Personality:
Upon first impression, you might have no idea that this polite and courteous individual happened to be an ancient Irish hero. Who would? Irish heroes are generally categorized as fight happy and forward individuals, and he's polite enough to kind of dispel that image. He likes using formal words and acts as if following an ancient type of chivalry, which is different compared to the brash acts commonly found in heroes around his era. If you didn't know him better, he could actually pass as your archetypical Knight in Shining Armor (which he sort of is.)

Chivalry. That in itself is Diarmuid's code of conduct. Being polite, fair and courteous, that is his way of living, back in the past, and even now as a Heroic Spirit. Like any person bound to chivalry, Diarmuid much prefers a fair fight by giving his enemy a chance to prove themselves, and adjusting his handicap so that he'd be able to match them. This part of his trait is glaringly obvious during his second duel with Saber, where he took on a handicap in order to match Saber, who was faking the injury they got during their very first duel in order to make it a fair continuation. After all, the Fianna had always been one for fairness.

And then there's the fact that he's pretty much loyal to those he's sworn himself to; In fact, he's so loyal that it caused him disasters the two times he swore loyalty to his masters, past or present. Really, if there's one phrase that'd fit Diarmuid, it'd be 'he's like that really faithful dog willing to stand by his master through thick and thin.' And that's all he really wanted in his life. To have someone he can serve under, and be proud of doing so. That desire was so strong that it was his sole wish that drove him forward during the Grail War rather than anything else. It's only natural, of course; considering his last Master killed him from a grudge that never went away from a certain incident in his past.

Diarmuid was a warrior completely used to evading pursuit attempts. Thus, it's only natural that Diarmuid prefers having some sort of distance from his acquaintances before he gets to know them better. It's not much of a problem if you're viewed neutrally, as this would just mean that he's not that forthcoming about his past. Though if he suspects someone of something, he's going to be even more guarded about everything about himself, which would usually mean that it'll take a longer while for him to be able to at least trust that person with basic details of himself.

When it comes to anger, Diarmuid could be considered one with a temper befitting an unmoving rock. Getting a rise out of him is difficult, and getting him to show his annoyance of you is also an arduous task. Though, should those be stacked up continuously and without stopping, it's certainly possible to cause this sensible man to completely snap and curse the world around him. This was readily apparent during the time when Kayneth commanded him to kill himself using the Command Mantra, causing all his built up stress from having Sola falling in love with him; and Kayneth's distrust despite his loyalty, to burst. This obviously resulted in him dying as someone more of a monster compared to a heroic spirit, as he cursed everything about this war in his dying words.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Proficiency with Weapons: Being a knight of the Fianna, it is only natural for him to have an abnormal skill with swords and spears.
+ Calm: He is always able to keep his cool in a lot of situations; often times being the voice of reason in some situations too.
+/- Fair: He is always one for an equal fight, and will not resort to underhanded means to win a battle.
- Bottled Emotions: He always try to keep his stress bottled in, and when it explodes, well- see below.
- Rage: ...While the only circumstance of this happening is really just the straw breaking the pile of anger he had accumulated, this is still something that could happen.

Hm...

[The sight of a certain knight just musing in front of the Gear would be one of the first thing that greets you in today's feed.]

A small question to you all this fine morning, if I may—

[There's a sigh as his calm face belied the noise that you're hearing right now-

That of girls fawning over him.]

Does the Gym Leader of this city fawn over you when you defeat her? And if yes, which words did you use to dissuade her from an attempt at courting you?

[Because his polite words just caused said Gym Leader to squeal even louder rather than backing off.]

Third Person Sample:
Three months.

That had been the time he spent within this place, alongside the fact that it was the same length of time he had gone through without seeing the familiar cityscape of Fuyuki. It is of no surprise that he had at least been adapting quite well to this place's strange quirks. He's certainly glad that his prior experiences enabled him to traverse these 'routes' without nary a trouble, save from the stronger creatures that lies in wait to ambush him.

Now, normally he would've just thought of that as a signal that the hunt had began, but ever since he woke up with his Budew, she had been his sword the moment a Rattatta appeared in order to block their path forward. It's strange to not fight anything that challenged him without fighting alongside his partner; but he had to adapt, after all, without her he would have been completely incapable of protecting himself in this place (his last attempt at making a makeshift spear failed horribly when the local Officer noticed him doing that).

"—ew?"

The familiar sound broke him out of his reverie as he noticed the little one tugging at his pants, prompting him to move his body to get into a more comfortable position from his seat on the ground to accomodate the little one on his lap.

Naturally, she immediately took up the spot.

"...Can't sleep again?"

For being his sword in battle, she acted like a child whenever they're not in battle, leaving him to think about his past life as a father. Perhaps that's why she grew on him quickly, as she's a reminder of the life he left behind so long ago.

It certainly felt nostalgic, this journey of his.
