Personality: Princess Sonia Nevermind can fool you but it’s not on purpose. With a first look and a first conversation, it’s easy to think that’s she’s just a kind, sweet, gentle girl who wants everyone to be happy. Now that’s not to say that isn’t who she is. She cares fondly about everyone, and her sweetness borders on the naïve. When Teruteru says his penis is poisoned and needs to be sucked out, she has to be convinced by others not to do it. (Several times.) Her attitude towards such things is more of a ‘You can count on me!’ thought, as she enjoys being someone you can rely on.

However once you get to know her, you start to notice some odd things. As a princess, it’s difficult to have things in common with the lower classes, and as such she will often pepper outdated slang into her dialogue in order to be ‘closer’ to people. She has absolutely no idea how strange it is to hear ‘hella awesome!’ come out of her mouth. She doesn’t want to be treated as superior or different because of where she came from, and enjoys doing mundane things with her friends. That said, it’s not difficult to become her friend, as she’s very easygoing and accepting.

As you get closer to hear and discover more of her likes and dislikes, that’s where things get especially odd. Despite her fondest wishes for peace and happiness, she absolutely adores serial killers. She views people like Genocider Syo as heroes who strike down evil doers for justice! She loves to read and learn more about them, although she herself would never hurt a soul. It’s a dark fascination that also has her in love with the occult and the horror genre. One of her favorite days is Friday the 13th, which she sees as a holiday.

Her strangeness and normalcy can both be put on hold if something extremely urgent is going on. She has the ability to command authority and assert herself over others, which they describe as an ‘aura’ of royalty. She by no means uses this for tyrannical or bossy means – she does this to keep everyone’s heads cool and level, and make sure the right things get done, such as launching an investigation into another kid’s murders to having others listen during her opinion during a trial. She takes her position as a princess very seriously, and sees nothing wrong with her country. In that same vein, she doesn’t see her country as superior to anyone else’s. However she is often shocked by the differences between her country and others. When finding a tank on Jabberwock island, she’s surprised Hinata doesn’t know how to work it, as in her country, kids as young as elementary students learn how to use army equipment.

She’s not a virgin, but at the same time is very naïve when it comes to most sexual talk and innuendo. It’s not that she’s never heard of these dirty things, but that she would have an easier time understanding you if you were more blunt about it. She might still be embarrassed to talk about it, as shown when Togami reveals they could see ‘everything’ the students did, Sonia insists they delete the footage or else ‘I’ll never be able to get married!’ So while it’s not exactly a matter of purity, she does value privacy and has the heart of a gentle maiden.

To sum it up – Sonia is an unusual princess with a hobby of looking up serial killers, but on the whole is someone who would make a valuable and comforting best friend.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths :
‘Royal Aura’ – As described by the other kids, this is when Sonia issues a command with all the power and superiority of a royal. It can often encourage others to try and kneel, but generally it’s just used to get attention.

Military and Weaponry Knowledge – Her country teaches their youth to know all about military weapons and most forms of weaponry in order to defend their home. Sonia knows how to operate high level equipment such as tanks.

Weaknesses :

Naivety – Because she’s rarely been around kids her own age, she isn’t entirely aware of what’s normal in society or what the hip cool kids talk about. As such, she can be tricked into saying innuendos or believing things that just aren’t true.

Superiority – Though it doesn’t show up that often, sometimes when she is most miserable or angry, she will snap that she is better than people, such as ‘How dare you talk to me!’ However, she’s also shown to regret these instances right after.

Samples
First Person Sample: [Sonia clicks on the device, eyes narrow and with a serious expression. It appears, if one takes a look at her surroundings, she’s in a library, as stacks of books are on her left and right. Her Combee is humming peacefully on top of the left stack, taking a well deserved nap.]

Pardon the intrusion, but I have noticed something deeply unsettling within this world. It has come to my attention that there has never been a single serial killer in the history of Johto! Although I admit my research is limited, since the literature they provide here is mostly Pokemon related. You would think they would have a few books about humans.

But that brings me back to the point! Surely someone along the way would use their Pokemon to do a mass amount of murder! Pokemon themselves can be extremely deadly. Why, on my journey to the Pokemon Center, I could have died in five different ways! How is that no one ever took advantage of this? I refuse to believe it! That’s why I’m calling upon those who have been here longer – surely you’ve witnessed some sort of serial killing in the past of Pokemon. And I want to hear all about it! What Pokemon they used, the victims… I promise to remember all of it! Thank you in advance!

[Then, a pause, as if she’s remembering something. She tilts her head, instantly cheery, almost giggling.]

Oh, I almost forgot. I won the Bug Contest! Yay! It was quite thrilling!

Third Person Sample:
So this was the famous Ecruteak Dance Hall. Sonia was buzzing with excitement louder than her own bee Pokemon, the two of them standing in the doorway, her hands clasped together. The Japanese culture truly thrived here, and she could not wait to absorb every single piece of it. She took a deep breath, and then entered the small building, instantly struck by the beauty of its simplicity. The show had not begun yet, but there were already people sitting on their knees on soft cushions, and murmurs of the audience in anticipation. She'd better grab a seat if she wanted a good view!

She scanned the area, trying to determine the best spot, but Combee had other ideas. She flew ahead, deciding Sonia would sit right at the front - despite the fact an older gentleman had already taken that table. Sonia gasped, and quickly jogged towards the startled man. "Come back here, Combee! We can't sit there!" But Combee plopped herself on the table, refusing to budge. The man opened his mouth to speak but Sonia stuck her hand out, shouting. "Combee! I said no!" She would not have her first experience at the dance hall be marred and ruined by her own Pokemon! Combee appeared to grumble, but then used it's tiny wings to hover and move to a space above Sonia's right shoulder. "That was incredibly rude of you, Combee." Sonia continued to lecture, wagging a disciplinary finger at her. "You must remember who and what you represent!" She then turned to apologize to the man, but he'd already left during the small fight.

Sonia blinked, looking around for a few seconds. Well... to the victor go the spoils. Surely she could find him after the show and apologize then. She delicately knelt down on the pillow, smoothing down her dress, but she would not look at her smirking Pokemon. "When the show is over, you and I are going to have a long, serious discussion about... Oooh, it's starting!" She squealed, clapping her hands as the curtains began to part.
