking and there's a sound.

"Yes, we did it!" She rushes forward to lift the Pokéball in her hands. She takes out the other and releases Piplup. Bending down beside her new friend, the penguin Pokémon she pets him on the head. "Well done Piplup! I couldn't have done this without you." And it's true, she couldn't. This whole thing had been so strange to her...waking up in this place, being given a Pokémon, something she had never heard of in her life before and being told so many things about this world from passersby. She's sure she wouldn't have been able to get through it all without Piplup, who she had quickly grown to love.

"Well, I guess the next stop is the Pokémon Centre." She doesn't return Piplup to its Pokéball but lets him walk with her for a while as she grabs her backpack and heads on to the next town.

Character
Name: Ron Stoppable
Series: Kim Possible
Timeline: Just after the final episode: Graduation
Canon Resource Links: http://kimpossible.wikia.com/wiki/Ron_Stoppable (”http://kimpossible.wikia.com/wiki/Ron_Stoppable”)

Personality: As everyone has a tendency to list Ron’s worst traits before his good ones, I may as well start with those.

There’s a reason almost every villain of Kim’s calls Ron a buffoon, and it’s because he kind of is. He’s forgetful, easily distracted, is a bit a procrastinator and slacker (Something he’s improving on), a bit gullible (although he’s also improving on that front), occasionally clumsy, not exactly what some would call bright (A symptom of his slacker status. He’s actually pretty intelligent when he wants to be), has focusing issues, his mind goes to weird places when in high stress situations, does not know when to shut up even when giving villains outright advice, is prone to big-headiness in certain situations (another thing he’s been improving on by trying not to let things go that way) and still has something of a difficult time balancing his childlike wonder with his growing responsibilities. He’s slightly paranoid, and scared of pretty much everything (At least he used to be. He’s been learning how to deal with those fears). He’s weird, slightly unhygienic, and obsessed with fast-food tex-mex. In addition to that obsession, he has a tendency to become fixated on certain things, often to his detriment.

On the other hand? He’s brave (the type of brave that pushes forward even when he’s scared out of his wits), is good with children and small animals, caring, has a pretty bug heart, is insanely creative, and is more perceptive and intelligent than most people give him credit for. He’s a terrible liar. His worst traits are something he’s been working on (the fact that he’s absolutely in love with Kim and that she loves him back have been a major factor in this). He’s supportive, fun loving, and when things are at their worst, when even Kim has given up, he’s able to pull through in ways that shock even him. He’s great at distracting people, and can be both actually romantic and weirdly romantic. He’s more or less socially blind, being able to befriend people in every social circle, from jocks and cheerleaders, to geeks and nerds, to the physically and mentally disabled, all without judging any of them.

Suffice to say, Ron may be majorly weird, and have his flaws, but he’s actually a pretty good guy to know.

There’s also Zorpox, who god-willing won’t show up, but I feel I should mention him. Zorpox is an alternate persona of Ron’s that come out when exposed to the Attitudinator or other alignment swapping effects. When Ron is Zorpox, he is completely insane, pure evil his latent intellect comes up the fore and is turned up to eleven, his tendency to get completely obsessed with things is also ratcheted up, and he’s actually competent at being evil unlike most of the KP universe villains. In relation to Kim, pre-Ron and her dating Zorpox wanted to defeat her, and wanted to turn her just as evil as him when he showed up after they started doing so.
Strengths/Weaknesses:

STRENGTHS

Running and dodging ability: Honed after ears of running from doomsday devices and henchmen, Ron, despite his clumsiness, has running and dodging abilities that would make some pro-level running backs jealous.

Cooking: Having been interested in the art since a child, cooking is one of the few areas Ron excels in where Kim does not. He is, in fact, so good at it that, while still in school, was actually allowed to teach his Home Ec class and turned the school cafeteria into a high-class restaurant.

Animal care and speech: Ron is actually pretty good at caring for animals, Rufus’s health being a good example of this, as is the fact that while working at Smarty Mart he was made to take care of the pet’s section. He also has some skill at speaking to animals, having been able to chat with naked mole rats, giant roaches, monkeys, and mutant dachshunds and understand the first three. (Headcanon states that he’s only really able to do this when the animals in question are somewhat sapient. Given that all Pokemon are like that Ron shouldn’t have any trouble conversing with them)

Tai Sheng Pek Kwar (AKA Monkey Kung Fu): Ron, thanks to exposure to a mystical monkey artifact, is the one true master of Monkey Kung Fu. While he won’t be able to use the more superpowered aspects of the art while in the Pokemon World, my personal headcanon is that, despite the come-and-go nature of them prior to Graduation, the knowledge of how to use Monkey Kung Fu was always there, just usually behind mental blocks created by his underachiever status until he REALLY needed them. He’s since gotten past those blocks, and will be able to use the normal fighting-style.

Machine Destruction: No mad scientist invention has been able to stand up to Ron and live to tell the tale This isn’t because of any particular mechanical aptitude, only that Ron is really good at making them badly malfunction.

Creative ability: His cooking ability is of course part of this, but it also extends to songwriting (He and Rufus co-wrote Say The Word, the Naked Mole Rap, and the Team Possible theme song in-universe), camp-based arts and crafts. (Dude is a lanyard making beast), and mask-making (His are creepily realistic at times)

WEAKNESSES

Most of Ron’s actual weaknesses are personality weaknesses (which I’ve already gone through) rather than physical weaknesses, but I’ll go into what I can here

Clumsiness: While his time as a running back and the unlocking of his MMP have done wonders in improving his sense of balance, he’s still pretty clumsy when he’s not focused. And since he still has an amount of trouble with focusing, it still comes into play.

Education: While he showed marked improvement in senior year (Garnering two A+’s) he also failed at least one assignment (Although despite getting most of his flour bag babies destroyed he took extremely good care of Hana) and likely had other issues as well. Though he did graduate, it likely wasn’t with honors and he likely won’t be valedictorian if and when he gets into college. Admitted, despite his early slacking off, his issues with school aren’t entirely his fault, as his type of intelligence generally lends itself to more creative outputs as opposed to rote memorization.

Pants-loss: While it’s going to be less prevalent than in the TV Show, thanks to the titanium reinforced belt Kim gave him for his halfiversary, he may at times forget to wear it, result in somewhat embarrassing pants-loss.

[There is a blonde, freckled boy on the communicator, with a red mark on his face that makes it look like someone with small hands had recently smacked him]

Yeah, so, naked mole rat that’s been my badical buddy for years for a Chimchar
that I’ve never met that just slapped me? Not exactly a one-to-one tradeoff.

[There’s the slightly irritated mutterings of a Chimchar off screen]

Yes I know I was freaking out, and I’m sure you’re a perfectly nice Chimchar, but Rufus is important to me.

[More irritated Chimchar noises]

It’s not that you’re not important too, it’s just that-I should probably stop before I completely devour my foot here, huh?

[An affirmative noise]

Okay, so, if anyone’s seen an awesome, buttkicking, world-saving cheerleader or a naked mole rat, couldja tell me where they are? Kinda, y’know, superimportant I find ‘em.

Third Person Sample: That wasn’t his alarm clock that had gone off earlier, and this wasn’t his bedroom, and he had no idea who the lady that had shoved a bunch of stuff, including some kind of monkey, into his arms was.

“Come on son, it’s time to go.”

“Yeah, 1, you are so not my mom, and 2, can’t you let a guy get his bearings first before shovin’ him out the door?” Ron said, still trying to keep himself from being pushed out into whatever mysterious place was beyond it.

“You don’t want to be late for the start of your Pokemon journey.”

“What journey?! No one told me about any journey!”

“This is our way of telling you.”

Ron grumbled. “Yeah, hmm, points for the impression, but you’re still not my mom.” No response to this would come, as Ron was finally shoved out the door, with it slamming behind them.

“Sp, yeah, that was about a 10.0 on the weirdness scale. Don’t suppose you got any explanations for me, huh pal?” The Chimchar shook his head.

“Didn’t think so.” Ron said resignedly, beofre tapping at one of his pockets “Rufus, you-”

There was a distinct lack of naked mole rat in that pocket. Panicking, Ron turned all of his pockets inside out, and then ripped into the backpack, upending it.

“Okay dude, don’t panic. Sure, there’s no KP in sight, no Rufus, and you’re in a place you’ve never seen before. No reason to freak out, right?” He said, starting to hyperventilate.

“This is not good. This is so not good it goes straight to really really bad.“ He grabbed Chimchar’s shoulders, shaking the fire-type. “What do I do? WHAT DO I DO?!”

This was about the point where Chimchar slapped him.

Canon Resource Links: Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwight_Schrute Quotes: http://www.tylertarver.com/2011/03/04/top-20-dwight-schrute-quotes/

Personality: If you envision the personality and personal life of someone who is a salesman at a mid-size paper company in the modern USA, you would probably expect a very average, boring, monotonous lifestyle of one who just works for the weekend and, at best, tolerates their boss. These traits are 100% false in the case of Dwight Kurt Schrute. Dwight Schrute is a man that is a grand exception from the title he holds within his canon. He holds a high level of Loyalty to the company he works for and his boss, Michael Scott. An example of his loyalty is the time he allows Michael to use his urine so he could pass a surprise drug testing that was set up by Dwight himself. Dwight, having been a volunteer deputy sheriff for years, felt guilty and, due to his duty of being loyal to the title, he resigned due to his personal ethics code. He even states in an in-canon interview that he would be willing to change companies should the new company favor loyalty more than where he currently works.

