RUINS OF ALPH

Having descended to the puzzle room, you will be faced with four different 'sliding picture' puzzles made of stone, one set into each wall. Completing one of these puzzles opens a trapdoor in the floor beneath you, dropping you into a new room.

These new rooms (the 'item chambers,' if you will) contain messages scrawled on the wall. They're encoded in the Unown alphabet, and so could take some time to decipher.

More importantly, however, in each room, there is a single word etched into the floor, also in Unown lettering. That word is the only hint you're given to help get you out of this room, since you can't climb back up (where is that trapdoor, anyway?), and there are no immediately apparent doors.

Chamber One: Our words shall remain here for the ages.

The word ESCAPE is carved into the floor tiles. A thorough inspection of the room will reveal a small window, set into the wall in one corner, right beneath the ceiling. It's too high for a human to reach, but large enough for most small Pokémon, or a small child. Any living creature passing through the window into the passage beyond will cause the hidden door to open, allowing you and your party through, as well.

The passage contains an oran berry, a pecha berry, an energy powder, and a heal powder, none immediately obvious, but all fairly easy to find, if you're looking. Following the passage will lead you back to the puzzle chamber via another hidden door.

Chamber Two: Thus we shall erect a Pokémon statue outside.

The word LIGHT is carved into the floor tiles. Lighting up the room in any way, be it via a Pokémon's flame, a match, a flashlight or the backlight of your 'Gear, will cause the hidden door to open, allowing you and your party through to the passage beyond. (Use light near floor message for best results.)

The passage contains a heal powder, an energy root, a moon stone, and a sitrus berry, none immediately obvious, but all fairly easy to find, if you're looking. Following the passage will lead you back to the puzzle chamber via another hidden door.

Chamber Three: They possess great insight and refuse the outside world.

The word WATER is carved into the floor. Filling the letters of the word with water, whether water from a bottle or from a Pokémon, will cause the hidden door to open, allowing you and your party through to the passage beyond. Some have reported success with placing a Water Stone on the word in a pinch, but the Ruins can be fickle.

The passage contains a stardust, a star piece, a mystic water, and a leppa berry, none immediately obvious, but all fairly easy to find, if you're looking. Following the passage will lead you back to the puzzle chamber via another hidden door.

Chamber Four: We humans must learn to walk in harmony with them. We depart for their sakes.

The word FRIEND is carved into the floor. The mere presence of any Pokémon who has a strong bond with you will cause the hidden door to open, allowing you and your party through to the passage beyond. If you don't have a good relationship with your Pokémon... well, you'd better have an escape rope, or start making friends.

The passage contains a revival herb, a charcoal, a leppa berry, and a life orb, none immediately obvious, but all fairly easy to find, if you're looking. Following the passage will lead you back to the puzzle chamber via another hidden door.
