Personality: At first glance Eric is rude, blunt, not very talkative, strange, regular older teenager. And second glance would be the same. And third… He really is like that. To people he’s not used to…and even still to those he’s known for a while.
But, he’s also a lot more.
The first time he joined Homra, he was nothing but rude and blunt, using his dual language skills to speak nothing but English to others, yet still conveying the meaning behind his words to make them understand that he thought they were idiots. Only after a gentle prod, or even a stern talking to gets him to act at least a bit more politely. Because of the way he had lived before, he didn’t need manners, or any kind of manners a human normally had. He believed himself a dog and acted the part that he was trained to be. It was his ‘whole world’ before he found Homra.
He is also a very quiet person. Generally seen just sitting and not moving from a spot for hours at a time, or following someone else as they do an errand, Eric is very awkward in actual social situations. Having a hard time giving his opinions (unless to make fun of something or someone) or talking about himself, he is either soft spoken and shy or snaps at people; there is rarely an in-between. He needs to be kept an eye on him at times, because he rarely eats, either forgetting or refusing to do so, because he feels that he hasn’t done anything to deserve it.
Eric does not think very highly of himself. Because of the environment he had lived in for quite some time, he refers to himself as a dog, something that obeys orders from his master and receives food as a reward. If his use were to dry up, he would be killed, so he tried to remain useful in order to live. Even though he wasn’t treated nicely by his former group, he remained because of his loyalty, since he was immediately taken after his parents died. He had never even thought, or believed that he deserved, to ask for help, believing he was nothing more than a lowlife dog. Now that he is a part of Homra, Eric sticks with them; Homra is his new home. His loyalty to them showed even earlier on, when he was shocked and worried over accidentally hurting Fujishima, whom had saved his life and helped him while he stayed at the bar. He had been trying to kill Totsuka at the time, as he had been ordered to. He had to kill Totsuka or Mikoto, or die trying. Even though he had tried to follow through with it, he wasn’t thinking of killing anyone, it was mainly just for survival.
Eric can be shy or embarrassed with how little he knows. Though he does wish to learn, he missed things along the way. During a time when they went to the beach, Eric stared at the ocean with a tube around him until Shouhei asked if he could swim, and, much to Eric’s disgruntled attitude, began teaching him. Having had a portion of his childhood taken away and going through what he had, Eric still has a childlike, almost innocent side of him. He got so excited (and sparkly!) shopping for a present for Anna, and laughed and happily celebrated Yata’s birthday. Even for being sad, during Totsuka’s funeral, he was the only one who really openly cried for the loss of a friend, showing just how much he’s grown to be able to do so. He hasn’t had a lot of opportunities to do some simple things that people take for granted on a daily basis
Now, after being almost 2 and a half year in Homra, Eric…is still kind of the same. He’s still quiet, has some awkwardness, has his rudeness, and still his blunt way of speaking. But he’s relaxed now, he can voice his opinions even if they’re quiet, he doesn’t lash out and the social awkwardness has subsidised. It’s still all there, even with the people that have helped him through it all, but he’s grown to be not a skittish abused dog, not even a well-trained dog, but a human being.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths: - Fighter: Eric can use a knife that he had acquired from his previous gang as well as the flame red power he had received from Homra to fight in any battle he feels fit to use. - Survivor: Eric, having gone through an abusive and if not almost deadly environment for a few years, knows how to survive on his own and to do what he can. He can live through a lot without being fazed. - Bilingual, able to speak both Japanese and English - Skill with computers: Considering he was using his phone to find any information on Totsuka’s killer, Eric has learned quite a bit about computers so he has some skill in using them.
Weaknesses: - Socially awkward: Even though he’s improved immensely, Eric still hasn’t really interacted with anyone outside of Homra. He still will be suspicious of new people and will take a while to warm up to others. - Taking care of oneself what is that: Eric can still forget to eat or sleep properly or well, do a lot of things that people find normal and routine. Occasional reminders from friends will help, but being alone still gets a few bumps alone the way. - Always learning: Being with Homra 2 and a half years means Eric learned a lot. Manners, swimming, and probably at least half of the hobbies that Totsuka decided to try out. But that’s still not a lot of time to learn a lot more things. There are a lot of new experiences still waiting for him that he will tackle with curiousity and eagerness to learn.
[ Eric’s face appears and he tugs a bit on his hair. ]
I’m looking for people.
[ Small shuffling about until oh dear he’s moving his shirt down on his shoulder and removed his sweater. A red tattoo was on his right shoulder that he was trying to get a good angle on. ]
They have this on them somewhere. They’re from Homra. In Shizume City, Tokyo Japan.
[ He puts his shirt back to normal and it goes back to his face. He looked a little sad as he tried to hide his eyes in his bangs. ]
If anyone is from there, or have seen them…It’d be nice to know. T-thanks.

As Eric finished up the last of his ‘mother’s’ trail mix, he had to wonder what he had gotten into.
Sure he was used to sleeping anywhere and everywhere but he was not used to mass amounts of forests and camping. He hoped they would reach the next city soon, he didn’t like being in new surroundings. More change, just great.
He looked to his new found Pokemon and watched as it ate some of the trail mix he had given it. It was like someone combined a tiger and a dog and a lion for extra fluffiness. It really was a strange place he got dragged to. Some of these things looked like real animal but were bigger, stranger looking.
He felt like Fujishima would love this place. He loved all animals after all. He sighed, no use worrying about it. Fujishima wasn’t here, Kusanagi wasn’t here. No one was here, he had to fend for himself. He’ll figure it out, somehow.
He stood up, finished with the trail mix. Batting off all the wood chips and dirt and whatever else decided to stick to him. A bird…wait Pokemon decided to call and make a ruckus. Eric decided he did not like camping.
“Are you ready?” He asked his companion.
Growlithe barked happily, standing up and wagging his tail, trail mix all but gone.
Eric gave out a small, soft chuckle before standing up. “Alright, Cherrygrove City is where we need to go. Then we can figure out what to do…”
Another bark of agreement. At least the company wasn’t so bad. Better than having Bandou around yelling and shouting everywhere. Or Yata with his constant complaining.
He shook his head. Homra wasn’t here and he wasn’t in a city. Everything was new but he would get by. He used to call himself a dog, right? He never thought he would stop calling himself that, so maybe he’ll actually like this camping and adventuring.
“Let’s go.” He looked down to his Pokemon who wagged his tail and gave a small smile in return.