He does hold loyalties to others that are not named Michael, but most of these characters are fictional; such as Jack Bauer of 24.

Another one of Dwight’s major traits is that he is a very Determined and Driven individual, who prides himself on his hard work ethic both at Dunder Mifflin and on his family-run beet farm. He sets very high goals for himself and absolutely will not relent until he achieves his goals; including selling more paper than a computer website that was expected to outperform all previous employees. Despite his general no-nonsense attitude he normally gives his coworkers, he will go through extremely silly, almost childish acts he is talked into and go way beyond the expectations of others until they are finished. In general, due to his loyalty to his superior and no one else, he will almost always follow Michael’s word right at the moment the words roll off his lips. Should he accept the challenge he is presented with, he will not back down until he sees it through; and in some unfortunate circumstances, beyond that.

Despite his general will to duty, he will rarely do anything for anyone else without having an ulterior motive. Time and time again throughout the entire series he attempts to prove to everyone that he is the best. At everything. And time and time again he finds ways to express his “overwhelming superiority” of any others in any way possible. This expresses two of his major flaws: Independence and Self-Centeredness. He rarely displays any desire whatsoever to help others in any way unless he could find a way for them to aid him, unless it is Michael. There are numerous moments in his canon in which he aids one of his coworkers in some form or fashion, just to hold them accountable sometime in the future. In fact, an entire episode consisted of a side story from the main premise in which he and another coworker did good deeds for the other all day in order for the other to owe them one. Silly, but seemingly important to Dwight. As for his independence, it is not that he is unfamiliar with working with others; he does, however, feel that others hold him back from potentially attaining what he could by himself. Also, his independence is highly due to his lack of faith in others. He even mentions believing that one day machines will take over the world and that banks should not be trusted with all your funds.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

Strengths:
 Extremely Loyal (Almost to a fault)
 Knowledge of Survival
 High level of confidence in himself (Rarely feels need for others)
 Adaptable to most circumstances (Carving hunting weapons, use of limited resources, etc. Fits somewhat into Survival)
 Very determined
 Has a great mind for the business world

Weaknesses/Neutral Traits:
 W: “Intelligence” (A large amount of it is flawed)
 W: Self-Centered
 W: Rude and abrasive to those he does not care for
 N: Independent being
 N: Lots of experience with weapons; very likely he would be caught making a hand-crafted weapon at some point in time. (Would make a fun plot…!)

Listen here, idiots! Don’t think that I haven’t noticed that this place does NOT hold to a level of professionalism in its businesses! Proof? Take the PokéMart in Ecruteak City. I ask for a survival knife, a blow gun, and a bow, I can make my own arrows, yet all I’m given is a couple of balls, some “medicinal” sprays, and a doll that will “protect my Pokémon!" When it comes to business, the customer comes first always! It’s a joke, who gives a desperate man a doll rather than a means of defense… Well now that I’m here, I am going to sucker punch this business to ground!

[He brushes his hair and slowly walks into the Goldenrod Department Store, toward the front counter.]

This is how you make an application. Good day receptionist. Dwight K. Schrute is my name, and I am interested in a temporary job here, preferably in the sales department. I have a long list of pros on my résumé but let me just list off the important ones verbally. Dwight Kurt Schrute is as follows: Determined. Worker. Intense. Good Worker. Hard Worker. Terrific. Any Questions?

[The receptionist just stares back at him blankly, wondering exactly what he’s been blabbering talking about.] …could you repeat that, sir?

[He shrugs] Pathetic. Fine. I will take my business elsewhere. Your company will rue the day it turned an eye to Dwight Danger Schrute.

[Dwight storms out of the store without looking back.] Well that did not go as planned. Oh well, their loss. At least this will give me more time to bond with Cerberus, my partner. Apparently called a Houndour. I think I was given the dog of the devil when I arrived; I couldn’t have asked for more…well, maybe I could have asked to not get all of my knives taken away…or to not get arrested for making my own…

Third Person Sample:

Soothing music filled the ears of Dwight as he slowly stirred from the floor in which he laid. He must have fallen out of the bed in the middle of the night somehow. He found it a bit strange that the floor in the room seemed to be a bit…softer than what he was accustomed to. Wait, there was carpet…he did not have carpet in his house, he lived in a house with wooden floors…and this music was not familiar…
“Wake up hon! It’s time to get up and start your journey!”

Dwight jumps to his feet and immediately begins surveying his surroundings. He wasn’t in his house! How did he get here? Where is this place?
”It has happened…I have been taken to the future. [He opens the door] Dear Woman! Do not be alarmed, I will not hurt you.
He did not hear a reply for a few moments, so he began venturing out of the bedroom. He slowly stepped into the kitchen and saw woman, maybe in her mid-thirties, running about the room. He could not help but take a fancy for her, though he rarely falls for this spell at first sight.

“Good day, I have a few questions to ask: first and fore-“

“No Time! You need to head on over to Professor Oak’s place right now! He has you Pokémon!” She proceeded to pile numerous items into Dwight’s arms and shove him toward the door. She was much more powerful than he could have ever expected. Is she a robot? Cyborg?

“Stop! Tell me, are you a-“

SLAM!

The door closed with a large amount of force and clicked.

“Damn, locked. No matter, I just need to take a few steps and back and barge through the door, just as us Schrute boys have been taught!” He takes about 30 paces away from the door and he prepares himself. He then, suddenly, begins charging toward the door. ”AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!”SLAM!

The door did not budge at all. He collapsed to the ground in defeat. “Ah! My arm! I can’t feel it!”

He sat against the steel-like door and thought long and hard of his next course of action. Being unable to face the woman again, he needed a new goal to try and reach.

Professor Oak…Pokémon…journey…what is all of this nonsense…and she was so powerful, like the Hulk. That’s it! This is the future and it should be possible that I can make a real life Hulk! I just need to meet with this Professor I was just told about and talk him into helping me create the Hulk! Then…I will come up with a good enough reason to do this as I look for the Professor!”

He jumps up in excitement and in his emotion-filled state, he sprints off in the opposite direction if the lab in search for the professor.

Character
Name: Raven
Series: Rune Factory 3
Timeline: Post-Unity Festival, pre-final boss
Canon Resource Links: RF3 wikia entry

Personality: Outwardly cold and taciturn, Raven does not take well to meeting new people, talking to strangers, or making friends. She isn’t loud or brash, or given to fits of the dramatic. What she is, though, is a lot of cold shoulders, scathing looks, and judgment-by-first-impression. She is impatient with slow customers or loiterers, and firm in the running of the ‘shopping’ part of the weapon shop, an attitude that carries over into her social interactions outside of work. Her stubbornness and tendency to dismiss most people as irritating has led to some strained relations in the past between her and other villagers; those who do manage to earn her friendship are willing to work to get beyond that icy exterior.

Or they’re just equally as odd as she is.

All of this scorn is a mask. Beneath it lives a lonely, broken person, who feels she is responsible for the disappearance of someone dear to her and therefore destined for a life of being alone and sad. She calls herself cursed, and fears that the curse will extend to anyone who gets close to her. Underneath that layer, the one that blames herself and feels responsible for all of the bad things that happen to everyone, is someone who wants to belong and be welcomed. The half-breed monster thing doesn’t really help matters. The villagers of Sharance are loath to accept any non-human companionship (though they seem friendly enough with Gaius, dwarves are closer to human than monsters are), and so she keeps her beautiful bird form a secret.

If you gain her trust and muted affection, though, you are in a small and privileged club and you’ll meet her equally snide sense of humor. Sofia and Karina are almost-friends – the three of them wander the village together during festivals – and Gaius is the closest thing she has to a family. The affection she displays for each is different, but there is a shared note of pleased companionship in each of those relationships. Gaius, in particular, gets the verbal equivalent of a head pat whenever he overworks himself or falls asleep at his forge because he put down his hammer. After meeting and getting to know Micah she softened a great deal toward him, and a little bit toward the other villagers as well; she smiles at him when he enters the shop and she feels a connection through their shared half-monster status.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

Strengths
One of her biggest strengths in-canon is her half-monster lineage: Raven has a second form that is essentially a large phoenix, capable of flight, carrying the weight of a person at least the size of Micah, and launching powerful fire magic attacks in addition to the physical reach of beak and claws. She’s reluctant to show this side of herself but will do so in a fight if it means she wins it, and even then, largely just in front of people who know that little secret. (Going by game sprites, her phoenix form is about one and a half times her human size– with a wingspan far larger than that, like most birds of prey.) She’s also a relatively strong fighter in her human form, able to handle a large broadsword from the start of the game and with quite the potential for improvement. Fire magic is in her repertoire in this form as well, and she has a natural resistance to fire magic thanks to her nature.

In addition to her fighting skills, Raven is an excellent accessory maker, creating rings, pendants, and other forms of jewelry out of raw metal and uncut crystals (and some other monster parts...). While she isn’t given the forging attention in-game that her counterpart Gaius is, making accessories is something she likes to do and judging by the price of them she is great at it.

