Character Name: Wade Wilson/Deadpool Series: Marvel 616 Timeline: Bullseye part 2: Let the healing begin Canon Resource Links:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deadpool
Personality: Deadpool likes to act like he is shallow. Nothing more than a murderer for hire, a sell sword who gives his abilities to the highest bidder. He likes anyone who’s attractive, big guns, big swords and fancy weapons. He acts stupid, cracks jokes and generally struts around acting like he’s gods gift to the world, frequently talking about how amazing he is and how good he is at his job. This, however, like his mask, is just something he wears. Something to hide the real person under it, all the real damage and scars that make up Wade Wilson.
Wade Wilson is a man that is suffering from cancer. One upon a time he was too afraid to die, so he let the Weapon X program play with his genetic code and fill it with Wolverine’s DNA. It gave him the ability to regenerate, but did not cure his cancer. It also exacerbated the cancer, causing it to spread to every tissue in his body. The illegal tests done on him drove him impossibly insane, and Wade is really the shattered shadow of a man. He is in constant pain, and his body is always in flux, healing and degenerating at the same time. He cannot die from cancer, but if he is cured of it, the regeneration will kill him. If his regeneration is gone, he will also die. At this point in his life, he thinks of himself as a hideous monster, and feels deep shame about his body. He hides it under acting like he’s incredible, and aggressively flirting with women and men. He doesn’t expect anything to come of it though, considering himself too far gone for anyone other than a select few to actually love.
Deadpool is not well liked within his universe either, and he knows it. Even Deadpool views himself as expendable, and treats himself as such. He puts himself into impossibly dangerous situations, regularly challenges death, and takes an incredible amount of punishment. Nothing seems to phase him, because the one thing he wants is to die. He feels as if death is the only escape for him, and pretty much hates his life more than anyone else on the planet hates it. While he has been given the chance to die several times, he has passed up those chances time and time again, because despite everything, he still feels like he is needed in the world, and actually does have some small sense of responsibility. He has things he still has to do, even if he thinks he’ll have it better on the other side. He knows no one likes him, and lives a lonely life in his apartment, figuring he’ll be that way for the rest of eternity.
He does have a softer, more tender side. Deadpool, though he hates his body and is ashamed of it, is very confident in his masculinity, and isn’t afraid to show his girly side when it dares to come out. He cross dresses shamelessly, and has been seen in a variety of skirts and dresses, including a mini skirt and thong, a wig, and a Marilyn Monroe dress and wig. He watches Maude and soap operas, and openly talks about it, his favorite actress is Bea Arthur, and he flirts openly with men, telling Thor that he found him incredibly attractive, and trying to get Spiderman to come home with him. Deadpool is impossible to shame when it comes to being a man, because he is well aware that all those other things aside, he is probably the most masculine person in the room, considering he’s 6‘4“ and ripped. Deadpool doesn’t care about doing battle in dresses, might even prefer it, and doesn’t care who sees him.
He is very keyed in to pop culture and television, and may constantly phase in and out of the forth wall. Deadpool knows he’s a comic book character after all. He may recognize people outside of his own canon, and make a comment about it, or launch into a fan boy ramble about something else. He has super hero underwear, he participates in hero worship and he loves to talk about his favorite shows and video games. While he was being experimented on, he immersed himself in pop culture and television and video games, and while he was escaped and rebuilding himself, he hung out and watched television some more. As well as being an avid follower of popular TV shows, Deadpool cracks jokes almost constantly through his battles and in conversation, apparently incapable of being serious for more than five minutes on a normal basis. It’s usually rare that he’s even lucid, and he just kind of walks through life in a constant state of wacky denial, living like a teenager on his own in his apartment. Deadpool is essentially immature and doesn’t care about almost everything, and one would be hard pressed to get him to act like a responsible adult. Deadpool only acts responsible when things get too heavy for him to take, and since that almost never happens, he’s just usually a smack talking asshole.
