Character Name: Vanellope von Schweetz. Series: Wreck-It Ralph. Timeline: After escaping with kart to Diet Cola Mountain. Canon Resource Links: Wreck-It Ralph wiki. Vanellope wiki.
Personality: Vanellope has an enthusiasm for life, even if hers hasn't been the greatest. She's taken the time to explore her game to its fullest since she doesn't have the luxury of leaving it like non-glitched characters, curiosity and need to understand leading her to places nobody else knows about. It's rather lucky, for her, as the rest of Sugar Rush views her as nothing but a mistake. Despite this, Vanellope tries to hold her head up high, deflecting with confidence and an unusual sense of humor.
There are times when this gets out of hand. Her jokes don't tend to get very far with the other characters in Sugar Rush, leaving her with next to nothing for defense when it comes to receiving their scorn, and when she gets confident about something, her focus inflates her ego. This results in knowing--beyond a shadow of a doubt--that she is a spectacular racer when she doesn't even know how to drive a real kart, and while this eventually is true, her positivity is unfounded. It's rare for her to outwardly show her doubts, and she'll only truly show this "weak point" to someone she trusts.
Not being properly socialized, Vanellope doesn't exactly fit in even when you ignore the fact that her glitched status causes her to be public enemy #1. Her jokes are often inappropriate, whether they lean towards crude-mannered or just poorly timed, and her perceptions are a little skewed. Even after being told that the "gold coin" she finds belongs to Ralph and that he needs it, she decides it's okay to take it if she can reach it first. Since she's so sure she'll win, this theft is just "borrowing" in her mind, and she can return it to Ralph after the race, never mind how precious it seems to be to him. When she sees that she and Ralph can help each other, she strikes up a deal and deems that they are friends before genuine affection forms.
Once her plans go sour, Vanellope is quick to come up with a new one. She attacks problems as soon as they pop up, making decisions on the fly. This includes needing to forgive someone when they've wronged her--when it needs to be done, she'll get it done. Not only is she able to use her wits to her advantage when resolving something, but she picks up on new knowledge quickly. She acts fast, facing the challenge of having to learn skills with vigor, as shown by the "learning to drive" montage, and even when she's first introduced by how quickly she snatches Ralph's medal. Not only does she zip around before she can be stopped, but she's able to use Ralph's lack of knowledge and attentiveness to her advantage to gain the higher ground.
When all is said and done, this kid is just that: a kid. Her personality can enhance that fact. She's a goof, she often thinks of things in terms of herself, and she dreams big--no matter how much bullying she gets from King Candy and the other racers, Vanellope tries to not let it get in the way of her ideals or of those of her friends.
Strengths/Weaknesses: + Loyal. + Resourceful. + Learns quickly. + Fast and flexible.

Samples First Person Sample: Now this... [The girl on the screen has a smirk that takes up half her face.] This is more like my game. Hey, Mr. Creamsicle, over here!
[The camera swivels to reveal a Vanellite blowing a cold mist at a berry bush. When he's called, he looks up with a soft chirrup! and floats on over.]
Now he ain't perfect, a'course--hard to be, you know? But even if he's not actually made of sugar, he sure looks like he is! And he's got the right attitude.
Bet I could make a real cone out of him, yet...
[Vanellope, what does that even mean.]
Third Person Sample: In the short time Vanellope had been in Johto, she had noticed one very important thing. Cookies and sweets were in woefully low supply around the Rocket base. Since she hadn't done that well at the whole 'bring us strong pokemon' thing and the job was available for the taking, the girl took it upon herself to rectify this grave situation, signing up for kitchen duty.
One would have thought that, after the disaster that was baking her kart, Vanellope would have given up on all things cooking-related. Then again, one has to keep in mind that, to Vanellope, her kart was a rousing success. Besides, it had been Ralph to break the decoration tubes! She wasn't anywhere near as strong, so she shouldn't have any problems whatsoever, right?
Right.
Her confidence only grew as she gathered the ingredients. The dumb wheel-shaped thing wasn't of much help, but the Zubat attempted to, straining as it tried to drag the flour over to her giant mixing bowl. Just before it tipped, Vanellope skipped over to grab it, and between them they were able to lift some of it up and into the bowl. Perhaps a tad more than was necessary, as any observer would have been able to point out to the little girl, but as the three were alone in the kitchen...
In went a splash of milk and four eggs--shells and all--before she moved the bowl over to the beaters for proper mixing. Ever the speedster, Vanellope wasted no time in cranking the speed up to its highest setting, and it wasn't long before the walls were splattered with the sorry excuse for...what even was she making? Cookies? Cake? Given the lack of care taken in her preparation, the assumption that the young Rocket hadn't a clue either was probably a safe one. When the concoction finally makes it into the oven--still in the metal bowl, though she'd had to take out one of the racks in there to make it fit--Vanellope's looking more than a little proud of herself, and she walks away with a smile after turning up the oven's temperature (to an actually reasonable amount, surprisingly.)
Little does she know that, if this slab of "baked goods" is actually eaten by anyone around the base, they're more than likely to toss their cookies in more ways than one.