Raven’s ability to present a hardened face to the world can be an asset, as it keeps her from forming some attachments that could be a hindrance, some day; her competitive nature and desire to be the best at what she attempts (crafting, festivals) drive her forward in pursuit of different goals. Also, when the people she cares about are in trouble - sick, or hurt, or falling to their deaths from an impossible height - she will go to great lengths to help them, working to do whatever it takes even though doing that completely undermines her stoic front. Taken together, these traits exemplify her greater dedication to

Weaknesses
Despite her skill with her chosen weapon and her monster form, Raven’s unwillingness to reveal these things to most people holds her back. She prefers to keep herself to herself instead opening up and potentially leaving herself vulnerable – and that is where much of her vulnerability lies. Being standoffish and short with people is a defense mechanism against forming bonds with them. It does not solve or heal or banish the loneliness and emptiness in her heart. It amplifies it, actually, creating even more bitterness and stone walls.

While she isn’t stupid, she’s not on the genius end of the spectrum either, and combined with her closed-off tendencies this has left her behind emotionally. When faced with “good” emotional experiences like friendship, a crush, or kindness, she’s embarrassed and unsure of herself. At one point she withdraws so far into her own insecurities about getting close to people that she refuses to speak to Micah at all, because he had crossed the line into friendship territory.

Raven is also afraid of ghosts and things pertaining to the dead, particularly bones and skulls. Things that go bump in the night are not her friends; she will go to great lengths to avoid encountering anything of that nature, and one of her bulletin board requests in-game is to send Micah into the desert to get her a monster skull – an item whose name she is reluctant even to say. She has to show him an example instead. The next time the two encounter bones together she’s so shaken by the experience that she freezes, and Micah ends up going over the edge of a desert cliff.

Samples
First Person Sample:
[It begins with a sigh.]

I can’t take you anywhere. [The start of another long-suffering sigh, far too long for someone who has only been in this world for a few hours. In view of the camera is an enthusiastic Swablu on a tabletop, splashing her wings in a puddle before rushing to the far corner to scrub at the edges.] Why are you cleaning? It’s not even our table.

[Swablu does not appear to care. Raven picks up the gear and turns it to address the network properly, despite being uncomfortable with this whole entire thing.]

Mmh...does ‘training’ mean teaching them not to do things like...this in public? She just keeps cleaning.

[And she looks very pleased with herself to have done it, too! Raven makes another uncertain noise as her partner fluffs damp wings and hops up to rest...on top of her head.]

Third Person Sample:
When she first woke up in a strange place, she remembered what had happened to Micah and was grateful that she still knew who she was, what she could do. Hours later she realized that if her memories had disappeared, she would have no real way of knowing, because nobody here knew her.

Now, slogging along this well-traveled route in the rain with a sopping bird perched in her hair, Raven wondered if there wasn’t an easier way out of all of this. She refused to imprison her partner in that ball device despite the weather; in turn, Swablu refused to be wrapped in Raven’s coat for the duration of the shower. Stubborn bird, she thought, pulling the edges of the coat tighter around herself and thinking of Sharance. Of the ability to stay inside almost exclusively on poor-weather days.

Of the way it felt to work a crystal into the design of a pendant to the steady backdrop beat of Gaius’s hammering and humming.

Raven shook her head, almost dislodging her passenger. There was no going back, was there? Everyone said as much. She was here “to become a pokémon trainer”, whatever that was really supposed to mean, and to do it she had to have a monster companion like this one.

It was...kind of nice. Comforting, to a point; terrifying after that. Swablu chirped, a sad and wet sound, and Raven wondered how long it would be before something happened to one or both of them. Before the small blue bird got hurt, or sick, or...or disappeared.

Well. At least she could avert the first two, right? She’d seen only one other person since beginning this walk and, in a world where humans and monsters did indeed get along almost all the time - that’s what it looked like, what it felt like in the town she just left - perhaps a little creativity would go unnoticed. It would be a measure safer than it would ever have been at home. Setting her jaw and telling Swablu to hold on, Raven stopped long enough to transform into her monster form.

Or at least to try.

When nothing happened, the rain and dark clouds were privy to her stunned expression. She tried again, and then a third time; after that, she resumed walking, her feet carrying her despite the shock. It really wasn’t working. She couldn’t become a bird anymore.

Maybe...maybe there was something she could try. Asking people in the next town was out of the question, no one could know what she was, but...but she could think of something. Hopefully. With any luck, any at all, even the very small fraction she tended to have.

Twin Peaks
Harry at the Twin Peaks wiki
Harry at the Wiki wiki
Official bio card

Personality:

(Further elaborations on all of this can be found in the Strengths/Weaknesses section!)

“There's a sort of evil out there. Something very, very strange in these old woods. Call it what you want. A darkness, a presence. It takes many forms but... it’s been out there for as long as anyone can remember. And we've always been here to fight it.”

Harry is a lot of things, but the bulk of his identity is wrapped up in one label: Sheriff. He’s everything a small town like Twin Peaks (ignore the sign; as of the 1990 census, the population is 5,120.1, not 51,201) could want from its head law enforcement officer: vigilance, affability, reliability, and directness. He knows what needs to get done, he knows how to get it done, and he will—nine times out of ten—get it done with time left to relax with a few doughnuts and a nice cup of coffee. It’s rare that something stands in his way for long during an investigation; if there’s an obstacle, he’ll either find his way around it or find his way through it.

He is fiercely protective of Twin Peaks and its inhabitants. This attitude is half born from duty and half born from the fact that he’s a lifelong resident—unless you count the four years he spent up at Washington State College, which he doesn’t, given all the time he spent home on weekends. His dream from childhood was to serve his community; in 1983, he attained the rank of Sheriff. Harry’s loyalty to the town is admirable, though not without its dangers. Once you cross the line with him, it’s tough to get back on his good side. Hank Jennings can tell you an awful lot about that.

He's a down-to-earth kind of guy, practical in his methods but still unique in his approach. He's careful where others might be reckless, patient where others might demand. That may be his small-town mentality speaking. They're all in this together, right? So there's no sense in pushing anyone to the point of alienation. This philosophy of his, as well as his good sense of judgment re: other people, best shines through when looking at the highlighted staff of the Twin Peaks Sheriff Department: Lucy Moran, receptionist, talks too much; Andy Brennan, deputy, a few bullets short of a full around; Tommy "Hawk" Hill, deputy, occasionally annoyingly esoteric. Harry shows, time and again, that he's more than willing to give them all the chance he feels they deserve to prove themselves. Time and again, they do.

The first glance we receive of Harry reveals his sturdy, quiet nature. Instead of panicking and bolting for the door when Pete Martell calls up with the news that he’s discovered a dead body, Harry takes the time to grab his coat, hat, and calmly deliver a number of necessary orders to Lucy before he’s out the door. He shows no signs of rushing until he’s in his truck, at which point he floors it—thus exposing one of the few cracks he does have: his deep sense of personal investment in Twin Peaks. You’d think that such a thing is necessary for someone in Harry’s position, and it sure as hell is, but Harry is a curious mix of stoic (maybe even laid-back) and emotional; sometimes, he doesn’t seem to have the tightest grip on the former.

The last look at Harry before he shows up in Johto shows Sheriff Truman, partner to Special Agent Dale Cooper. Harry’s always been adaptable and accommodating, but there was something about Cooper that made Harry yield (possibly a bit uncharacteristically) to Coop’s expertise almost immediately. Through his work with Agent Cooper, Harry’s best traits have grown even stronger—his sense of perception is more honed, his outlook on things more broad and less rigid, his intuition more reliable. Harry’s grown under Cooper’s guidance, though that probably wasn’t intended (but when Coop’s involved, who the hell knows). On the flipside, Harry’s also a little more jaded, a little more cynical. Through his work with Cooper, Harry has come to realize that the evil presence rumored to lurk in Ghostwood National Forest is less an urban legend that sends chills down one’s spine and more a reality that can kill.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

"Harry, you're all right." – Dale Cooper

+ Lawman → As the sheriff, Harry’s got a number of l337 sk1llz pertaining to the physical. He’s a damn good shot, has a mean right hook (and an equally mean left one), and has a somewhat intimidating physical presence. He’s a big dude: 6’1” and muscled, still the portrait of the quarterback he was in high school. His expertise as a law enforcement officer also includes knowledge of local, state, and national laws (not that those will do him any good), a working knowledge of how to Take Someone Down in a Number of Creative Ways, and an impressive familiarity with firearms.

He knows Twin Peaks like the back of his hand, and even then he’d say he knew Twin Peaks even better than that. He’s an expert on the local flora and fauna, which has—maybe not so surprisingly—served him well in doing his job. As far as the residents go, he’s an expert on them, too, and isn’t above using their own psychology against them if need be. Usually, though, he uses that power For Good—after all, it's part of his job.

Take him out of his element, and that’s another story; it will likely be a while before he’s able to settle in to this big, new world.

+ Bookhouse Boy → Harry is a member of the Bookhouse Boys, a secret society that’s part mens’ club, part vigilante crew. Though membership sometimes calls for Harry to bend the rules—and, sometimes, even outright break the laws he’s meant to enforce—his role as a Bookhouse Boy shows how deep his loyalties lie, and that he is willing to do anything to keep Twin Peaks safe. An-y-thing.

+ Saint → Or patient like one, anyway. It takes some work to get on Harry’s bad side, but the quickest way to get there is to pull an Albert Rosenfield and be a complete and utter jackass. Aside from Albert (and the aforementioned Hank), though, Harry is fairly even-tempered even in the most taxing scenarios involving Rude People. He’s gentle when the situation calls for it, and he seems to recognize those situations immediately and will always react accordingly.

"I’m beginning to feel a bit like Dr. Watson."

