Personality: Moses is an idiot. The game plays this up extremely well. Jay constantly calls him an idiot. If Senel restarts a maze puzzle (Which shows up fairly often in the game) enough time, each character shows up to say they've solved it. Moses is the very last character to do so. He ruins Jay's plan (though, unknown to him at the time) to rescue Shirley, and he doesn't always act the brightest. He's got a one track mind (From the beginning to near end of the main game (When he finally gets them), he's concerned about finding Sacred Eres (the magic attacks of Tales of Legendia)), and will do anything to get what he wants (including angering a Great Gaft) to try and get them. Naturally, this gets him into a lot of trouble from the other group members.

But, he's not completely stupid. He knows things about the ship that some people don't (he knew how to get out of the Forest of No Return when no one else did.), but people still treat him like he's not the brightest bulb. He shows signs of knowledge and maturity beyond his years at points, especially during his character quest, while he tries to figure out how to deal with Giet.

He commands loyalty. Before the game starts, it's said he was told to choose between Giet (his pet) or the village. When he left, a bunch of followers left as well. He's the bandit chief, saying that he must command a lot of respect of the people who are underneath him. And there are a lot. He's loyal too, and he appreciates things like the love and care between a brother and a sister, and family bonds. He stays with the group from when he joins to the very end of the journey, and even afterwards. He's loyal to them, and he trusts them. Sometimes he's loyal to a fault, especially concerning his pet Galf, Giet, who he refuses to believe is attacking people. It's because Giet is like his family, and Moses takes his family very seriously. He's very caring towards Giet and the Bandit Tribe most of all, and slowly, but surely, he cares about the other members of the group, because they all are his family, or at least become his family. He's extremely sociable; he never really deviates from someone else, as he's almost always seen with someone (Giet, Bandit Tribe, and the main group).

Moses doesn't have an off state. He's always active with his emotions. Happy, sad, angry, upset, they're all pushed to extremes. He's easily excited by things (especially his goals), so much so, that he shows more stupidity than normal. He's not a complete barbarian, despite his appearance (and how he acts at the beginning of the game), and his love to fight. He's also very easily moved to tears, and can be kind. Never hiding any emotions, he pushes them all to the front.

He’s perverse at times. Calling Melanie, an enemy, his horny woman, and saying there are things they can do with his spear and her whip. He’s also a breast man, always jealous of Norma when Grune (someone who has big breasts) pulls Norma in for a hug in her breasts. And cheers so very loudly when he gets one of the same. He’s not interested in all women, just the one with the ample assets.

Giet is basically his best friend; not even a pet anymore. The reason for this being was that, originally, Moses wanted to befriend Giet, but the Galf kept running away. Eventually, Moses gets attacked, is almost killed, and the Grand Galf came back for him. Because of this, Moses is willing to leave everyone else when they tell him to get rid of him. For most of the story, where ever Moses went, Giet was sure to follow. Giet was the person he trusted the most, going so far as to blindly trust him. When Giet started to go out and hurt and kill his family, Moses believed it was something else entirely. He trusted completely in Giet. He struggled constantly, knowing he had to get rid of him, but Giet meaning so much to him. Giet was truly a good friend to him, they were together through thick and thin, and basically, they were forced to be separated, because of Giet's nature as a Galf.

Moses doesn't exactly have 'friends', per say. Everyone who he's close with is his family. And he'll protect them until the day he can't anymore. Anyone who hurts his family, unless he's told otherwise, he'll fight for them. He'll fight to bring Shirley back home, two times, because he's told she's Senel's sister, and he'll help family members out, no matter what.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths: Moses is a very strong beast tamer, as he is the leader of a group of beast tamers/bandits; he's also extremely social as well. Because his weapon is spears, he has to have good aim to use them. An Iron Eres (Strength based 'magic'), he's also very strong at fighting and anything strength related (as he can easily grab Shirley with just one arm).

Weaknesses: Moses is extremely emotional, and will cry fairly easily, or become quickly angry with a situation. He's one of the least intelligent characters in the game, and doesn't always think things through. He's also very stubborn at times, especially when it comes to battling. He's also very blunt at times. When he places a lot of trust in someone, he will defend them, even if he knows they've done something wrong. He's also scared of loud noises, including thunderstorms.

Samples
First Person Sample: Hey! You guys out there! I gotta know somethin'!

[He holds out Happiny who is very happy, raising her arms into the air.]

So, this thing is supposed to evolve right? Cause I've been fightin' with her for a while and I dunno how to make her bigger and better...

[He turns her to face him, and moves to kiss her lightly on her forehead.]

It ain't that I don't love her or nothin' but we gotta get stronger. And I know she can! So help me out, okay?

Third Person Sample: The world was far different than what he had called home for years and years. There was no other bandits, there was no caves, there were no real big monsters to fight... all he had with him was a bag full of junk that he didn't even know how to use and some ball with a little creature in it. Who was dancing around in front of him, singing some little song in her sweet as could be voice. Super cute, sure but... man, this blew. He wasn't used to cute creatures wanting to follow him around (unless you counted Shirley but he better not say that in case someone heard). They were tough like wolves, and then he had this... Happiny, it was saying. So that must have been her name.

He flopped down onto the ground, looking right at her, chin in his hand. What did he do with this? He heard from the people in town that they would need to fight to get through this world and maybe, someday, in the long, far away future, go back home! But what could this thing even do? It just seemed to like to dance and sing! And that was adorable, yeah, but that wasn't fighting! That was just playing! Having a good time was always a good time but they were stuck in some stupid town with no where to go at all.

"C'mon! Show me what ya got!"

And without much warning as to how, the Happiny jumped up and pounded Moses in the face with it's body, causing him to flip over backwards and land on his back with the strength she showed! Shaking off his head, he looked towards her, who seemed to be dancing and singing again. He blinked and moved right back over to her, picking her up with a nice big smile on his face.

"Y'know what? We're gonna go far! Just you watch!" With her singing and dancing in his arms, he knew that was the truth! This Happiny and him, they were going to go the distance. He had always been good with creatures, and this was definitely going to show it.