Deadpool acts like a big, overgrown teenager, and acts like he loves every minute of it, but he’s deeply damaged on the inside, past the point of being a functional human being. He can barely even pretend to be normal anymore. He’s a mess, and he’s accepted that. Now he just does whatever he wants, sometimes the good guy, sometimes bad. Deadpool plays by his own rules, and refuses to bend to anyone else. He might be alone for the rest of time, but at least no one will ever make him do anything again.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths: Well trained in hand to hand combat: Deadpool has learned several different kinds of hand to hand combat over all the years he’s been a mercenary. He’s pretty dangerous with just his limbs alone. He doesn’t need a weapon in order to take someone out.
Trained in weapons: Even improvised weapons such as hammers and sticks.
Quick thinker: Deadpool can come up with a plan on the fly and then execute it brilliantly. From saving a kidnapped victim to breaking to a house undetected, he’s a competent man who knows what he’s doing.
Weaknesses: Insane: Deadpool lost his mind years ago. He hears voices, he hallucinates, he takes wild risks that could potentially kill him, and he never seems to care.
Low self esteem: Deadpool hates himself. No one hates Deadpool as much as Deadpool hates Deadpool. He doesn’t like who he’s become, he doesn’t like the way he looks, the only thing he likes about himself is how competent he is.
Constant Pain: Deadpool is in a constant state of pain due to his cancer. There is hardly ever a moment where he doesn’t hurt, and without the healing factor it will heavily impede his movements.

Samples First Person Sample: Hey I got a problem with one of my animals. Pokemon. Whatever. These things.
[Deadpool picks up a small, pink puffball. It isn’t moving, but it’s clear it’s alive, just completely unresponsive to anything]
I found this giant ass butterfly in a field so I went to go kick the shit out of it. Like a dumbass, I sent out this one because I thought it could just sing it into a coma. Anyway, giant ass butterfly, hereon known as the GAB, sneezes on it or something and it just conks out. Now my powder puff is in a coma and it won’t wake up. I’ve exhausted all other attempts to wake it up, trust me I’ve tried almost everything short of blowing something up. This thing isn’t moving. Someone tell me how to wake my killer powder puff up before I start punching people.
Third Person Sample: It was hard, being just... Wade Wilson here. He still told everyone his name was Deadpool, but without the suit it just didn’t feel the same. He pulled his hat down over his face a little, kicking his feet up on a stump. It was hard not having an apartment to go back to either. Normally he’d crash at a pokemon center, but... Well there wasn’t one close by, and it was dark now. Looked like it was just going to be him and the campfire tonight. At least it wasn’t cold out.
The rabbit, buneary the little pokedex called it, Mimi as Deadpool called it, was asleep next to him, covered in the merc’s jacket to keep from getting chilly at all. He didn’t disturb it, staring into the fire quietly as he mulled over what he’d done so far in the world. It was strange, to not have a weapon with him. No knives, no guns, nothing. He’d armed himself with a mallet and a large stick, but it wasn’t as comfortable as having a gun. But so far this world was... peaceful. Quiet. It didn’t need a super hero running around trying to save it. Sure there were a few bad eggs but they didn’t seem interested in killing people. Just stealing pokemon. And Deadpool could handle a few two bit pokemon thieves. If his pokemon didn’t do the job, his fists would work just as fine.
He cracked his knuckles idly, kicking another branch into the fire. He didn’t know how to act with things so... peaceful here. Where the most dangerous thing was an animal he could eventually just control and tell what to do. How did this work? How was he supposed to be? How could he keep going without the violence? This place was... it was too nice. Too good for someone like him. It was like being plunked down into a calm little slice of heaven, just him and these animals that he could devote himself to. Without looking, he reached down to stroke his thick fingers over Mimi’s head, scratching behind an ear. She cooed in her sleep, but didn’t move. How could someone who only knew war... exist where there was none? Be in a place that had no need for even the simplest of weapons.
He sighed. He wasn’t going to sleep well tonight, not with these thoughts floating around in his head. But he wasn’t about to leave Mimi for a walk or wake her up. Let the thing sleep, she had a lot of work to do tomorrow. Deadpool- Wade... Would think of something. He’d manage in this world, somehow, some way. He was made to survive, he’d do it.