+/- Taurus → There seems to be a strong emphasis on astrology placed on the characters within the series. Skeptical though he may be, an analysis of Harry’s birthday rings fairly accurate as far as he’s concerned.

"Normally, if a stranger walked into my police station talking that kind of insulting crap, he'd be looking for his front teeth two blocks away on Queer Street!"

- Skeptic → Though he sheds most of his doubting demeanor after Cooper rolls into town, Harry remains somewhat on-guard when it comes to the mystical. This isn’t something that works in his favor; given the mysterious nature of Twin Peaks, Harry should have been more receptive from the beginning. His skepticism brings along with it a mild sense of flippancy, shadows of indecisiveness, and, most dangerously, hesitance.

- Hothead → Once you’ve flipped Harry’s berserk button, good luck. As stated above, it takes a hell of a lot to piss Harry off to the point of taking action (usually this means someone is going to get a fist to the face, coughAlbertcough), but he can hold a grudge like nobody’s business. If not for Cooper’s vague explanation/dismissal of Albert’s behavior after Albert and Harry almost came to fisticuffs again (“Albert’s path is a strange and difficult one”), Harry likely would have continued disliking Albert a whole hell of a lot. As it stands, Cooper’s explanation was satisfactory, and no grudge exists.

- Lonely soul → It is remarked upon in printed canon that Harry sometimes feels lonely and too-burdened with the responsibilities he has as sheriff. (“I do get lonely from time to time. Sometimes it's hard being the Sheriff. Everyone looks to me for immediate answers and solutions. Unfortunately, it's not always possible.”) He tries hard to be the best he can be at what he does, and he takes it very personally when he fails.

And then there’s Josie. Josie Packard, Harry’s secret beau, makes—or made, rather—him very happy. This is a problem, given his canonpoint—in the episode he’s taken from, it’s revealed that Josie is the one responsible for shooting Agent Cooper and a whole slew of other terrible stuff. Harry is going to feel deeply betrayed by this and will probably have a hard time getting over it. (One episode later, Josie dies, and Harry goes on a slightly heartbreaking rampage.)

For this reason, Harry toes the line between introversion and extroversion. He's really an extrovert with introverted tendencies, the latter of which usually only comes out when he's feeling depressed or unable to process what's going on his head (which can lead to depression, as an inability to figure out what's going on upstairs usually leads to an inability to figure out what's going on around him).

Character
Name: Sakura Kinomoto
Series: CardCaptor Sakura
Timeline: Mid-chapter 50
Canon Resource Links: Wikia!

Personality: Sakura is your average eleven year-old girl if you ignore her magical girl powers.

She’s an open book, easy to read and easy to understand. Her feelings are loud and clear in her expressions, and she never tries to hide them. This means that she has difficulties when it comes to lying. In spite of this, she is very good at keeping secrets for people. You’ll never find her telling somebody else something you’ve told her in confidence. This is made clear when she finds out that her friend is seeing their teacher, and when she finds out that Yukito is in love with her brother. Those things aren’t hers to tell, and she’ll keep true to her word, making her very trustworthy. Making and keeping friends is an easy thing for her, which is obvious with all the friends she has and makes throughout canon. Even Syaoran, who started out the series hating her, turned into a close friend. People are drawn to her because of her cheerfulness and charm. She’s very outgoing, and you’ll rarely catch her being shy. When she had a crush on Yukito, she was always giving him presents and leaping for opportunities to talk to him and hang out with him. She’s very optimistic, always looking on the bright side of things. She has an invincible phrase that she uses whenever she’s in trouble or feeling helpless. “Everything will surely be alright.”

Cheerleading and track are her fortes, but Sakura is very good at any sport you throw at her. Give her enough time to learn the rules and get the hang of it, and she’ll give you a run for your money. She even rollerblades to school instead of taking a bus or being driven. Her athleticism is often shown through her energetic personality. She’s always full of life and has a certain bounce to her step. Despite the fact that she’s athletic, though, she’s also very clumsy. She often trips or drops things. Even in cheerleading practice, her clumsiness shows through when she doesn’t catch her baton and it lands on her head. This can also be chalked up to her not paying attention and getting distracted.

When Sakura was little, her brother would describe the ghosts he was able to see, saying things about them having one eye or a missing hand. Even though she, herself, couldn’t see these ghosts, she was frightened of them. Her fear of ghosts is still with her today, yet the spirits of her magical cards don’t scare her. We find this out when she mistakes a card, The Illusion, for a ghost. The experiences with her brother, along with her friendships with Eriol and Mizuki (both of whom Syaoran told her were bad news) have shown us that she’s very trusting. She often believes anything that people tell her without stopping to think it through. This has been known to get her into trouble.

Sakura’s very dense when it comes to matters in her own personal life. She never realizes that Tomoyo is in love with her, even when Tomoyo says it to Sakura herself. Sakura just replies with “I love you, too!” because she’s under the impression that Tomoyo means it platonically. When it comes to her feelings toward Syaoran, she ended up needing her friends’ guidance to sort out her feelings. On the other hand, she’s pretty perceptive when it comes to other people. She can tell when someone’s upset or worried, or when they might need someone to talk to. And there’s no doubt that she’ll offer to be their shoulder to lean on. She’s also a very naive girl, and often fails to see the bad in the world. She thinks there’s good in everyone, even if it takes a bit of work and reaching to get to it.

Her first visit to Johto taught her a few valuable things. One, ghosts and monsters aren’t always scary. This doesn’t mean she won’t scream and run the other direction when she sees them, but it does mean that she can hold a conversation with Jack Skellington without dissolving into tears. Second, family doesn’t always have to be blood related. Even though she spent her time in Johto without her father, Other Father was there to take up the role.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Star power. While this doesn’t carry over to Route, Sakura started out the series borrowing the moon and sun powers from Clow Reed. Then she gained her own magic through the powers of the stars.
+ Optimistic. Sakura won’t give up, even when things seem hopeless. She believes there is always a way, and she’ll stick with that sentiment to the very end.
+ Endurance. Through athletic ability and sheer willpower, Sakura doesn’t get tired easily. It takes quite a bit to wear her out.
+ Experience. Because of her history as a Cardcaptor, she has experience with fighting for her own and her loved ones’ lives, as well as experience with dangerous situations.

- Clueless. Not only is she rather dense in general, but at the beginning of the series, she had a hard time with her magical powers. It took a lot of practice and coaching from her magical animal companion, Kero, to learn how to use her staff. Even near the end, she relied on Kero a lot when it came to information about the cards.
- Math. Sakura isn’t very good at math, nor does she like it. Hopefully, this shouldn’t cause too much of a problem for her in Johto.
- Clumsy. Sakura is often clumsy at the worst of times. She usually drops things and trips on a regular basis, but it gets worse when she’s pressed for time and under pressure.
- Inexperience. Since she’s just a young girl, she doesn’t have the life experiences that some older people would have.

First Person Sample: [ The feed comes on to show Sakura. Her smile is bright and excited, per usual. She seems to be sitting on a bench with a Skitty in her lap. Behind her, people walk to and fro briskly and children chase each other back and forth. ]

I’m back! [ The words are accented with a giggle, and she even wiggles in her seat a little. ] I’m so happy to be back! Who’s still here? Miyuki-chan? Yagyuu-san? Other Father?

[ Now, she glances around, her 100 watt smile not dimming the slightest when she shivers. It’s colder now than it had been when she left, and she’s not really dressed well for the whether. ] Everything still looks the same as it did. Has anything changed? It’s winter now. How much time has passed?

[ She suddenly looks worried, chewing on the inside of her lip. ]

Well. I’m going to start the journey to Cherrygrove. I hope to hear from everyone soon!

[ And with one last smile, the feed goes black. ]

Third Person Sample: The wind shakes the tent, and cold air seeps through the seams. There’s a permanent chill in the tent. No matter how many layers of clothes Sakura puts on, or how many sleeping bags she buries herself under, she can’t seem to get warm. She really had thought she’d get to the next town before nightfall, but because of a wrong turn and her Skitty’s straying attention and constant detours, it would be another night of cold and another day of long walking before they got there.

Sakura’s less bothered by the extra day of travel and more bothered by the fact that she’s been constantly shivering for the past half hour. She lifts up her pile of sleeping bags and peers under. Her Skitty is sound asleep curled next to her stomach. At least somebody’s warm enough to get some sleep. After a moment, Sakura pushes herself farther down into the sleeping bag so that even her head is covered. It’s a little warmer this way.

From somewhere outside the tent, a twig snaps. Sakura stills briefly before the shivers start up again. Are there ghost pokémon around here? Did she remember to zip the tent up all the way?

“Skitty,” she whispers, but the Skitty doesn’t even stir. Leaves rustle from right outside the tent, moving all the way up to the front of it. Sakura peeks out from her nest of blankets tentatively. Taking a deep breath, she crawls out from underneath the sleeping bags and pulls on the zipper.

She almost screams when a Buneary jumps in. Once she recognizes that it is not, in fact, a scary ghost pokémon about to eat her face off (and she has to blame her brother for that description), she relaxes a little. The Buneary looks at Sakura with big eyes. Like her, it’s shaking from the cold.

“Oh,” Sakura says quietly. “You’re cold, too?” She moves back to her blanket nest and crawls underneath. Her Skitty meows softly, having finally been roused awake. “We have company. Scoot over.”

Skitty doesn’t look impressed. However, she does move further down in the sleeping bag. Sakura lifts the edge of it. “Come on, then. Get inside.”

