[Steven seems to be enjoying himself. He has the camera propped on his shoulder like a phone, grinning at the screen with his Cleffa nuzzling on the shoulder opposite.] W-Whoa, now, stay still, okay? I wanna take a picture to send back to the Gems.
-- oh! It's a video! Heh, oops. [Steven chuckles at his mistake, gives the camera a little wave instead.] Hey! Hi there! I'm Steven, Steven Universe! I wonder who I should send this too -- maybe Connie and Dad -- oh, but I don't want to get in trouble...I don't know if I'm supposed to be here.
[Steven turns to the Cleffa, gives her a little poke.] Do YOU know where we are?
[The Cleffa makes a few noncommittal noises, burrows more against his fluffy hair.] Hmm. Ok. Guess we're on our own, huh?
Then maybe we should ask whoever can see this video! Can you tell me where we are? I really shouldn't be exploring somewhere new without the Gems with me! I mean, I can take care of myself, but they'll PROBABLY get mad. So if anyone sees a bunch of Gems wandering around, can you tell them to look for me? And maybe to bring me some fry bits? I'm kind of hungry.
Third Person Sample:
Being somewhere new without the other Gems here was...weird.
But Steven doesn't mind! He's big and responsible now, right? He can take care of himself. Besides, nothing here looked even remotely dangerous. He shifts the backpack on his shoulder a little and continues walking down Route 29, with the little pink blob he'd found earlier in his arms. She'd seemed perfectly content to come with him, so Steven was more than happy to adopt the little fella.
"Soooo...what's your name?" He tries, looking down at the fairy Pokemon. The Cleffa makes a few noises back up at him, twitches her ears. Not very helpful. "Do you not have a name? Want me to give you one? I'm kind of a name master, so I bet you'd like it." But what to call her...that, Steven was stuck on. It wasn't as obvious as Lion's name, since she didn't really look like anything Steven could think of.
He wishes Connie were her. Connie was so smart and imaginative, she'd have NO trouble helping him come up with a name. Steven pauses for a moment, can't help but feel a gnaw of worry for his friends. What if they were in trouble and he couldn't help them? What if they thought he was DEAD?
Such a thought was too dire to imagine. It was also hard to worry on an empty stomach, so Steven sighs and plops down against a nearby tree, roots through his bag for something to eat. "What do we have here... oh!" Ta-da! A lunch box. A little different than what his looked like back at home, but food was food and Steven thought it was cute. "...wanna share it with me?" He offers the bento to his Cleffa, who happily scrambles out of his arms to nibble at the contents.
She was adorable. Steven loved her already. At least, if he couldn't find the Gems or his friends anytime soon, he had at least ONE companion here.
