Personality: Strength. The Fanalis are renowned for their strength and Morgiana is no exception. She wasn't always strong though--at one point in her life, she was forced to endure the whims of a cruel master.

Most of her childhood remains a mystery as thinking back on her life before slavery was beaten from her until she was practically lifeless. Realizing even as a child that there was no one who was going to save her from her master Jamil, she began to fear him to the point where she would do anything he asks of her. Morigana was terrified of the repercussions that came with disobeying him because the punishment was always worse than anything anyone else can inflict upon her. Having grown up under his "care", she began to develop feelings for him. Not ordinary ones of love and tenderness, but instead pity as she sympathizes with her captor. This is prominently displayed whenever he forces her to fight Aladdin and Alibaba as they can't comprehend why she wants to help someone who's done nothing but give her rotten memories.

Even as a slave she carries her pride with her and it's that alone that convinces Goltas to confide in her the cruel acts he's had to inflict due to their shared master. Listening to another slave who was much like herself tell her these things stirred something within Morgiana and even when he breaks the chains that bind her as a slave (as well as take Jamil with him as the dungeon collapses), he begins to weaken the mental chains.

Those are Morgiana's greatest fault after all. When fear is instilled in you for years at the thought of running away, she found herself unable to do so even when the opportunity presents itself. The combined efforts of the friends she makes in the first dungeon (the one Amon resides in) and the dying wish of Goltas are what convince her to take the first step towards her freedom. Even still, she finds herself troubled by these thoughts. Suffering from nightmares of reliving the past, she has trouble sleeping. It's only when dawn breaks does she dream of Goltas who convinces her that she is now free to do with her life as she pleases.

Unfortunately there are times she still acts like a slave. Generally quiet, her stoicism tends to ward people away and when that fails, the color of her hair does. When communicating with others, she's brief with her words and instead communicates with body language. Often she stands with her hands clasped behind her back (a habit from being a slave), but can move her arms around when she's excited. She's quick to fall to the earth, placing her forehead against the dirt, or bow at whim--a habit she's still trying to break herself free of.

As time goes by, her mood begins to seep through the iron mask of solitude. When she's upset, she's prone to pouting (such as when Sinbad insists that she stays behind instead of joining a fight) or by stomping her foot into the ground to create cracks (or mini craters). Most of her anger is displayed childishly, a hint that she's still mentally stunted when it comes to social situations and that she has a lot of growing up to do.

While she doesn't necessarily confess to being brave, her actions tend to say otherwise. Whenever there was a band of thieves threatening an entire caravan from being able to pass safely, Morgiana approached their headquarters on her own to ask them to leave. When they refused, she began to beat them up one by one until she was caught off-guard. Even though she has the strength of a Fanalis, she doesn't have the experience to think of sly tactics in battle. Easily bested by tranquilizer, she's captured and threatened with the prospect of going back into slavery. It's during this time she meets a young girl who happens to be around the same age Morgiana was whenever she became a slave and this is what essentially leads to her being free of the mental chains Jamil placed upon her. Realizing that she now has to save the life of a young girl from experiencing what she's gone through, Morgiana breaks free of her fears and becomes more passionate in doing what she believes to be right.

She's no longer a slave anymore. Morgiana is her own person to do what she wants and to go where she pleases.

Her relationships with others are what really define Morgiana's personality and are the main source of her strange quirks. Finding herself enamored with Alibaba's kindness when he buys all of Jamil's slaves to free them, Morgiana silently devotes herself to him, essentially replacing one master with a new one. Even when he leaves her to wander on her own, she thinks of her constantly and from his presence draws a new kind of strength. Harboring a crush on him, she feels elevated whenever he compliments her and disappointed whenever he fails to notice her. He's the only person who's capable of shoving food in her mouth and getting away with it. Aladdin is someone who's asked her to protect him and even gives her the nickname "Mor", which she accepts without too much trouble. Both of these individuals help her warm up to communicating and being around others.

To them, she is their wings. To her, they are her everything.

Everything or not, she's still willing to throw them at each other (quite literally) in order to keep their little trio held together. When she finally accepts that she doesn't need their permission to fight alongside them, their friendship solidifies.

There is a more gentle side to this stoic girl that's rarely seen. Morgiana's softer side first peeks through during the first dungeon arc whenever Morgiana is instructed to watch over a captive Aladdin. Since it is by her master's orders, she stands by uncaring and unwavering in the younger boy's attempts to get her to speak with him due to the fear instilled in her after years of abuse. Aladdin's efforts are rewarded when she giggles and tries to cover it up, denying it whenever he brings it up. Likely, that was the first time her mask has cracked in years and in time after their escape, both Alibaba and Aladdin work in getting her to dispose of it entirely. While Morgiana doesn't understand most jokes, she does have a tendency to blush and grow shy whenever Alibaba compliments her.

When it comes to being cared for by others, she doesn't exactly comprehend these feelings. When proposed to by Hakuryuu who insists she should become his empress, she has trouble turning him down. Unaware of her own conflicting emotions, she falls back into the same mantra she chanted before. That because she was a slave, she can never become anything as great as that. When she realizes she can't say anything right in this situation, she pleads with him to speak with Alibaba and Aladdin instead, because they are far greater at words than herself, further hinting that she has trouble in dealing with personal situations.