The Buneary sniffs the air, then hops over. It snuggles right into the pile, curling up right next to Skitty, who shifts grumpily, but doesn’t complain. Sakura settles in again, pulling the covers over her head.

Finally, Sakura manages to drift to sleep when the Buneary warms up and begins to give off body heat. When she wakes up, she finds that two more smaller Buneary have wormed their way in the tent where she neglected to close it, and they’ve made themselves warm with the other one near the bottom of the sleeping bag. Sakura smiles and slides out carefully to begin cooking breakfast. At least they were all warm last night.

Canon Resource Links: http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Tavros_Nitram and http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/HomestuckTrollsOne

Personality:
Born among eleven other trolls from their decadent race, Tavros Nitram stands out from the group with his mostly innocent and transparent behavior which highly contrasts to what is expected from an Alternian Troll, even from his blood color. That, and the legendary stories of his Ancestor (The Summoner) cause mixed reactions among his acquaintances: From love and pity to disappointment and hatred, either of which would haunt and affect his life and afterlife to variable and extreme levels.

Raised by his lusus Tinkerbull, Tavros was mostly spared from the overbearing, harsh and violent reality the other trolls were subjected to early in life, resulting in the sensitivity, friendliness and naivety he would carry throughout his life even when faced with the chaos ahead of him, experiencing everything he had been spared from two or three-times fold. Such experiences would leave their mark in the form of a low self-esteem and irresolution to the point where despite his natural impulsiveness and energy, he heavily relies on the aid and guidance of his friends in order to accomplish almost any goal, thus becoming a burden for the team.

In spite of the much time and effort dedicated by friends like Karkat and Gamzee into helping him overcome his shortcomings, nothing affected him with the same intensity and effectiveness as his relationship with Vriska Serket, descendant of his Ancestor's mate (Mindfang): A complicated acquaintanceship of constant vacillation between love and hatred, entailed with loads of mind games, that would help him take his first and defining steps toward maturity, confidence and resolution though at the cost of many traumatic experiences, his lower-body and later, his very life.

Some time after reaching the afterlife in the Dream Bubbles, Tavros would begin a journey of insight and introspectiveness through revisiting his memories and meeting his incarnations from other timelines. But it would take an unexpected "help" from Gamzee Makara (by merging his body and mind with Vriska's into a sprite through a short-lived prototyping) to make him fully come in terms with himself and work out his flaws. As a result, the current Tavros Nitram is more confident and active, more in par with the traits fit of a Troll. But in the end this newly acquired self-esteem and maturity does not rid himself of his defining youthful characteristics such as his impetuosity.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Among the Troll Society in both Beforus and Alternia, the Nitrams are well known for a wing mutation some of their descendants undergo (Wings of which a Troll can only obtain through "God-Tiering") and two distinct and powerful abilities: Control over the air as a Hero Of Breath (Requiring their entrance in a Sburb/Sgurb Session) and the power to psychically interact with and manipulate an infinite diversity of wild creatures for whatever purpose and length. Of these 3 so far, Tavros only possesses the control over animals... As a Troll, that is.

As a human, Tavros relies more on his knowledge and experience with wild creatures, both of which are originated from this power he had as a Troll and his skills in a game of similar traits to Pokemon called "Fiduspawn". Such knowledge and experience combined with his charismatic character gives him an upper hand in understanding and taming pokemons, especially if to create a bond with them whatever the purpose is, capturing for himself or aiding in any way possible. Other than that, Tavros doesn't offer much else than any other person. In fact, one could say it only goes downhill from there...

Despite his recently found confidence and bravado, Tavros hasn't lost much of his clumsiness and cowardice. Faced with hostility and intimidation, from a Pokemon or a person, he may flinch and/or do anything to hide his fear recklessly and failing horribly at it. Same goes if he's the one to taunt and intimidate, being unable to effectively hide, bluff or threaten anything and anyone half the time. With that said, it should be obvious that when it comes to any kind of mind games he's still an easy prey and victim.

"wELL,,,"
Tavros strokes his mohawk as he faces his reflection through the mirror once more in an attempt to accept his new look for what it is, now much more calm and less confused about the situation. Pink skin, no horns, no sharp teeth... Just a brand new human figure with some traits yet intact from his original Troll form such as the hair and the height. And his clothes for reasons just as obscure and head-achingly confusing as those that brought him from the Dream Bubbles to this place plus turning him human in the process. "uGH," he mutters as the confusion reminds him and almost matches that of the day when he was prototyped with Vriska just as out of nowhere. Though that thought alone brings him a more bitter realization...

"vRISKA,,, gONE, aND JUST AS I,,,"
Sadness strikes him as he not only misses her dearly but also notices how much of a bad moment it was for him to leave the bubbles: In the middle of her master plan and quest through the bubbles, in a dangerous and compelling adventure through the afterlife much like both of them always wished for.

"but, mAYBE, sHE HAS BEEN BROUGHT AS WELL, uH, jUST, sOME PLACE ELSE," Tavros wonders. "tHE DOC OUT THERE, hE SAID HE'S SEEN SOME GUYS, KINDA, DRESSED AROUND LIKE ME,,, wHAT IF, iT IS EVERYONE ELSE BEING BROUGHT HERE AS WELL,"

His left hand clenches and his body follows by stiffening up into a fighting pose in a moment of determination. "mAYBE I SHOULD GO AFTER THEM, oR,,, nO, i MUST GO," his tone rises with each phrase as he turns to his gear, taking the facts as they are and setting his goals up. With a new life, a new start and a new land ahead of him, Tavros feels rather confident about the future.

Summary of Clannad
Summary of Clannad After Story
The Illusionary World
Ushio

TL;DR:
Ushio is being taken from the point where she collapses, shortly before her death in the episode Small Palms. Above gives you a summary of the events of Clannad, as well as info on the Illusionary World and herself. MAJOR SPOILERS in the links, obviously. Okay, the fact that the girl is Ushio is a spoiler in itself, but her last name won't be revealed in game. She died feeling sorry for leaving her father all alone and was reborn in an alternate world without her memories.

Personality: Ushio is very curious in nature, having been the only person existing in the Illusionary World. As she has no memories of her past in the real world, she constantly wonders what it is like outside of that cold, lonely world. Even though she can't remember why she's there, she lives on and makes things out of junk. Once she has her junk friend, she asks him many questions as to what he could remember. Although he didn't remember much, it seemed to give her hope that there was a better world out there.

Although she never really admits it, she seems quite lonely. Once her father's presence inhabited the junk body she made for him, she was much happier having someone else to talk to and just to have around, even if she couldn't hear him. Once she had this new friend, she feared losing him, warning him not to wander too far off and even begging for him to stay when he goes to leave as winter starts. She even leaves the building to follow him, knowing that she wouldn't be able to return. It was better to be with him until the end rather than being truly alone once more. Although she seems hopeful, there is some underlying despair that starts to show as winter comes closer. She knows that once it gets too cold, she won't be able to continue on anymore.

For being so young, Ushio shows an alarming sense of maturity, able to live and survive on her own as well as not giving in to despair. She also has a very creative mind and creates toys and such out of nothing but junk parts, something to occupy her time. She has a desire to help others, even if there was only one other 'person' in the world with her. She even tried to make another friend for him, even if it was impossible to give it life. After her failure, she was still full of sorrow, but her friend encouraged her to continue on and try to escape this world.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+Mature. For being so young, she's very mature mentally.
+Creative. She can build just about anything out of junk parts.
+Friendly. Having been alone, Ushio will be thrilled to have more people around.
+Very curious. Always willing to learn more.
+Always there to lend a helping hand.

-Afraid of being alone.
-Somewhat clingy.
-Likely to question you to death.
-Physically frail.

[Ushio manages to turn on the video function of the pokégear, both her and a Golett looking at it curiously from either side.]

I think it's on.

[She pauses for a moment before speaking again. The Golett makes a curious sound and turns to look at her.]

There's so many people here. And animals too.

It's nice.

[She smiles a bit at the screen. She's obviously at least somewhat pleased by this turn of events.]

Could anyone tell me a bit more about this place?

Third Person Sample:
Ushio found herself sitting under a tree at the edge of town. Having been rushed out of the strange house without having any time to ask questions, she found herself overwhelmed by her new surroundings. There were several buildings, there were birds chirping, but most of all, there were people. There were really other people. She thought back to her junk friend back in that other world. Was this the world he had been trying to tell her about? She looked down at the ground for a moment. What happened to him? Was he alright? She hoped so. She'd go ask some of the people around the town questions, but she needed a bit of time to adjust.

Moments later, she was sifting through the backpack the woman in the house had handed her before shooing her out the door. There was a bunch of useful stuff in there. But what caught her attention most was the strange device and the red & white ball. She looked over the pokégear for a moment, before deciding to figure it out later. And so her attention turned to the pokéball. She picked it up and rolled it around in her hand. Pressing the button in its center, it suddenly expanded, sparking her curiosity. How did it do that? Then suddenly it opened and a red light shot out, before forming into a strange robotic looking creature in front of her. A Golett.

She shrank back a bit, somewhat startled, but after a moment she leaned forward and watched it. It almost looked like her friend. But it couldn't be, could it?

"Are you...?"

She began to ask it if it was her friend. It tilted its head and made a confused sound. Ushio shook her head, realizing it couldn't be. Her friend didn't have a voice. He wasn't here with her, but she wasn't alone either. She was glad for that fact, and she hoped her friend had managed to find his way back to the world he had come from. Realizing the Golett was still watching her, she looked back at it and smiled.

"Would you like to be my friend?"

The pokémon made a pleased noise in response. She leaned forward and hugged her new friend.

Character
Name: "Mom" Lalonde
Series: Homestuck
Timeline: After her death
Canon Resource Links: Mom | Homestuck

Personality: Mom is a cool as a cucumber kind of woman. Whatever strangeness life throws at her, she somehow manages to take it in stride while casually sipping a stronger-than-usual martini. Nothing really fazes this woman or puts a damper on her spirits. Considering the strangeness of Sburb and the trippy as fuck planet she gets landed on, one would think that she might freak out a little or quit alcohol then and there. Nope! Mom just rolls up her sleeves and goes out to kick ass and take names. She doesn't even bat an eyelash at the monsters, which range from about the height of her daughter to maybe three or more stories.

A fairly important thing to mention about this Lalonde is that she's very much an alcoholic. Despite this constant state of inebriation, Mom seems to be able to function around the house pretty well. Sure, she sometimes mops the floor and forgets to put water in the bucket, and sure, bronzing a vacuum cleaner her daughter gives her for a Mother's Day present can be seen as...odd. But she's not seen stumbling about, having amazing dexterity for someone as thoroughly intoxicated as she is. Mom can even get a bulls-eye with a rifle without much trouble. Really, all she does is make one worry at what she can do when she's sober! However, after years of alcohol consumption, she most likely has a high tolerance for it regardless.

It should be mentioned that Mom is very much devoted to her daughter. At the beginning, Rose insists that Mom does things to be ironic or to show her up or be passive-aggressive about whatever interests she has. Granted, all three Lalondes are shown to have a passive-aggressive temper up to a certain point, and Mom might intentionally encourage this tendency. It might also be a way to tease Rose by being as ludicrous about it as possible, such as putting a pillow under a note Rose left her just because the bottom part of it was touching the floor. However, she's really more...over-the-top about her affection towards her daughter. An example of this is when she puts Rose's picture and poem about Jaspers the cat in a $15,000 frame and welds it to the top of the refrigerator. It's one way to immortalize your child's gradeschool drawings, right? Another example is when she gives into her daughter's request for a funeral for their dead cat, Jaspers, and even makes a coffin for him. Still, it's pretty clear that Mom loves Rose a lot, even if she might not be the best parent in the world. This is essentially why she travels around Sburb as she does. She's driven by the desire to protect Rose and do what's best for her, even if it ends in her death. She's loved her daughter ever since Rose crash landed on a meteor right in front of her, and it's never going to change.

Mom is also a highly intelligent character. At least, this is what we can infer considering she has a laboratory right next door to her house full of complicated gadgetry. She might even sleep there on occasion, if the very girly pseudo-room set-up is anything to go by. Seriously, she has a bed, a dresser, and a table for tea parties complete with a pink tea set in that lab. Another testament to her intelligence is the fact that she owns, and presumably created, a four-eyed mutant kitten, lovingly called Vodka Mutini by Rose. It should also be pointed out that her outfit looks like something that one would find on a mad scientist. In addition to her intelligence, Mom's also pretty observant and adaptable to the needs of a given situation. For example, she made sure to keep one of her wireless channels open for Rose to connect to the internet, and therefore back to Sburb to help out John. There's also an unlocked generator-like thing in the lab for Rose to conveniently plug her laptop in to keep the battery alive.

There are two flaws, other than her alcoholism, that really stand out. One is that she might be a bit absent-minded. There are two or three instances of this observed in canon. One is that Mom has left out quite a few bottles of alcohol scattered around the kitchen counter once, and also one of her own mixed martinis. Another is when she starts mopping the kitchen floor...but there's no water in the bucket. Sometimes, it's better to not ask and let her do what she wants to do. The other flaw is something that Rose has stated, granted she was intoxicated herself at the time. Mom is a single, lonely parent raising a daughter all on her own in the middle of the woods, essentially, and it's speculated that this might have been what drove her to drink in the first place. She feels alone, especially while her daughter is being a rebellious teenager, and the alcohol lessens this loneliness for her. This may also be why she romantically connects so readily to Dad Egbert practically from the moment they caught each other's eye. One lonely, single parent to another.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

STRENGTHS
*Physically strong (she's punched a cyclops in the face) and gun knowhow
*Intelligent
*Loving to her daughter, if over the top about it (bronzing a VACUUM CLEANER, srsly?)

NEUTRAL
*High tolerance for alcohol
*Adores cats of all kinds
*Collects wizards

WEAKNESSES
*Lonely single mom
*Alcoholic
*Her daughter Rosie Posie

[At first, there's an up close and personal view of a Snivy, curiously fiddling with the Pokegear. A woman calls and the grass-type drops it to go scampering off toward the source. A moment later, Mom Lalonde picks it up.]

Excuse her. Curiosity and mischief bundled into one creature seems to be a combination that yields...interesting results. One of them being the theft of communication devices.

[She shrugs, not really bothered by this. Actually, she looks amused by it.]

That being said, where am I? Not to be ungrateful for another chance at life, but this isn't quite what I expected to end up in.

[The Snivy climbs up onto Mom's shoulder, glancing haughtily at the 'gear.]

Though, the creatures we were given are pretty cute, I have to say. Wherever this is, it's not so bad.

[It can be a hell of a lot worse, anyway.]

Third Person Sample:

She didn't like to think about her death very much. Not only was it awfully painful and ripped her out of Rose's life, but it had ruined a perfectly good date with a very handsome gentleman. So, Mom avoided such thoughts as much as she could, and during the day she succeeded about 99% of the time. There were a million things to do in Johto, not the least of which was training her adorable Pokemon. At night, that success rate dropped to about 50%.

Sometimes it came to her in a particularly gruesome night terror, and upon waking up would immediately check to make sure there was no wound, no blood, that her heart was still beating. She'd never be able to get back to sleep until some hours later, and, sadly, it was the only time in which the alcohol did nothing to help her steer clear of the inevitable questions that plagued her. Did she do right for Rose? Was her death enough to help her daughter? Was there more she could have taught her?

This was one such night, much to Mom's distinct displeasure. She got up, threw on a clean set of clothes, and was surprised to see her Snivy waiting for her at the door leading out of her room. After a moment of staring at each other, the woman shrugged and picked the little one up, cuddling her close as she left the room. Mom glanced briefly at the clock. Six in the morning wasn't as bad as it could have been. Maybe an early breakfast and a walk around Violet City would help clear her head.

Idly, she considered texting Rose, but discarded the idea for now. The girl wouldn't be up for a while, as she doubted most of the teenagers running around the Pokemon world would ever be up at that time of the day. Really, what kind of mad person would be out at six in the morning in December?

"Well, maybe I can get my Christmas shopping done early for once," she mused aloud, somewhat startling her Snivy, "That's always been therapeutic in the past."

Mom grinned as she strode out to find a breakfast place with new purpose. Those dark thoughts were going to be banished from her mind for Christmas no matter what, damn it!

Name: Spain; Antonio Hernandez Carrieda
Series: Axis Powers Hetalia
Timeline: Since Hetalia just follows current events, I'll say "present day" as a catch-all.
Canon Resource Links:
Character Info ==> http://hetalia.wikinet.org/wiki/Spain
Country Info ==> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Spain