Another quirk of Morgiana's is that she's strange. When asked how she can be of better use to Alibaba and Aladdin (to grow stronger), she's told that she should use a Household Vessel. Her first choice is something Alibaba suggests (naturally), a pair of gnarly manifers, which isn't ideal for her combat style. When told it should be something she's worn a long time, her default is to settle on the shackles she used to wear around her ankles. Yes, she essentially asks for her chains to be placed upon her, but this time they aren't cold metal. This time, in her eyes, they are full of kindness of those she's met.

But that's Morgiana for you. She'll view the softness of others, be grateful for it, and not once realize that she expresses those very same traits. In the end, she's just a child who's trying to regain her footing and find a place in the world that she feels comfortable at.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

+ Physical strength: Morgiana displays this extraordinarily even when limited due to her bloodline. Early on, she was capable of carrying seven people at once and could snap very handcuffs meant to chain people of her kind. Since training, she's capable of doing even more.
+ Stamina: She has an incredible amount of this to the point where she can fight and train non-stop in Johto with a minimal amount of sleep. That's with the 50% debuff applied.
+ Vocal: While Morgiana rarely speaks, her voice can be used in a number of ways. Frightening, it's easy for her to spook away animals with just her battle cry alone. Another use shown is to scream and listen to the echos to determine her surroundings.
+ Enhancements: Much like an animal, she can use her nose to sniff out familiar scents. Along with her hearing being amped up, Morgiana is also capable of moving quickly, meaning that she can intercept attacks or pull people out of danger.
- Chained: A theme often associated with her, Morgiana was a slave for most of her life and as a result has painful memories of being incapable of doing anything. This can cripple her mentality and cause her to be incapable of doing anything if pressured by it.
- Communication: Morgiana isn't the best at conveying her thoughts easily, nor can she provide comfort to others.
- Anxiety: Due to her trouble past, she suffers from nightmares of the abuse inflicted upon her, as well as other things. She doesn't do well whenever her parents are brought up and she likely will have trouble accepting she's in a strange world away from her goals.
- Canon Point: Due to the point in canon she's coming from, Morgiana is going through tremendous stress as she tries to understand Hakuryuu's proposal, as well as feeling troubled that the manner Alibaba speaks to girls resembles everything that the prince said to her previously. She doesn't understand if she's truly loved or if this is just something guys say to other girls to make them feel special.

... [ At first it may appear that the girl broadcasting is unaware that it's recording--that's why there's the silence, right? An easy assumption to make, save for whenever her red eyes shift to the side nervously. ] Hi.

[ The word comes out without a squeak, but it's clear she doesn't know what to say or do. After a painfully long minute: ]

My name is Morgiana. I have never heard of Johto or Kanto, are these regions anywhere near the Kou Empire? [ They sound like they belong there. ]

Like many others, I'm looking for my allies. They're Alibaba, Aladdin, Sinbad--[ She pauses, as though to consider who else she should ask for. ]--oh, Hakuryuu too. T-Thank you for your time!

[ Was that a hint of something other than stoicism in her eyes with that last name? Whatever it was, it's as fleeting as her message as she raises a hand to turn off the PokeGear. ]

Home was a strange concept to Morgiana and even now as she travels the route leading away from New Bark Town, she thinks on everything MOM said to her. The experience didn't leave her wanting; she's dealt with a "mother" recently and as a result, the term left a sour taste in her mouth.

It doesn't surprise her that she's here alone. Before her arrival, she just said goodbye to the others as they all had their own goals in mind. For Morgiana, the Dark Continent was where her adventure was to be had. Not this place.

Johto. The name was starting to stir something within her. Glancing down, at her side was a small bird with hair that reminds her of Alibaba. A stray feather here or there, as he flutters his wings happily at eye contact. This was her Pokemon and if he ever disobeyed, she can return it to a Pokeball.

Not the one she had before, of course. No, she accidentally crushed that one in an attempt to free the Pokemon from hi's cruel slavery. After a hour of "Shoo!" and quiet whimpers of "Please go.", Morgiana found herself accepting that the strange creature was bound to be at her side no matter what. She's not sure why, but he seems to be chirpier (as that's the only word she can think to describe him) whenever she speaks with him. Were they bonding?

What was bonding anyways? Morgiana's not sure of it herself. At first she thought she needed permission to spend time with her friends, but by now she's discovered that friendship wasn't something that can be bought or given with permission. Simply, it was something that just happened.

So was that happening here? Was she going to become friends with this little guy? She pauses, bare feet in mud as she stares down at him.

"You're getting muddy." Morgiana was as well, but she never thought to look at her own feet in these matters. Traveling through rain, snow, desert--none of that mattered as her feet were like shoes themselves. "Cold too. We should make a camp for the day."

That seems to excite her Pokemon more as the Torchic happily stomps into the mud, splashing it up around his talons. Yes, they'll stop her for the night and she'll attempt to make it shoes out of something. Leaves? So long as she can blame her reluctance on wanting to leave the place all newcomers arrive at on insignificant things, then no suspicion will be drawn. Besides, with the rain coming down as hard as it was, she does have to look out for this little guy. That's her responsibility now. While most trainers may have sought to just place them back within the Pokeball, Morgiana herself knew one thing in this world of confusion.

She will never confine anything just as she had been. No Pokeballs. No chains. No leashes. Only freedom to travel at her side if they wanted.

When she got to traveling, that is. Maybe she'll just linger here a little longer in case of a friend showing up. Yes, that's alright for her. While most sought shelter from the rain, she sought the rain as shelter for her own deeds.