Personality: At first glance, Spain is just a happy-go-lucky bumpkin with no ability to read the atmosphere. There's nothing wrong with this, because it's completely true of him. As long as there's sunshine, tomatoes and friends, Spain is a constant source of optimism and happiness. He's a very slow-paced person, someone who does whatever he wants, when he wants to and how he wants to. Unfortunately, because of this he can also come off as insensitive, lazy and stubborn.
Spain was not always like this, though. Back in the day, the Spanish Empire was a cruel and surly boy. Those were his teen years; when he searched endlessly for gold and constantly warred with England. In those days he was a spoiled brat, the sort that went out and stole from others, got drunk on a nightly basis, and hung around brothels for lack of the finesse to get dignified women. Normal pirate shenanigans. That part of him hasn't faded away completely; it was ripped apart by England and Netherlands, in addition to the child form of America. Being forced to change and become happier and nicer means that occasionally, he will slip up and lose his temper once again. But with every year that danger recedes a bit more.
Nowadays, Spain is the sort of person who is happy as long as everyone around him is. When his company is too serious, he's prone to randomly breaking out in song or making a joke that is out of place, ruining the mood enough to make everyone lighten up. He doesn't have the real skills needed to cheer others up, but he's so laughably horrible with handling the emotions of others that his attempts often end up cheering them up anyway; he's just impossible to hate for long (although England succeeds with streaming colors). His greatest skill is his knack for silly cheer-up chants, gifts and songs that make it hard for others to stay upset.
Spain is very fiercely loyal to people who he likes. This mostly includes Belgium, North and South Italy, France and Prussia. His other colonies too to some extent, but not as much as to the aforementioned. His love for South Italy is the strongest; during the colony days of Italy, he would continuously bleed both blood and money protecting little South Italy, keeping him safe from everyone else and nearly getting himself killed. This isn't as special as most would think, but it is the most prominent example. If any of the people closest to him are in danger, he doesn't think twice about taking bullets for them.
Spain is very immature when it comes to cute things. Especially turtles and children. He's been accused of pedophilia on several occasions, but he actually doesn't understand the term. Though he did fall in love with South Italy, a child at the time, and ask him to marry him, Spain isn't technically a pedophile. He just doesn't seem to think of age as an issue. Age, gender, sexuality and other such details don't mean much to him, as long as love is involved. And because of that, he tends to miss out on the meaningless sex with citizens that his best friends enjoy. He charms the pants off of women and goes home untouched, waiting instead for the affection of his South Italy.
Though he normally has the patience of a saint, it is very much possible to push Spain to anger. It is hard, something that must be done with true gusto, but possible. When that happens, he completely snaps. He becomes rash, violent, and cynical. He will start out yelling, and hopefully that ends it. But if they continue to annoy him, he will start attacking them. This knows no boundaries; he could strangle his best friend without thinking twice about it. Anything just to quench his anger as fast as possible, because he is terrified of that side of him. He can't retain memories in this state, as it's a recession to his teenage self. Afterward he will feel unspeakably horrible for his actions, but someone will have to explain to him that it happened at all. In this mode, he also becomes confused when seeing grown-up forms of people he knew back then as children, such as the Italies and America. Because of this, only France and Prussia have any real power as far as calming him down before he's run his course; they look the same to him regardless of age.
It is canon that Spain has been madly in love with South Italy for centuries, which started slowly when South Italy first came to live with him and has advanced over the years to full-on head-over-heels infatuation. South Italy has the privilege of bending Spain to his will more than anyone else, because Spain is determined to do absolutely anything to make his precious Romanito happy. Spain is also prone to becoming overly affectionate with South Italy and actually irritating him to the point of physical attacks, although these have little to no effect on Spain's confidence. He is completely sure that South Italy will eventually accept his love, if he waits it out. It is heavily hinted that South Italy does not return his feelings at all, although I'd leave that up to the discretion of his player.
Strengths/Weaknesses: His canon powers include being exceptionally old (currently at least 1602, although he looks 24), inability to die from mortal blows (instead entering a permanent coma until someone can help him or his body heals normal), and the ability to take random Spanish things out of his pockets. The last two will not take effect in-game due to godmoding potential, although the immortality sort of follows the death rules anyway.
His strengths are mostly outstanding happiness, and exceptional physical strength. He can happily wear heavy armor and carry around a large battleaxe over his shoulder without a problem, which is also good for carrying other people around for long distances.
His weaknesses include extreme laziness, as he cannot be awake for more than six hours without a nap, and an inability to deal with strict people or occasions. He's also very bad at math and telling time.

Ah! So that's how you open this! [The gear is currently.. upside-down. Have a happy Spaniard is proud enough of turning it on he doesn't take the time to notice details like that.] Hola! Can someone please tell me where I am? I woke up in a very pretty woman's house, but I don't think I knew her last night... actually, I don't remember drinking last night at all.
[Enter a certain blue turtle, who has decided rooting through Antonio's "belongings" is a great idea.] H-hey! Be careful with that.. that's all we've got to use for a few days! [The Squirtle completely ignores him in favor of eating his lunch. He sighs and turns back to the screen.] Oh well... has anyone seen a boy named Romano? He's this tall [About half a head shorter than the speaker.] he has brown hair and hazel eyes and looks really cute when he blushes. And he has a cute little curl in his hair that looks like this. [He signs it out.] If you can help me find him then I won't need any more help, I promise.
Third Person Sample: The sound of an alarm clock startled him awake, and he rolled over to curl up on the half Roma normally occupied. The problem was, Roma was not there. Neither was the other half of the bed. Instead he hit the floor violently and hit his forehead against the bedside table. He opened his eyes to find a room full of toys that might've belonged to one of Japan's female citizens. All these little creatures, not quite animals but close. Maybe he slept over at a girl's house.
He was answered by the voice of a woman, the owner of which soon followed into the room. She was asking him if he was okay, and with a groggy start he realized she wasn't talking to him in Spanish. Or Japanese. He looked up in confusion, only to be pulled off the floor and almost aggressively handed a change of clothes. It occurred to him that he was currently in a strange woman's bed wearing nothing but his boxers, but what concerned him is that she didn't faze her. She just acted like she was his mother or something.
He didn't have much time to ask her things. She lectured him while he dressed on the virtues of being on time, and how "other people will have claimed all the Pokemon by now!", and somehow she even seemed to know by chance that his name was Antonio. He considered asking how drunk he was last night.
And now she was shoving him out the door, and looked at him as if he was crazy when he asked where he was supposed to go before pointing out some big building that looked like a lab. Oh. Okay. Antonio yawned, deeply regretting his lack of breakfast and that he didn't know the woman's name, and set off toward the building. Maybe they'd tell him what was going on.

Temeraire's wiki page
Official short story from Temeraire's POV, at around the point I'm taking him from

Personality:
Temeraire is a very pleasant sort to talk to, especially considering that he's a dragon. He's generally friendly and well-mannered, unless he has reason to act otherwise: for example, if someone is being very insulting, or threatening the people/dragons he cares about, or being a big bully. He has very straightforwardly told people that he will pick them up off the deck of a ship and toss them in the water if they don't shape up their attitude. But that's about the limit of what he'll even think to do, unless there's an active threat to him or his people. Normally he'd rather talk things out logically, without making threats at all. He's uncommonly generous, to an extent; he's considerably more willing to share things like food than other heavyweight-class dragons, but he's also no pushover about that once he's gotten his social rank established. And he won't share his captain, Laurence, at all; not even letting him ride another dragon on a short hop of a flight. He really likes meeting new people, so long as they're friendly.

He is an exceptionally clever dragon, with a great thirst for new knowledge and experiences. While he isn't able to read books on his own, due to not being able to turn the pages with his claws, Laurence reads aloud to him every night before they go to bed. His favorite book, treated similarly to a comforting bedtime story, is the Principia Mathematica, which definitely says something about his preference in topics. He's very good at problem solving too: for example, he is the only dragon to figure out how to open the gate where the livestock is kept, and even figures out a way for those dragons who are too big to do it. Languages are something that he's kind of a prodigy with; most dragons know one language, while Temeraire hatched being fluent in three. He's also able to pick new languages up with ease whenever he encounters them. Once he's decided that he wants to learn something, he keeps at it until he's got it down. However, he does get frustrated with things that don't come easily to him or are 'boring'. And one thing he really doesn't get is government and politics.

Temeraire is scolded for being 'Jacobin' a good number of times, and Laurence also once makes a joke that he'll be throwing boxes of tea into the harbor. This is because from nearly the beginning, Temeraire hasn't cared much for government. It started small, with him not really understanding the concept of property and why he couldn't just fly where he liked if he wasn't going to hurt anyone or eat anything that belonged to other people. At the canon point I'm taking him from this hasn't yet developed into the full on dragon rights campaign it becomes in later books, but it's definitely moving in that direction. Most laws about dragons don't make a whole lot of sense to him, and he wouldn't be willing to follow them at all except that he doesn't want to upset Laurence; he's of the mind that dragons ought to be able to have some say in Parliament and about the laws that govern them but don't seem to be in their interests at all.

William Laurence is a huge part of Temeraire's life, and the most important individual to him period. Laurence is basically his platonic life partner, and they have a deep emotional bond bordering on codependence. Making Laurence happy is really Temeraire's main motivation at this point in his development, and he is extremely proud and happy to have Laurence as his captain. Any attempts to seperate the two of them have been and will always be met with great unhappiness and anger, and even the idea of losing Laurence makes Temeraire miserable. This is loyalty to a fault; the easiest way for an enemy to control a dragon is to take their captain hostage, and Temeraire is no exception. He is even willing to sacrifice the safety of a number of other people to save Laurence. Others who are important to Temeraire are his crew, who he gets very upset about whenever one is killed in battle and very displeased when one leaves or is reassigned, and his dragon friends.

Another big part of his life is war. This series takes place during the Napoleonic Wars, and almost every dragon in Britain is part of the fighting Aerial Corps. Temeraire finds battle to be a very exciting thing, and something to look forward to. He was disappointed when he learned that he likely wouldn't be able to breathe fire or spit acid, but has recently discovered that he's able to unleash a sonic blast called the divine wind, which definitely appeased him on that front. He isn't much of a fan of underhanded tactics during a fight, especially when they're being used against him, but he'll make use of them if he has to. He also isn't really comfortable fighting dragons that are much smaller than him. Injuries don't bother him a whole lot, even after the fighting is done; even if he's in pain, he doesn't like being grounded and will overestimate his own limits and claim to be perfectly fine. He doesn't fight out of any particular sense of patriotism towards England, and at this point he's not entirely sure of the reasons why he's fighting (aside from the previously mentioned 'make Laurence happy' and 'fighting is exciting'), but he doesn't much like Napoleon and does want to win the war against him.

Aside from Laurence and fighting and math, Temeraire's other interests include shiny treasure and swimming. The extreme fondness for jewels and gold and other shinies is common among dragons, and the more gaudy the better. Temeraire has a gold chain and a silver and sapphire breastplate at this point in canon, which he only takes off in order to polish and stare at admiringly. He would deck himself out like Christmas if he could; he's more vain than you'd expect for someone raised a soldier, and he likes for both himself and Laurence to look their best. But aside from prizes won in battle, Temeraire does not approve of stealing treasure. As for bathing and swimming, these are not at all usual for dragons, and his fondness for this is probably to do with him having been hatched aboard a ship. But he loves to be clean (again playing into his vanity) and to play in the water as well.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Highly intelligent
+ Loyal
+ Strong sense of justice
+ Great amounts of enthusiasm about anything new and interesting
+/- Very independent, and won't be easily convinced to do anything he doesn't want to
+/- Bluntly honest, with little sense of tact
+/- His name translates to "bold" and "reckless", and he lives up to that fully.
+/- Very creative, but often takes this to the point of impracticality
- While he's a young adult by dragon standards, Temeraire is still not yet a year old and lacks a lot of real world experience. This is especially true of interacting with most people and civilization, as dragons are kept away from the majority of society.
- Codependence. He hasn't ever been without Laurence by his side, and will have a difficult time adjusting to him not being there in Johto.
- New tiny human body. While he'll be able to adapt well enough, he is used to being an 18 ton dragon and this will present a variety of difficulties. Like using his thumbs properly and walking.
- Can get very jealous and possessive over his things and people
- Can get very self-conscious and insecure about being different or making mistakes, especially at his current canon point

First Person Sample:
I do not understand why you keep handing me this strange box. It does not do anything but light up and show words which make no sense at all.

[Temeraire is not looking down at the screen, but rather at something standing somewhere in front of him. His words sound strangely clumsy, as though he's having trouble speaking around his own mouth.]

Which is very interesting, and I should like to keep it after I get back, but it is not telling me anything useful.

[Whoever he's talking to makes a draconic rumbling noise and a frustrated 'Druuuu'.]

But it isn't! It says welcome to the world of Pokemon, but not what a Pokemon is. Or where Laurence is, or how I have been changed into a human.

[He's looking less miffed and more anxious, now.]

I don't remember swallowing any pearls, like in that story, and I am quite certain that I would.

[He lets the hand holding the 'Gear fall down to his side, thumb accidentally hitting the end feed button on the way.]

Third Person Sample:
Temeraire had been quite certain at first that he would be gone from England, and more importantly Laurence, only a few days at most.

Today marks two weeks.

Certainly being able to go into the towns and cities without anyone being silly and running away is exciting, and to even be able to read books by himself…but he would much rather Laurence be there to explore beside him, and he'd gladly give up being able to turn pages to see his captain again. The still nameless hatchling--or Pokemon, as people keep telling him--had been curled on the ground a few feet away, but had been edging steadily closer over the past hour, until she lay right next to Temeraire. She raises her head, looking up at him, and he looks away.

"I am sorry, but I really cannot be your captain when I am a dragon myself, with my own captain."

It's an excuse, the same one he's been giving her since he appeared in this world, shrunk down into a man. In truth, he doesn't know at all how he should go about this. People have been telling him that this is different, but it doesn't feel all that different. It feels more like a betrayal.

The hatchling places her head across his legs, resting it there and half closing her eyes, content.

…He supposes that it's a pity that she still has no name. Maybe it will not be so terrible to give one to her, if he makes things very clear.

"Now, this does not mean I am your captain, understand," he begins, very firmly. She immediately turns her head a little so that she can pay her full attention to what he's saying with one bright yellow eye. He suddenly realizes that he has no idea what to name her. He continues anyway, a little less firmly for his frantic thinking, "But you cannot be without a name, and so I will give you one."

Temeraire had been named after a grand ship. And, with sudden inspiration, he finally says, "Your name will be Reliant. That is the ship which I hatched on, and it was a very good ship."

Reliant blinks once, yawns, and falls asleep. Temeraire is almost indignant, except for that she looks very satisfied after all, and he decides that he will let her remain where she is. Even if his legs are starting to fall asleep.

Character
Name: Laguna Loire
Series: Final Fantasy VIII
Timeline: Just before becoming president - Dissadia 012 memories are there, but they'll need to be awakened.
Canon Resource Links: The big, bad Final Fantasy Wiki.

Personality: Laguna Loire is one of the more cheerful, if not a bit idiotic, Final Fantasy playable characters. He'll joke and laugh about things, seemingly not focusing on anything serious or scary. However, he's not a full idiot. Just a bit of one. He knows how to motivate people, for one, and how to cheer them up. He might be called naive, he might be called foolish, but you've got to admit - he knows how to lead, and how to progress, and how to try and keep people in high spirits. After all, it's not really a good sigh if you're depressed on the field. You might jusy give up, and that's really bad!
However, this isn't all there is to Laguna. Deep down, or sometimes not, Laguna is nervous. Some people say he's just nervous around pretty women, but that's not it. He's also nervous when, well, he's gotten others into danger, or is under a lot of pressure, or may be about to die - you know, the big things. And ladies. His body feels stiff... and he gets cramps, mostly of the leg sort. He also tends to stammer when he's nervous, and he'll try and change the subject. However, he also tends to speak without thinking - without knowing what'll happen. In fact, that's how he agreed to many things.
Laguna is truely a family guy, and loves his Ellone and Raine. Pity what's gonna happen, huh? With his wife dying and his daughter getting on a ship and his son becoming a loner. He's more of a playful uncle, though, with his childlike joking and playfulness - even if he'd been Squall's dad, I can imagine him being very lenient and playful - just like how he was with Ellone.
Laguna tends to like talking about himself, though. He enjoys the journey, and enjoys speaking about it. After all, he did want to quit the army and become a journalist. Even if he's about to settle down as president of a hidden city. He doesn't enjoy having to kill lots of people in war, though, and wishes he didn't need to do that sort of fighting to save lil' Elle. He'll be glad to stop!
As another note, Laguna has a terrible sense of direction - he gets everybody lost quite a bit, both in FF8 and 012, but he just tries and shrug it off, as part of his cheerfulness. But in all honesty? He wouldn't care either way, because as I mentioned, he likes the journey and the people he meets.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Well, on the plus side...
+ Laguna can survive out in the field, due to his old training. He can get food from the wild, he can survive in the rain.
+ He's not the sort to just give up, which is rather good. Plus his cheer! That really is a power, in the world of Final Fantasy.
+ He already knows how to trust some sorts of creatures - such as the Moomba, so he won't be shocked as some beasts being friendly if captured.

And on the minus side...
- His sense of direction. It is horribad. He'll end up getting lost quite a bit, as he notices things which get him curious.
- His leg cramps. Really. Due to his nerves, he has them, and they get him down a bit.
- His regrets and fears, though, do get him in the gut. He can't help but wonder - is Elle okay now? What about Raine? He'll try and mask it, but he can't help but worry and fidget and the such.
- Plus! He's more apt at machine guns then hand-to-hand combat! So he won't be able to fight by himself for a while, but he'll be willing to use Pokemon.

First Person Sample: [The camera was upside-down, as Laguna used it to film the enviroment a bit. Laguna had a bit of a frown, though.]
So... this is Route 36, right? I could have sworn it looked smaller on the map...
[If you're sharp at maps, or where he is, though, it's clear: Laguna is on Route 32, the stark opposite of the shorter route to Goldenrod City. He doesn't seem too phazed, though. The guy let out a laugh.]
But, man oh man... this path is still pretty nice. The monsters here aren't too violent. They don't all charge at me!
[Speaking of, though... suddenly, he points his camera down to his Snivy.]

Anyway, Snivy here doesn't seem to like me. I try and talk to him, but he just ignores me. Wonder why? He won't even react to his nickna--
[But suddenly, Laguna shifts the camera, and it snaps off. It's a random encounter, don't mind him! He'll be back to reply soon]

Third Person Sample: The winds here was a lot different then the winds in Esthar. But of course it was! This place looked filled with trees, with strange birds - it was so calming! Laguna couldn't help but sit down, looking back at that house he was at before. "What a strange woman, now!" he sighed. Well... at least Ellone was safe. He was worried.
He could feel it, though. Those 'faeries' had vanished too... they normally vanished when the excitement faded. Haah... time to relax. At least, if he didn't feel the oddest sense of... nah. It passed. As he let out a stretch, though, he suddenly noticed something. No, not just that his things were mostly gone. There was a strange creature looking at him. He didn't know what it was - it looked kinda like a... dragon? Without wings? Well, that would be a lizard...
It was looking away from Laguna, though, the leafed tail twitching a little, almost irritated? Who knew. Laguna sure didn't - was this thing friendly? Well, only one thing to do! Laguna suddenly smiled.
"Hi there, little guy. What are you?" he said, putting out a hand. The creature tch'ed, continuing to frown, not answering. But, Laguna suddenly layed down, the creature next to his head.
"Wonder what you're thinking about? I mean, not many creatures can speak my language in my old world either. Old world - can't believe I'm saying that so easily! Hahaha..."
Should he be worried? He couldn't help but, well, feel his worry fade. He was stuck, it looked like, but so much had just happened. He'd become president of a hidden land, he'd saved Ellone, maybe he'd even get to see Raine again soon... okay, maybe he had a reason to return soon.
He looked over to the snake, who'd turned to sneering at Laguna a little. Laguna let out a chuckle. "You're pretty serious, you know? How about we work together. I don't know, I could use a guy to keep me in check."
Sigh. The Snivy looked him over, before sitting down. After all... this was his trainer. How did he not know? Did he even listen to anything, or look at his bag? But either way, the Snivy just nodded, with an almost dread.
"That settles it, then!" Laguna said, sitting up. There was a cruise ship over there... it could be nice. Or a road, too... the road looked nicer. He could have a nice travel, he could explore the place.
"Well... to travel well begins with a single step, am I right? Off we go!"
Laguna let out a laugh, as his new Snivy stared down Laguna, before it sighed. What a moron. Did he even know where they were going...? But the path opened, as Laguna took his first steps onto Route 29...
